I reported a male staff person coming into the locker room while I showered, even after repeatedly asking him to leave. When I reported this to the management, the GM banned me without notice and never responded to my complaint beyond "under investigation". Ladies, I didn't feel safe. Beware.

This place is horrible! Signed up for planet fitness on a promotion. They advertised first month 1$, which is a lie!!! Sept30 charged 1$ oct 15th charged 27$, canceled member ship because of the false advertising and was charged the morning another 53$. That’s almost 100$ in the first 30 days which was supposed to be a 1$ promotion. I only went to the gym 1 time and was charged 81$. I’m filing a complaint with corporate. I actually worked for planet fitness in 2020 in another state. The club I worked for never did egregious things like this. Sad thing is we live in base housing and me and my wife decided to join this club because it’s closer than going on base, our family is severely effected by the government shut down and this is how planet fitness treats military family’s. I’m appalled truly…

Update…. Called corporate and received the same gas lighting that the owner posts on every review, they said that it’s independently owned and there is no corporate oversight, then the lady said it’s my fault for signing up. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she hung up on me. This company is disgustingly ran by a bunch of predatory people who place blame on you as a consumer. I’m blown away by all this!!! I’m driving down to the BBB rn. I will never get my money back but at least I know the BBB will take me seriously….

I was outside waiting on the gym to open on Sunday oct 12th 2025. They wouldn't open until 7 am. People started pulling into the parking lot to wait as well. @7:10 I decide to get out and join the others waiting outside the door. At 7:14 am a young lady gets out of her car ( that she has been sitting in in the parking lot for the last 10 minutes) and proceeds to slowly approach the group of people waiting on her. She continues to move as slow as possible with attitude to unlock the doors as her co worker make the comment " I don't know what the hurry is?" With a smirk on her face. Upon finally entering the facility I complete my work out as ask to tan. The young lady behind the counter seems very uninterested in anything I have to say and complies with attitude. Now that I have made it to the tanning beds I notice they are extremely outdated and not even in proper working order. I should have got the pic but didnt waste anymore of my time. I left abruptly and will never return to this establishment. You really need to rehire or retrain and remodel!!!

This place is disgusting. I have a Black Card Membership. I workout here 4 days a week. The toilets have had the same crap stains in them for 2 weeks. There is always a group of loud men screaming and grunting and singing to their own music they listen to on a speaker they bring in. They do not clean up after themselves or re-rack their weights. The only reason I continue to come here is because I live close by.

Let me get ahead of you. How about you reach out to your own management team? It's YOUR brand, take some responsibility for the quality of your product. The standards for business these days are atrocious, and shame is scarce.

Dumbbells go to 60, and there's one set of 75, but no 65 or 70. Employees aren't at the front desk, they're taking selfies in the locker rooms. One of the water fountains is down, but signage is too much to ask. And you're still not 24/7. Get it together!

Staff was at least civil. One of the employees was laid across the front desk on her phone when we walked in and didn't budge. There's a couple of blood spots on the walking path to the locker rooms. Two of the men's room sinks looked like they had been backed up, then drained, and we're never cleaned. Even for a planet Fitness, this was rough. Of the four or so I've been to in Dayton, it was way worse than anything I've seen. Plus half of the equipment, workout wise and facility was out of order. Nothing against the places, nothing terrible, but definitely lacking any sort of attention.

I had an extremely disappointing experience when I visited your location to cancel my membership. The staff member assisting me, Jordan, was unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the interaction. He displayed a poor attitude, rolled his eyes when I asked questions, and even started texting on his phone while I was speaking to him.

When he looked up my account, he told me I owed $65 and could not cancel my membership until the balance was paid. I was confused, as I had been paying $26 monthly, and I asked him to explain the charges. He said he didn’t know and that I’d need to speak with a manager. When I asked for a manager’s contact information, he refused to provide it. I then asked for a corporate number, and he claimed not to know it either. He told me to come back later when a manager might be in, but couldn’t give me a clear time just a vague “maybe around 4 or 5.”

Thankfully, another employee eventually stepped in. When I asked for Jordan’s name and the manager’s name, this second employee was able to look up my account, call the manager directly, and ultimately have the fees waived.

While I appreciated the help from the second employee, Jordan’s behavior was completely unacceptable. It’s frustrating to be treated with such disregard, especially when trying to resolve a billing issue. I hope appropriate steps are taken to address this, as no customer should be treated this way.

