Guess people can do whatever they want at this location, especially this old guy who wears the same dirty NY baseball hat everyday and has this giant bottle of orange juice. This guy comes in and SLAMS the weight on every machine and starts Grunting Moaning and screaming super distracting from trying to do my workout and the staff here do absolutely nothing about it. I will be canceling my membership and finding a REAL gym that actually allows me to workout without having to deal with this every time I want to work out.

Consistency Is Good Business

I’ve visited this store three times—twice in the same week (including today). Each time, I checked in using my Black Membership QR code with the same guest.

Today, however, my guest was asked to take extra marketing steps, including downloading the app. The only difference between visits was the employee working. Nothing major—but consistency matters. The experience should be the same as it was on the first visit, not change by the third.

It left me wondering why things were different this time. Please make sure all employees are on the same page so customers don’t have to question the process. Several one star reviews regarding customer service. Let this be one.

I’ve been going to this gym for years. I recently had to move and I would like to say the New Philadelphia Planet Fitness is by far the best gym I’ve been to so far.

I would give it a five star for cleanliness for sure and the workers are super nice (which is becoming rare nowadays at other gyms). Management is also great!! They take customers concerns seriously. If there is someone causing problems they handle it in a professional manner.

Cleanest gym Ive ever been in. NIicest staff. Granted, I'm there six days a week, but the staff even learned my name and greets me when I come in and tells me to have a good workout. Small town level of service here that can't be beat. Equipment is sufficient for what I need and is always clean and in working order. Restrooms are the same high quality. While working out, you'll see staff walking about vacuuming, dusting, polishing machines, etc. They also offer tanning and other machines. I recommend the hydro massage table after a tough workout. 👌

As a trucker PF has saved my life on OTR.
Especially, in the Midwestern areas Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma, etc…Including this PF. I can’t think of any Purple Pump I’ve been to. And wasn’t able to park my truck & tractor in a lot, take my ten, shower, catch a good bicep/tricep pump, and relax with no problems from staff or the cops. The lot has plenty space. Truck stops across the highway also for extra
parking. Walmart across the street, Menards, Chipotle, Taco Bell, DGS, Big Lots, etc. You name of its all surrounded here. Thanks a lot.

I've always appreciated the hours of Planet Fitness, and the low cost as well.

I know it's not a part of their motus operandi, but having some squat racks or even a place to deadlift would be phenomenal. (Smith machines do not count - they are notoriously bad for one's lower back and knees, etc,, due to the forced movement path)

Having said that, this facility is clean and the staff is friendly.

I'm a little disappointed with their stand up tanning beds! For two weeks there have been 5 bulbs out of bed 2. I keep asking if they've been changed before I go in, and every attendant has said yes... then I get in there and no... bulbs are black and 5 won't even light... maintenance of stand up beds is poor!

If I could rate zero I would. I attempted to cancel my membership IN PERSON nearly a year ago, I had a black card, they told me I could not cancel because I had not had the membership a full year, they could demote it to a regular membership and it would charge the $11 until the year came up and then it would cancel, it NEVER did. I called again and they told me I shouldve been allowed to cancel the membership at any time if it was current, which I had autopay so it was current. They canceled my membership OVER THE PHONE after trying to make me come in, then refused to refund any amount back to me even though they had the paperwork that i had tried to cancel months ago. Will not be returning to any location.

Reading through the reviews I see that I’m not the only customer that has experienced the issue I have today. I have moved away from the area, over 2000 miles away and couldn’t return to the area to cancel my membership. The local planet fitness where I moved to said they cancelled my membership for me, 8 months ago, they made the phone and said it was taking are of. I thought great. The location closed due to covid heard nothing from planet fitness as I shouldn't have and now today, they’ve taken $508 from my bank account. After calling the new philly location, I got the run around phone excuses and they’d call the other location but there would be no refund. Not a very creditable business.

Update - I received an email from a representative from Planet Fitness regarding my issue, this person was great. Unfortunately I was referred to calling the New Philly location again and spoke to the same person I originally spoke with, which claims something different occurred than my first conversation with this person. I was then referred to the district manager that doesn’t even have the professional decency and ethic to respond. I now understand why this entire scenario occurred. This should probably be a topic of discussion within their next management meeting.

4 months later.... the saga continues with this place. I have for some reason out of the blue been charged $41. I have no membership, I live 2500 miles away and yet I still can’t get an answer from anyone at this place... just the run around stories and them taking money from my account. At what point does this become a crime?

Very Welcoming atmosphere. I was so scared to start going to the gym as I have really gained weight since having my baby. Their personal instructor there Holly comes with your membership. Check on the paper at the schedule that she has for all her training sessions and she really is wonderful and helpful and helped me with working out. Everyone I have encountered there at that gym is kind and if you have any questions they are really kool about answering them.

Worst gym in the Tusc. county. Asked me to leave because they accused my boyfriend TWICE for training me. So I guess you can't go with a friend and ask for advice or get help from anyone other than an employee, which from the looks of it they have no clue what they are doing. They would rather someone hurt themselves then ask for help from a friend. It's against their "policy". My advice.... go to a real gym!!
