They have plenty of equipment, the people working there are always nice when I stop in, and it has an overall safe feeling environment for people who aren’t gym rats like myself. Upper management came in and moved all of the good staff to other locations and threw in a bunch of nobodies that absolutely do not care about the place or how well it’s run. This is day 2 in a row that the place has just not opened in the morning because no one is showing up to work. There have been numerous other times that employees have opened the place late as well this year. Not to mention, machines have been broken for extended periods of time, you can tell a lot of the machines are not being properly maintained anymore and the facility feels less clean overall. People are paying every month and the place isn’t even open 2 days in a row with no explanation. Unacceptable.

I’m just standing there then finally Janelle says “do you need anything” I was actually shocked.. during the process of canceling my acct, I asked a question and her wording was very rude! Not a bad facility. I have visited a few times. This is not the club I most often visit. The place is clean and the equipment is in good shape. The ellipticals in this club suck! They need to be replaced and upgraded with Life Fitness models like other locations. The stride is way too long, and the movement is not ergonomic at all.

I've been a loyal customer for almost 6 or 7 years. I never had any problems with any Planet Fitness locations until this morning. I went to the Macedonia, Ohio location around 6am to use their massage bed. I work overnight and I had a doctor's appointment nearby so I came to that location.

I accidently fell asleep, and an employee was trying to wake me up, but I didn't hear him because I was in a deep sleep. Then an older lady approached me while I was sleep and started yelling and screaming at me. I was distraught at first and realized what was happening. I matched her energy, and she asked me to leave. I expressed to her how she treated me was wrong. She told me she was calling the police because I wasn't walking fast enough for her, I guess.

The police showed up and I was in my car. They talked to the employees first and then came over to my car to talk to me. The lady said that I was banned from all the planet fitness locations and my black card membership was revoked.

I don't feel that I should be banned because of how I was treated as a customer and that I expressed my feelings about it. Employees need to treat paying customers with respect, and she doesn't need to be working as a member if she's going to treat people like that. She was very unprofessional. The manager Phillip didn't seem to care that she was wrong for how she treated me. He only saw the side of me because I'm a man. I feel that my membership should not have been cancelled. Evidently it was okay for the employee to act unethical and discriminate towards me. I will tell my friends and family whoever has a black card don’t go to the Macedonia location! They treated me like a criminal!

I’ve been a member of 4 Planet Fitnesses, as well as used others. I’ve been a Macedonia member over a year. While the facility is on par with others, its staff lacks any interest in customer service. I recently joined Planet Fitness in Macedonia, and I must say, it has quickly become one of my favorite places to work out! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the clean and spacious environment. The facilities are well-maintained, and the layout makes it easy to navigate through the various workout areas.

I’m traveling to see family and still wanted to stay on my workout schedule. This Planet Fitness location was close by and so I went on a Day Pass. The staff (especially Harry at the front desk) was super nice and very helpful! The gym is one of the cleanest I’ve been in. The equipment is in great working condition. The stretching area was really good with comfortable mats that were great for my mobility/stretching. The range of free weights is great too. I was able to do everything I do at home (free weights, kettlebells, a run on the tread). The women’s locker room was immaculate. If I lived here I would join up! Thank you so much to the staff for welcoming me as a guest.

I’d like to commend Kim and Harry’s customer service skills as they are top notch. This is the best planet fitness I have been too and lucky for me is just a mile away! The location is large and open. Never wait long for a bench even during busiest times. Plenty of smith machines. I like how they have a hip thrust machine also. They also rearranged gym and now have two areas with benches and dumbbells (granted one does not have mirror but still nice to have) the staff are friendly and they always decorate for the holidays which is super cute!

I've been to a few other Planet Fitness locations in the area. The Macedonia gym is the best one by far. The workers are friendly and engaging, and are always doing their jobs to keep the place clean. It is the cleanest one I've been to (a few other local ones really have a bad smell). They do a good job of decorating, like now for Halloween they have a skeleton holding the scanner when you get there! The equipment all seems to be working well, and is a good selection. Some of the other gyms have different brands/types of equipment, like in the 30 minute room, and they're not as easy to work with. Macedonia is also the least intimidating gym that I've been to, and it seems to not make anybody of different body types or skill levels feel inadequate for being there. The building itself is well lit and well ventilated, so it doesn't feel stuffy or dingy, like a nearby Planet Fitness does. Macedonia Planet Fitness being as friendly and clean and non-intimidating as it is makes me want to go to the gym everyday! 💪🏽
(My only feedback for change if I had one, would be to make this location the 24-hour one, not the other location about 15 minutes Northeast. That one needs better lighting, better ventilation, and workers who care enough to keep the place clean and running well, so that keeping it open throughout the night for guests who are on different schedules is a welcoming experience. Wish it was the Macedonia Planet Fitness that was the 24-hour one! 🙂)

