“Rules for thee, but not for me.”

I appreciate that Matt and Bri dealt with a situation whereby a member was loudly yapping on his cell phone, while tying-up equipment for an extended period of time, and disturbing other members with his obnoxious call. (It never ceases to amaze me how so many people don’t believe that the rules apply to them, but that the rules only apply to everyone else.)

I also appreciate JT, who did a great job greeting me when I came in and making me feel like a valued member.

All three employees were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. They are outstanding ambassadors for the Planet Fitness brand, and I hope management recognizes them! Kudos to all three for a job very well done!

I have been coming here for years. The staff is courteous and the place is always clean. They’re a stickler for that. They just upgraded their equipment, which is great. They keep their machines well maintained. If you ever see an “Out of order” sign on one, it’s never there long.
The only drawback is they don’t believe in having the heat on when it gets cold out. I understand the workout area needs to remain cool, but the locker room doesn’t. The PF in Montrose is the only one that keeps their locker rooms cold. It sucks when you have to change and when you have to take a shower. I’ve been to 5 others in the area and this is the only one that can’t be bothered to turn on their heat.

I used my black card membership here after a 20 minute drive. While I was warming up with 225 on smith incline bench, I was asked to leave because I had crocs on. I said I’m not using any cardio equipment there’s no issue. He then judged me for wearing a sleeveless shirt. This is a soft and judgmental environment. Springside athletic club is just down the street.

I’ve been coming to this Planet Fitness for about four years, rotating between locations around Akron for my workouts. This gym is a bit larger, so it gets more foot traffic, but the staff keeps everything clean and well-maintained. Everyone here is friendly, and the equipment is in great shape. My only complaint is that most treadmills lack quick speed controls—only two have them—which makes interval running less convenient. Still, this location gets five stars from me.

Arrived last night on a Saturday at 6:50 PM and was told it closes at 7 PM ! Really? Closes at 7 PM Sunday too. This was not a holiday weekend. The gym was full when I arrived so obviously they were going to kick everyone out in 10 minutes. How is this franchise allowed to have such limited hours? I assume you have to abide by certain hours to be a PF location? I expect PF to be open until 9 PM . Its 2025 guys, were not in Covid mode! Called Medina location after and they were open until 10PM . Ridiculous

Great Club with Superb Staff who are friendly, conscientious and kind! Something needs to be done about members who ignore rules on the equipment in the 30-Minute Workout Area. This is a Superior Circuit Training Workout that has been engineered with precision for the Human Body. When these errant members interfere by not honoring the process, they break the workout. One's pulse rate drops. More so, it is offensive to continually educate them that this area is indeed reserved for those actually doing the 30-Minute Regiment. I have some low-cost and effective ideas on how to slow, if not completely stop this interference from this superb Planet Fitness Patented Product. Recently, the staff has stepped up using the Lunk Alert to stop other members from dropping weights. This is PLUS and should be continued. Overall, Planet fitness has a lot to offer and is priced in a sweet spot that makes good fitness very affordable. Thank you!

The manager is an impressive young man! When he heard there was a terrible snow storm on the way, He (I think his name is Garrett) told me he stayed in a hotel close by just so he could be sure and be there to open up in the morning. The roads were in horrible shape, but he was there doing his job! So impressed with the customer service from this young man!

I’ve worked out consistently in 5 PF facilities in the past 3 years. These have been in Michigan and Ohio because of work, retirement and moving to a new state. Copley PF is great. It’s smaller than most I’ve been able to work out in but it lacks nothing. The staff is wonderful, friendly and always cleaning the ‘machines’. I never shower but the locker room/restroom is clean. I don’t know what else I can say. YES I enjoy belonging to Copley’s PF.

It is a Clean, Healthy and Fun place to work out. The Club has ALL the equipment I need and plenty of multiple copies of it except 1 (which is never really busy). The Staff is first rate. They are friendly, knowledgeable and most of all, kind.

