This location has gone from sub-par to awful after the renovation. Many duplicate machines were removed, creating less equipment for staff to upkeep and longer waits for patrons. I drive to the Tallmadge location now; it is a far superior option.

The sign up process was easy however getting any assistance in how to do so was a bit challenging.

Locker Rooms remind me of a High School locker room with no privacy for changing.

Limited Machines and there is always a wait. Not to be rude but there is an abundance of “bro” behavior at this gym. The stretch area is tiny making it difficult to actually have room. Sharing is not a thing at this gym - there is so much “sitting” and “visiting”going on - it takes twice as long to get a workout done.

Enforcement is minimal - People don’t wipe machines, dress code is alarming at times, and on occasion the grunting is ridiculous.

The BEST thing about this gym: the male staff who try their best to be friendly.

My experience was disappointing recently moved, decided to try my nearest location I was going to change my home gym... But I tried the massage chair and the hydro beds which are my main focus and reason for membership hydro bed worked all right the massage chair did not and it's functional It does not give the amount of pressure like the ones do at other locations. I have been to 7 or 8 locations some of them in other states. Management believes and I quote equipment is all running efficiently

I've been going here for a few weeks since their new remodel, and I love it. This five star review specifically goes out to Olivia, Carl, and Collin. They're always extremely friendly and welcoming. I am always asking questions, bringing in a guest, or trying to go to the spa after a lift, and they're nothing but helpful. I appreciate them always being kind and eager to help. Additionally, they have remembered me, and when I come in I am often greeted by first name. It makes the experience very personable. GIVE THEM A RAISE! THEY DESERVE IT!

This place is like a meme of toxic gym behaviors from the 80's.

If you like grunting, groaning, hissing, panting, loud cell phone conversations, and inappropriate attire, you've come to the right place.

This used to be my home PF and I was reasonably happy here although the free weight section is small but that's PF for you. Came in early on a Saturday and there was literally no place to go where there wasn't some really obnoxious bro-havior going on. The grunting and groaning drove me away from the free weights over to the lat machine. That lasted about 60 seconds until some guy came up in a cut off sweatshirt and dropped a huge stack of weights in my ear.

Let me point out that ALL of this stuff is supposed to be against the PF rules. But PF has discovered that it's a lot easier to ignore the nice people who follow the rules than it is to deal with angry weight-droppers and other rule breakers so I don't even say anything anymore.

In my opinion PF should stop pretending and just openly say that the only rule is there are no rules.

In our travels, we have been too many different Planet Fitness establishments. This is by far the cleanest and most well-run. The staff is very friendly and the manager is very conscientious about keeping things clean. The staff wipes down the equipment on a daily basis and no one is above cleaning, including the manager. The staff does an excellent job handling their mentally challenged employee. On a daily basis they show patience, compassion and understanding; but at the same time make sure this gentleman does his job properly. I highly recommend this Planet Fitness for anyone considering joining a gym. It's a great value for your money!

However, I did have one recurring issue: the blue alarm. Every time I pushed myself hard during my lifting sessions, the alarm would go off. While I understand the intention behind it—to maintain a non-intimidating environment—it was a bit discouraging for someone who enjoys challenging their limits.

Despite this, Planet Fitness remains one of my favorite gyms. The affordable membership and the variety of equipment available make it a great choice for fitness enthusiasts at any level.

Irritating Making you sign way too many documents making an annual fee. Plus a monthly fee. The monthly fee is fine. But wanting you to sign almost 7 to 8 pages Of information on an email number, they don't need all that Stuff that is ridiculous. Reduce that number to 2 or 3 pages. Planet Fitness is one of the biggest hidden gems in the fitness industry. I know they are not "HIDDEN", however MANY of my friends and family did not realize how new, advanced, clean and BIG each PF is! PF offers so many of the amenities (classes/trainers/shower rooms/lockers) of other fitness facilities at a fraction of the cost. I also love that PF is nationwide, so no matter where you go...you can find a PF to visit! The guest policy is one of the most generous in the industry. For those wanting a little more, the upgrade to the Black Card is worth every penny!

I used to enjoy this gym, until they refused to refund me. I went in to cancel my membership in January, but an employee convinced me that it would be no problem to just “freeze” my membership in case I decide to go back. Well, I didn’t get billed monthly, however, I did get charged the $40 annual fee, with no heads up. Nobody told me this, they just told me that I wouldn’t be charged and to “sign here”. Nobody told me that I was going to be billed the $40 annual. I’m never going back. That is something they should tell people, when they are convincing them it’s best to freeze, rather than cancel. Seems like a scam. I called to get a refund and they refused due to me signing a contract they states I understood. That wasn’t made clear at all. I was verbally told that I wasn’t going to be charged and it was no sweat to freeze rather than cancel.

Horribly run. One handicapped machine and they allow the able bodied to use it for an hour while those who need it, wait. Either get another machine, put a time limit or restrict it to handicapped individuals.

A new event happened. I signed up for a one on one class and 4 days later get a call that the “system” already booked someone for my time slot and I could reschedule for another day..two weeks from then. The day before my cancelled spot, I was approached that there was a cancellation and we could do it then. Sorry, but I have responsibilities and couldn’t do it that day. The evening of my cancelled class, the trainer was not even there. Things happen but don’t lie to your customers.

Old, more or less outdated equipment compared to other locations. Absolutely none of their equipment connects to Apple Watch, even though the equipment says it does. They took the good filtered water supply off of the drinking fountain and the city water tastes like garbage from the fountains. Shower rooms leave little to be desired compared to other locations. People that work there can’t effect tell you the difference between the two different exercise bikes. They let people play music through other than headphones, which of annoying to say the least. Planet Fitness is a great place, but the Kent location is the worse I’ve been in. Do yourself a favor and go to a different location.

Alana S. Was extremely helpful over the phone when I was originally inquiring about the gym and membership details. So far I went in to finish paperwork and hit a tour. Tanned after the tour in a stand up tanning booth and it was incredibly quiet and enjoyable. The only reason for 9/10 is because planet fitness advertised $1 down and it ended up being $18. Not a big deal, I just felt broadsided.

The best part about Planet Fitness for me is the option to take small, group classes with the personal trainer. At the Kent club, Kate is friendly, knowledgeable, and motivational. Kate knows her gym members and designs classes around their abilities, needs, and goals. At times I am the only person in the class, so I get Kate’s undivided attention. Tried coming here to see if it was any better than Tallmadge since it's three mins closer for me. Never going back to Kent location. Staff was friendly, but they don't say anything to other members when asked to. Large college crowd and majority of them are just hanging out at the machines so they can't be used. They're very loud and annoying. Even some of the older crowd were just making fun of others that walled by them. And God forbid a female walks in...all the annoying ones chase them down and basically stalk them as soon as they walk in like dogs in heat. I will definitely definitely drive the extra few mins to the Tallmadge location. Tallmadge has all very new and updated equipment and at least twice the amount/size of Kent with more welcoming staff and fellow members.

Wonderful, clean, well-lit gym in an easy to find location. Staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint, and the reason that I did not apply 5 stars is because many of the equipment only go up to a level that I personally am already able to do. I chose PF because of its proximity to my new job, but was using a different gym up until beginning of May that had heavier stacks. I wish there were more heavy plates and that the machines reached higher upper limits.
