No cell phones, no people hogging machines, no socializing during workouts. You don't have to plan your work out. You get there on time, do the work out with guidance from the instructor, and leave. I have found OT to be very user-friendly and responsive. The instructors vary in their clarity, attentiveness and choice of music but overall they are all good at their jobs. There isn't much one on one interaction with them. They are busy keeping everyone moving. Jamie is excellent.

I signed up for my first class a year and a half before I actually went into the gym because I was so intimidated. I'm out of shape and haven't ever liked working out, but know I needed to get in gear. So I finally went and got hooked pretty much immediately. Every workout is doable but challenging, you can modify as needed, the people in classes with you are also there to work hard and the only interactions I have with others is positive and encouraging. No one is judging me like I imagined they were in my head. The staff and the coaches are awesome and helpful. When I signed up, DaRian said "its gonna be the easiest hour of your day" and I understand what he meant - its easy because someone is telling you what to do and you just have to do what they say. Easy right? But the 'working hard' becomes addicting and I truly look forward to going to class. So I'm posting a review in case someone is on the fence to encourage at least one class no matter your fitness level because its an awesome place to work on yourself and your own goals.

Im loving it here! Everyone, from the trainers to the staff to others coming in to workout are excellent and so so supportive! I'm loving the themes week and appreciate the trainers for showing alternative for workouts as well as corrections to forms. I also love the heart rate monitor and seeing the work that you're putting in. 10/10 I'm super happy to be apart of this gym.

This orange theory is great! They have spacious changing rooms, clean restrooms, and a motion sensor water fill station. The staff is pleasant and they have various activities like cookouts in the parking lot to bring family too! I love the workouts there and with the right low caloric diet I’ve managed to lose 15 lbs of and fit comfortably in all my clothes!

I was unsure about Orange Theory, having a strong reputation for HIIT and cardio workouts. I found it to be very well balanced, and strength classes easy to roll into my weekly routine. Boutique classes are simply not cheap, but OT is in line with the market. Rates vary from $80-120 a month based on package, if I recall.

Phenomenal Studio staff is very friendly and helpful, lovely group of people to work out with well. I like that orange theory is based on your own heart rate zones meaning everyone is encouraged to compete and do right by themselves and not by others. Encouraging but not competitive atmosphere where it’s safe to learn more and expand your skill sets without burn out. I just wished I had joined sooner!

I love the variety of class times offered at this Orange Theory! I have been a member for a few months now, and always feel welcomed during each and every class. The work out is certainly not easy but you can modify it to the level that you are at that day. I always feel so motivated after I show up and conquer a great work out and that is because of the stellar staff at this location. Was a bit nervous going to an OTF in a different state especially since I'm nonbinary. I walked in though and immediately was greeted by two very friendly people at the front desk (so sorry I didn't get your names) and Abe the coach for my class who was awesome. Something somewhere that you are focused on enabling yourself to reach your true potential and hold oneself accountable, yet have a trainer motivate and guide you right along side yourself... THIS IS THE PLACE!!!
It's got a crossfit vibe, but it's so much more!

I'm pregnant and have never felt more motivated to get up, to move and keep my body strong through this last trimester, rather than sit down or sleep whenever I get the chance like I did with my first pregnancy.

The one hour group fitness classes provide quality strength training and diverse treadmill blocks. I regularly attend the 4:30am classes throughout the week, and the atmosphere at that hour is unmatched. The studio is sparkling clean and the staff sanitizes the space on a regular basis. OTF Akron is hands down the best gym near me! I am happier, healthier, and noticed better sleep as well. I have been held more accountable during classes, not only by the coaches, but by the other members as well- it is truly a community feeling where we all celebrate each others wins. Whatever your current fitness routine is, OTF Akron is for EVERYONE! Coach Luke has been at this location since it opened and he is such a great coach! I love Jason, Tim, Adam annd everyone is invested in my success! All of the coaches work nonstop during classes to ensure form is correct, and to make sure we are safely doing the exercises. My favorite time of the year is coming up - Hell Week! The name sounds intimidating but it is such a fun thing that corporate does each year to engage with the studios and their members! The prizes for completing the Hell Week classes is a T-shirt which we love to show off once we earn them! The environment is unlike any other gym I have been to. The value of each workout is shown in the results, it really speaks for itself. I absolutely love it

I have been a member of Orangetheory Akron for over five years and the experience improves each class. Some of the things you can expect when walking in the door are a respectful, welcoming, and motivating environment. Orangetheory Akron has amazing coaches and encouraging staff. The group fitness experience of Orangetheory keeps you accountable and produces results you can see. I am in a better mood, sleep better, and am happier after my one-hour workout.

The workout can be tailored to any level. If you are a runner, the treadmills can accommodate faster speeds. If running isn’t your thing, jogging or power walking is an option. The gym also has a bike and elliptical for the low-impact option. On the rower, you can add more power for full-body results. The third station is on the weight floor. Here you can choose the weights you want and get suggestions from the coaches to modify the move to your level.

While on vacation or traveling for work, the network of Orangetheory Studios can be your home away from home.

Every month they have benchmark classes aimed at progress. There are running, rowing, and team challenges to push you to get better. They also have Holiday season themes like Hell-Week, Marathon Month, and Mayhem, to get you out of your current fitness routine.

Edit: I have been a member for almost four years and I still love Orangetheory as much as day one. If you are on the fence, stop in and give them a try. During COVID, restrictions have changed the way classes are run, but they are just as amazing as before. Cleanliness and sanitizing is a top priority and I feel very safe each time I walk through the door.

This was my first experience in joining a gym with personal training and joined the experience enough to join myself. I’ve been with club for a couple months now and appreciate that the coaches are friendly, encouraging and really push me to go past my limits every week in the one hour sessions we have. As a newcomer to Akron from a completely different climate in the US, it has been hard to stabilize my current fitness routine. Our move here has been nothing short of stressful in many ways, and I was very skeptical about starting at any gym near me in this new area. I, however, have found OrangeTheory Fitness in Akron to have some of the most welcoming and friendly people. Not just the awesome staff and amazing coaches but the other members as well. The group fitness creates a great atmosphere that pushes me for a higher quality of workout that I have never been able to achieve before. I have found this to have improved my overall health physically and especially my mental health. I find myself in a better mood and with clearer thinking more often now, the calorie burn and new muscle tone are a plus too! The direction I have received in the overall encouraging environment has helped me push for an increase in intensity in my workouts, and has boosted my endurance. For me, the hardest part is simply scheduling and showing up for class, but once I am there I have overcome the biggest obstacle in achieving a good workout…myself. I've always struggled with motivating myself to workout and I have rarely, if ever, looked forward to it. Not the case here now. I find myself scheduling a class when I was sure I would want to sleep in or take a day off. Making that commitment seems daunting at first but keeping that commitment makes it worth it and improves my accountability for myself!

