I love the Myers ymca. I swim there but I’m also employed there. I love teaching my water fitness class!

I love that this place always has a treadmill available no matter what time I come. The facilities are always in good working order. I was just recommending this Y to someone today due to the convenient location too!

My kids took swimming lessons and loved it. We have consistently had good experiences here.

This facility continues to not have consistent pool hours which is incredibly frustrating to those who enjoy swim workouts. Additionally they do not send out alerts to when the pool is closed despite the fact that they have a text message alert system that is supposed to let you know.

The hot tub isn't working right and it is not very clean and the sauna and steam room are not very clean either. This is my favorite YMCA to use. We went to swim at 4:55 and we're told the pool was closing in 5 min which it was suppose to be open until 6:45. However on a good note the workout room is nice

We are extremely disappointed with our experience with the summer swim lessons. We were overchargedβ€”paying a total of $396 for two childrenβ€”but only received 8 out of the 12 scheduled lessons. Despite this, we were still charged $330, when the actual cost for the 8 lessons we received should have been $264 (2 kids Γ— $16.50 per lesson Γ— 8 lessons).

To make matters worse, the director was unable to accurately calculate the refund, and I had to fight just to receive a partial reimbursement for the canceled August sessions.

Beyond the billing issues, the class sizes were far too large. My children spent most of the 30-minute sessions waiting for their turn and were in the water for maybe 3–4 minutes each lesson. While the instructors themselves were great when they were working with the kids, the overcrowded format meant very limited time for actual instruction.

This was not worth the costβ€”especially considering we paid for lessons we never received. Very disappointing that the Y is keeping the extra money for services that were not rendered.

I have now been kicked out of the swimming pool the last two times I went in to swim this past week. The first time a child threw up in the pool. I can understand that but today I was kicked after swimming 4 laps. I was informed that a church group had rented the pool and was told "they paid for it". Well, I pay a membership fee to use the facilities, and I am not getting to use it as I want. This also happened about a year and half ago with a scuba club. Both times there was no mention of the pool closure in the online schedule posting. When I mentioned this during the scuba club I was told I should have called. Excuse me? Why don't you email your daily schedule to me every morning then! What is the use of posting your schedule online when it is not correct, I am paying the YMCA for the use of the facility, not for you to create more hoops for me to jump through. Is the YMCA going reimburse me for the gas I wasted driving there today? No. So why am I paying for something that is not giving me what I paid for?

We used the YMCA for our local church youth group get together, after hours! The staff was very accommodating and the facility was perfect! Nice volleyball and basketball courts, and a perfect place to serve and eat food right close to the gymnasium. We will definitely use this facility for future events!

Shawn Wise, the Executive Director, was great to work with in coordinating the logistics around the use of the Y!

Thank you for a great experience, and for helping us reach out to our community as we witness for Christ!

Worst staffing ever very rude mean and spiteful people. The rules are always different depending upon the staff members, very unwelcoming place my 6 yr old cried because she was kicked out of a room that she wasn’t allowed to play with the doll house but others days allowed to 12/29/24. Lots of Karen like behavior not helpful and disrespectful. The staff thinks they own the ymca

Horrible customer service! If Sandy or Jasmine is not working these people are never knowledgeable of their own Job none of them make sense and always contradicting themselves and have no idea how to explain anything older lady at that front desk just literally said I don't know when we're gonna have anything they have it when they want she needs to find another hobby then they will tag team together to cover up their mistakes .Very disturbing Very weird people I would find a very more pleasurable place to go then here to careless employees.

I go just to use the weight room, and I’m a little underwhelmed to be honest. The front desk staff is always very welcoming and friendly, which is so appreciated, but the staff in the β€œfitness” area seem to have no idea how any of the equipment works, and for the most part seem to not want to be there. The free weights are just thrown everywhere all the time, you’ll spend an eternity searching for the dumbbell you need, only to have to search again for the mate to it. The majority of the equipment is taken care of decently enough, but it is definitely really dated. And the weight room itself is TINY. It could use some help for sure, but it’s ok enough for the causal lifter and the pricing isn’t the worst around.

I have to start by saying ... I LOVE SANDY !! I am so grateful that wonderful people like Sandy exist in
the world. She was so extremely kind, compassionate, and helpful when it came to getting my family's
membership set up. Truly, all of the employees have been great. I also love the amenities. The entire
place is always clean and accessible and it truly feels like a deluxe experience when I spend my time
there. Who doesn't love a good workout followed by the hot tub? Or an invigorating game of Pickleball
followed by a dry or steam sauna ?! Yes, please! Meyers Lake YMCA is my new favorite place to be!

I love the Y, and I love this Y too. I think this one is above average. I dropped Anytime Fitness and paid only $5 more for Stark County's Y. Anytime Fitness objectively doesn't have a pool, sauna, a gym, lessons for your kids. People complain and dock stars for petty reasons like "I don't like that you play Fox News", "the equipment is outdated.", "It was dirty in the sauna". Go to another gym, pay their higher price, and get perspective then, because I bet you are all still members. The Y is the best deal there is. And most Ys and especially this, they work with you, the way you expect a mom and pop shop to work with you. I had swim lessons that didn't benefit me at my level of skill. They refunded it and applied to private lessons which I suggested, no questions asked. Never had a billing issue, never a customer issue, and I feel safe that if I did have a billing issue, they'd work it out in good faith. If I call, they always return it and fast. I must be insane, because I was crazy busy for three months, moved 4 hours away and didn't go to any Y in Stark, but still kept my membership and didn't mind that they got the money. It just seems like they are doing good for the community, and we need that, especially in Canton, Oh.

There was a bald white lifeguard who was incredible rude. He was only following me and my friend even though we were literally just sitting in the water. I'm 15 he asked me and my friend for our ages after he seen another lifeguard ask. My friend said he was 15 and I said yea were both l freshmen. He says I asked for your age and I said 15, which is fine. They he says louder I ASKED FOR YOUR AGE and walked off. He was just really rude and I would never have that experience at the north Canton YMCA.

Staff in wellness room is great. However, for a place that says it welcomes all when you use the Wellness room you are subjected to Fox News on the TV. All 24 hr. cable news are divisive and a major contributor to the current divide in the country. There is no other side just their political view whether you agree or not. How this is in in line with the Y mission statement is without explanation.

Nice Place but to many people that come especially younger people lifestyle are questionable and don't reflect well on the moral standards of YMCA.
And be careful in parking lot especially on Saturday when volleyball and basketball had a close call with people in a rush too get the games.

This is my favorite "Y" for lifting weights. They have a great selection of equipment and friendly staff that will always give you a warm welcome. Although not a massive gym, the equipment is very well kept, up to date, and weights heavy enough to give you the challenge you need. It may get crowded between 5-7pm on the week days, but anytime before it is spacious and calm.

Karlee is the most helpful staff member, if it was not for her me and my family would not know about any programs or how anything works at the myers lake ymca. Karlee makes it her job to make sure members know what programs are going on and helps us find what is best for us. It makes us sad she is only there on Wednesday she is so helpful and great with the kids we love her.

I have been going to this gym since 2005, it has made very nice improvements since they merged with the ymca. They moved the work out equipment to a new fresh and larger work out room , added new equipment and created a group exercise room which I do not use. I like to do my own thing. What I like the most is the steam room, hot tub sauna and swimming pool after a good work out. Other gyms are eliminating all of the water activities, probably so they can extend their hours with out having any staff on.
