The facility itself is very good and they have excellent equipment. However, the hot tub, locker room, and showers don’t smell great and often look unclean. One of the front desk ladies also seems uninterested and doesn’t pay attention when we ask questions—always comes across with an attitude, which feels very unwelcoming. Great gym setup, but the cleanliness and customer service definitely need improvement.

Queen is an incredible Yoga instructor at this YMCA! She does Yin Yoga at 7 every Tuesday and Thursday and I couldn’t recommend it more. Her assisted stretching afterward is so helpful to improve you posture and get a really deep stretch. The class is both difficult and relaxing and Queen is a such a talented and warm instructor. Love it!

The girl at the front desk is rude and always loud and swearing I pointed out 2 weeks ago about bugs in the steam room and she said the slugs are water bugs and the spiders jump so high because they are small… also staff has no time to clean because they don’t get enough breaks also if she reports the uncleanliness all members will be mad because they don’t get steam room will have to shut down for weeks as if to deter me from complaining week 2 more bugs more ppl see them now and a staff member came in to spray them with soap today smh

This is a pretty terrible gym with disrespectful and careless staff. The staff have low standards for cleanliness, equipment maintenance and providing appropriate sanitation materials for gym members to wipe the machines down. There is a lack of ownership and courtesy if you encounter issues with the parking garage. You have to convince them to help you and care. The gym community is…weird, but there are some good eggs. If you’re under 26 it’s a nice and cheap option with a sauna. One of the few around Cleveland. Otherwise if you can afford a better option it’s worth your time.

Good place to get in a workout and has most of the equipment I need. I started taking a yoga class here and I look forward to it every week. I never would have considered yoga if I did see it here. Highly recommend the class with Sunni if you are looking for a yoga class.

I called in earlier today to request a refund because I had received confirmation of cancelation and still was charged and I expected it to be an honest mistake and I called they confirmed that both accounts were canceled and then proceeded to confirm that I was indeed charged today and when I asked about a refund they said that there were no grounds for a refund, I would love to know how down bad a corporation has to be to have to steal from previous members. (WATCH YOUR MONEY WITH THIS PLACE) not to mention I didn't even leave a review talking about why we had originally chosen to quit or membership is multiple times being there and seeing parasitic worms in the showers and what I can only hope wasn't BEDBUGS.

If I could give a lower rating i absolutely would, First the Extreme lack of interest to be even remotely helpful from the front desk never fails to amaze me. Have never seen people so completely put out to have to do any aspect of their "job" including I guess be trained on any of the actual rules and regulations of how the billing process works which is no doubt to take as much money as possible before you see the worms in the showers, i tried for months to cancel my membership and had no luck on it actually canceling just to have them continue to take money from me, and charge me late fees for months after I "requested" my membership to be canceled. I will continue to call and leave reviews everyday until some one willing to do their job and issue a refund is willing to contact me.

Though my hometown and permanent YMCA membership is in Duluth MN, I found myself living and working in Cleveland for five months during my husband's double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic. My passion is dance/ballet, and I needed that creative outlet during a very stressful time. This YMCA was only a few miles down the road from where we were staying, and I was able to visit on multiple occasions as a guest. I loved the open studio I found by the stairs, with a barre and mirror and lots of space to dance and give myself a ballet barre. The locker room was impressively clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I only visited on Sundays when it was quiet so I can't speak to the parking but I had no trouble parking nearby on that day. If I ever find myself back in Cleveland for a period of time, I will definitely return to the Hannifin Downtown YMCA location! I would highly recommend it!

Been coming to the downtown Cleveland YMCA most of my adult life. A beautiful facility that always is so poorly run, hard to believe that there are any members at all. I take group exercise classes that often no instructor shows up for but you don't know until you get there and wait for an instructor. No one at the front desk ever knows anything, they are busy playing on their phones anyway. Good place if you want to work out yourself but forget the group classes, they do not care how they treat the members.

I’ve been back after the pandemic for 2 months ago I wonder why the steam room is always broken 😞 you call they said it’s working when you get there it’s not working wires are coming out of the ceiling huh safety issue there)🤔 my women locker room isn’t all that clean! I love the staff but it’s always two women there but sometimes they should sanitized the pool area especially on their 15 mins breaks I never seen anyone sanitize the area? In the pool area! The facilities are fine but the staff leaves A LOT to be desired. First off, it took three separate visits for someone to figure out how to sign me up for a membership. Then I later found out they signed me up for the wrong type of membership that was nearly twice as expensive. I’ve now been trying to cancel my membership for two months and the staff either won’t do it or is too incompetent to figure it out. I’ve tried talking to people in person several times and that hasn’t gone anywhere. I’ve submitted requests online that yielded nothing. And now I’m trying to call management directly but I get sent to voicemail.

This place is a joke! Parking is supposed to be free on the weekends. Yet the incompetent staff has frequent difficulty putting the right validation sticker on your parking ticket! Then you have to wait for the building's security guards to come down and let you out of the parking garage because the exit machine tries to charge you money and there are no parking lot attendants on duty! Find yourself a YMCA that is manned by trained monkeys instead! Because even that would very likely be less of a hassle!

The parking was a little confusing. I couldn't figure out which entrance to go in. But the YMCA was very disappointing. On my 2nd visit in the pool area, there were people sitting around the pool on their cellphones. I rember seeing posted signs, "no cellphones". I also saw one person walk in the pool area fully clothed including shoes. He went straight into the steam room. That was TOTALLY unsanitary! The posted signs in the pool area specially mentioned NO Street Clothes allowed in pool area. I also saw other violations. And the pool opened 15 minutes late and closed 45 minutes later. The patrons were very upset and vocal about it. I'm looking for another YMCA.

This is a good facility. Very clean. Group rooms are open when not in use. The parking deck is a big issue. You're not covered if your leave time is over two hours from your parking time. They don't tell you that when you check in. I had to wait 30 minutes because they kept changing the time for the pool reopening. That 30 minutes put me over my two hours and I had to pay $14 just to park in the parking deck.

I've been a member of the YMCA for many years. I even continued paying my dues during the shutdown to support them. I returned today to work on getting back into shape, completed a tough cardio workout on the bike and the second I stepped off the bike the manager comes out of nowhere to tell me to put my mask over my face. I told him "I can't breath, I just got off the bike. If I put a mask on now ill pass out. Give me a minute to catch my breath." He said you have to put a mask on even when you're out of breath. You just need to "not push yourself so hard for a while." Are you kidding me! Goodbye Y. Canceled my long time membership immediately.