The club at Akron is fantastic! I’ve never been happier! Akron use to be the gym near me but I live up in the Cleveland are and I go to the 4:30am class. I drive 35 minutes every morning to go. That says a lot. I wouldn’t go to any other location. The friendly staff and amazing coaches have a lot of knowledge, they are so approachable, and makes the environment extremely fun. Since coming back to the akron location after a year, I’ve had better sleep and in a much better mood. This is not just a HITT workout gym they have strength 50 which is all about the weights and strength in this class. I shower before I go to work or to classes and let me tell you, the bathroom and showers are so clean every time. Currently, it’s Hell-week and let me tell you, it is tough but it is 100% worth every pain. This week is the best workouts and I will do it all over again and the coaches are very motivating that keeps me to push myself. I cannot motivate myself to go the gym and do a workout. That’s why I love Orangetheory. They have 2-3 stations that you rotate through in a one hour class. The treadmills, rower, and the weightlifting. I like that there are different stations and the intensity goes by your heart rate. Need to push yourself when you are blue or green, orange is ideal and red means you are really pushing yourself. If this sounds like something that will bring excitement to your workout routine then stop in and you can experience this gym yourself. I will be surprised if you don’t fall in love like I did.

Let me tell you a little bit about my favorite gym, Orange Theory Fitness. It's conveniently located in Akron and it's of my favorite places. It's the best gym near me and truly a home away from home. They offer a great variety of times to attend classes. I prefer going first thing in the morning at 5:45AM. I think OTF is the best workout in Akron and I appreciate the HIT workout model. I've done 500 classes and can tell you they have amazing and knowledgeable coaches (all the coaches are awesome, especially Coach Luke!) and it's great atmosphere and environment. I run long distance races outside of OTF and these classes have helped to improve my race time significantly. OTF is not just a gym, it's a community and the have lots of fun events like the dri-tri, Mayhem, transformation challenge, and Hell-week. Recently I've been going to the Strength 50 classes and added those to my current fitness routine and love the intensity and results. The running, rower and strength portions are different every class and always a fantastic workout. Even though I like running, the weights are my favorite part of class. I love OTF Akron and am so glad I found this gem!

If you are looking for a great gym in Akron , on the west side in Wallhaven area you should check out Orangetheory Akron which is great, I’ve been a member there for over a year. The workouts are dynamic and challenging, the coaches are incredibly motivating and supportive. The combination of cardio and strength training keeps things interesting, and the heart rate monitoring helps you push yourself. We typically attend an early morning class and the workout community is fantastic, and I’ve seen great results in my fitness journey. I always have an amazing experience at Orange Theory Akron-OTA. The morning staff (Larissa, Luke, Adam, Tim, Geyza) and the other members are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Orange Theory Fitness has been the best thing that could have happened to me in my forties. I was bored and unmotivated at the gym when working out by myself, but OTF changed that. I am now motivated to go to the gym to work with the amazing coaches that keep me accountable. I am lucky enough to have two gyms near me, but I attend Akron primarily for the Strength 50 classes with Coach Tim and Coach Jason. They are not only encouraging, but also tough on me when I need it. They create a welcoming atmosphere and make an effort to know you as a person and your fitness goals. They are always respectful and super knowledgeable when it comes to adapting the exercises due to an injury or limitation. I once considered myself a “former” athlete, but I have since rejoined the realm of being an athlete thanks to OTF. My heart health has changed dramatically and benefitted from their style of workout. I have seen a major change in my body composition, especially in muscle mass, since I started in Akron just eighteen months ago. OTF has helped with marathon training and helps me continue to excel in my sport, basketball, even at my age. I love the group fitness aspect of OTF. There is a sense of community and camaraderie. I must admit, the thought of joining a HIIT gym scared me. I don’t know what I was afraid of. Orange Theory fitness in Akron is the best gym near me. I absolutely love the intensity, environment and coaches (shoutout to Abe and Jason!) The coaches are welcoming, knowledgeable and motivating. I appreciate that the coaches will jump in and help correct your form when you are not doing it correctly. They are truly there to help you get the most out of your classes. My strength from these fitness classes has improved greatly. I love running on their treadmills and completing the challenging but very doable floor workouts. It is by far the fastest hour of workout I’ve ever had. The community and atmosphere of the gym is incredible too! The music that is played is fun and keeps you motivated to accomplish the task at hand. Everyone is friendly, encouraging and respectful. I have been a member of Orangetheory Fitness for nearly 6 years, and I am in the best shape of my life at 47 years old. I have tried many other gyms and workout classes and by far Orangetheory Fitness has the best workout classes and coaches with wonderful atmosphere. I love how the classes are expertly designed and created by fitness & health experts to help you burn fat and build muscle. Classes are unique and different every day but are the same throughout the entire globe for that day. Being a member, I can walk into an Orangetheory Fitness location anywhere in the entire world and get that same workout the same day. Every class is unique, but the experience is always exceptional. I have been to well over 35 studios throughout the US. The Akron location is my home studio; however, I do frequent the Canton location since I live halfway from both. Living in Green, I have a lot of gyms near me, but I prefer Orangetheory Fitness over other fitness facilities in the area. It's always comforting to know when I travel for work or vacation there is always an Orangetheory close by!

There is a mix of running on the treadmill, rowing and lifting that gives you strength and endurance training all together. If one of these isn't something, you can do then the coaches will alter or modify based on your physical needs. They also have a spin bike and elliptical machine as well. Class with coach Jason at Akron is hands down always a fun and upbeat experience. The atmosphere in his class always puts you in a good mood! I've always felt comfortable and welcomed by all of the staff or members. You will often see employees, coaches and even the owner Rhonda attend class! I love how I can keep track and monitor my workouts through the app. They also will do body mass comps to help monitor your fitness journey. There are also challenges throughout the month where you can monitor your fitness goals and accomplish new personal records to keep you on track for your fitness journey. You do not have to be a fitness expert to get started. The coaches and staff will work with you regardless of your age or experience for quality training. It could be your first time ever stepping into a gym, and you will walk out after the first day feeling confident & eager to go to your next class.

