I just want to point out how kind the folks are who work here. Many gyms I’ve been to in the past there were workers who didn’t even greet when you came in, and while that may not seem like much, it is something that sticks out here. This Fairview Planet Fitness was cool. I actually really like the setup. They have a lot of space. They have like two areas where you can stretch with weights and mirrors which was a huge plus. I could see this spot getting busy during the peak hours but with the way it's setup, there's quite a bit of room. You should still be able to find your own space without much hassle.

The staff I ran into here seemed to be decent people, too. No complaints there.

Bathrooms and Equipment were very clean!

This is still planet fitness, so don't get your expectations too high. I've yet to try the black card perks in the back at this location!

New equipment is a bonus, I hope the organization keeps adding from time to time. The gym is very busy after 5pm until around 7ish, but that's to be expected. With that in mind, some members need to focus on their workouts instead of what is on their cell phones. Completing 3 sets in 20 minutes is ridiculous because of cell phone use. Otherwise, I really enjoy my experience at PF.

Updated: (Initially 3 stars in 2021) Planet Fitness will not respond to my inquiries I've been submitting to request information regarding how to cancel membership. My membership was transferred from a location that has since closed. I have been filling out the form, requesting a response, as the Planet Fitness website recommends you contact your "home gym" for cancellation requirements. None of these inquires have been responded to. Now the billing cycle has passed, and I have been charged for another month that I have been trying to cancel. Extremely frustrated with this. Planet Fitness is notorious for making cancellation difficult, but not responding to multiple inquires over 2 weeks is unacceptable to me.

Decent gym for the price. Average for a planet fitness. Always overcrowded. Long waits to use the machines. Do not enforce rules well (wiping down machines after using them) Limited lifting equipment. Clean bathrooms and locker rooms.

The new location was so poorly planned it almost seems intentional. This one medium sized gym is meant to serve multiple west side suburbs. Parking is iffy but if you get a spot there’s no guarantee you’ll have a machine to work out on. Like other reviewers have noted, even in less busy times you won’t get your full workout in. You pick the one machine that’s currently open and pray you get a cardio machine at some point. Honestly a nightmare to visit this location.

The new Planet Fitness in Fairview Park is a total downgrade from the old Rocky River location. While the gym may be larger, the new location has brought in way more people, making it insanely overcrowded. Every single treadmill is taken during peak hours, and sometimes there’s even an unofficial line for them. The locker room setup is a mess—people go down the row opening lockers, then give up and leave when they can’t find an open one. Parking is just as chaotic. If you can’t go during the day, this gym is practically unusable. Adding additional equipment might help, but overall, this was a missed opportunity to create a great gym.

Update: The new club is a nice update but they took away the traditional red light therapy unit. They said what they have now is a hybrid unit that also has tanning but you can't turn the tanning feature off. I was told you could set the tanning feature at a high, medium or low setting but when I used the unit I wasn't able to change anything. I also was unable to turn the unit off during the session or pause the unit and had to literally had to push the emergency shut off button. That was a total waste of my time. Total JOKE.

Also this one does not have the vibrating foot plates;shows the feature but it doesn't work. What a JOKE.

The only thing they've done right is switch locations to any more convenient neighborhood.

Otherwise same Planet Fitness Rocky River just now in Fairview.

I have been a member since 2008 and this was my original home club.Today they would not let me use the facility. She said my barcode said I canceled my membership last year but it's not. She said to call my home club and get my bar code. Turns out it the same number. She than said to download the app. Again same bar code. She then gave me "some story" about how they are a franchise and not a part of corporate. This is the first time I've ever had a problem using my membership at any club. She didn't seem too concerned either that I wasn't able to use the things I came in there to use and just walked away. I LEFT. Now I remember why I don't come to this location. I'll drive farther to go to a better Planet Fitness where I'll be treated like a person and actually be able to use the facility.

SO CROWDED IT’S UNUSABLE. No matter what time I’ve gone here, there is an insane amount of people working out, I cannot stress how overcrowded this space feels. They have to be overcapacity. Working out here feels like working out in grand central station. The crowd meter will show 2/10 with 200 people inside?? at this point the only way to fix this gym would be to cancel 500 memberships. Doesn’t really matter how clean or how much “new equipment” you’ve got if the gym is so damn busy you have to have to fight to use everything.

The new location is awesome. Close to many stores, much much bigger, new equipments, CLEAN as I have never seen in any other Planet Fitness. A lot of cardio equipment. I was sad with the move because it is farther from my place, but it was a great change. The Staff is great! I have been going to the one in old River for years and never had issues when it was busy. There was always at least something open and a ton of lockers. Now with the new location there are never any lockers open and they are also super small. I walked in and walked out the other day because every area of the gym was taken. No point in waiting forever to even use a treadmill. Considering just cancelling. Can you guys stop letting people sign up if you are at capacity? It makes people not want to keep paying for your membership and then cancel. Unless that’s what you want. Your staff even says it’s too packed in there.

Staff is excellent. Gym is clean. But, this new location rarely has available lockers, a single bench in the locker room, always over crowded, hours have been shortened despite more members, parking lot is insane and I hate parking my car in it. After 3 years I'm Actively searching for another gym. The staff makes me regret this review, but It's honest and I hope they address some of it.

