New to coming to BG Planet Fitness. My husband and I have been going during the week and it’s great, but the Saturday and Sunday have not been the best the last three times we have tried going. Online it says Saturday and Sunday you open at 6. One Saturday we got there at 6 and sat for 30 min and still was not open. The next Saturday we arrived at 7 and I asked the front desk what time you open and she said 6. Now this Sunday it says you open at 6 and got here at 7 have been sitting for another 20 minutes and still are not open. So please help me out and tell me what your actual hours are on the weekend.

Too. Many. Screens. I canceled my membership because all Planet Fitness locations seem to like to shove screens in your face with wall to wall flat screen TVs. Worst of all is that many of them are playing Fox news, CNN, MSNBC, CBS News, ABC News. Honestly, I don't go to the gym to watch the news, too much negative energy. Do better Planet Fitness and maybe I will come back someday.

This gym always has an unpleasant odor, particularly in the ladies locker room. It must not be well ventilated and it reeks of what I can only describe as dirty diapers. The bathroom counters are always soaking wet, and it’s not uncommon that paper towels throughout the gym, soap in bathrooms etc are not adequately stocked. I use other locations when possible.

I am so happy with my first time experience at the Bowling Green location! I went in to tan and wasn’t sure where the beds were or where the correct check-in computer was. Kendall and the other girl that was working with her (this was on 6/22/25 at about 12:00pm) were both super helpful and very nice! Great customer service, clean environment, and nice beds!

Overall 10/10 the workers are so hardworking it’s nice to see them sit down every once in a while, sometimes they deserve a break. They are quick and efficient always on their feet always super friendly and welcoming making the gym a nice and enjoyable environment and i like when the workers actually make conversation with the members and engage. GO TO THIS GYM NOW!!!!

They could have 5 stars if their employees weren't so rude! I can't tell you how many times I have signed up for a TIME SLOT to tan, and have gone up on time only to be told to wait 10+ minutes. Why am I picking a time if you guys aren't ensuring they will be open? Or perhaps offer us an open bed. Last time there were 4 other open beds, could have offered. Poor attitudes and lazy workers ruin this place. Also, if you close at a certain time lets stick to that! I have come on weekends an hour before close and they have shut down early. Ridiculous. If there were better options I would happily pick those over PF.

Since New manager 2 showers out in ladies locker room almost a month. 1 toilet in ladies locker room down a few weeks and now half the TV screens are not working oh and least of worries but tootsie rolls are always empty. To god damn small, very limited free weight area.

I went to this gym for 2 months and it was the worst experience I ever had in a gym all the employees are judgmental and the management sucks I got asked to leave because I was grunting and slamming weights when I don’t ever slam weights so I cancelled my membership and went to able body fitness by far a way better experience and environment and a better selection of weights quit wasting your money on planet fitness come to able

I was a member for a short time till all the employees started talking about another gym in the mall that was geared more towards my fitness level. I would get looked at funny and felt uncomfortable. The new gym I signed up at is very warm and welcoming to any level of fitness where your at.

Beware….. I watched twice and seen the workers hanging the tanning tag back up and not going to clean the stand up booths. They feel sweaty and gross when you stand on them and the rubber handles you hold up above feel gummy also. There is no sign like the other beds saying they clean it. So maybe they do not ever do it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I do not want to get a foot fungus 🤮.

Staff here is terrible. We travel for a living and go to many Planet Fitness’ across the country. The staff at this location told myself and my traveling partner they would not allow us to leave the location and go back to the car if one of us finished before the other person because one of us was a guest. What a ridiculous statement. Are you going to pull my guest mid shower out of the locker room and tell them to get out because I wanted to put my bag in the car? Or perhaps chase me into the parking lot as I go to put my bag in the car? This location needs to look into retraining their staff, because it’s operating like a circus currently. Facilities were fine otherwise.

Too crowded and very difficult to cancel your membership if you are deployed for months overseas or move away. You must cancel it in person or with a notarized letter. That way they keep charging you when it's not being used. What a joke!

The best in town! Member for life! They literally have the sweetest, most helpful staff! As a newbie to BG and Planet Fitness, they welcomed me with open arms, checked in with me, helped me with my fitness goals (ask about getting a personal training plan or set up a meeting for it), and made accommodations for me when i had medical concerns! I am a black card member, I always have a good experience here at this planet fitness in Bowling Green Ohio! A couple years ago I had some issues when trying to switch my home gym membership location due to moving to Tennessee and back in 2019, but this location helped me figure all that out when the store in Franklin Tennessee wasn't very helpful.

Nice facility BUT I used hydro bed 2. It stinks in this room. It has clearly been wet in here and not properly cleaned. I’m not getting on the floor to smell the rug next to me but I bet that’s the culprit. Staff wanted to tell me it’s sweat. I travel for a living and go to Planet Fitness all over the country. None of them smell like this. Everything else here is great.

FUTURE MEMBERS BEWARE: I became a member of Planet Fitness in April. I have been traveling back and forth to Europe so much that I only used the membership once. I had went down to the club in May to cancel and the gentlemen at the front desk pulled up my information and assured me he cancelled it. Fast forward to June 1st and I notice a $41 charge from Planet Fitness hit my checking account. I go back down to the club and a different rep, who was the assistant manager, officially cancelled my membership. They explained the $41 charge was the annual fee. I requested that be refunded back to me as I had only a member for a two months. Why would I pay an annual fee for something I am not going to be a member of for a year? The general manager, who was extremely rude and had an attitude, interjected and said "no refund will be given, It's in the contract you signed". Talk about poor customer service. Instead of being a Karen and making a scene, I bit my tongue and left. I went straight to my bank and filed a dispute; I'll let the bank handle them. I am more disappointed in the fact that the first time I went down there to cancel, my membership was not cancelled. The second time I actually received email confirmation with a cancellation form. I will not be rejoining, even though I was planning on it once my job cools it with the international travel. Planet Fitness will never receive another cent from me. Especially with how I was treated by management. A shame that they jump straight to hostility and not listen to the concerns of the customer.