Orangetheory Fitness truly changed my life. Being an elite member pushes me to get in on average 5-6 classes a week! It's the one hour of my day I look forward to!

I recently moved to Akron and it was time to look for gyms near me. I wanted to find a place that is motivating so I looked into a place that offers group fitness with amazing coaches… a place that could provide me with a sense of community during workouts because I get easily influenced by energy around me. I have seen Orange Theory when I shopped at Whole Foods in Akron so it was a place I checked out first. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and when I toured the place I liked the atmosphere and liked their hospitality from the start. I tried the first free class. The coaches were professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and moreover, respectful. I have been working out there for a few months now and have had great experiences. Although it is the first gym I checked out I believe it is truly the best gym for me. It suits my workout style. I like the environment; it is clean and sanitary. I like the HIIT style workout. I love that I can tackle both running and strength exercise in one hour. I like the accountability that group fitness provides. Coach Abe’s classes are probably my favorite. He’s very motivating and I always get great workouts. Both my sleep and mood have improved, not to mention my body is getting toned and strong. Overall, it’s been a great value added to my life since I moved to Akron.

Even though I’m running all the time, I still need a gym for strength training in order to be a healthier, well-rounded athlete. When I moved to the west side of Akron, I needed a gym near me, and Orangetheory Fitness is definitely the best option. OTF Akron provides the encouragement and accountability I need to achieve my fitness goals, get the results I want, and increase my power and endurance on the roads and just in life itself.

I love Orangetheory Fitness Akron for its welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable, encouraging coaches who make the workout feel almost like a personal training session. Orange Theory Akron is by far the best gym near me in Akron with the best one hour workout! All of the desk staff are so friendly and welcoming each day and create a great atmosphere. The gym is always sparkling clean and they always put member’s safety first. It really feels like a community at Orange Theory Akron with all of the friendly staff who always strike up a conversation before class or check in to see if you are meeting your current goals. I have been a member for a few years and I really love the intensity of the HIIT workouts. The amazing coaches are very knowledgeable and even more motivating. Coach Tim has really helped me meet some of my personal goals and is always so encouraging during class by giving me the push I need. He also plays the best music during class that always pumps everyone up! This one hour class has helped with my overall fitness journey and has helped me increase strength. Orange Theory Akron is the most encouraging gym near me! The amazing coaches provide an atmosphere that’s motivating and fun! Each coach is welcoming, and they help us reach the goals and quality results we’re striving for. During the holiday season, it’s a great opportunity to jump next to a friend on the treadmill and/or rower. Having a workout buddy makes it fun and holds me accountable. The benchmarks are a team bonding experience and assist with accountability as well. Coach Jason makes you feel like you’re in a club and you’ll always feel happier after your one hour work out. I try to never miss a Sunday with Coach Joe. He gives you that extra push and helps everyone set the tone for the upcoming week. Coach Luke will teach you how to survive in the gym AND outside of it. The front desk team is knowledgeable, respectful, and they make you feel like you’re in a community not just a gym. The HIIT workouts helped me with my ½ marathon prep this year! As the President of Summa Health hospitals, I can tell you that OTF Akron puts health first and literally improves the fitness level of our community. A few words that comes to mind with OTF Akron is hospitality, welcoming, respectful, encouraging and professional. Relocating from California, the instant I walked in the door, I was greeted by the most friendly team and immediately felt like family. Heather and Michele are my favorite girls at the front desk.

The coaches, with my favorites being Luke and Caitlin, push you to your highest potential, yelling encouraging words, motivating when you feel like giving up, and modifying your moves when guidance is needed.

I am the type where I can’t just walk into a gym and feel self motivated. I need structure and direction, and these personal training classes do it for me, between running, using the rower and weights. I love seeing the diversity of the members, with ages ranging from college students to senior citizens in their 60’s and even 70’s. Accountability is a big part of the culture as well.

I’m competitive by nature, so I love seeing my heart rate and the number of splat points I have compared to the others in the class. The heart rate monitor and the concept of being in the orange zone for at least 12 minutes to get the afterburn is the best concept ever.

I joined OTF Huntington Beach in California 6 years ago after having my daughter and needing to lose my pregnancy weight. I’ve been a member on and off, and I keep getting drawn back to stay and keep working hard.

OTF Akron is a great gym near me with friendly staff and amazing coaches! Rita and Heather at the desk are always so friendly. Coaches Jason, Abe and Luke really know how to push you to your full potential!! I can’t recommend OTF akron enough! I tell all my friends about it and the great results I have accomplished here. The one hour workouts are perfect! You get a good cardio and strength workout. They have a variety of equipment with treadmills and rowers which all the coaches will tell you work 98% of your muscles! They have benchmark challenges that push you to do better and an app that keeps track of all your challenge results so you can always challenge yourself to beat your previous times and weights. The transformation challenge is a great way to start off the new year. You get a body scan to start off the challenge and then throughout the 8 weeks all the staff and coaches encourage you to be your best and then a body scan to end the challenge so you can see the results in numbers and be proud of the changes you have made to your body. Then they throw a party to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments! I can’t stress enough the encouragement you get from all the staff. If you have a fitness goal and let them know what that is they will do everything in their power for you to meet that goal! They have helped me complete my first half marathon and first full trail marathon! I am much happier since starting otf akron