In this past seven months, I visited a lot Plannet Fitness amd for the most part they're clean, neat they got Sofas that you can snit down and watch TV, and realx. Right now I don't know where to start with this gym this is the worst of the worst that I have seen in my seven months traveling the country . First of all there was no soap in the bathroom second , there's nowhere to sit what I mean by that you know if you're a black car member, you can lounge in the back and sit down and watch TV. They don't have that here in total one of the girls that was working here. It looks like she just got out of bed. I am so disappointed with this planet fitness I will never come back here whenever I'm in town. The owner of this gym should come unannounced and take a look at it. You'll be surprised by what you see. The only reason I gave it one star is because that's the lowest That you can give, but in my opinion, it should be a zero stars.

GROSSSSS. I couldn’t find the mat rack, so I asked staff. They stated there isn’t one, so I asked if I just pick a dirty one up and the consensus was yes — YUCK! Not the young workers fault; the establishment shouldn’t be creating an unclean environment for staff & gym members. Disappointing location.

This is the forgotten Planet Fitness. It has a lot of older equipment, and could use a nice deep cleaning. Up side is it's usually not as busy as the others in the area.

i come in mostly to tan and sometimes workout and i feel like i should start visiting a different location because the customer service here is awful. The employees working behind the counter are on their phones constantly and dont greet or acknowledge you and i need them to give me a tanning bed and im just kind of awkwardly standing there for a while until they get off their phone and help me. one time last week nobody was at the desk and i stood there for probably 6-7 minutes and i could hear multiple employees in the office by the tanning area laughing loudly watching videos. the entire vibe is unwelcoming. i was also charged two different prices for the exact same tanning lotion 2 weeks apart.

Was there to work out everything started out just fine. I enjoyed my stretching and getting ready to head to a smith machine. They have 4 of them in total. 3 are open and one has been unavailable for about 2 months now. I saw one was opened and then out of no where a guy comes up and says that it was for someone else. He said he had to go and get her. This is not a gym for everyone because it should have been for who ever is right there when it is open. This is really sad that this happens.

One stall and one urinal has been out of service for over a week so had to wait in line for a stall in Men's restroom. There has been no hot water in over a week which means a very cold shower and hard to get anything clean. The hot water has been out before, but it has been a while since the last time. I have written a letter and been in person to cancel and my account still wasn’t canceled. Last I called a lady on the phone was so incredibly rude. Considering getting legal help to end this matter. I wouldn’t get a membership here. They’ll laugh as you try to cancel.

I have not heard good things about this location, but was in the area so figured I'd give it a try. Went to tan and the bed was dirty (which happens sometimes), so I went to get a paper towel and sanitizer to wipe it off myself. I looked around at the paper towel dispensers on the gym floor and they were all empty- asked the staff and they said they were out of paper towels. I asked for a rag and they didn't have one. I promptly left, because why would anyone want to tan or workout in a facility where nothing is being cleaned/sanitized? Especially during flu season. It's disgusting. I'm not sure why they didn't just buy paper towels or rags at the Dollar Tree next door? Not sure how a gym can even stay open under those conditions.

I also had to go back and edit an old review from two years ago to give an update on the current situation. (Original review is in brackets).

More of the same, late openings during the weekend continues—nine people this morning were left waiting 20 minutes in the parking lot after the posted 7am opening time—one of those people takes the bus and just had to stand in the cold. Others start leaving after 15 minutes.

During the week, the morning crew just sleeps behind the desk while paper towels are nowhere to be found, not even in the bathrooms! (Especially during cold and flu season).

The overall cleanliness has slipped to an all-time low (see photos). A breeding ground for dust bunnies, gravel, dirt, salt, trash—it’s almost impressive if it wasn’t so infuriating. The men’s locker room is a hellscape—floors and stall walls have a nice film covering everything.

Equipment remains broken, one of the only four smith machines has been down for almost a month now, the ones that do work need to have the bearings replaced or at the very least, greased, the catching/dragging of the bar is not only stifling the workout, but poses a risk of injury. The inclined leg press also suffers from this dragging. Rubber handles on the row machine just slip off.

Overall, very dismal place and it seems to be getting worse, I eagerly await the “owner”/person manning the google responses to tell me that they’re sorry to hear about my experience, appreciate my feedback, and to contact the manager.

