Misfit Strength is incredible! They provide excellent couples and strength training. We have been training with them for over a year and are over the moon. We never like to miss a week with Carrie. Carrie helps you achieve your strength goals, works with you through injury recovery, and all around is the absolute best!

I have been training with Carrie (at first solo, then in a group) for almost 1.5 years now, and I don't think I have ever enjoyed a fitness activity so much! I had heard about Misfit Strength from several acquaintances, and finally decided to book an appointment so I could strengthen my core/stave off back pain.

As someone who has been plus size my whole life, I have had many bad experiences with gyms/trainers, but Carrie was immediately different. She encourages me to check in with my body and not push through pain, but still encourages me to try a little harder than I "think" I can. In the time I've been training with Carrie, I've competed in two Strongman competitions and have set and accomplished numerous goals/personal records.

Beyond the fitness benefits/feeling cool and strong, I have made so many friends at Misfit and feel like I've found community. I love the intention and thought Carrie puts into each workout, and her dedication to each of her client's physical and mental wellbeing. She truly embodies HAES and inclusivity in her work. You won't find a more compassionate, encouraging, and funny personal trainer, or one with better dance moves. Folks from Columbus — she's worth the drive :)

Carrie is one of the kindest, most caring individuals I have ever met. Training with her is like hiring a personal hype team, a therapist, and a guru all in one. She knows when to push and when to let your body rest. She has helped me believe in my own capabilities and realize my potential. Thanks to her and her space, I have found movement that I actually enjoy. If you're looking for a training partner who will keep you accountable, check in on you like you're family, and change your perception on strength training...give Carrie at Misfit Strength a call.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in November 2020. There is a history on both sides of my family and I avoided that truth until I got the call with my test results.

I went out and bought my meter within an hour and I started to work. I knew to a degree of what needed to be done as I had walked this path when Mom was diagnosed 15 years ago. It’s completely different when it’s yourself tho. I was scared.

Hubs and I walked every morning or rode our bikes, and then because of the huge ramping up of walking I developed Achilles Tendonitis and that about put me on my a$$, but I continued and then went to physical therapy. I was in a wheelchair at Disney at one point right after being diagnosed with the Achilles situation because I couldn’t handle the pain after walking an hour. My kids and husband had to push me and I felt like such a failure. But I persisted!

My friend Katie suggested I talk to her personal trainer as she had a virtual option as well. What would it hurt? Maybe I could adjust some things because of my heal pain...and then I met Carrie Brookins with #tribalstrength. And then it started. Abby even joined me and worked out next to me. That girl...she truly has my heart!

I would do physical therapy twice a week and with Carrie twice a week - and she adjusted my exercises when and where needed because let’s face it, I’m not in my 20’s anymore. Just the warm ups had me on my butt...and now they’re quick and I’ve moved from 5lb weights, to 10 lbs, and now 20lbs. She listens to me complain and vent on the days I need it, she pushes me and encourages me to keep going, encourages my 10 yo to join in and challenges her, and she she laughs when I use my workout words (cuss) as she’s killing me slowly with each rep.

I had a follow-up yesterday (May 2021) as my doctor wanted to check my bloodwork and potentially adjust my meds. I had been on Monday for my sinus infection and figured I would be in and out no big deal.

My doctor sat down and looked at every single line of my test results from November to now. And shared every single change:

✅Weight down 25 pounds 😱🤩🥳
✅Blood pressure back to normal❤️
✅A1C from 7.2 to 6.0 🔥🧨🥳

We talked for an hour, and she has been thrilled with the results! I was floored that I had lost that much weight - slow and steady!

I had to go buy new shorts 2 weeks ago because my others are baggy. I shopped in the misses department for the first time in 20+ years - and I tried on a tank top too! I could SEE the results!🤯

I am extraordinarily hard on myself - have been for years! I have a hard time hearing praise or praising myself - I always feel someone else is more worthy. For years, I revolved everything around my family and put myself last and I HAD to make a change. Being here for my kids and husband was the motivation. We moved here so that we could be more active and enjoy this place together. I wasn’t going to let this change that.

I 💯 feel better - I have more energy, the constant acid reflux is non-existent, and I notice when I eat better it fuels my body so I can do more. I eat veggies and protein with every meal and have 25-30 carbs per meal. No white bread, pasta, rice, flour, sugar, or potatoes. If I do eat one of these - 3 bites and that is it. Otherwise I learn a way to make it low-carb.

