Being a PF club member out of a neighborhoring location on and off these last few years, I must say that the recent remodel of the Avon location is phenomenal. Definitely an improvement from some of the old, broken a d outdated equipment that they had. Avon is my only other preference out of Elyria and Lorain. Elyria is my home club, and I absolutely can't stand the lorain location for various and personal reasons. The only thing bad is that the water dispenser is always warm and needs maintenanced.

This location got an unfortunate remodel. Mostly new equipment, but the whole set up is a downgrade with machines awkwardly positioned and TVs 50 feet away from the cardio machines. This went from being the best PF location to being average. Kind of a bummer.

I love working out here. It has a comfortable atmosphere. You don't get those judgemental stares. It's clean. Depending on your workout hours, it's roomy enough for it to not feel too full. The floor managers are always kind and helpful

Can you change your dress code policy. First of all I see too many people wearing bra and short shorts touching the equipment. They walk around without towels . Since they are not wearing anything to cover their skin the sweat is splattered all over. Also i see men walking with ring worms and other skin fungi touch the equipment. Very unsanitary and unsafe. Or at least provide clorax bleach wipes and gloves for the rest of us. Also tell the men to tone it it down on the colonge and perfumes. Also the headscarves are destroying the equipment. These lady let their head scarves drop and destroy the treadmill and they never tell the staff. And half of these people don't know or bother to read instructions on how to use the equipment and they destroy it.

I live full time in a skoolie while traveling the country, planet fitness is my go to for a long hot steamy shower that isn’t limited by my tank size and fuel levels. This review is my personal comparison having been to tons of other planet fitness locations and based entirely on the quality of the locker room and shower facilities.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but in this case recognition is due.

This is easily top two if not the best location I have visited in the last year (now out of hundreds). It’s got the A list trim package but is also sparking clean inside. It’s obvious the crew here cares about the location. Good job guys!

It was definitely bigger than I expected. I visited and noticed that some of the treadmills were broken, which was a little annoying since you had to wait for someone to get off. But I still managed to get a pretty decent workout in! I’ll definitely visit again soon — the staff was really friendly.

The gym is nice and the staff are friendly. With that said my 2 star review is because more than half of the step machines are always broken and have been for over a year. I was told they were being replaced in June and it's mid July and still only 3 working step machines.

The location and hours are nice but the equipment is broken half the time, the elevator has been down for a while resulting in the entire second floor being closed due to fire code, and the employee said "uhh yeah it's broke" when I inquired about when it would be fixed. Even when something like a treadmill or elliptical or weight machine is broken, it's weeks before it's fixed.

I do wish the Saturday/Sunday hours went a bit later.

This is one of the better ones. Huge place. Set up so you're not waiting for anything, or bumping each other. Place was clean, but all the ones I've been to so far have been cleaner than most of the local gyms. staff is great, the Tshirts at this location are only 10 dollars.

Would be five stars, but it takes forever for equipment to get fixed. There’s been equipment labeled out of order for about a month now. Shouldn’t take that long to get things fixed. I’ve been to other PF’s and it takes a fraction of the time for stuff to get fixed.

Update: now with the elevator out the whole second floor is closed off. How do you let something go so long that now the fire marshal shuts down half your building? Another reason management needs to move quicker to get things fixed

The elevator has been broken for a month and 2 weeks ago the fire Marshall came in a closed the second floor down. Does it really take a month to fix and elevator? Or is this just a cheep owner going with the lowest bidder so they wait for the service with ZERO regard for their paying customers..... probably should have gotten that fixed when it broke cause NOW you have the same amount of people going in and ONLY half the space and equipment to use. And since all these people have been pounding on the same equipment for the last 2 weeks about a quarter of the treadmills are broken. I've been going to the Avon location for almost 4 years. Great location. Sure, it gets busy at 5pm, but that's expected for a commercial gym. I've never had an issue finding an open treadmill or elliptical. The popular free weight sizes can be difficult to grab sometimes, use that time to knock out some pushups, planks, or wall sits. Sign up and keep coming back. You'll reach you goal.

This is by far the nicest PF I have been in, and fortunately, it is my home gym! That said, there are a couple things I would like to suggest. Not to be THAT guy, but maybe some more signs telling people to wipe down the equipment would be a good start, as there are several slobs who do not do so. Also, a no camera phone usage in the locker rooms policy would be great! I hate when the young posers are flexing and taking pics while people are using the locker rooms. Otherwise, great job, PF! The staff is fantastic, the equipment is great! (Maybe another Ab Crunch machine or two upstairs though, as I always have to wait around for the one you have.)

