All Planet Fitness locations are supposed to have a trainer available on site.There website states: "Our certified fitness trainers will show you around the gym and provide instruction on our huge selection of cardio and strength machines. Our gym trainers also facilitate a wide variety of small group training sessions and are available to design an exercise program to help you meet your goals and get the most out of your workouts."

The problem is, they DON'T have certified trainers at each location nor are there any answers when i ask about this other than, "watch our videos" or "We haven't been able to find a trainer". Neither of these is acceptable. Don't get me wrong, the staff tries to help, and they do help but it's not their job. It's the job of a trainer. Even simple questions for a trainer can't be answered and it is very frustrating. The whole reason for picking a gym is the services and equipment and location offered. I'm allowed to rely on what the website says is available, and the business is obligated to provide what they claim OR they are free to change the info on the website to reflect accurate services. They do neither. They also advertise the "30 Minute Workout" but it isn't available either.

When I try to get answers from corporate, they respond in customer service speak which tells me in a very nice way that it's my problem and my responsibility to go talk to the manager at the store and then they wash their hands of the situation. Total bunk. Somebody should do their job.

wish i could give 5 star review. Hospitality is really good, but as a beginner it's nothing for me to go to the gym without an trainer.
i paid for everything, and they have no personal trainer, it’s been a month I’m going to this gym they always say WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TRAINER.

Great gym and i want to rejoin but it’s so packed that i would have to wait for every machine. My 50 min workout would end up being an hour and a half or more. People sitting on machines on their phones in between sets. I loved it there but as big as canton is, i don’t understand why they only have ONE location.

Every free weights or machines you could ever want. Facility is as clean as a hospital. But what really sets this gym apart from all the others is the staff there. Everyone is treated like royalty there. Someone greets you coming in and thanks you and wishes you a good day when you leave. I wish I never joined this place. I was desperate for a gym while visiting family over a year and a half ago. I canceled my writing membership multiple times as I do not reside in Ohio. I live in California.

Yet, when I called to inquire about the monthly charges, the staff told me to send an email, which I have sent several times. The manager, "Jason" tells me just now after a year I need to send the notice via the mail and that email isn't good enough. He unprofessionally told me it is in my contract several times even though email isn't considered in writing for him.

Super shady, slimy business practices. Their unprofessional staff has been lying to me for over a year about the email notification to milk me for the lousy fees. I had to get stern with the "manager" to get him to tell me the truth about their written notification policy, which is again against most modern-day business practices.

I knew I was in the middle of nowhere but in the digital age most businesses accept email notification as "in writing". Kind of ironic since they have a member app for check -ins and upgrades, but do not accept email notifications. Way to game the system to make that $10.65 a month.

I am contacting the Corporate Office and the Better Business Bureau since its well over $100+ in fees now.

AVOID THIS PLACE. It's a scam.

The gym has the worst fitness equipment I have ever seen. I was just desperate for a treadmill. Definitely not worth the money. Drive to Canton or go to YMCA.

It is so nice to walk into a facility and have everyone say hello, or greet you in one way or another! Jason, the Assistant Manager, always remembers my name and it makes it way less awkward walking into a gym. I'm definitely not as young as I used to be, and going to the gym is much harder now, but the PF in Alliance always makes you feel welcome! My wife is a Black Card member as well, and when we work out together we prefer to come to Alliance even though the North Canton PF is closer to her work. I tell everyone who is trying to have a healthier lifestyle that they need to look at Planet Fitness...the equipment is ALWAYS clean, the facilities are very well maintained, and it's actually refreshing to meet such kind and welcoming staff. Believe me, people my age definitely appreciate all of you!

We just went there recently. Use to go to one in canton by beldon village. They were doing construction. So we went to alliance. We like it better. They have way more machines. I love how they have them organized. It's easy to follow along to all the different machine. Machines that were the same were side by side. Diffently a good place to go to.

Out of 6 PFs I've visited the staff here are very pleasant. When something breaks they give a realistic expectation of up time. And the restrooms and showers are actually clean. I literally see PF staff cleaning while I am visiting. Im said to say that is not my experience at other gyms both in this chain and outside. Its worth my Black Card Membership just for the massages.

