This facility does not provide adequate training for children. The coaching staff consists primarily of teenagers, many as young as 14β15 years old, who function more like babysitters than trained instructors. When I questioned the director about how such young individuals could be considered certified coaches, I was told, βAll of our coaches are 14β15 years old, and if you donβt like it, then you can withdraw your children.β
From my experience, the program lacks proper structure, skill development, and professional guidance. It raises serious concerns about both the quality of instruction and the appropriateness of employing underage staff in coaching roles. I also question whether it is compliant with labor and safety regulations in Ohio to allow minors to serve in these positions.

I took my 7 and 9 year old to open gym tonight and there were two girls much older than everyone else Iβd guess 14. These girls smacked my 7 year old in the back and cut my 9 year old off every activity. They saw my kids walk away and come tell me and told my 7 year old we know you told your mom your losers. I told the girl working and she stated theyβve had these problems with these girls in the past and they are hard to talk to because they keep doing this. I liked the facility but do not feel my kids are safe here unfortunately because they wanted to join as regulars. Please watch leaving your kids here and not staying to watch as many parents did.if these are your kids at the 1/13/24 open gym please address their treatment to these young girls.

Seems the staff and instruction is good at this facility, but don't expect much help if you have billing issues.

I enrolled my granddaughter in August of 2021 for her birthday! It has been absolutely the best birthday gift ever. I have custody of my granddaughters. My oldest absolutely loves going and her teacher Miss Mac is so great with the all the girls. She's an incredible coach and my granddaughter really likes her. I do believe a good coach makes a big difference. Gymnastics day is our favorite day of the week!

This is the second Gymnastics academy I have been through between both of my girls. This review isn't about the first one, so I won't go into much detail about it. However, based on my experience with the first one that my oldest attended, I had no idea what real gymnastics actually was. Until we got here. I was so impressed I even called their grandmother and said, "No, no this is a *real* gymnastics academy, the instructors are actual gymnasts here!" haha! I was seriously that impressed. As a parent, I have never felt that my child was in any kind of danger, or that she wasn't being properly supervised. They keep the child/instructor ratio pretty tight knit and smaller. My youngest did join gymnastics at a later age than most, so she was in class with younger girls, at times she felt the young ones got more attention but only because they are little and have shorter attention spans and needed more correction. That isn't a big deal, she still learns and builds skill. One day she will be in a class with kids around her own age ;)
The instructors here I have seen are a mix of fun/silly, and stricter. The stricter ones however look to be coaching the older higher level girls, so honestly, that's expected. They do compete here. My own childs instructors have been nothing but kind to her, patient, thorough, and overall amazing. She has severe social anxiety and almost didn't even go into the gym on the first class but once she did, it was her instructors that helped her feel confident pretty fast. Now, she can't get enough of it and can't wait for class days. She has learned *so* much since being here, starting off with no gymnastics experience, to being a level 2 little gymnast doing things even she didn't think she could do. I am so proud of her, *and* the staff at Performance! Thank you!
P.S.
The gym is always clean, but you may have to wait for a seat until one of the other classes let out, so if you have trouble standing just keep that in mind, but seats do open up quickly once a class lets out.

My daughter has been in the Grasshopper class for almost a year and we cannot rate Ms Tyra highly enough. She tends to all of her students with such care and attention. We canβt wait to start tumbling and move up to level 1 Gymnastics. Performance gymnastics will be a lifelong experience for your children if you decide to join.

We recently had to move from Performance Gymnastics to San Antonio TX (Air Force) and I wanted to write this review so they knew how much we missed Performance Gymnastics.
Perfomance Gymnastics did so much for my gymnast. Coming to Ohio was not an easy move from our previous Air Force Base in Germany. They not only helped her confidence and passion for gymnastics I saw first hand there knowledge and ability to coach my gymnast. She started year one at a level 3 and made it to level 7 in 3 years and with success on the podium.
If you are looking for a place for a new gymnast or an accomplished gymnast in Dayton, start with Performance Gymnastics.

Full disclosureβwe were there for a trial class today so this is my review based on our first experience. No staff at the front desk to greet us and it smelled so awful. Other than the smell the facility looked really clean and I loved the huge viewing area. You could see the whole gym from anywhere in the lobby! We went into class and there was a clear zoo animal theme in the parent-child sectionβstuffed animals and balloons everywhere. I couldnβt catch the teacherβs name but I loved how she used the animal balloons to help the kids stretch; really clever. I wish she would have been able to show more of the skills during the circuitsβI had trouble remembering what we were supposed to be doing. I was also frustrated by the defined circuits but only because it seemed like my son just wasnβt interested in following it π The teacher was really friendly but of course, my sonβs favorite part was jumping in the foam pit. I liked the ending song and the stamps and the coloring page. Once the class was over though it seemed that the front desk person still wasnβt there. Overall I thought the class was okay and facility looked nice but I could not deal with the smell of the gym.

I was interested in trying out this facility as its close. I called ahead to schedule a trial class. I was told to come in at 10 am. I arrive 10 min early to fill out necessary paperwork only to find the lady at the desk has no clue what I'm talking about. The lady on the phone never signed me up for the 10 am class because there is no 10 am class. She said I could try the 1030 class since I was here and my daughter was excited. We waited 40 extra min (while with a young toddler) to finally get in the class. I was told 45 min which later learned it's an hour. My young toddler can't wait 1.5 hours but we did anyway. They got started stretching everything seemed fine until they got to the stations. I jumped out of my seat several times about to have a panic attack thinking my daughter is going to break her neck or wrist. They had a station where the kids had to forward roll over a big rolling mat but there was no staff to assist the kids and she's 4. I literally almost went in there myself to assist. Sadly one little girl did end up getting a sprained wrist from the station that I deemed unsafe. They gave her an uce pack. She was also doing a trial. After the hour long class the instructor knowing we were here for a trial didn't make any time for me by talking or discussing how my daughter did only to say she doesn't know how to stay in line. That's it. Nothing positive or even asking what we thought or how she liked it just left us. I felt that was very rude considering we waited 40 extra minutes for the class and we were a trial. Most business want customers so they make time for them. Anyway my daughter ended up not enjoying it anyway so it made for an easy decision of no. I just wish they would've made time for potential customers, treat them better by apologizing for their mistake, and being kind and excited for newcomers.

I did like this place but now I have change my mind. This place does not tech the kids that good they do not tell you how your kids are doing each week or even then hole month. This will be her last month and going to a better place she can get her training she needs. Iβm not paying $73 for nothing.

My daughter used to attend this gym, but we unfortunately had to move (family move to Virginia). Performance is a fantastic facility. Great equipment and layout. The coaches are BEYOND amazing. The owner/Head Coach has experience beyond reproach. She was a collegiate gymnast at one of the top programs in the NCAA. Sheβs coached at an elite gym and has made Performance her pride and joy. You wonβt find a coach that cares more or works harder for her gymnasts. Whether you are looking for a gym for recreation classes or interested in competition team, PGA is the best!! The entire staff is amazing!! My daughter tried several other gyms in the area and none of them compared to PGA!!

This place is great. My only complaint is that they don't teach boys (outside of preschool and tumbling.) My son was in gymnastics with his twin sister before we moved to Ohio and if he decides to restart, we'll have to find a new place. My daughters, however, love this place and their coaches.