I left contact info with the dude this morning. Your move planet fitness, impress me. Convince me that I “belong”.

This location has been running completely out of paper towels. This is the second time this month. I'm confused because paper towels are essential to the cleanliness of your establishment. Planet Fitness is a solid gym for anyone looking for an affordable and clean place to work out. The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s a good variety to suit different fitness needs. I went in today to cancel my membership and was informed their system is down and has been for two weeks with no idea when it will be back up. The men’s bathroom is always dirty. Only one urinal functioning for almost a month is unacceptable. The equipment are very old compared to the other franchises I’ve been to. Me and my son started a little over two weeks ago going 5 days a week for 2 hours each time we went in 11/3/24 and the women working was super rude made a big seen and wouldn't let my son work out with me because he didn't have a phone to check in which he didn't have any other time I was a black card holder so could bring anyone and they sign their name and that's how we did it every time so I canceled my subscription because she out right embarrassed us and wouldn't let us work out.

Couple days later, Still not, still hair clumps from weeks ago, down to 1 star. ....first review ( 3 star) :My husband and I really enjoy going to this gym, as it's close to our place and the staff is really nice. It's also not crowded. But the two big complaints that I have that disguised me is that I like taking my showers there after a workout out so that way I can just go home and relax. I always use the same shower but recently had to switch to a different one because there's a big pile of hair that's been in the corner for A MONTH! EWWW! the women's room is so nice but it's definitely not clean!with trash around the mirrors, and the showers just so gross! DO BETTER AT CLEANING! I will definitely be looking this weekend to see if it's still there! Might have to find a nicer place to go if this place doesn't get a better cleaner and will definitely drop stars if not cleaned this weekend. Also the amount of people who use equipment and don't even wipe it down when done, is absolutely disgusting as well! So definitely make sure you wipe before you use and be generous and wipe when done too! It's not hard.

Planet fitness is affordable and the staff here is always kind. However, if you decide to come to this location, you need to be careful. After my workout I discovered someone had tried really hard to break into my locker. It looks like they must have had bolt cutters. I was barely able to open the lock with my combination after the damage they did. Will have to look into another location.

Well my inquiry with the corporate office about you they said you would be responding. You have not. So Friday, June 7th after 5 pm all bets are off. I will be consulting with an attorney on the following monday for my case, then a class action suit for everyone else. The company has been sued and lost. A recent podcast was done about deceptive practices. I will be filing a report with the Attorney General also and the Health Department. Glad the city denied your permit to change your sign Planet Fitness any future things attempted I will be at the meetings with citizens giving our disapproval. I have over 7 thousand members of Riverside in my Facebook group. We will use social media to out you. I hope the business then is sued and loses so bad it closes.... I don't bluff, retired now plenty of time..... I have friends in the news business that I will be contacting for a story..... you took advantage of my wife not knowing, that is unacceptable... funny how no one answers or no one has called me so many shady things going on there, well soon they will be in the news since they think I am bluffing........ big mistake........ AG Complaint will be this week. Next week two appointments with Attorneys....... wow your going to lose money....it will be interesting when I file in court and issue a subpoena for the 3 staff members one being the manager to court to explain that situation. I am sure they will not like sitting on the stand being asked questions! Or course they could try to not appear but that is contempt of court, so I will be asking the judge to issue a warrant for contempt. I am from Florida, I visited this planet fitness while on a trip to visit family in Ohio. I like this location! The equipment is available and it all works. They have more than one rope extension! The one I go to in Tampa, FL only has one and it’s always missing or being used. I also appreciate the paper towel dispenser, it is easy to use. I like how the gym is set up, makes for much more room to use free weights. Overall one of the better planet fitness locations I have worked out at.

Out of all the planet fitness locations I have visited this has to be the most disgusting and their workers the least trained. All of their equipment is outdated or the first editions of what planet fitness originally had when opened, including the tanning beds. The same soap dispenser has been out for over a week. They do NOT clean the tanning beds between use, their workers do NOT know how to charge anything to your accnt so you have to have your physical card with you. Go to their changing rooms if you want to feel ill, the handprints alone say how often they're cleaned and sanitized. Idk how they are even allowed to stay open. I've been coming to this location for almost 2 weeks now to see if I'd like to switch it to my home gym cause it's the closest to my house but I will remain at the one in Kettering. Health department or better business or someone needs to close the location down or get new management ASAP! It's absolutely appalling and a risk to ppls health. Check out the chairs in every tanning booth as well as the ones in the changing booths, handprints, rear prints etc.