I've been going a little over 3 months. It is what they advertise it to be. I don't feel judged by others. Most just do their thing and don't pay much attention to who is around them. When I started there went many people working out at a time. But mid January it got much busier. Now I usually go later at night cause I'm not a fan of crowds. Dirtiest Planet Fitness I've been in. I was breathing straight dust in the TRX/ab room. The ceiling fan and room was covered in dust. Majority of paper towel dispensers were empty. This gym gets a "Gold Thumb Down". You're better off driving a little further to the Maumee or Holland Gym.

Reasonable monthly membership pricing and they have a lot of cardio machines on the floor. I’ve never had to wait for a cardio machine which is great compared to other gyms I’ve gone to. If you’re into free weights and bench pressing, etc. they have a somewhat small selection available. It’s great they offer free free tanning beds and hydro massage beds (this is worth the price of the membership itself). The limited selection of free weights keep me from giving 5 stars, however, their machine and cardio options are 2nd to none which is what is most important to me. Friendly staff and the equipment is kept in good condition.

It's cheap. It's accessible and very casual. And unlike pretty much everything in BG, it's open 24/7, which is perfect for someone like me who has unusual hours while WFH.

EDIT: They cut the hours to 24/5, which really defeats the purpose of a brick and mortar gym. You might as well just buy a pass at the BG Rec Center. It's the same hours roughly and you get a pool and full track and sport suite.

EDIT: If I could take away the one star, I would. Sending the certified letter for cancellation 12 days before the next billing and having it arrive 5 days before billing results in me being billed for the following month. I could understand this more if it was day of, day before, but requiring 1/3 of a month notice (upon reception, not mailing) is extremely anti-consumer.

PLANET FITNESS IS ANTI-CONSUMER AT ITS CORE. THEIR GOAL IS TO GET YOU TO SIGN UP, AND THEN MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE INHOSPITABLE/INCONVENIENT WHEN IT COMES TO EXITING THE CONTRACT. THEY WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SQUEEZE AS MUCH AS THEY CAN FROM YOU. BE AWARE.

IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL ANY LESS THAN 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE THEY WILL BILL YOU FOR ANOTHER WHOLE MONTH.

It doesn’t matter if your account is on freeze due to COVID. It doesn’t matter if you e-signed your initial contract. Planet fitness will always double down on anti-consumer practices (like forcing you to either come in in-person to cancel or spend extra money and time by sending a certified letter).

Predatory anti-consumer business practices like this have no place in any business you would want to visit. Avoid Planet Fitness in favor of the nearest locally owned non-franchised gym. You will save yourself a headache in the long run. I guarantee it.

Today at around 4:50 or later I was at the planet fitness location in Bowing Green, Ohio. I like the gym and it’s very close to my home. As I am a high school student I walk because I don’t possess a driver license at the moment. The mask rules are EXTREMELY inconsistent and seem to ONLY apply to certain members of the gym at the Bowling Green location. To be honest, I’m not the richest of people and don’t have money on me because it’s usually spent on my needs (including my membership) and I don’t bring a debit or credit card to the gym for personal safety reasons. ANYWAY, I’m writing this review because I just experienced some BAD EMBARRASSMENT for not having money or having a debit card to pay for a $1.00 mask. IT WAS EMBARRASSING the way the ASSISTANT MANAGER treated me. The double standard of basically kicking me out the gym for having no debit card but NOT enforce the rules for people who DO NOT wear their masks. Loll. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

So my wife and I are not conferrable with returning to the gym presently. We cancelled our membership as soon as we saw the auto bill charges. The Manager of Planet Fitness wont return our membership monthly fee charged this month. We did not receive an email that they were opening. And you can't cancel unless they are open. They are sorry we did not get an email that they were opening. But I was told I should have been watching their facebook site to know they were going to be opening. I know others who didn't get the email too. Really disappointed in their "well sorry, too bad". Also appears they now have reduced hours, which i would also think voids the agreement... All I am saying is that you might want to look into a more customer friendly gym, as I know we will in the future.

Read and fight the fine print! Manager was supposed to put $$$$back in account as he admitted to the mistake....week and half latter still no money! Corporate says they are all individually owned/operated and take up with them. My contract was over and still not only taking out one months dues but going through prorating supposedly because of covid 19. Well that should have been addressed long ago not now and besides I authorized for a one year membership evidently they still keep charging after that year which they did Not have Any authorization to do. Now it’s a fiasco with the bank...smdh. Shame
So you would be better off going someplace else!

UPDATE.... The newer management (4+/- months) is tremendous! I still think free weights for dead lifting and bench press would be a huge improvement, and that PF's company motto is nonsense. The management here is what changed my mind about dropping my membership. Huge improvement in staff and feel of this location! I improved my rating from 3 stars to 4

Price is great, but I would prefer if they had real weight racks with squat bars instead of the machines that do all the work for you (balancing and no real challenge). Also, their motto is "judgement free zone", but I've been in there multiple times when someone accidentally knocks weights once, and they sound their 'Lunk Alarm', which alerts everyone to look around and find THE GUY who made a noise :0... What? Not sure if their motto fits their policies is what I'm sharing I guess?