I was only there once to sign up..
I've used this place twice they're tanning beds are broken the bulbs are all burnt out there's only a few massage chairs and beds..
I've been to many planet fitness.
This is the worst one yet.
I canceled.. I just received documents via email. The deceitful employee put the reason I canceled is insufficient use..

This is a great location! The 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. crowd was really awesome! Great Energy! People of every shape and size and age and background all getting along - it was a beautiful thing.

However, they do need to update some things that many other planet fitnesses already have:

1. Larger giant rubber balls
2. Foam rollers
3. MUST have a TRX/360/Calisthenics area
4. Need a calf machine
5. Newer laydown bed(s)
4. More mirrors

Hard to even get in. Staff seems to be disconnected with the technology. Offered to pay the daily rate for myself and my 2 sons (this is not my home gym and I have a classic membership) took 20 - 30 min and still did not get in wants us to download the app, well that didn’t do it now have to take pics and type our life stories into computer well that didn’t do it just take the money and let us work out!!! Never been to any gym that was this hard to do business with.

I’m rating PF overall as a company not just alliance. The company is terrible for stopping a membership. Haven’t been there in 9 months and they still charge for black card price every month even after I’ve said to STOP MEMBERSHIP. They don’t listen and think it’s cool to just keep charging my bank. I go to tan more than anything. I pay for the black card, which is full access. I don't think you could buy a tanning package for daily use that cheap. They have massage chairs and stand and lay down beds. Oh... and physical fitness stuff as well, lol.

The large choice of equipment along with the amount of machines makes for a short wait time if any. I went here to join. They have good prices. I was getting a tour, and I commented that I didn't see any foam rollers, but no problem, I have my own. I was told they have a rule that you can't bring any of your own equipment. I've brought my foam roller to many gyms, never a problem. So I asked if I could just write a check for 6 months, and I was told they only accept direct payment from my bank. I read their rules, and I see a rule "no grunting". I walked in with my checkbook, but they talked me out of joining. I'm glad, because I found Concord Therapy, which is a wonderful gym, see my review. They'll give you a tour.

I can't just give them access to my checking account. I sometimes have over 100k in my checking account, and I don't know what foreign company handles their data processing. So I opened a new checking account just to join this gym. Then, while trying to join, I'm told I have to ALSO provide a credit card. Why? They said in case my checking account doesn't work. I don't know how a company that makes it SO difficult to do business can prosper. I also asked how I could quit, and they said I could come in person, or I could send a certified letter. There is no legitimate reason for all this nonsense.

Great place to work your body! They have virtually every machine to work every muscle you could want to improve! However, they boast of being a "judgment free zone", and "no lunks", but there are TONS of lunkheads there that make a lot of noise while working out, and then IMMEDIATELY look in all directions to see who was admiring them the most 🙄.....just look over at the free weights section and you'll see them.....always prepared to send a sneer at the lesser man working out next to them that didn't AT LEAST use half of the weights they did.....🤨🤨🤨

I've only got a tour so far. I had some unexpected expenses come up and couldn't get a membership but I'm going to in August, 2022. So far from what I know they're great and I would highly recommend this establishment. Tus,he atmosphere was nice, the staff was awesome, and the price is fabulous. It's like 10.00 a month for the standard membership and something like 23.00 for the black card membership. They have tanning and massage chairs, however, u have to b a black card member to use those luxuries. I gott tell ya though, a black card membership is cheaper than going to a tanning salon. Plus, u don't have to pay the usage charge. In other words, u can save money by becoming a Planet Fitness black card member.

When I make myself workout I feel comfortable as soon as I walk in the door at Planet fitness. It’s just getting to that point of overcoming my anxiety, and remembering how good I feel when I leave. My only complaint I would say is how hot tanning beds 2 and 3 are. Those beds will burn your buns off lol thankfully I usually have a small towel in my bag to lay on when the bed gets to 3-4 minutes left in my time. In the meantime I do get a really good tan from all the beds.

My son signed up for a membership for all locations due to being in active military service. He has a free gym at his post and no longer needed this membership, but even after sending two letters and a phone call to his home gym, they had not cancelled his membership. Not until I called saying I was his power of attorney in his absence and demanded that they cancel the membership, did they make a movement to do so. I know these places bank on people starting memberships and continuing to pay, but to require a certified letter to cancel a gym membership? That is just egregious!