The two massage chairs and only one jet bed are really old, worn out, and need updated "they need NEW ONE'S. They put new covers on them to make them look better but they need new ones, updated ones like the others Planet Fitness clubs. They updated the club to be like the other clubs all except the massage chairs and jet bed. Come on franchise owner of Planet Fitness at Airway shopping center in Dayton, Ohio. Do the right thing and update the massage chairs and jet bed.

2. I don’t know what clock these people use here, but they turned off all the shower lights 10 minutes prior to closing?? I’m responsible enough to set my timer on my phone by then, but I was nearly NAKED when they turned the lights off!! ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE!!

And if you’re the owner reading this, if you’re telling your employees to do this, YOU SUCK!!

Once again, I went inside to find out if my 15 year old grandson was there and was told they couldn't tell me if he was there or not. He's 15. A minor, who hasn't been given permission to be there by me, There's supposed a signed permission form from the parent for the summer program. I've signed nothing.

Clean facilities and plenty of machines to go around. The amenities are also nice! The staff there are always willing to help you out. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the riverside area, as it's definitely the nicest choice (in my opinion).

Do not go here! If you ever need to cancel your membership do it twice or they won’t do it for you and they won’t give you a refund for the times they have charged you when you weren’t even using a membership. They did the same thing to my partner too!

I've visited several Planet Fitness locations across the United States, and I've noticed a decline in their standards. In the past, Planet Fitness was known for being clean and friendly, but the location I've visited recently is quite dirty very disappointed

I had to voice my opinion in regard to the Brandon West review. I've been going there for years and I love it! I've never had any issues whatsoever there. The manager has been there forever and she is always great! And the staff is always super friendly and polite so I'm going to assume the only reason that staff member got upset is because he was most likely provoked. I know the mentioned staff member myself and he's always been polite and friendly! And not being allowed to bring a guest that owes money and in collections is extremely understandable and that is what most businesses do regarding being delinquent. If you owe money it's your responsibility to pay it!

The showers are useless they have no trainers the equipment is old there is nothing modern they have good customer service that must be emphasized but the facilities leave much to be desired…. 3 stars for the friendliness of the front desk when they fix the facilities I will give a better rating.

I've had a membership for two months and I've been there one time they cannot get my account right I joined and then I referred my husband the same day not knowing you could get a month for free I've been down there 3 times to get my account right and it still isn't right it just makes me not want to come I've been one time it's not that hard I'm really paying for nothing

I had a very poor experience here. If I could give no stars I would. I came here to tan and the building looked shut down ,but I was told they were remodeling. I said okay. Proceed to sign in and go back to the booth. While In there another customer wiggled the door knob I yelled out that the booth was in use and continued to get ready I then here a male worker outside the door and hear the other guy that tried getting in say "i think someone's in there the door is locked " the employee proceeded to use his keys to try and get in the room! I cracked the door and said I'm in here ! At the end of this experience I was just genuinely not impressed. The booths are very old and worn down as well.

I just moved over here and I am hoping it’s just because of the remodel but this gym is dir-ty!! The staff I encountered was attentive and friendly but man they need to just come it with a power washer and some steam after they close one day because everything is some kind of filthy. Also the few stair steppers are all the way in the back nowhere near the fans, which I might add, are only 2 in total. 🥵 I am gonna drive the extra mile to Kettering when I have the time at least until the remodel is done.

I've been going here for about 10 years. It's $10 a month, so you won't find golden toilets, champagne won't fall from the heavens, and there are no velvet ropes. Things might be a bit janky, but 95% of things will work. The staff have always been helpful and friendly, but I also don't go early in the morning on weekends when it sounds like the staff are still sleeping in. For the price, it was great until they started remodeling. I would have given them 4 stars but, write your own adventure here about why management decided to remodel in winter, now the men's locker room will be closed until Spring. And I was almost ok until I had to drop a deuce and the only place to do it is outside next to the front door in their "porta johns." You know, like Oktoberfest but instead of it being nice out you're going to freeze in all the places you don't want to. So my advice is, if you identify as male, don't sign up here for the "New Year New You 2023" and find yourself a better gym where you can change in, and use the restrooms in, the glorious heat. Or you can wait until next Summer and get in on the $10 a month deal. And then they'll get 4 stars.
