Pretty good. Their equipment isn't as new as some other locations, but they have a good variety and staff is friendly. The gym seems pretty clean. Two reasons for not giving five stars. Not big reasons, but areas of improvement definitely. First was lack of machine availability. There's only one option for many machines, where as, other places have at least a couple machines for when someone is using a specific machine. (Other than treadmills and aerobic machines) Second and last reason was the restrooms. If there is an obvious sign that says women's and men's to let you know which one to go in I, for the life of me, could not find it! I did see one that had a symbol around the insignia there that looked like a circle with a stick and a line to make it a cross. I assumed that was there symbol for woman so I used that one. There were no other people in there so IDK if I got the right one, but if they would label there restrooms clearly that would be a great improvement!

I wouldn’t be doing this place justice without mentioning how fantastic the employees are. They don’t call people out for being a “lunk” as the definition on the wall says. It’s relaxed, everyone gets along, and it’s exactly how it should be.
The place is clean, maintained, and the only ones who might not clean up are the ones working out sometimes.
And lastly I love the Rockbot app being used there. I have requested “All I want for Christmas” every single time I go work out. It’s glorious, and that’s why I wear noise canceling headphones.

I have been a member of this Planet Fitness for quite some time, and it has gone downhill fast. This is probably one of the smallest locations (it was built in an old Dollar Tree)

They recently ripped out the 30-minute room — a space people actually used and liked — without replacing it with anything worthwhile. That room had extra machines like a leg press, leg extension, leg curl, and back machine, which mattered because this gym is already overcrowded. Instead, they threw in a couple more dumbbells and some ab equipment. Pointless. I personally know several members who quit because of this, and I ended up doing the same.

On top of that, many of the employees don’t even bother cleaning the equipment outside of the manager, who I think does a good job, However, he doesn’t do a very good job, managing his employees. Too many are glued to their phones instead of doing their jobs.

I left and went back to the YMCA, which is run much better and actually cares about its members. I can’t recommend this Planet Fitness at all. It’s a shame this location isn’t like the ones in Fort Wayne or Bowling Green.

I would give it a five-star but it's not a 24-hour. Still a typical Planet Fitness gym but much smaller than most I've been in. It seems the treadmill is a much older model than most but I walk/jog for 2 miles on this one and says I burn over 1183 calories whereas a newer model is between 420-540 calories.
I still like it it has weights.
I usually rate a 5-star as long as I get my workout in which takes 1hour- 2hours depending on how I am feeling.

I love the Defiance location but it really sucks cleaning every machine when you are doing the 30 minute workout. It drops my heart rate by stopping every time. If COVID is to blame, just stop with the nonsense. If you care about "germs" then clean it yourself before you workout, don't make me. Super annoying. Otherwise I absolutely love the perks, tanning, and equipment.

Went back to this location after a long absence, i moved away and this is no longer my home location. It's still very clean as always and the staff was friendly. But, was disappointed to see the place is still haunted by several really inconsiderate regulars who always want to hog multiple machines simultaneously for long periods of time making certain pieces of equipment inaccessible for the entire length of my workout. This is a much smaller than average PF location and if you're unfortunate enough to show up at the same time as certain muscle bound regulars, good luck getting your entire workout in.

I love the spa area as a black card member I have been able to use the tanning bed a stand up booth and my personal favorite is the total body enhancements machine it is wonderful.

Staff could be a little more I don't wanna say helpful but instead of the harsh tones maybe a little more inviting? I'm sure they aren't all the same but I have had a couple rough encounters.

I have been a Black Card member here since before they opened. Due to cancer, they postponed my membership on a medical for almost a year now. Luckily, today was my first day back and I sure greatly missed the hydromassage!! Total body was great also. Soon to be working out and regaining lots of muscle I lost over the last year. Clean gym, plenty of workout equipment and room for your workouts. Only complaint towards equipment would be the limit of the smith machine for bench/squat. Its only on one linear plane and there's no free floating bars for bench/squat. Adding to this review, I would like to warn anyone thinking on joining this club on their hidden fees and process. When I joined they had a "special" for 10.99 basic member with no joining fees. I ended up paying $40 on the first two months and one was a sign up fee and second month was yearly dues. I called to cancel my membership due to these shady fees, and come to find out they force you to come in just to cancel a membership. I originally gave this gym 4 stars but the shady business these guys do is is the definition of scam work. You won't find me in another planet fitness.

