It's not the first time I train in this gym, I like it because not many people go, but the people who work are crap a girl scolded me basically because I was making sounds with my mouth, when I was lifting 75 pounds with dumbbells on each side on the chest, she approached me and told me that I was making a lot of noise, when I could literally hear all the noise that the people who were training around at that moment, I told her it's not the first time I come I'm making the normal noise that a person who is training hard would make, nothing exaggerated or annoying, I had to stop training in the middle of my workout and leave, I would never go back they should hire people who understand from the fitness world and not only people who do not have the slightest idea of working with the public or with athletes, a very bad experience I will never come back. Also the same lady was vacuuming extremely close to me and others in the middle of our workouts, very unprofessional.

The Worst Gym in Columbus — West Broad Location Is a Joke

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The West Broad Street Planet Fitness is easily the most disgusting gym I’ve ever been to. The second you walk in, you’re slapped in the face with a thick cloud of body odor — like the AC system is just pumping in unfiltered gym funk 24/7.

The machines are dirty, broken, or just straight-up ancient. I tried to clean a bench before using it and the paper towel turned brown. That’s not sweat — that’s layers of neglect.

Locker rooms? Don’t bother. They smell worse than a porta potty at a summer festival. It’s clear this location has given up on any standard of cleanliness or maintenance.

Save your money and your nose. Drive to literally any other Planet Fitness in Columbus. This one is a health hazard pretending to be a gym.

However, (im guessing management) has some weird fetish with putting paper signs everywhere across the building. "No Bags on Floor" with one literally every 10 feet. Makes the gym look kinda sluggish and gross.

This is probably one of the dirtiest gyms I’ve been to. It’s unfortunate because I live right down the street from it. Each time I go I am put in the same tanning room, and for the past few weeks the same pieces of dirt, hair and lotion are all over the floor. It is very obvious there is no dusting, sweeping, or mopping going on. The evening front desk staff do not even take a moment to look up from their phones when they are “assisting” you. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra few miles to a better gym.

Handicap stall in the women’s restroom has been broken for two years. I asked the staff about it and they said the part would be in within two months because it was on backorder. I’m still working out there and there’s no lock on the handicap stall . The massage chairs are very old. There’s no cushion when the roller is going up your back and it is very painful. The massage beds have a molded smell when you lay on them. I have addressed it with the front desk staff many times over the last year.

Overall great gym, excellent location, cheap rates, unlimited access to amenities, excellent staff, $20 for a membership. Ask for the black card. It allows you to get into any planet fitness gym.

I gave it four stars because management currently needs to fix the showers up for repairs. It's hard enough finding a good place to get a great workout in there and being able to take a hot shower. Really think someone should request a maintenance order to fix the showers. Could only get 1 stall working there.

Left my wedding ring and bracelet hanging on the back of the door in the tanning bed right before they closed, went back as soon as they opened and they didnt find it :( employees were no help, and were kind of rude to me about it. I looked at the sign in sheet and nobody went in after me. so either they didnt clean it, and a customer took it without signing in, or the employees found it and thought it was theirs. they told me they would get the manager to check the cameras, and nothing ever happened from it. ive left jewelry etc at the planet fitness in westerville and this would NEVER happen, also i always have to ask for them to clean the beds again before i use them, theyre either covered in hairs or smell like sweat. this is exactly what you would expect from a planet fitness on west broad street

I moved from Ohio in December 2023.
I have been billed from this location every month since in the amount of $26.93. I have called four times and I have completed the online form to have them stop debiting my account - to no avail. They keep telling me that I need to come in and complete the process in person. Obviously, I am not driving nine hours to do so. When I asked for corporate information, they inform me that they are a franchise and that corporate holds no power over them. My final straw at the soldano Blvd planet fitness is that one of the staff members started selling "yoni" soaps via handwritten signs in the ladies' locker room. Talk about "class". Also they never refill the spray stations(which as a person whose parent died from MRSA I have a huge issue with) and they don't enforce gym etiquette at all. The last time I went a woman was taking up multiple machines at the same time, not even supersetting just leaving her stuff on them. Lunk alert, indeed.

