They tried to put me in a dirty tanning bed 😭😭😭 and when they moved me to a clean bed it was like 100 degrees in the room. I wish planet fitness would do something about this location.

Look I love planet fitness but this location is extremely out of date. I'm honestly surprised that this location being where it is, is so far behind with equipment especially the black card area. **Update**to add that customer service is nonexistent,it took 10 minutes and letting the phone ring off the hook to get someone to slink out of the office and get the front desk. Also bed 4 has had bulbs out for at least 3 weeks. This location is awful.

Figured it was worth adding to this 6 months onward from the review. With the "remodel" done there have been improvements to the facility, although that did not bother me much in the first place. Many of the treadmills are still only suitable for walking. On the weekends there are are still repeat occasions of staff showing up after 7AM to open, with multiple people waiting to get in. I have never had this issue at another PF location. Especially in the morning, many of the towel dispensers are not refilled often enough. I have walked around the gym looking for a paper towel to wipe my machine many times. Again, something I have only encountered at this location. These little things really add up. Opening on time (one hour later than the other locations mind) and getting the dispensers filled so patrons can wipe machines down are pretty basic.

I have been going to this PF for years, and while it lags behind all nearby locations in equipment quality, overall it has what I need for workouts. 2 major things of note though. 1. The treadmills need replacing. A handful of them are not working and a couple more rattle so badly you cannot run on them. All of those needed fixed or updated over a year ago now. And 2. The hours. Saturday and Sunday opening at 7 is too late. The other locations open at 6 and that needs to be the same here. You’re lucky to even start working out at 7, many times the staff don’t arrive until after 7 which is incredibly unprofessional considering the standard the other locations have. Being so near to this one, it’s convenient but so much about this location is below the standard of the other locations I have to consider driving further for good treadmills and them actually being open when they say they will.

When they did the upgrade to this gym the took out all the bench seats around the lockers. They attempted to fix it by just taking out the benches from the changing stalls. This planet fitness is the most disappointing location.

It's INSANE how the employees who stand at the front desk think they are actually the OWNERS of this place. They look dead in your eyes and wouldn't even greet you good night or say have a good workout. They behave arrogant when you try to ask a question, not all of them are like this though.
I used to go here, now I go to Dayton's PF and it's fantastic! Dayton's PF respects people that actually makes this place a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE.

The Centerville locale has too many overly entitled people who think they own the place occupying multiple machines and/or benches and weights. Good luck with paper towels as the person who “works” the early morning shift is usually hiding in the spa area and only comes out to work out with a member. Have seen multiple times people waiting a while to use the tanning area because he’s no where to be found or as stated, off working out with a member.

stopped in to tan since I was in the area. they dont have a computer to sign up its on clip boards which I didnt mind in the moment . they gave me bed #5 when I got in there I realized the lock wouldn't work and I dont feel safe as a woman nor do I feel like my privacy is protected. when I told them at the desk the 2employees looked at each other and weren't surprised . no apology or a word or action to not have that rm closed down !! went to the new room #3 and unlike others I ve been to thr was no place to hang my clothing and there were big browns pots on the ceiling. I think there is a lack of care here to have things fixed and that causes me to think what else do they not care about in this place . let alone me as a member and my care in safety. they were not welcoming like the other PF I ve been to.

The gym is in terrible condition. Nothing is being cleaned, and it seems that everyone is either on their phones or not doing their jobs. The paper towel dispensers need to be refilled, and there are no solution bottles available. Additionally, surfaces haven't been dusted in ages. It's so dirty that you can literally write your name in the free weight section. The mirrors haven't been cleaned, and it's been a long time since they've been touched.

I was able to get my workout in, although be aware that that anything that isn’t a dumbell or barbell could feel heavier than other gyms similar equipment. A good plus to this location is how spacious it is.

There's a Q-Tip in the 3rd mens shower stall, been there sense comment last. Still currently there appears to be growing, probably still the cleanest shower stall compared to the other hair filled ones.
Going to assume there was no punch list on the "remodel". So instead of coming to the front desk and wasting my time for something that will still not get done I'll just leave it here going on 3 weeks. Will see how it is next week.