I had the most incredible experience at this gym near me in Akron. The atmosphere is not only clean and welcoming, but the coaches are amazing and highly knowledgeable. I love Orangetheory Akron! It is the best group fitness gym near me! I’ve been coming to the Orangetheory Akron location for almost 5 years. As a trail runner and overall athlete in multiple disciplines, cross training is a very important aspect of maintaining my endurance and muscle tone. Orangetheory fulfills that requirement. The studio is clean and sanitized regularly. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the amazing coaches (Jason, Abe, Caitlyn, Tim) are knowledgeable, encouraging and motivating regardless of your fitness level. It doesn’t seem to matter how I feel when I start class, I always leave feeling healthier, happier and in a better mood! The short but effective 1 hour HIIT style and the shorter 50 minute lift centered Strength 50 classes are so easy to fit into a busy schedule and have become a regular part of my fitness routine. The classes are fun and I truly enjoy the themed challenges and events including Benchmarks, Hell-Week, Transformation Challenge, Dri-Tri, Marathon Prep, and Mayhem (just to name a few). While being in search of a gym that can accommodate all of your needs and understood what my intended goals were and give me a feeling of home away from home feel! The environment is absolutely, positively friendly. You feel the welcoming love soon as you walk in the door! Front desk girl greets you with a smile as she was so pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful from the time you walk in the door! She walked me around the front area and it was coach Tim 500 celebration and lets me know the lockers are around the wall. She said “whatever you find in the locker it’s yours to keep”. I walked to the lockers and I notice a greeting card was on a locker with a welcoming note and my name. When I opened the locker I had an orange theory sweat towel a protein snack and drink. How thoughtful, it definitely makes you smile. My instructor coach Tim is absolutely amazing! I love him!! The atmosphere is spectacular ✨ orange theory is extremely sanitize and clean, I love that!! I go to the Akron office its the best gym near me with amazing coaches. But again, Tim is my favorite and the only coach I have had ❤️ he is so encouraging and welcoming. We do one hour sessions broke up in segments and rest time. The music and the treadmill starts me up, it pumps you up for the rest of the class. You start off walking at a pace that fits you, then the excitement begins 🏃🏽‍♀️ Just knowing you came to thrive and achieve your goal/goals along with the coach behind you giving encouragement! It’s absolutely the place to be. I never done the rower machine an immediately when I seen it I thought about kayaking but it’s a bit more challenging. I can say it’s helping me build strength in my legs and arms, giving me the feeling of a full body workout! I like the goals coach Tim set out for the overall class to hit when using the rower, treadmill and the weight floor. The weight floor is my biggest challenge! The steps are on two tv monitors showing you how to do each step, just in case you need to see and example. The weight floor helps me to build the mindset of defeating the weight, don’t let the weight defeat me! Once the class is done you don’t want to leave straight out! There is a relaxing stretch at the end to help whine you down. You also get a chance to meet other workout peers who are so welcoming and helpful. Some are new just like me and you! When I leave out I feel better, have clearer thinking and sleep better. It also helps with my anxiety. I gave Tim a goal and when I tell you he is so motivating, professional and give you the push you looking for, it is literally a vibe!!!! I really love every exercise we do as a group fitness, it’s a great experience and great atmosphere “JOIN ORANGE THEORY ”✍🏽 you will not be disappointed- it’s all love!! 🤞🏽The first step is just getting through the door..! I attend the Akron OrangeTheory. It's the closest gym near me. I absolutely love the one hour group fitness class. It's for everyone, whether you're an athlete or just looking to lose pounds, lose inches, and/or improve on your endurance. Akron OrangeTheory is very clean and welcoming. The atmosphere and equipments, including treadmills, weights, and rowers, are top quality and are sanitized throughout each class. They have amazing coaches who are very professional and knowledgeable. It's a great atmosphere to work out, and It's a great experience overall. This HIIT class is very motivating. After a class, I'm in a better mood, I'm happy, I have better sleep and feel healthy overall. I'm looking forward to Hell Week. It's a fun way to really test your fitness level. This and all classes definitely give you that push to increase your intensity to levels you thought wasn't possible. I love the accountability that I have as I go through my Transformation Challenge. As I build strength, muscle, and endurance. The coaches are very motivating. I'm able to wear my old favorite jeans, and having that motivation success is an awesome feeling. I have been a member of Orange Theory Fitness in Akron since 2019, and I cannot rave enough about how amazing and motivating a workout it is! I have always been active, but for someone in their 60’s who wants to stay fit, build and maintain muscle strength and get a great cardio, especially a HIIT, workout, OT is perfect. After a one hour workout, I come out fully energized and feel like every part of my body has been challenged!
I love the Akron studio; it is close to home and of all the gyms near me, it is definitely the best. The front desk staff are like family; so friendly and welcoming. The coaches are amazing, so knowledgeable about every aspect of fitness and are always encouraging me to push myself.
The studio is sparkling clean, the treadmills and rowers are wiped down after each use. The gym area is set up with all the equipment you need; mats, weights, TRX straps and steps.
I love the fact that you wear a monitor which shows you when you are in the “orange zone” or optimal heart rate for a great workout.
OT is a perfect blend of private coaching and group classes. I never had the discipline to work out on my own at a gym. OT incentivizes working out by allowing you to book classes in advance so you have your schedule set. Because the classes are coached, all you have to do is show up and work out! I would never push myself this hard. The time goes by so fast and you leave feeling energized and ready for the day!
I know I am healthier, happier, have improved mental health and generally feel so great, thanks to OT Akron!!

I have loved coming to OT in Akron! The coaches and staff are so friendly, kind and positive. They create such a welcoming and encouraging environment and I always look forward to coming to class. As a medical student, I have limited time and in the one hour class, I have a much higher calorie burn and more effective workout had I just gone to the gym. I always leave class in a better mood and the consistency has been an important part of my mental health. I have seen several results over the last few months, as I’ve gained more endurance while running and strength overall. I also love that you have the option to track your heart rate and calories during class with the monitor. Having that data helps me pace myself, especially on the treadmill during longer runs or when we do a series of sprints. It is for sure the highest quality fitness class and gym near me. The coaches are very motivating and knowledgeable, and they always push me to work harder and correct me on form, which I always appreciate and have not gotten in other HIIT classes. I've had a great experience at OTF Akron over the past 4 years. I come in up to five times per week and I always get a good workout and have increased my strength, endurance, and overall fitness since my journey began. This also helps my mental health journey!

This training has helped my confidence and strength as well!
Also, the gym is clean and they and we always sanitize treadmills, rowers, and all the other equipment between every use. There is a welcoming community of members and the coaches are all professional, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Some of my favorite coaches include Tim and Jason!

I love the atmosphere at OTF Akron and the ability to get in a complete and planned workout in one hour. No two workouts are ever the same!
The coaches also always offer alternate options for weight lifting moves to meet the needs of all levels, they also encourage me to lift heavier!
They also have recently introduced a strength 50 class and allows me to tone and work on muscle.