I want to start this off by saying that the staff has always been amazing. Always with a sense of urgency, and working hard to keep the facility running. The problem with this particular facility though? TOO MANY teens and adults coming in to literally chit-chat like it’s a coffee shop and waste 30+ minutes overtaking the equipment and lifting area. I don’t know what the protocol is for PF, but something has to be enforced so that everyone’s being fair and rotating machines for the next person. The more respectful members can be found in the morning, so if you want to get your money’s worth and have a smooth workout without people wasting time then go between 5am and 11am, any time after that is literal hell. Not a lot of ppl in this location seem to take working out seriously, being on their phones for 10+ minutes occupying equipment, sitting on machines like it’s a sofa, or teenagers playing around the lifting area gatekeeping all the plates. It’s ridiculous. You DONT need to be on an ab extender or a chest press machine for 20 minutes. I guess you get what you pay for, but this exceeds ridiculousness. And to my own Hispanic people, PLEASE take the chatter to the club or abuela’s house, not the gym, ya’ll are doing too much.

Overall very clean and well maintained facility. However, upon scanning my membership card a manager stopped me for wearing these shoes and told me I have to wear something else, citing a potential safety issue. "They're closed-toe, but I think they're more like Crocs than tennis shoes. It would be a problem if you dropped a weight on them."

I have been wearing these shoes to Planet Fitness for several years with no issue, but now that this location is "Under new management", the shoe police have deemed them unacceptable. The dress code policy says footwear has to be closed-toed and they can't be sandals. These shoes are closed toed and fully strapped to my feet with velcro. Hardly croc-like. They're ultralight running shoes, so unless we're enforcing steel-toes to enter the facility, I think I'd fare about the same as any other runner if met with an errantly tossed dumbbell.

This facility is too conveniently located to go elsewhere, so I'm just going to try to remember to bring different shoes. But c'mon man these are my favorite shoes!!! I've ran in these for years!!! At Planet Fitness!!! My disappointment is immeasurable, and my evening is ruined.

Went here today, because my PF is receiving new equipment and is closed for a couple of days. This PF is maybe a little older but is clean and well organized. The back ab room equipment might be a little close together but isn't a problem. The equipment itself is a newer and in good working shape.
Gym size is decent. It's not huge, but good size. Locker room was clean, newer and nice. Staff was...present. That's about all I can say. But overall, this is a good site to visit in an older but "not too bad" location.

This is officially my favorite planet fitness because it's clean. I get a good workout here so there's good energy. The staff is absolutely amazing. The showers are clean. I'm not a gym person but golly how packed it gets. The hydro massage bed by the tanning booths are a must try especially for those who deal with all sorts of heavy type of artillery. I would have initially give it a five except the showers I know every gym looks different in the rest I was lucky to have been able to use the one stall that had an actual seating in the shower and I wish they had a bit more changing stalls in the back as they do lockers lol put aside from that staff was friendly very informative and that with any and every stupid question I had I kind of wish that they were all between 24 hours but still 4.5 is what I give!🤓

Love this place. This location is in the middle from where I live and my partner, so it’s an easy hop on the highway to this newer location. I love that each place is just a little bit different, arranged freshly so to not be repetitive; even some machines are different or they have amenities like the floor mats, kettle bell free weights, stretch bar placement, etc etc. This one is updated, cleaner, easy to get in and get going with your workouts. This location is horrible. The bathrooms are always dirty, the hand sanitizer and hand soap are always completely empty, machines are always dirty. Meanwhile the employees just stand at the front desk and talk or looking down at their phone on the desk and have an attitude if you need help or have a question! This day I had to wait ten min for tanning beds to be cleaned and while one employee went back to clean them (as someone other than me was waiting on a bed to be cleaned also) and rather than the other employee at the desk going to help she stood behind the desk and played on her phone. I never see this employee anywhere but that one spot behind the desk on her phone!! This location either needs serious employee training or completely new non lazy employees who actually wAnt to work and do their job!! I've been to several PF locations and this one by far is the least desirable. It's filthy, the equipment is old (while other locations have upgraded), equipment is broke for weeks, the WIFI doesn't work, soap and paper towel dispensers are broke, sanitizer dispensers have been empty for months, the water fountain is never cleaned. I'm pretty sure that this location is look down by management because of it's demographic. If you have better options than this, i would suggest going elsewhere.