I HAD TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AFTER TWO MONTHS

I started my membership June 27th and canceled it August 22nd. What was once a positive experience has DRASTICALLY deteriorated due to the appalling management with specifically Phil. Upon arrival, I encountered an issue with my membership, I signed up online for the black card with the $1 down and $24.99 monthly rate and had yet to pay that price from my duration of time being with this gym. I was being hit with late fees from the time I signed up to the time I had to cancel my membership. The very first payment came out to $41.74 confused, I call up to speak to someone about what I thought to have been an obvious mistake. Who greeted me on this call was a lady by the name Janell, she stated to me that I possibly put in the wrong banking information and to just update it and there shouldn’t be any further issues. Also they wouldn’t be able to refund me on the added on late fee due to them being charged a fee although I think it would’ve been courteous especially with my membership not being a month old yet at that time. Then the end of July a payment comes out for the annual fee (I received a text stating the bank information they had on file was incorrect) So naturally I call again was told this time to come in the gym because sometimes the information doesn’t update on their end. LONG LONG story short I had to come up to this gym THREE DIFFERENT TIMES REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. The first time I came the lady (whose name I didn’t get) was very combative trying to insure me that my information I had in was correct when I just received an text an hour before I came in from their finance company “ABC” after showing her screenshots she assured me the issue was fixed and it wasn’t. The 2nd time I came in we went through the same process receiving another late fee I come in again go through the same process this time they are looking at my banking information from my phone and typing it in to their system directly. After all that and it not even being a full 3 months with this gym I see another pending charge WITH AN LATE FEE for the same amount of $41.74, obviously frustrated with this whole process looking for answers as to why all the staff could give me was “I’m not sure you would have to speak to out two managers PHIL OR KIM”. I’ll save the long story of actually trying to get a hold of one of these managers because this review is long enough. Fast forward to finally coming in (now being the 3rd time for the same issue) I ask to speak to the manager that would be in at that time, that manager being Phil.. Phil didn’t even speak to me I had to wait for him to come up front and when he didn’t he clearly had an attitude and said “wassup”. I had print outs from my bank statements along with screenshots and an ongoing note of names of people I spoke with regarding this ongoing issue I had with this gym and billing. Phil cut me off with trying to explain myself and said “yeah I see, they left me a note” (mind you I was told I would receive a call from him and never did I had to call up again to even get in contact with Phil) He disregards everything I’m trying to say and says “yeah what’s your bank information" as if I didn’t come up here on two other different occasions where the same thing was done and nothing changed. After explaining that he replies “well it’s a customer issue, I EVEN TOOK THE TIME OUT OF MY DAY to call ABC and they said it’s your bank” However PF manages to get the money from the card they have on file which is also the bank acc info I was providing. He refused to give me the difference after being wrongly charged yet again. Phil lacked empathy and professionalism leaving me feeling not only frustrated but upset and accused of something that I had physical proof that this was in fact not a “customer issue”. To anyone reading this I urge you to PLEASE save yourself the headache and if you have to sign up? DON’T MAKE MACEDONIA YOUR HOME GYM!

We have enjoyed coming to Planet Fitness since it opened in Macedonia. The staff is always friendly and gym is clean. Only complaint is when we joined they were 24 hours operation and our fees did not change when their hours did. Our work schedule limits when we can come. It would be great if they opened at least an hour earlier both during the week and on the weekends. There are always people waiting in the parking lot for doors to open so there’s no lack of interest in early work outs.

The staff always greets me with a nice hello and goodbye. They are quick to respond to offer help (even when my badge doesn't scan immediately they help) and they are ALWAYS ALWAYS cleaning! I wanted to see the gym, what kind of simulators, how much space and how many people, they didn’t let me inside. I first encountered such an attitude towards potential new customers. The management of this place is terrible.