There are also options for power walking vs running on the treadmills. I've never been a runner but this has help me gain the confidence to run, all while losing pounds and inches!
I've tried other gyms near me and this is the first one that really supported me and I was able to fully commit to showing up to . I'd definitely recommend trying this gym if you're looking for a good option in Akron.

I am new to Akron and love group fitness classes rather than coming up with my own routine at the gym, so when I saw that OTF was a gym near me, I was immediately intrigued. I took my free class and absolutely fell in love with it. The membership isn’t cheap, but the value is so worth it. You do not need to be an athlete to do Orangethoery, you just need to show up and the coaches will do the rest. I would never be motivated enough on my own to complete an hour of a HIIT style workout without the amazing coaches at OTF Akron I don’t have a bad thing to say about any of them. They are so welcoming and knowledgeable. Coach Abe, Joe, Jason, Luke, Adam, and Caitlin are wonderful and always encourage me to do my best. The calorie burn and increase in endurance on the treadmills and rowers are enough reason alone to join. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to re-join OTF! I’ve been to the West Akron location and the Copley location. Both are amazing, clean, and have such a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The front staff team members are so helpful and bend over backwards to ensure you are set up for success!

I’ve regained confidence and in the two months I’ve been going, I’ve seen my body tone up and get so much stronger - such motivating results. I like the versatile nature of the class and how you spend time on the rower, the treadmill, and weight lifting. I love how the coaches push you but make you feel extremely comfortable and encourage you to increase weights and keep going.

It’s nice that OTF has incorporated 50 minute strength classes. It’s a nice mix up to focus on weights, especially having the unlimited package.

My favorite coaches are Jason, Luke, and Tim. I also like that they go around to the different locations too, so when you’re at a studio that isn’t your home base, the familiarity is there. The value is great, and for a one hour class it’s literally the best gym near me! Also, the community is respectful, you make easy friends - it’s truly a home away from home that you can get a great sweat sesh in. 1000% recommend West Akron and Copley locations!

I’ve been going to the Akron Orange Theory for a little over 2 years now and it is clearly the best gym near me for my current fitness routine. The coaches are professional and knowledgeable about the exercises they’re teaching and are constantly encouraging members to push their limits to get stronger. The workouts are roughly an hour long and consist of running, rowing, and lifting weights; this type of HIIT workout has helped me with my weight loss and build lean muscle.

One of the best aspects of Akron Orange Theory is that even though you’re in a group fitness session it still feels like you’re getting personal training each class. They include many benchmarks to motivate members and encourage them to improve their results. These high intensity classes are very versatile and help teach you what's best for your body in order to achieve your goals.

The staff at Akron are very welcoming and quickly make you feel like you're part of the OT community. When walking into the building for a class the atmosphere helps put me in a better mood and improve my mental health especially after a rough work day. I really like the Orange Theory workout and environment. I was looking for a gym near me and found Orange Theory Akron which is really conveniently located in the Wallhaven area by Whole Foods. I am a runner and really prefer running to spinning so I like the format of treadmill, rower, weights. Now that I’m in my 40s lifting weights seems to be really critical, and I love that I can just come to a class with amazing coaches who are motivating and knowledgeable and help me get the most out of my limited time during each workout. I’ve been going twice a week for a few months now and so far it’s been a great experience, the gym is very clean and I like the intensity of the workouts. I also love how many options there are for classes. I work full time and have three kids in school and various activities, and I’m still able to find sessions that fit my schedule. I am not a gym person but this place has changed my mind! It is the BEST GYM! Front desk staff and coaches are welcoming, motivating, respectful, and knowledgable. I workout 2x a week to feel better about myself and it’s nice to be a part of the local fitness community. You do treadmill, weights, and a rower and power HITT workouts. I have been going to the Akron location of Orange Theory for over two years and I love it, it’s the best gym near me! After taking my first Orange Theory class I was hooked and couldn’t wait for the next one. It has a lot of variety, amazing coaches, a great atmosphere, very clean equipment and prioritizes the members safety. Recently, it became an even larger part of my current fitness routine to assist with marathon prep to train for a half marathon. Since starting Orange Theory I have had better sleep, been in a better mood, and have seen an increase in my strength and endurance. Been coming to OTF Akron for a few months now with my girlfriend. Was looking for a gym near me, and couldn’t be happier! It’s like a home away from home for us.

The coaches have been nothing but great to us as we get ourselves to lose weight and and gain strength. The exercises are probably not something you would do on your own (especially the treadmills and rower) which makes coming here have even more value. In the past, I only ever lifted weights or done sports that involve minimal cardio. I have never been good at running, so I’m able to push myself in that regard when I come here.

Looking forward to seeing some results during Hell Week! We did Mayhem earlier this year and can’t wait to take up the intensity. Hopefully this year I’m able to run better now that I’m more in shape.

While all the coaches here at OTF Akron are welcoming, I love Coach Jason! He always challenges me to do quality work and is very friendly. Likewise, it’s a blast doing class with Coach Caitlin! Miss having her around now that she’s working a new job.

Orangetheory Akron is the first gym in Akron that I have enjoyed belonging to for many years. It is the best gym near me where the environment is motivating, welcoming, professional, and clean. I love the 1-hour workout that incorporates both cardio and weights for maximum calorie burn and strength training. The gym equipment is sparkling clean, and I appreciate the air purification units that are visibly running in the gym. We sanitize / wipe down our own rowers, treadmills, and weights after every session to protect each other, and the studio does a monthly deep clean which helps during the winter months. I have never been an athlete, but I find myself enjoying the fitness routines and I love to see the results in my weight loss and increased metabolism: I have lost 5% body fat… and counting. Orangetheory Fitness Akron has made dramatic results in my fitness level, as a professional / desk jockey, and self-described non-athlete. It is far more effective than what I was doing at home, sporadic running plus HIIT videos online. My calorie burn at OTF Akron in one hour is 2 to 4 times more (+/-800 cal.) and I am noticeably stronger. It's a higher intensity, but my body adjusted, I am sleeping better, and have even more energy during the day. My metabolism has noticeably improved.

My wife? A year ago she had back pain etc., which scared us due to her physical job. Now she’s traded that in for lasting energy, strength, and a few sore muscles. The alternative is to pay more for chiropractors, heart medication, and physical therapy. Let's give a few hours a week and hopefully extend our life. That's value.