After waiting for about 2 years for the Centerville location to be fully up and running again, I've been back at this one for close to 2 months. In that time I've not seen at least 2 machines get fixed that have been down since I came back, at least one tanning bed doesn't work properly (EDIT- It didnt even come on even after i called the desk) and the floor around the machines is dirty. All the time. I really dislike having to go to other locations for these reasons. This shouldn't be a problem. If what I heard is true and the owner of this location is the same as the one in springboro, I see where the priority lies.

ATTENDENT WAS SMOKING WEED IN HER CAR!!!!!! mid Saturday afternoon i checked in. 1 attendant was there greeted me. gym had a descent amount of people. i finished my work out and wanted to tan. no one was at the desk so i walked around the gym looking for the attendant. leaned against the counter. was there for 25 minutes. no sign or anything. people were standing there with me waiting. . i total of 30 minutes go by. so i decided to leave. called another location to ask if they knew the manager that worked there. on my way to the car i see the attendant sitting in her car SMOKING WEED!!!!!!!! i was pissed

Absolutely the most UNDER equipped club in the area!!! And they have probably the one of the largest square footage! There is so much wasted space it's not funny. Locker room? You need to be at least 6ft 5 inches to reach the cubby hole at the top of the locker. No place to sit...and VERY dirty!! I'll not be back!

Edit: credit is due where it’s due. Things have been improving a lot! Actually got tvs, benches in the locker rooms, better stretching mats etc. and one of the front desk people was really helpful getting my account paid when I had to switch cards and the website was giving me issues. Changing from a 2 to a 4 star. Will update again if things keep improving.
Since I moved this is the closest location and compared to the other locations I’ve gone to, it’s the worst. No tvs, thin tore up mats for stretching, locker rooms could be cleaner ex:stall doors, some of the black card perks aren’t available here due to equipment being down. Ex: tanning. Staff does not greet you or speak at all. Never even hear them talk to each other. I guess that’s better than a mean staff but still seems odd and like they’re being held hostage. The Huber heights, Fairborn, and springboro locations are IMMACULATE compared to this place. Very friendly staff. Huber heights being my favorite. But it is just too far for me since I moved to Centerville. Was not expecting this from a gym in Centerville. Honestly figured just by location that this one would be nicer. Idk if it’s franchised owned or what but if anyone of authority is reading this, please get this location up to the proper standards.

this location does not represent what planet fitness the brand would want. It has been a mess for years. Has literally been “Under construction” for multiple years. The owner should have closed it, done all the renovation then reopened, instead it has made its members workout in dust / half of its machines and equipment not accessible, closing black card offerings, and constant inconveniences. Surprised anyone even goes here after years of issues. Someone needs to buy out this location and properly manage it.

This club is well below what I’ve come to expect from Planet Fitness. I travel a lot for work, so I go to a lot of different Planet Fitness locations. This club is very dirty. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. The gym floor is covered in dust and trash. It took me five tries to find a paper towel dispenser that wasn’t empty, so I would assume most people aren’t wiping down their equipment. There is a shortage of equipment for a club this size. The locker rooms are dismal. There are no benches in the locker room, so you have to stand to get changed. The lockers are in disrepair with missing hooks. I would avoid this club at all costs. The management should travel to the Harrison, OH club and take notes.

I will say that the girl at the front desk was nice and welcoming, so they have that one positive.

Moved to the area a couple years ago and moved my membership here. It’s an ok club. Not the nicest, but provides what I need. However, like others have said, the place has been under construction for over a year. It’s been ridiculous. Now I show up to work out and the place is locked up tight. There is a piece of cardboard on the door saying closed to finish remodel. No warning. No timeframe. No offer to use a different club. Just closed. I have no idea when I’ll be able to work out again. Guess it’s time to spend a little more and move to a more professional gym.

Has been under constitution for about a year and still is not complete. They made a whole new Planet fitness in Springboro in a quarter of the time. If this place was not right next to my work, I would make the travel to literally any other one.

The men’s room has been closed almost the entire time and men are required to go out and use the restroom and change in porta potty’s.