I have been to this Planet Fitness almost everyday since Nov/Dec. Everyday the stair masters are “temporarily out of order.” The stair masters also have a sign that says “We are working quickly to resolve the issue. “ This is an ongoing problem that doesn’t appear will ever be fixed. It seems like they put the sign on the machine, as opposed to fixing or removing the machine. There are some stair masters that work, the majority do not work. If you enjoy using the stair master, this definitely is not the gym for you.

This location is spot on with customer service and equipment availability.
I like that when you use the tanning beds, they have people who clean the beds and not rely on the customer to do it, because you know how people are.
The location I use in SC doesn't offer that service.....they can't even get people to work there and their beds are always out of service or the bulbs need to be changed. I think the SC location can take a few tips from the Avon location to make it better.

Staff tries but equipment in bad shape. So much is always broken and takes a very long while to fix. 2 of 4 Hydro Massage beds been broken for weeks and same popular weight machines been down for weeks with no progress (example pull-up / chin-up machine, leg extensions been down for long time). Torn up padding on bicep machine, broken Seats on pec machine, constant broken knobs. Pretty beat up and doesn't seem like any progress but will keep going because it's cheap. Get what you pay for I guess

Days they are not open 24/7 and you come in a hour before close to do a 9 minute bed to tan and try to do the red light which is 12 minutes max they will not let you even if it’s before they close with the 20 minute window they take the last tan. I have worked at tanning salons and I understand taking last person 20-30 minutes before close but to get rid of you before the 20-30 minutes is ridiculous. They close it 40 minutes before. This happens all the time and even if you are a min over let alone done by the time asked they refuse you. No salon in my experience does this mine as well go there. Multiple times the girl at the front desk with dark brown hair keeps putting the bed on for half the time asked for the entire time every time.

I love the location, spaciousness and equipment availability. I worked out on second floor. The paper towel machine was empty. I had to grab towels from the dirty bathroom. Edit: One year later. Not clean...several areas are caked with dust and dirt. PISS STAINS IN THE SAME SPOTS IN BATHROOMS. MENTIONED TO STAFF AND THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH TOO BAD. Look on the treadmill monitors on the second floor...nasty. Windows dirty. Locker room dirty. Cleaning is key in a gym.

No towels anymore for black members. Half the time the spray bottles are empty. I've mentioned these things to staff and nothing is done. The staff is super nice but I think they are stretched thin.

My biggest thing is cleanliness. The new lockers have dirt in them, need wiped out, windows and frames are dirty, floors and steps need swept and mopped. This is the nicest planet fitness I’ve been to. I take classes with the personal trainer, Noah, and I love it. Noah is very nice, knowledgeable about lots of different workouts and definitely challenges me! He is great at meeting each person where they are at and communicating what muscle groups different workouts target and how they pertain to the goals that one sets for themself. I’ve seen good gains with my muscle mass working with him and appreciate his help and guidance in me working towards my personal fitness goals! Thanks Noah!!! You’re awesome!!

I was highly disappointed tonight. I got a membership specifically for tanning. They said that they were staffed and open until 9pm. I like this location and it's a nice gym environment. The only downside is they close way to early on weekends, it's my off days and I am a nightshift person. I would at least like to have it open until 10pm. Another thing is they need to upgrade and update onto their new Smyth machine, as most planet fitness are getting it now days. This location is adequate for anyone on their fitness journey, I've been to better and been to worse. This is a new-ish building, but mostly older equipment and a few pieces were waiting on repairs. There was a lot of trash outside when I visited and the glass was very dirty (the reasons for the 3 star review).
Friendly staff, and as a truck driver they were accommodating to my needs. Room for MAYBE 3 semi trucks at a time.
I would visit again.

Great place to visit and get in a quick workout with the 30 min circuit training. Then on to treadmill for a couple of miles. In and out in less than 1 hour ... including travel (I only live 5 mins away).

Supposed to be a judgment free place yet the employees don’t know how to be decent to members who may not know something especially if you just started coming to the gym. Otherwise great place crowded at times

This location is fantastic! Always clean, the members are polite, usually no issues on equipment wait times. Love it here. 80 percent of the staff is friendly and engaging. The other 20 percent are not rude however could be more engaging at the front desk. Example smile, say hello or good-bye, look up from the cell phone ect. That’s my only suggestion.