Give yourself a hour to get results and clear your head, with motivated like-minded people. Everyone (yes, everyone) is friendly and the coaches each bring their own style and music to create a motivating atmosphere. They keep pushing us to do the next one as, “your best one…” and my mind is sharper.

We really didn't think about other gyms near me (<5min) in the heart of West Akron. The cool part is that when we travel, we can maintain our workout routine at another OTF: vacation and work travel doesn’t have to mean skipping a workout.

There's one thing missing...that yucky gym smell. I have noticed that there is a ton of airflow through the place (with air purification), we wipe down the treadmills / rower / weights we use every hour, AND the owners provide their own monthly deep clean to sanitize everything.

It's clean, well organized and has a great vibe with a friendly atmosphere. Once you join, it will soon become your home away from home as you come to enjoy the team bonding and great atmosphere here at the club. It's a great way to incorporate personal training in a group setting, to get the correct calorie burn needed for proper weight loss. One thing I discovered is that group fitness actually helps to manufacture motivation success instead of becoming bored with my same old everyday routines I used to do.
Another great value added thing about OTF Akron is the fact that the other locations in Copley and Canton are part of the same great community. Each location is identical in terms of equipment so you have a nice feeling of familiarity in case you need to try a different location for some reason... same rowers, same treadmills and same floor equipment with weights! The staff is always friendly, professional and respectful.
Caitlin is one of the many amazing coaches. I always love sessions with her! She definitely knows what she is talking about. If you book with her, just realize that she has "been there/done that"...as she has had her own amazing transformation! Just finisheda great intense HIT class with Coach Abe at OTF Akron! He is new to Akron and is an amazing addition. During this one hour intense HIT workout I sweat my butt off, we had endurance on the trwds and he encouraged us to focus on the recovery phases of thr workout! This is one of the best gyms near me with fantastic coaches. I love the community, team bonding, and great atmosphere. I have increased my endurance, had great calorie burns, and weight loss during my year with Orange Theory Akron. The gym is clean, and safe. I've had a great experience at OTF Akron over the past six months. I come in four to five times per week and I always get a good workout and have increased my strength, endurance, and overall fitness since joining earlier this year. This training has helped me prep for several events including a race and a trek I'd signed up for before joining. The race is now complete and I performed better and enjoyed the experience so much more than I would have without my training here at OTF. Orangetheory in Akron is my home gym. It is a gym near me. I have been a member for going on 5 years. The coaches and staff are extremely positive, encouraging, motivating , knowledgeable and so much more! The gym is always sanitized including air purification. There is always a welcoming environment which encourages a positive hard workout. It is the best one hour value of any gym in Akron. It is the best personal training for anything from a marathon prep to everyday health and wellness. The equipment incudes treadmill, rowers and weights which are perfect for a great workout. No matter your age or history of athletic ability, Orangetheory is a place where everyone fits in. The hours of classes are flexible to accommodate everyone’s schedule. And you will feel so welcome each time you walk through the doors. It’s my home away from home. And you will LOVE the results !!!!! The classes increase your metabolism throughout the day. It is amazing to me how I feel each time I leave and the increase in energy I have as I go through my day. The classes are truly fun and enjoyable! Lastly, Orangetheory is all about community too. They deeply care about people and helping others. It is an all around great place to be a part of! My boyfriend and I have been coming to the OTF Akron since the beginning of the summer and could not be happier! All of the coaches are energetic and stay so positive (especially Coach Caitlin and Coach Jason). OTF Akron makes exercise and working out accessible to all bodies and the coaches here are always pushing us to be/do our best! I have been a member of OTF Akron for 3 years and I cannot see myself going to another place to work out. Before OTF I used to work out on my own, but it got to a point where I wanted to try something new and challenging and that is when I found OTF. One of the things I love about OTF is that you get everything you need to reach your goals, whether you want to lose weight or get stronger. I also love that I can track my workouts using a heart rate monitor that helps me know how hard I am working. All the coaches are great professionals; whenever I need help or have a question, they are always there for me. My first class was coached by Jason and since then he is my favorite coach. He challenges me in every workout and makes me work harder. He is always dancing and makes the workout fun. Not only are the coaches great, but the front desk staff are amazing too. They always receive you with a great smile and make sure you get everything you need before your workout. Our studio manager Larissa is very nice and creative. She is always around ensuring the studio is perfect, keeping the coaches well informed of all the events happening, and making sure the members are having a good experience. I can't say enough good things about Orange Theory! After my first class I was exhausted but I knew I had to come back. The atmosphere is incredibly motivating, with energetic coaches cheering you on throughout the workout. Each session is a great blend of cardio and strength training, ensuring a full-body workout that leaves you feeling accomplished and invigorated.

The heart rate monitoring system is a game-changer, as it allows you to track your progress in real-time and push yourself to reach new fitness levels. I love the Akron, Ohio location. I have been to multiple locations, but this one is my favorite location. The staff is always so welcoming and the coached really push me to do my best in and out of classes. Everyone welcomes you by name when you come in. One of the best gyms- always a good and positive workout experience. I love the variety of classes and exercises. Larissa is super helpful at the front desk and is able to organize the busy morning perfectly. Luke is always providing a good atmosphere to workout out in and I appreciate his energy at 4:30 am. We did an alien class for fun way to mix things up and even brought a breakfast it was a good community moment. Akron is definitely the best location for workouts and community environment. I love the run row blocks and the different ways to workout. The coaches at 4:30 am are always pumped and help us keep this class alive since this is the only time a lot of us can workout. This Orange Theory is great! The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They always make accommodations if you are unable to do a particular exercise. Everything is at your own pace, and the music is excellent and loud in a fun way. This is the first time I have been able to keep a consistent exercise regimen. Although I rarely use them, there are nice, clean bathrooms/showers and bottled water available. The gym has well-kept equipment and is always very clean. I also love the flexibility of my membership. Since I travel for work, I am able to make use of my membership all over the country. Of course, the Akron location is my favorite.

I absolutely love OTF Akron! I joined when they first opened and have loved it from day 1! The one hour classes are exciting and fun and based around building strength, power, and endurance. I’ve always loved running-whether it’s on a treadmill or outside-but OTF Akron has helped me learn to focus on weight training too-which is something I never did before. I also love that I wear a heart rate monitor during class, so I can see how hard I’m working. The classes have amazing coaches and an overall friendly competition feel. Orangetheory Akron is a great one hour workout_ you get to work on strength, endurance and power using the treadmill, rower, and free weights. Also a bike & strider is available. OTF Akron is my home gym, I love it! It’s a really friendly gym, with great coaches! If you’re traveling, or across town, there are lots of OTF gyms around, so you never need to miss a calorie-burning signature workout! The equipment is the same in all the gyms, and you can feel at home in a welcoming atmosphere wherever you are! Coaches are quick to learn visitors names and encourage you to do your best.