I like the fact that I can use my Black Card Membership in other cities when I travel.

I would like them to keep the 30 Minute Workout Circuit Training area free from people coming in just for a machine or 2 as they do not read well and haven't figured out that it is reserved for folks doing the Express 30 Minute Workout.

The 30 Minute Workout is a fantastic Circuit Training Drill that provides one with an exceptional workout. Those who come in come in and not follow the Red Light/Green Light Rules really interrupt the Workout. This needs to be policed better.

Rude desk people. Will harass you if you are a bigger person and someone around you drops a weight on floor (discrimination). Upon trying to cancel my membership after repeated issues with rude/stalky/prejudice staff, the staff member on the phone cancelled my membership and told me all was taken care of for both mine and my Ol' Lady's memerships. Months later it turns out they were still charging her account monthly despite verifying that the accounts were canceled via phone. When we went into confront management they told us they don't do cancellations over the phone and that was our problem. They would not meet us halfway, would not explain why the employee said our accounts were canceled over the phone, and when I confronted them and said my account was canceled correctly why was my girlfriend's account not canceled when I requested both we were informed that they never do cancellations over the phone and that neither of our accounts should have been canceled that day when I called in and that the staff member should have told us we had to come in person, which they never did they said that it was taken care of. To this day we have not received a refund for the charges that happened after cancellation. To my knowledge the staff still does not give a care. Absolute toxic environment, unprofessional staff, terrible business model. I'm sure this can be a great place for many people it is clean and there is plenty of machine based equipment for beginners, but if you have any hope of pursuing actual Fitness or being treated like a human being for pursuing actual health and fitness this is not the gym for you, this really isn't the gym for anybody to be honest don't support these criminals.

Needs better hours. Hate that this place closes at 7 p.m. on a Saturday. Who does that?! I work until 8 p.m. so I miss every Saturday. I understand places closing early on Sundays but 7 p.m. on a Saturday night is ridiculous. We just end up having to drive to Wadsworth because thank heck that location is open 24/7. I love this Planet fitness! I usually come before work @5 am and I’m not exactly what happened this morning but many others people and I waited outside for almost an hour waiting to see when they’d open, though all the lights inside were off and doors were locked. I left at 6am and still they were closed. Kinda a bummer I had driven out here and spent more time waiting especially since i look forward to going to the gym in the morning. Not sure maybe it was a fluke or accident!

Planet fitness lies in their advertisement that it is easy to cancel when it’s quite the contrary! The app does not allow you to cancel, nor email. You are told that you have to go in to cancel even after moving to another city. Then after I went in and complained they emailed me and said that I could have sent a certified letter. This is jumping through hoops in my opinion as an e-mail from my email on file is what I would consider to be easy.

The gym equipment is not clean, especially the treadmill where I wanted to place my iPhone and water bottle.
Also, the patrons do not wipe the machines behind themselves.

I was not impressed, but this is what you get for $10 a month. Wish wish that’s all I had paid!

And be careful when you go in to cancel, they will sign the agreement for you. I have an email stating that I must cancel in person and no mail option was given.

LOVE Planet Fitness! I have been to about a dozen clubs and this one is pretty good. I just moved from Pennsylvania to Akron and this one is on my way to work; pretty convenient.

I have one ask, though. Please, PLEASE get one of those abdominal crunch machines that you sit on and your lower half comes up at the same time your top half comes down. If you've never tried this type of crunch machine - - YOU SHOULD! - - It is literally life-changing!

I am choosing my new club based on this machine alone and I can't find a single club in the area that has it (although almost all in PA had it.)

Terrible gym. I went in the “30 minute workout” area to use the hamstring curl machine. No other humans were in the area and a staff member explained I was not allowed to be on that machine and the area was reserved only for 30 minute express workouts. My husband had his sweatshirt next to him in the gym and the staff member said he was not allowed to have it there and needed to put it in a locker. Will never return to this joke of a gym.
