As a physical therapist, I love that Orange theory uses the science and personalized heart rate monitors for your specific intensity. I also love that the workouts are always changing for good variety of all global muscle groups, so you never get bored. The instructor (and the other clients) are so friendly and helpful when you're starting out and trying to keep up. I always feel so much better after the one hour classes, highly effective on my sleep and mental health improvement.

I love the Montgomery OTF, they're one of my favorites after sampling around 30 locations. The coaches have all been great, desk staff friendly, and I've never encountered a nasty/explicit playlist music-wise.
I got to meet a regional director there too and bounce ideas/questions off him too during a coach training session. That was cool and enjoyable as well. When I'm back in the area, OTF Montgomery is one of my favorite go-to locations. Keep up the great work!

I was recently reading a bunch of books about exercise, physical health, and dieting. Through that process I soon realized OTF has perfected the art of exercise in so many different ways:
1. Financial accountability: The OTF subscription model incentivizes attendance. I go more often to the gym if I know there is a financial incentive to do so.
2. Social accountability: I work harder because there are others around me that push me and I don't want to give up with a bunch of people watching.
3. Social interaction: That same group of people also provide a community to chat with, commiserate with during a hard workout, and celebrate with. Our gym is awesome - they often have birthday party workouts for members. Also, as you enter you are greeted by name, then the trainer works with you during the workout, and when you leave everyone says goodbye. This is no small thing. OTF makes you feel like a celebrity every day you attend.
4. Metrics: I also enjoy the focus on quantifying my work. The data provides a way before, during, and after the workout to see how I'm doing, pushes me to try harder, or proves that I am actually improving when maybe I don't think I am.
5. Easy to access classes and app: The app is also a great way to track that data and makes it super easy to add classes. I can see how many classes I've taken, who is teaching, what times are available, and if I'm on the waitlist or not. No one has a better app than Orange Theory.
6. Music and emotion: Perhaps one of the biggest motivators is music. OTF Trainers are somehow also professional DJs. They can tap into my inner beast with the perfectly timed song for an all-out effort. No other gym has that kind of psychological connection to motivate its patrons.
7. Trainer with knowledge who pushes you: OTF trainers are beyond professionals. They are kind, motivating, and genuinely interested in each person. They have the hard skills of a top-level trainer, but they also have the soft skills of knowing how hard to push and when. It's impossible to not feel like you are one of their best friends. Who doesn't want to work hard for that kind of person?
8. Equipment access: All the equipment you need is at OTF. Rowers, treads, free weights, bands, and Bosu balls are all perfectly organized and accessible. I like exercising when I know the equipment is top-notch.
9. Variety of activities each class and during class:
10. Competition: There is a healthy amount of competition at OTF. They have leader boards for both the best and the most improved (best PR).
11. Unique environment (color): When I arrive in the orange room I am ready to go. They unique environment triggers a unique response that makes the space special.
12. Challenges, Rewards, and Achievements: OTF keeps things new and interesting with rotating challenges and rewards. You can track these on the app and it gives you something to look forward to.
13. Repetitive and habitual (same class times): You get a new workout every time. This keeps things from getting too monotonous. However, the class times stay the same which helps you plan your weekly schedule.
Any one or two of these alone would make a great gym environment. But, OTF has carefully considered all the best parts of other gyms and put them in one perfectly balanced and seamless experience. I'm OTF for life.

Everyone always asks your name, when new, and calls you out in class (motivationally of course!) you will always get a great exercise here. A special shout out to coach MARIA! who is IT! she has the best energy and she is bound to put you in the best mood even after kicking your butt! i wish coach maria taught more classes but for now you can find her tuesday and thursday evenings

UPDATED 2021 - I am thoroughly disappointed in this studio and their management. There was complete transparency failure and lack of notification when the studio was notified of a member testing positive for Covid, the studio manager is unresponsive, and the feeling of community has disappeared. I was looking forward to being back in the studio after the pandemic/vaccination, but I don't feel safe.

The best addiction ever!!!! The workouts are never boring and are always challenging. I love the enthusiasm and knowledge of the coaches. They push us to levels that feel out of reach but they know we can achieve! On days I cannot go, I find that I'm jealous of those who get to take the class. Everyone at Kenwood OTF is very supportive of one another while trying to get through the workout...almost like a team sport! The staff is professional and pleasant! Not great - honestly. I go in NYC so was a drop in. Did a 3:15 class on Thursday and other than a predictably solid workout, if this were my business I would do some serious training with my desk staff on orienting newcomers to the facility (bathrooms, lockers, getting the loaner monitor working) and general friendliness. Also the instructor did that thing where she kept joking sarcastically about burpees - exactly for what purpose I don't know, definitely not motivational. No one explained to me the system they worked out for people who need to cycle during the running phase so mid class at the switch one poor regular got super frustrated with me that I didn't get how they work that. Net net to the franchise owner: get a secret shopper. Net net to other fitness fanatics: solid OT workout but forget about feeling welcomed.

I love the fast paced, high intensity setting. No class is the same and although you have the same core stations each class, I always feel physically challenged in a different way. Not only are the workouts amazing, but Kenwood has an excellent staff who make workouts that much better. Despite being in a class with 20+ people, I feel like the coaches really take the time to get to know you and know when to push you outside of your comfort zone, which really drives home the value for me (especially coach Kyle)!

My home location is Mason but I prefer traveling the additional 15-20 mins and coming to Kenwood because of the coaches. Iβve at least went to one workout class with each coach I believe they have 4-5 total and they are exceptional. Shout out to Kyle love his energy, motivation, music and even with a class of 30-40 with 3 groups of us doing a different timed workout, I have never felt lost. He stays on top of it.

I really enjoy orange theory because whether Iβve been coming every day for a month Or I havenβt been there for a month I can always work at the right level since it is heart rate based. I am not the kind of person who wants a trainer with me for me entire workout, but I love the fact that they will come over and fix my form if I was doing something incorrectly and give the class pointers that I can incorporate into my workout.

OTF changed my life for the better. I am in the best shape of my life and I would never turn back. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in October after I had recently joined orange theory. It has helped me very much with managing my symptoms and staying active. I would recommend orange theory to anyone.