There are probably 3 different size TVs above the treadmills from them just buying whatever was on sale at the time that one tv went out.

By the time it had taken to “update” this gym and “repairs” I have seen take place in the few years I have been going there, you can tell the ownership does whatever costs the least.

I cannot think of one good thing about this gym except the proximity it is to my job.

I usually try not leave bad reviews since it’s someone’s business here and possibly their livelihood but this place is that bad.

the staff have no respect for the guest getting called “Love” while i enter and exit to the girls is so criticizing. Yes, I am a girl, but I am not your woman or your girlfriend or your whatever. I understand that the place is under construction, but I don’t understand why they’re doing a remodel. when they just did one 2 years ago. The locker room is atrocious. There’s no sitting area. They literally use a weight stool for a sitting area and two metal chairs that look like they have been there forever when I walked out to start my workout I see a girl literally changing her shoes in front of the treadmills because there’s barely any seating in there a whole bunch of hazard, the back door was open for anyone to go back there and probably get injured on thefloor, from the construction. There’s literally a big sign that says no criticizing, but clearly the staff doesn’t care. I did get a Planet Fitness membership back. I should’ve just went back to LA fitness. someone literally recommended me to go to the Fairfield one so if you don’t like this one, go to that one maybe you won’t be called love darling, or sweetheart when you walk in.

I’m a long time black card member and have been to many Planet Fitness locations. This is by far the worse gym I’ve ever been to. It’s been under construction for at least a year. They don’t clean it so it’s dusty, dirty, etc. there is no men’s locker room and no where to put jackets. Today it’s raining outside…and inside. Roof is apparently full of holes. I can’t believe Planet Fitness allows the gym to stay open. I don’t even want to workout here. Yuck!

The Centerville Planet Fitness off lyons rd has been under construction for over a year. The men's locker room has been closed during the whole duration. They expect you to go to this glorified porta potty in the parking lot. I had enough. What I'm about to tell you next is what made me write the review. I couldn't take anymore.

Recently within the last 2 weeks of September 2024. They just reopened the men's locker room / bathroom after a whole year of being closed. But it's ONLY FOR WOMEN TO USE. they closed down the woman's locker room to remodel and now they are having women use the men's. I couldn't believe it. It's insulting , it's a joke.. Why would you open the men's locker room back up and have women use it? Read the other reviews men are going in there now. It's horrible management.

The social response team is a call center that runs you around in circles.You can't call corporate because all the planet fitness are independent franchises. This location has been under construction for at least a year. Looks like hell. Slowest construction I have ever seen next to the highway department. Staff has the personality of wet dishrags. It truly is a dump. Have to piss in the parking lot bathroom in any kind of weather and still charged the same amount for 10% of the club. Again staff is aweful. Just a bummer. Really really bad club. I have run 3 different gyms and wouldn't have hired anyone who works at this club to do anything. They look great at video games on their phones though.

Traveling from North Carolina, Black Card Member, located your facility 6 miles from where I am staying. Walk in to a construction zone, not posted on website. Men's bathroom/locker room used by women as their's was closed. Staff pointed across the parking lot to a portable bathroom trailer. I am a disabled veteran, the steep stairs to the bathroom was too much. I was able to use the bathroom at Sam's Club.
Former employee of PF, I have visited 20 or more facilities,some even being remodeled, and none this bad.

Women be AWARE - MEN are using the Women's Locker Room!!!! I am a black card member at the Centerville,OH location. I like other members have been inconvenienced with the ongoing renovations at this location. I have been more than understanding with the amount of time it's taken to do practically nothing but tear up everything & not put it back together. What I cannot tolerate however is finding a bearded MAN in the women's locker room. This man had the audacity to use the PF women's restroom to do his business - even though there are restrooms provided in the parking lot for the men to use while the men's locker room is being renovated. I was in the locker room myself & had no clue there was a man in the area until he appeared & proceeded to wash his hands. This was 100% a PF Member - not staff or a contractor - he had absolutely no business in the women's restroom, locker room, shower area. The incident was promptly reported to the staff & I am certain nothing was said to the bearded man. If it happened once - it most likely happens all the time. Do better PF!!!