When i visited, a Sunday around noon, it was not busy at all so that helped.
Second, this is a very clean and up to date facility.

Do not like changing up from card to phone to check in and use facilities. Card is just as sterile as phone with touch less check ins. Now have to carry keys and phone in to use gym...hate app see no reason to mandate due to no plausible cause for it. I do not want to use my phone to check in or register for black card uses....am I being forced to in order to use facilities?

This is the smallest planet fitness I've ever been to but it wasn't that busy. The place was clean and had everything I needed. Well the floors of the locker room could use a once over. I live across the country and have never been to this gym yet they charge my bank account every month under someone’s name I don’t know. I’ve called constantly for two months. The first time I was told that my refund would be processing with in 14 days. Still nothing. And now every time I call I talk to a different manager. I finally just got the district managers number mike but he has yet to call me. This place seems like it’s scamming people.

Front desk staff is rude and unhelpful. I called regarding a issue with billing. Don't try to cancel your membership because it is almost impossible. I canceled after my contract was up in October, did everything I was told to do to accomplish this and was charged for November, December, and some arbitrary amount of $41.63. NO ONE will help you, when I contacted the planet fitness main offices the said they can't do anything because it's a franchise, call the club in defiance. When I go to the club in defiance I'm told everything is taken care of but no manager is there to speak with. I have emailed 4 times with no replies, talked to ABC financial. NO ONE will help you. Once they have your bank information they can raid it anytime they want, save the trouble and don't join this place. Remember NO ONE WILL HELP YOU if you try to quit after you commitment.

Very clean, and the staff is always attentive! An abundance of machines that can be used in a variety of ways so there's no need to wait for a machine to open up!
The only reason I gave a 4 star is if there is a problem, such as a Faulty batch of Lights (7 in a standup Tanning booth), it takes them a few weeks to fix which you would think it would be a lot sooner.

Planet fitness should improve their membership / cancellation policy.. it's almost impossible to cancel if you don't live near the location you signed up at, and their staff is not interested in trying to help you cancel your membership. I had to send a notarized letter of intent to cancel my membership since apparently you can't cancel over the phone from out of state. I dropped the letter in the mail in the middle of December, and the manager sat on it for a month so they could charge me for another 2 cycles (Dec and Jan) plus the annual membership fee in Jan before he finally actioned my request and closed out my account. When I called to ask for help or refund given that I sent the notarized letter a month earlier, the manager got defensive and said it was my fault.

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND joining Planet Fitness if you ever have plans of cancelling and joining another gym...

I love planet fitness. This is the first gym I ever went to and I was so nervous to start going to the gym. But this gym is great. I've been going for almost a year and have never regretted getting my membership. My only issue is that there is a ton of treadmills and only 8 bikes. I have a disability in my knees and many people have knee issues so the preferred bikes for knee issues there's only 4 of and they seem to be out of service often. I wish they would fix their equipment faster. And preferably get more bikes.

Equipment is clean, in good repair, and plentiful. However, the staff was either rude or totally oblivious to what was going on around them. One staff member treated me like dirt because my barcode wouldnt work, and attempted to humiliate me by calling my home gym and very loudly stating "is this lady's account in good standing or not?", followed by "people in Columbus are idiots". Real mature. And then to top it off, several staff were conversing amongst themselves as guests waited in line while only one other staff member checked in people and answered phones. I've been here a few times and this will most likely be my last.

It's a really great place to workout. The employees are friendly and helpful. It is affordable. Very clean. Super new right now, and that is why I can only give it four stars for now. I'm sure it will be 5 stars soon. There are just a few kinks to work out. Sometimes the electronic equipment fails. This is unfortunate for it only being open to the public for two weeks, but they get issues resolved within 24 hours. Other places I have been have let things go without fixing them for weeks at a time. So a recap: there currently are a few issues cropping up, but the staff does everything in their power to rectify issues in a timely fashion. Check them out. I recommend the Black Card membership. Well worth the price!!!
