I love this Planet Fitness and as someone who travels a lot, I’ve visited many others but the Calcutta location is the best. It’s the cleanest by far (although they’ve been slacking lately on vacuuming the floors in the tan rooms) and the staff are mostly friendly and kind. Abby especially stands out as someone who does an excellent job. She always has a smile on her face and doesn’t hang out in the side room ignoring customers like others do. She really cares about customers!

I have been a plant fitness member for a while now. Had to cancel my membership a few years ago due to financial reasons. It was super easy to cancel. But now I am back.
It was my first time in the gym down here, I am originally from Cleveland. I must say the gym was great. Smelled clean, and like I remembered. The men locker room was immaculate. The equipment was in great working order and the staff was top notch. Super helpful, respectful, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. I unfortunately did not get the woman's name who helped me, but I was in the gym at 2pm. She was great. Steller job! Glad to be back in the gym!!!

Update 11/18/25: continued outstanding consistency!! Love this place!

Parking lot smooth, no holes, easy access. Friendly people all over to access help when needed. Lots of space nothing crowded. Great black room, mabie best l ever seen. Equipment like new and well maintained, not crowded. Bathroom and shower are also extremely clean. Spray bottles are mounted in each shower and are kept full. Bath mats in shower,great safety feature, also top notch handicap shower and changing room. If looking for the best in a relaxed, polite atmosphere check this place out.

I’ve been a long term customer of planet fitness however I will be cancelling my membership. The staff at the desk are nothing but rude. Tonight I went to tan, waiting for 25 minutes plus and I asked if the bulbs were fixed in room 5 because I reported there was bulbs out Sunday. I was informed they were fixed. Lies! Tonight, I start the bed and now there was 5 bulbs out. I got out and was told the staff, because I am not tanning when there is bulbs out and I asked If they could put me in another bed and I was given attitude and a statement was made along the sides of “well we are running on a tight schedule here.” I completely understand the schedule, but if a bed is not working properly then it should not be used. I should not be made to feel as if it’s a huge inconvenience when it is not your tanning beds aren’t working properly! I used to work in the tanning industry, I’m aware of what happens when you lay on the acrylic and the bulbs are out, you’ll end up with strips!!!

Absolute great work out environment. Lots of equipment.. pretty much anything and everything. They have tanning there with great tanning beds, and they have massage chairs. There's just couple things I don't like which is the amount of time they let u tan. Just not enough minutes in one session to get u the tan at a rate that should satisfy u. And couple of the employees aren't much help and will let u stand there looking stupid instead of asking if u need help with something. They're not very helpful, and inexperienced when asked simple questions.

I joined 1 week ago and I'm loving it! The gym is very clean and the staff is kind and helpful...Aaliyah is the absolute best!! She has made my visits welcoming and comfortable with her sweet personality. If she isn't the manager, she should be! To me her face is my Planet Fitness! She makes me feel at home. My favorite part of the gym itself is that it is quite, low key which relaxes me. You don't hear a bunch of loud clanking like other gyms. I think this will be my way to finally get healthy!

I’ve been coming to Calcutta planet fitness since opening day. I love it here. It is by far my favorite one out of several I have been to. It has the best updated equipment, I love that I can sync up my Apple Watch, the mornings ain’t crazy busy, the tanning beds sometimes get a bit packed but for the most part you don’t really ever have to wait (mornings) and it’s always super clean. I wanted to shout out to HOLLY for doing an amazing job keeping up with the place. Since she has started and I started coming I have yet to just see her standing around. That woman is always doing something to keep busy and help customers or clean. She is very polite as well. Keep up the good work Holly. Just know I appreciate you!!

I’ve been a member in Planet Fitness since 2020 and its been 4yrs now but my home base is in Monaca PA and when they open in Calcutta OH last year, I transferred in Calcutta branch because it is near my place. It is clean and neat. The staffs are very friendly and it’s affordable.

I like everything about this gym, but thought there were personal trainers. When asking, being told nobody is certified personal trainer. I like all else, variety, hours and hope it stays clean and nice. Friendly people and the right choice. Just really need beginner training of equipment and option of personal training. Not everyone wants a QR code to learn. Everything else to say for most part is positive. Just trying to give objective and honest review. Especially for us older and out if shape clients. We need more help.

It is a nice clean place, but it is terrible trying to cancel a membership. They let you cancel for a few months, and then just start taking money out of your account AGAIN. I told them months ago that I would NOT BE ABLE TO COME BACK. I have had two surgeries on my eyes. I have to limit my activities until I can see better. Now I noticed this morning more money out of my bank account. No email asking me if I want to come back, no text message or anything. I don’t recommend this at all.

Started going to PF in Calcutta about 4 weeks ago and able to pick my time to workout when crowd is low. Multiple workout machines are good for continuous workouts without waiting. Staff are friendly and helpful. I joined in Oak Ridge, TN but wanted my home with PF in Calcutta. Sierra was very helpful in changing my PF home from Oak Ridge TN to Calcutta. Thanks Sierra!

After a long day of exploring Pittsburgh and then a fun drive to get to here, I was not feeling like much of a workout. I did a half-hearted circuit through some of the Thirty Minute Workout but I skipped a bunch and then hit the showers.

Showers worked well and were clean. There's a shelf for storing your stuff while you're showering and there is a private changing room just to the side. Easy and quick.

Another great reason to upgrade to the Black Card membership - you can use any PF in the network!

This is a very nice and clean facility, but I was told there would be exercise classes when I signed up. I signed up for a couple classes earlier this year and was told they were no longer available. I keep checking back, but it has been a couple months and still none are available.