I started Orangetheory Akron fitness back in 2021 after years of driving by it and I’m so glad I did. I was so hesitant to do it at first because it seemed too intense but that was not the case. Growing up as a runner, it is great to be able to be at a class where I could challenge myself with running. The HIIT templates are so easy to follow and I like how we rotate between the weight room, treadmill and rower. I especially like the 3G classes because I feel like I’m constantly moving while getting to work at the intensity I want all in one hour. The front desk people are always so welcoming and the coaches are very knowledgeable and motivating. I truly love attending coach Jena’s classes because her playlists are always amazing and she always makes a point to say hello or to simply check in. I am happy to see new challenges and coaches, like Coach Tim, being added to the schedule to keep my experience fresh and motivating! The Akron facility is always clean and smells good! I especially love how the heart rate monitor helps guide my workout. I always feel so productive after seeing all the calories burned and splat point I earned during class. Some perks to the membership is that I can use any facility which is so helpful with my busy schedule and I always know I’m going to get a good workout because the workout is the same across studios. I also like the accountability that my membership and my coaches gives me. I also love that I can easily book online through the app and can track my workouts through the summaries after each session. I love the workout is set for me, no thinking on my part, just show up and expect to get a calorie burning sweat inducing workout for an hour.Dont worry if you are lacking motivation the energetic knowledge coaches, 2 of my favorites, Jason Lucas and Luke Mcdevitt are ready with all the energy and motivation you need to push yourself to lift a heavier weight up the incline on the treadmill and to become a better version of yourself. Joined Akron OTF in late 2021 and it’s been the best investment! I've recently started at OTF (Orangetheory Fitness- Akron) and already love it! I'm a former cf'er and the HITT workout at the gym is great at a manageable daily pace. The treadmills and rowers are in great condition but my favorite is the weights! Everything is always so cleand and we santize as we go. On the first day I came in, I met Coach Luke and Heather who got me signed up- little did I know tons of people who are members here also work in my organization and I've met a bunch of them already! I just finished my Valentines Day Workout with Jason and wow, both my husband and myself were SWEATING after that workout! Got to see some of my favorite team members, Rob & Rita (Michelle wasn’t there day, but she’s also a favorite!), and we did ALL of the things. Treadmills (still not up to running, but I go all out for the power walks!), rowers (I love these, they are my favorite), no weights today, but the workout floor had quite a versatile, intense flow. Y’all, if you haven’t tried Orange Theory classes yet, you need to. You don’t need to be an Athlete to start! You will gain strength, power and endurance slowly if you need to. On top of the staff being so professional and knowledgeable! I promise you won’t regret it! You will need to keep your accountability in check, but for the value you can’t go wrong. All of the coaches are so motivating and welcoming to all sizes and strengths, they have so many different types of challenges and classes, and no 2 classes are exactly the same, so the environment never gets stale! They constantly make sure everything is sanitized, so the equipment is sparkling. They care about your safety, so if you cannot do a certain exercise, they will modify it for you. All in all, the best gym I’ve ever been to.

There is definitely a sense of community at Orangetheory amongst the staff and members that is truly and wonderfully unique. Their knowledgeable, professional, friendly and encouraging coaches will guide you through each workout. Showing you proper form and motivating you give your best effort. Orangetheory provides the aspects of personal trainer in a class workout setting. The workout itself is a mixture of treadmill, rowing, weights and core exercises. I love that the workouts are different everyday and that they have classes all throughout the day to allow for versatile scheduling. The heart rate monitor you wear during class gives you a real time indicator of the intensity of your workout and the statistics of each workout are available to you to help keep you accountable and to help you set realistic goals for yourself. Their easy to use app stores all of your workout data and allows you to book your classes. All I have to do is find an hour in my day and show up. The rest takes care of itself. I've never been able to motivate myself to workout as hard as I do at Orangetheory on my own. I lost just about 35 pounds since I started going to Orangetheory Akron 3 years ago. I've kept the weight off and I've met a lot of really nice people along the way. Orangetheory Akron is very safety conscious. Their studio is outfitted with a state-of-the-art air purification system and Larissa and her wonderful team do an amazing job of cleaning and sanitizing the whole studio and all of the equipment on a daily basis keeping the whole place sparkling. Enough cannot be said about OTF Akron! When I moved from Charleston, SC to Ohio, I knew I had to find a gym near me that was as friendly as the one I frequented for over 15 years back home. OTF’s Akron studio hosts a one hour group fitness session in a great atmosphere with amazing coaches. Coach Luke prioritized my safety as I worked through recovering from a frozen shoulder for a year by helping me modify moves on the weight floor while I was waiting for the strength in my shoulder to return. When I was having trouble running on the treadmill, Heather suggested I try the strider instead to bolster my strength, power, and endurance during that block of the work out. Heather makes me feel like OTF Akron is my home away from home when she signs me up for my favorite starting spot before I even walk in the door. I love belonging to this club that has top notch equipment and a crew that has sparkling smiles like Rob at the front desk. I have the Orange Premier Membership which is a great value because I can attend unlimited classes. Since late 2020, I have been to over 300 classes where I continue to have great experiences because the team at Orange Theory Akron are always encouraging members to try the transformation challenge or helping people with marathon prep. Working out at the Akron studio has really increased my metabolism which I needed because I haven’t felt this way since being an athlete playing high school sports. In some work outs, you work with another member to achieve a goal, and it’s really nice to have some wholesome team bonding while you are getting your pump on. Additionally, their air purification system and sanitization methods are unmatched. I have been to other OTF studios in Ohio and South Carolina, and there really is no studio like this one.