This is literally the worst location In the United States. Construction has been going on for well over a year, what kind of construction crew have they hired to do this? They work on it part time. Something gets done, and then you don't see construction crew in there for WEEKS. It's like half of a gym, and its been like this for months and months.Why even stay open? It's dirty in there too. I bought the black card membership about 2 1/2 months ago and I love it! The only issue I have at all is that my home gym in Centerville still doesn't have the tanning up and running yet. I have to drive 20 min away to the Kettering gym to do that. But the machines are nice and clean, theres plenty of variety and you get a lit of bang for yoyr buck!!

This location isn't bad. My only concern with this location is the staff. Usually, when I walk in, the staff are sitting on their phones and not watching members. This became a problem last time mainly due to a dude constantly dropping weights and being obnoxious. All in all 3/5

I joined this Planet Fitness a couple of years ago because I like the fact that is open 24 hours five days a week. It also gave me black card ability to use those benefits here and other clubs. This location I joined because it is close to my home and very convenient to go with my work schedule. Almost a year ago, they decided to do renovations, which made me excited to see how they were going to improve it. After going in again this morning, there has been little to no progress in these renovations in probably 9 to 10 months now. I’ve lost track because it’s been so long! The work that’s been done I could’ve probably done by myself in less than a month. I have started using other PF clubs due to this poor handling of the situation. Another factor I have noticed is that when I go to other planet fitness clubs the staff is constantly moving around the facility cleaning and doing work. When I go to this club, the only thing I see any of the staff members do is fill the spray bottles and restock the paper towels. Then they go back and sit behind the desk playing on their cell phones or flirting with patrons. I’ve never seen one of them clean anything! I’ve had to adjust my schedule now to go to a planet fitness that is further away as I don’t like supporting a place that is run so poorly and does not listen to their members or meet their needs. Nor do they give information. I was told originally that Black card benefits would be back by June, we are a week into June now , and they are still shut down with no reopening insight soon. A Complete disappointment!

The worst Planet Fitness I’ve ever been to. Do not sign up for a Black Card because all the services that you get with it (massage beds, tanning, etc) are out of service because the gym has been “under renovation” for more than a year. Also, there’s no men’s locker room anymore. There’s a sign in front of what used to be the men’s locker room directing you to go back into the parking lot to change and use the restroom in PortaPods.

Front desk staff is still as helpful as always, which isn’t helpful at all. By all means do not join this gym there are many better options close by.

I am deeply disappointed with Planet Fitness due to their refusal to cancel my membership despite multiple requests made in person. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and has significantly impacted my view of their customer service and business ethics.

Upon initially signing up, I was led to believe that the cancellation process would be straightforward. However, when the time came to cancel my membership, I encountered a series of obstacles. Despite visiting the gym in person and following their supposed procedure, my membership was not canceled. Instead, I was met with evasiveness and unhelpful responses from the staff.

I expected better from a company that promotes itself as being customer-friendly. The refusal to honor my request to cancel my membership in person feels like a deliberate tactic to retain members against their will. This is not only unethical but also completely undermines trust in their services.

As a result, I am left with no choice but to advise others to be cautious when considering Planet Fitness. Their lack of transparency and unwillingness to assist with a simple cancellation process is unacceptable. I strongly urge Planet Fitness to reevaluate its policies and training to ensure that customer requests are handled with the respect and promptness they deserve.

Until significant changes are made, I can not in good conscience recommend Planet Fitness to anyone. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I hope others are spared the same frustration.

I have been a planet fitness girlie since 2017. I Just moved out closer to this one from Huber. I personally loved the Huber location. I avoid this one and go to the sugar creek one. Just not my fave. Apparently the construction has been going on for a while. I also didn’t really care for the atmosphere here. Honestly, I could just be use to the Huber one and feeling the new kid feels at a new gym. I just don’t remember feeling like this when I transferred from my Northern California planet to the Huber one. I kinda feel sad and unmotivated at this planet. Unless they make some changes, I don’t recommend this one.

