This is the most well equipped Planet Fitness I have ever been to, and I've been to 30+ locations this year. They have 4 squat racks, 3 Olympic lifting pads with bumper plates, and 7 Smith Machines. I've been to locations that just have 3 Smith machines. The treadmills are all up to date as well. Everything is clean too. I saw one staff member actively cleaning the entire time I was there. Great location, i wish i lived here.

Great location. Semi truck parking in the lot behind the building. There is a square of parking to the north, go there. DO NOT go into the lot where cars are parked. Too many medians and no truck signs everywhere. Behind the buildings is fine. Easy in and out.

Enter from Fitch BLVD or Next to movie theater, and go around the buildings! Don’t go thru the front plaza, you won’t have a good time.

This gym is a joke I used to love going here anymore. It is poorly ran. It’s been several times I go in just wanting to tan and I can’t because their Wi-Fi is down or somethings not working. It’s just always something. They just have new people that don’t know what they are doing they need better training. Would have been nice, prior to becoming a member, to know that they are no longer 24/7. On my first day in, asked the guy at the desk ( don’t know his name) if there was any kind of cut of time for the spa amenities on the evenings they close early. He went through the hours and all was good. I went in tonight and signed in for the hydro massage for 6:15 which is only for 10 minutes and tanning after. The computer allowed me to schedule both. After the massage (6:25ish) I went back to the counter to see what bed I would be in and the blonde girl behind the counter was so so rude! She abruptly said “spas closed!” I explained that I was already signed in and scheduled but she wasn’t hearing it. If it was policy or posted somewhere that it closed early, ok. But my real issue is that she treats customers like they are invading and unwelcome. Can someone clarify if there is a cut off and if so, post it and update and correct the computer so it doesn’t allow late sign in

It’s the better of the three in the area however I’m not a big fan of the hours however does have other redeeming qualities and the staff had more than make up for the shortcomings. My only big complaint is the amount of judgmental boomers. It’s not even the young bodybuilder or strength guys it’s specifically 40 to 50-year-old boomers who just eye you up and down for no reason at all, and stare at you while they’re walking by you using equipment. For planet fitness is motto and their core values of what they advertise it just kind of seems out of place but it’s the only decent gym in the area so I’ll give it that

This gym used to be a place where I could relax, unwind, and relieve stress from my day to day life. Only to find out some of the staff has been actively bullying and harassing a coworker there/friend of mine as well as making disgusting remarks about myself to others. I've been a black card member for over 7 years now. With this news I'll be definitely canceling and alerting management and/or owners of the way their staff has been acting towards paying customers.

The gym is always clean and welcoming, but adding this updated equipment has been a game-changer for my workouts. It’s great to have more variety and quality options for strength training.

I can't stand the new set up. They got rid of the yellow room which had more weight machines in it. It was convenient if the other machines were all being used you can always go in the yellow room and those machines. The hip abduction machines were taken out and now replaced with ONE machine that targets two areas. This means that ppl will be on it longer. That means since there's only one machine like that in the whole place you're going to be lucky to get on it at all. There use to ne 4 of those machines and they were full before. It doesn't make sense.

A feeling of frustration with the expanded new equipment work out area for the weightlifters who are very sparse during the early afternoon. Our area community is almost 60% of the over 55 age group. My wife and I now have to now search for the reduced number of resistance stations which used to be more plentiful with no waiting! Very tired of the afternoon crew of younger workout people who tie up equipment while chatting on their phones or with other millennials. I waste too much time walking around and seeking out all the rearranged equipment, only to find a line of older members like myself waiting to use the reduced sections of equipment. I have had 2 shoulder and 1 knee replacement surgeries, so I love to use the same equipment that I used in rehab. I wish your limited cable tv channels would feature more sports like baseball and basketball with the MLB, NFL, and NBA network channels that feature our pro and college teams in NE Ohio. My wife and I are very disappointed with the limited equipment we liked that are eliminated, reduced in number or broken down! What happened to all the hip abduction machines!? I am tired of taking a number waiting for equipment that has been deemed unnecessary in order to satisfy your small number of body builders! Your plan to chase existing customers to the new Austintown Athletic Center is working to perfection!

Austintown PF is my least fav of the 10 I've been to. Apparently not managed well (could be owner, idk) and the remodeling needs completed. (Stations out of paper towels, cable machines need fixed, small tight free weight area, not enough weight machines, etc)

My experience with an Akron area PF was that the staff was always cleaning, sweeping and keeping up with maintenance. Two years ago I moved to Mahoning county and have been attending the Austintown PF. This month of July 2024 I noticed the machines I work out on are coated with a build up of dust. The machines are noisy when in motion. I expected better from this location since others I have been to are clean and well kept.

I’m writing this to honor one of the best managers Planet Fitness has ever had. I have seen them come and go but nothing compares to how hard working and genuine Carl is. I can not put into words how much Carl is something planet fitness needs to appreciate, people like Carl are hard to come by. Being a customer for 10 plus years and spending time at each PF in the area the Austintown location has always been my top tier PF because of him. It feels like home there. I live in boardman and drive to Austintown just because of how it’s ran there. It’s so welcoming and the real definition of “judgement Free”. I went to the PF in Nile’s where Carl first started 6 years ago. What he does for his team as a leader is something every management team needs to practice. Not only does his team respect him but they care for him just as he cares for them. He would never allow his team to feel he’s better then them and allows his team to feel comfortable enough to call him a friend and in return they respect him.This location wouldn’t be the same without him,truly. He gets to know his customers on a level that goes beyond a “managment” position. Owning my own business id be lucky enough in my time to find half a man carl is working for me.

It is not like me to write a review, but I had to go out of my way to pay Carl the honor he deserves. We thank you as customers.

I have been coming here for 3 yrs. Equipment is fine. Biggest complaint hrs have bot gone back regardless of the price I've been paying. As well as in the summer it's extremely hott feels like there isn't even any air on,even worse when it's crowded. I do not have this problem visiting other planet fitnesses.

Wish they had a little more selections with machines...planet fitness if you see this, lateral shoulder raises machine, hack squats machine, glue raise( or a free straight bar, absolutely hate using Smith machine for glute excercises)

What's not to love about Planet Fitness... especially the one in Austintown? It has everything I need to work out, massage chairs, hydro-beds, tanning beds, and locker rooms w/showers...2 people for $25. Everything is always very clean and the people are very friendly. Yes, it can be crowded at certain times but the turn- over rate on machines goes so quickly...it doesn't matter. I've belonged to a few gyms and I like this one the best. Dollar for dollar you can't beat it.