I love to workout here! The community is so nice and the coaches are amazing. Workouts are a great way to build strength and they have all the latest equipment. Running on the treadmills is not my favorite thing, but after doing it I have increased my speed and built my endurance. Overall a great experience and a great gym. Orange theory provides a good mix of endurance and strength so each workout is different and unique. The members are always motivating and during our early class it’s nice to see familiar faces and encourage each other. The coaches provide a healthy environment to workout in. Coach Luke is always high energy at 4:30 am and helps us get through the day. Larissa upfront is always helpful and can handle all my questions. I feel as though you can’t spend enough of mental and physical health and so this is the right investment. Everyone should experience orange theory at least once. Lastly I love their tracking system and how I can measure my own goals. We have the benchmarks and so it provides a good image or where my fitness journey is going- and it’s different activities so I never feel like there isn’t my thing. I was having trouble staying motivated from running alone so decided to try Orange Theory. It has been about 8 months now and Orange Theory has taken over my workout routine! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the members create a pleasant atmosphere where everyone can work to be the best version of themselves. Being able to pre-book my classes weeks in advance has allowed me to easily incorporate workout classes into my hectic schedule. I was never comfortable pushing myself to lift for fear that I would injure myself by using incorrect form, but now I am the strongest I have been in a long time and injury free!

Also, the coaches are top notch!

Luke is your go-to, he’s classic rock. He’s there most mornings kicking off the day with 4:30 AM classes. He’s very encouraging and is excited to see you improve. He is a huge advocate for completing your benchmark classes because he truly likes seeing people beat their personal records. An important to note, you may leave the class with Steve Miller Band stuck in your head. Abracadabra!

Jena is amazing! Very friendly, most mornings she makes a point to say hello to everyone in the class. She is very knowledgeable and offers tips to improve my lifting form. She's also not afraid to let some TSwift power ballads rock the studio.

Joe is awesome! I look forward to his Sunday class. It's nice when you can see that someone genuinely enjoys coaching. He's always shouting the right things like "quiet that voice in your head" and "it's all about pushing yourself when you're already tired". That's the kind of stuff I need to hear. Full disclosure: I HATE working out. With a passion. I have periods where I’ll try really hard to turn myself into a “fitness person”, and I have such a hard time because I can’t find something I enjoy. Orange Theory has been working so well for me, and I actually look forward to my workouts, which is new experience for me. The workouts are made up of a few basic components, but there’s enough variety that I don’t get bored. The class environment really works for me too— it’s supportive without being competitive! The coaches are high energy and keep things fun. Joe is my favorite; he’s supportive but not pushy, and he sings and dances, I have keeps class fun. (Although all the coaches are phenomenal.) The front desk crew is so friendly too! I always feel welcome. I don’t get self-conscious at OTF, even though fitness isn’t my strength. My favorite gym ever— and that’s high praise from me. Orange Theory has changed my life for the better! Since I started I not only have lost 20lbs, but I have gained my confidence and health back. The coaches are absolutely amazing and bring something unique to each class with their different styles. Rob at the front desk knows everyone by name and is so friendly and helpful. It truly is like one big family. I have always been intimidated by working out because I felt like I didn't know how. With Orange Theory, all you have to do is show up and listen to the instructors. I absolutely love Orange Theory Akron! The smaller class structure makes things far less intimidating and the variety of workouts for each class makes the workout more exciting. I have been coming to OTF Akron for a few months now and Heather did my introductory class with me my very first day. Her bubbly personality and her knowledge of OTF sold me immediately. The coaching staff are amazing as well. Coach Luke goes above and beyond each day to ensure the members feel comfortable in class and he is always so encouraging. I recently returned to OTF after a 2 year hiatus and moving to a new state. The Orangetheory studio in Akron is by far the friendliest, most welcoming studio I have found. I was a member of another studio for over 3 years, 3 times a week and none of the staff or trainers ever even knew my name. It is so refreshing to be greeted by a friendly, smiling face by name every time I enter the Akron OTF and to know that I am going to have an amazing workout as well. I would highly recommend this location.

I have been going to OTF in Akron for over 4 years now and I just LOVE IT! I never really worked out or ran before I joined, but the coaches are so helpful and motivational. I signed up 9 months before I commissioned in the Army to get in shape. I could not run for more than a few minutes and I could not do a single push up at that time. I have been going to Orange Theory Fitness for over a year now and I absolutely love it, mainly because of how efficient their workouts are. To be able to fit cardio and strength training into a one hour workout in a way that I will not be able to on my own is commendable. They also have special 45 min strength only workouts (called ‘lift 45’) for days I don’t feel like doing cardio. The classes can be easily scheduled on their app which makes it super convenient. What’s motivating for me (besides the upbeat music and the coach cheering everyone on) is to see our heart rates on the display monitor during the workouts (it’s good to know we are all in it together). Everyone here from the coaches, to the front desk staff, to other members is so friendly and supportive. What’s more is when I travel, there is always an Orange Theory Fitness in town that I can workout at.

I switched to the Akron studio right before COVID, and my experience through the pandemic and coming back to the studio was nothing short than seamless. Even with us having to wear masks for quite some time, the entire staff and members have all been overly respectful of everyone! I am thankful to workout with a fantastic group of individuals on a regular basis and the Coach staff, management team and front desk associates do go above and beyond to get to know us! Love OTF Akron! I joined in April 2022 changing my lifestyle of going to a regular gym coming up with my own routines. At OTF you don't have to think about anything- just show up! The workouts are different every day and the coaches walk you through exactly what to do throughout the class. I have been a consistent OT member since 2017. I had never been a member at a gym before for fear I simply put in my own head. Fear of failure, fear that I wouldn't be "good enough" (whatever that even means 🤷🏻‍♀️), fear that people would look at me. I worked myself up so much I convinced myself I couldn't join a gym. A friend talked to me about OT and how it's not like that at all. She pushed for me to take a class. I was fearful but with her by my side I mustered up the courage and booked my first class (which is free!). I immediately was hooked. I love the structure of the class and you spend time on the treadmill, rower, and weight floor. The coaches are genuinely amazing people. In fact, when my cat died very suddenly due to cancer OT Akron sent me beautiful flowers 🖤. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and wants YOU to succeed. There's no competition and no one staring or judging. OT was the best decision I made in 2017 and if you are looking for a gym but don't know where to start, feel anxious or overwhelmed...this is the gym for you. Try it out and see for yourself.

I'm an out of towner who decided to take a class at this OTF. Other than the amateur mistake of taking a 90 minute class while totally unprepared I was very impressed with the team. The coach took an active approach to my workout encouraging me to beat my personal bests and increase my weights when she could see I had more to give.