I've been a member at this location for a couple years now but stopped going in November due to the renovations. I went again in February (THREE months later) thinking they HAD to be done by then, and it looked like there was zero progress done on anything.
I went for a run on the treadmill just for one of the contractor guys to start sanding the banister right in front of me. Didn't feel like breathing that in so I got off to do something else. Tried to do some machines but all the contractors were just kinda everywhere and dragging stuff throughout so I just left and haven't been back since. Not like I could actually use the black card perks I've been paying for either.
I've been going to the Wilmington Pike location ever since and they are absolutely wonderful!

I came here today to get a membership Place is dark, an absolute mess, half the cardio equipment is taped off, staff didn't even acknowledge me. No music was playing..... and the entire men's locker room was shut down "for construction " This might be the most depressing gym I've ever walked into. Reading the other reviews, looks like this place doesnt give much care to their customers.

Planet Fitness has everything I need to stay in shape. Okay, it doesn't have a pool. But every fitness club I ever belonged to before had a pool charged more, and I never used it anyway. I decided to join PF because it looked very appealing inside the way everything was laid out. There are plenty of machines and weights. And very nice locker rooms. Clean lockers! Everything is always clean there. On top of that, they decided to invest $2M in each of the locations in the Dayton area to upgrade them. That's actually happening now. The cost to belong is still just 10 dollars a month with no long-term commitment. I will never need to look around for another club again.

Tanning booths, massage chairs and beds, and a large portion of the workout area have been closed for remodeling since the beginning of Sept 2023. When asked what's going on staff just replies it will be a while before they are finished. We're talking a 2 to 3 week job lasting going on 6 months. If you have a PF Black card membership, or want one, don't come here.
Never seems overcrowded. The equipment is kept clean and working. The staff is friendly and helpful most of the time. Machines are kept clean but the rest not so much. The floors look clean but whenever I leave the bottoms of my shoes are black. And in one of the showers someone had used some sort of gel to make a smiley face on the wall, when I came back 2 days later it was still there. Also I've noticed that no matter how full it is it always shows not many people there on the app. This is because regulars just walk in with a wave and don't scan in.

Tried having a conversation with the manager at this location about getting my money back. I canceled my membership a week into the billing cycle and I just wanted the difference. When I asked the manager about this all he did was laugh at me and said, “that’s not going to happen” this is why this gym sucks.

One word-gross! If I could leave 0 stars if I could. The workers did not take any action to greet or otherwise, what you typically expect at a Planet Fitness. NO ONE, literally not one person was wiping any machine down! They were under construction and I understand having stuff roped off. Multiple machines were not working or in disrepair with pieces missing. It was a VERY hot and humid 75+ degrees inside the building. It wasn’t even that cold outside when we went. My husband and I were planning on part cardio time and part weights but we both felt so disgusted at the state of it all the problems, we did a quick workout on the elliptical and left. As we left, I attempted to get sanitizer to clean my hands and even the sanitizer machine had mildew and dirt all built up in the stand part. I have been to several PF locations all over from Detroit Michigan to Cincinnati OH to Covington, Kentucky and down to Tampa FL and this is beyond the WORST location I have ever been to.

Location has been under construction for months with no information on a completion date when staff and management are asked. Construction supplies everywhere and black card perks have been discontinued indefinitely. Is the franchisee aware of the situation? Would recommend attending another gym as this remodel may actually never be completed. Sad, was a pretty nice facility previously, I’m sure membership are down and I’d be concerned if this was a gym I invested in.

Absolutely disgusting !!! I thought we were supposed to be clean during COVID ! Tanning bed floors a mess beds are broken can’t read buttons that are supposed to be readable for safety. Do not go to this location it is a mess !!! Can’t find anyone up front in the evening time. Update 2 years later still a mess employees never at desk can’t use half the gym under construction ! It’s planet fitness. So not much to say. But, I will say, the staff here does not walk around and clean as much as they should. As a former gym owner, just bothers me a bit. Equipment is pretty dusty. And their paper towels used to wipe equipment off, it’s like tissue paper and disintegrates when wet.