I live exactly in between 2 Planet Fitness. Sometimes I go here and sometimes I go there, but If this isn’t your “home gym“ they really don’t want you going there. I am a member of this planet fitness and I come quite frequently. Today was the worst day that I’ve had at this location. Now I usually have no issues as I’m very quiet and keep to myself when I’m working out. I am unsure of what this particular “managers” name is but she was extremely disgusting in how she approached me and handled a situation. I’ve never seen her at anytime when I come to that particular gym. I had arrived at the planet fitness sometime before 10 am and checked in using the mobile app. I was greeted at the door by one of the male management members that I’ve seen before. Sometime after 10 am closer to 11 am, I stepped out to grab a water bottle from my trunk to refill my gym bottle. I came back in and stood at the table, with my head phones on to refill the bottle. A young lady, who was washing the windows as I was exiting, tapped my shoulder hard (without my permission) to get my attention and stated, “I didnt see you sign in.” I informed her that I stepped out to get water but that I had been there since a little close to 10 am. She asked my last name, I gave her my full name. She says she’s going to look it up. I proceed to go into the locker room to put my keys back into my bag. As I’m in the locker room having issues with my lock, she comes in aggressively with a nasty disposition and says, “you need to come back out here and check in because you didn’t check in.” I said ok. I then came out to try to ask her if she would be able to see it on my phone and help me with the lock. She kept walking telling me no and I needed to come sign in. Instead of staying to be disrespected further, once I got the lock opened, I just gathered my things to leave so it wouldn’t be an issue because she was already being rude to me. As I was leaving, I asked another young lady would she be able to vouch for me as I asked her for assistance when I got there and she said yes. I see the “manager” looking for me as I’m walking to the front and I wave her down to tell her I’m going to the desk. She comes back to the desk and I have my phone out to show I checked in and to have the other management confirm I was there. He did. She then asked me my name again and I told her the same thing as I did the first time, she claims she misheard me but never asked for clarification. It then became an even bigger issue because her tone was very condescending as she kept saying she didn’t see me check in. Her tone got loud and I got loud and we were going back and forth. Confrontation was already fueled when she put her hands on me. Words were exchanged and as I was leaving, she began yelling, “get out.” I was already leaving. She stated it was her duty to protect the people inside the gym but if I was such a threat, why not contact the authorities? Why did I have to contact them if I was such a threat and she had to protect the other members? I then sat in the parking lot for about 10-15 minutes and contacted Rocky river police department to make a statement because I am going to corporate for the embarrassment and overall disrespect from their employee because above all else, she should’ve NEVER touched me. Headphones or not. That was an invasion of my privacy and when I asked her for assistance in the locker room, instead of being rude when she didn’t see me with any belongings at the door and the fact I was trying to retrieve my belongings to leave, this could’ve been avoided. A report was made and I will be taking further action. I have my information from my report and this will be pursued.

I have been a Planet Fitness Black Card member since July 2022. My home club has been Rocky River for the durations of my membership and I have visited multiple other locations. The Rocky River club is by far the best Planet Fitness location that I have been to. What sets Rocky River apart from the rest is the excellent staff who are welcoming, supportive, and eager to help. Two employees that stand out from the rest in my opinion are Deleon Jackson and Dasha LaPoint. I can honestly say that they have been instrumental in my fitness journey, contributed greatly my success, and honestly, kept me coming back when I’ve felt discouraged.

Deli is a ray of sunshine regardless of whether it is super early on a weekend morning or in the middle of the night. Deli is one of the first staff members that I met when I joined PF and has been very influential in my fitness journey. I missed her dearly during her maternity leave and am glad to see her smiling face behind the front desk when I arrive each day.

Dasha is a wealth of information. Her technical background has been very helpful with respect to answering fitness questions, supplying me with advice/information when asked to better my workout, and explaining concepts that were foreign to me in a way that I can understand. I appreciate Dasha’s direct approach and her patience in respectfully assisting a beginner like myself.

Brian (night time employee) has been excellent as well. I do not typically workout during his shift but when I have he has been very friendly and super helpful.

The upgraded equipment at the Rocky River location is also awesome and I can also say that it is the cleanest gym that I’ve been to. The other PF’s in the area an also clean but housekeeping seems to be a high priority in RR.

The only thing that the RR PF is lacking for me is a Fitness Trainer. Fitness classes were one of the main reasons that I joined PF. I worked with the 3 trainers that worked at RR previously. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent working with them. I, along with the others I used to take classes with would really like to see a fitness trainer at RR in the future.
I froze my PF membership recently to pursue my fitness goals at the YMCA because they offer classes and training but I quickly returned to PF. The YMCA was terribly unclean in comparison to PF and in all honesty, I missed the RR PF staff.

Planet Fitness was a huge disappointment. Outdated equipment and burnt-out bulbs in the tanning bed ruined any chance of an enjoyable workout. On top of that, their cancellation policy is ridiculous. They force you to drive all the way to the gym or send a certified letter just to cancel. No online or phone options available. And let's not forget the overpowering smell of socks that permeates the place. Save yourself the trouble!

I have been a member for 5 yrs and a recent transplant to the city Lakewood. The gym in Rocky River is the closest to where I now live and can say that the employees there are high on point! The Manager is very kind and helpful making my transition from city to city, she helped me with my phone app update and had beautiful finger nail polish 💅!
The gym is quite smaller then the Planet Fitness in Sandusky, the area I hail from. Very clean I must add.

Very affordable way to stay active and have access to gym equipment. It does get a little busy at times, but I love being able to see the crowd meter in the app. And even when I do go during busier periods, I've always been able to enjoy my workouts!