I couldn’t have done it without Carrie - she encourages and pushes me and I WANT to do more and make her proud. She’s THAT amazing!

And most of all to the ones that are facing their own health challenges reading this - it can be done, it’s not too late, and you do deserve it!❤️💯🥰

Carrie is a fabulous trainer. She has cultivated a culture in the gym that is welcoming, comfortable. and judgement- free. She is caring, knowledgeable, and will motivate you to want to try new things. I wasn't athletic growing up...I didn't play sports. Carrie helped to bring me out of my shell. I've participated in CrossFit competitions, mud runs, and have pulled vehicles for competition. I never thought I would ever have been able to do that. Being strong is very empowering...liberating. It gives you confidence you didn't even know you had.

That is just my story. Please join us at Tribal Strength to start your own. You don't have to do what I've done. Your journey is your journey...and this is a great place to discover yours.

Tribal Strength has been a God send for me. 2020 has been the dumpster fire of all dumpster fires. I was desperate to find my own space when I started strength training with Carrie. From the first meeting with Carrie, she spent an hour with me to make sure we were both are a good fit for each other, Reviews’s my goals for different areas of fitness, aesthetics, and mental health. My time spent with Carrie is so invaluable. Not only is every session unique and different from the last, but her attention to detail is bar none. From making sure you’re doing each exercise properly, to tracking your progress, to following up after each workout to check in; she offers a 360 approach. She truly cares for each of her clients, has immense empathy, and a safe space to enter into each time. If you’re in the market for strength training and want to join our “tribe” look no further. You won’t be disappointed!! Plus she’s super funny and the time you’re with her flies by!

Tribal Strength is more than just a place to workout. It is a community.... a family... a tribe of individuals that care about you, nurture you and support you. They uplift you through your goals and rally around you through whatever challenges you may face. They come together to celebrate your successes. Carrie of course is at the center of all this, our fearless leader. She is hands down the most endearing and transparent person I have ever met. You will never question her motives or why she does what she does. It is so obvious she chose this path because she loves helping people, not just with their physical exterior, but she attacks body image issues and will work with you through any other insecurities you may have or encounter. If your looking for a place to not only work on your fitness, but to make friends, gain a family.... a place you can call home... then look no further. Tribal Strength is it ❤️❤️

Wherever you find yourself in your fitness journey Carrie will meet you right where you are. She is incredibly gifted in coming up with a personalized plan that will stretch and challenge you in ways you didn’t realize you needed to grow. She has incredible insight and takes the time to understand her clients in a way that no ordinary trainer will. Working with Carrie was life changing for me. I saw incredible aesthetic results which pale in comparison to the mental and emotional improvements I gained in just twelve weeks working with her.

I gained confidence to lift heavier and overcame fears of pushing myself towards more intense cardio in spite of my asthma. Carrie was able to motivate and challenge me, but did so with such gentleness and grace. I honestly did not expect an online coaching program to be this hands on and transformative.

I can’t speak enough to the expertise and skill that Carrie can offer you. It is such a worthy investment to transform yourself physically, mentally and emotionally by joining her tribe. She was 100 percent vested in my success. I learned if I show up for myself in the same way, the goals I have are as good as mine. I can’t thank her enough!

Once I finally decided to use Carrie’s expertise, I was more than pleased! She listened to my goals and needs, set a training plan that was doable yet challenging, and constantly pushed me just enough to continue making progress. She is very knowledgeable, and I recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer!

Carrie is awesome. I started working with her about 4 years ago. I couldn’t do a forward lunge, push up, hAng on a bar. She has transformed me into a physically strong woman.

Her methods and process are very strategic. You don’t know why you are doing a certain exercise until you are capable of doing a forward lunge.

She is kind and gentle with her training and lets you modify if necessary. She genuinely cares about your body and mind.

But she will push you and you don’t even know it.

She will help you with your nutrition but only you can make it work.

I never thought I would compete in CrossFit competitions, weight lifting competitions or do mud runs. But here I am.

59 years old and I am in the best shape if my life.

Supportive, communicative and encouraging. Dont hesitate to hire her for your personal trainer. My wife and I have attended her classes and training over the last 5 years. She never fails to deliver.