So, I don’t normally tan but I am leaving for vacation in a week and a half so I thought I would work on some color. However, I go in at 6:00 wait for 5 minutes before someone comes to the desk and then I am told I can’t use the tanning beds because they close at 6. He said they close for 5 hours and then open again at midnight. And they shut down the tanning beds at 6:00 so they can clean them ( guess those 5 hours they are closed aren’t to deep clean anything). Shouldn’t I be able to use all services that I pay for during open hours? I shouldn’t have to guess or be limited. It would be like going to the restaurant and being told they are not serving food because it is an hour before they close. I am so over poor customer service from businesses who forget they are there to provide a service that is convenient for us and not them. The guy at the front desk was perfectly nice and I know he doesn’t make the rules. Location Lyons Road, Centerville.

The entrance is in a bit of a weird spot and there's a lot of pot holes and broken glass in the lot. The gym is nice. Very quiet. I went early in the morning M-F and had no issues with parking or over crowded equipment. Overall not a bad experience for a vacation gym!

Need to get the bathrooms fixed it please. They have been like this for weeks now. I go 2-3x a week and it seems like another item is broken in the men’s each week. 2 of the 4 showers had lights, no paper towels and 1 of the 4 lights worked.

Update 10-4-22 not much difference. Can the owner not afford light bulbs? The mens locker room has about 6 lights out. It’s like midnight in here. Sink been broke for a bit. Just still not clean. COME ON OWNER!!

I've been a member of this gym for about 5 years and it's nice to see that the gym finally received some new weights after several years of being opened. Cardio equipment was updated about 3 years ago. Machines are in good condition. Some of the machine attachments are old, missing or just not enough of them. The building has not been updated since they open years ago, bathroom and locker rooms can use a makeover, and the soap dispensers could be set to dispense more than a couple of drops of soap foam at a time; tanning beds are old, the staff is always looking at their phones or talking among themselves.
The roof leaks when it rains so they place buckets all over the gym. This gym hasn't improved at all even though management is aware of the issues per their responses to reviews. The franchisee is from out of state and he barely sets foot in this gym per my conversation with a previous manager.
In general the place is decent for a workout but not the best or cleanest option in the area. Out of all the planet fitness locations I've visited throughout the country, this is one of the ones in worst shape and oldest looking.

This location has gone so downhill. It used to be a clean, nice place to work out and now it’s disgustingly dirty. A literal layer of dust in the gym (see images). Piles of dust that have been there for weeks. Employees sit on their phones instead of cleaning and doing their jobs. Broken machines and a broken massage chair. I’ve been signing in since I belong to the Sugarcreek location and don’t have a keychain, and the employee who I just had to WAKE UP FROM A NAP then DEMANDED that I download the app and told me it wasn’t his job to call Sugarcreek and check if I was a member. I guess it’s just his job to take naps on the massage bed we pay to use while an overflowing waste bin sits five feet away.

The only reason I give it two stars is because it’s large enough to work out without other people breathing directly on you. What a sad decline for this location.

Edit: drove all the way over to Sugarcreek to get a keychain barcode only to be told PF no longer uses them. Maybe the employees at this location could have told me this? Maybe that’s not their job either. Also, the employee I woke up from a nap is the SAME ONE other reviews have cited as rude and dismissive, constantly playing video games at the desk. What does it take to do something about people not doing their job???

The staff members are friendly. I am simply speaking to how the building is maintained. The roof leaks which has nothing to do with the staff members it has everything to do with corporate not caring for this location. The water bottle filling stations filters need to be changed out and replaced. They are kept clean from the staff. So my first PF experience was at the Middletown location and they were AWESOME. I signed up for black card membership based on my experience there. At the Centerville location the staff was not welcoming, had their eyes glued to their phones and then when I asked to use the tanning bed post-workout they did not offer any towels or eye protection like the Middletown location does. Super sketch, all kinds of safety and hygiene issues there. Only rating a 2 due to the variety of equipment and accessible hours.

I have been coming here for several years. I was very happy with the cleanliness at first.And the place just keeps getting dirtier and dirtier. Today there was mold in the water fountain. Plus they never seem to change the filter it’s been showing red for weeks. to There’s so much dirt and dust bunnies on the floor it’s getting disgusting.
