Love the gym and the crew but the reason for the one star review is for the fact that you decided to take away all the fun and not let them decorate for the holidays. I actually enjoy it very much so going in to see what decorations they have. Can’t help but over here several people complaining about the decorations being taken down for Halloween. There’s nothing disgraceful about them. Please allow them to decorate for the holidays as many of us at the day drive in Parma Ohio enjoy seeing them. It was stupid to have them remove them.

I started my membership with the Brookpark location, but have started using the Day Dr. Parma one due to more space and equipment. I also like the fact that the massage and tanning is available for all open hours, as some places have started closing them at 10pm and I am usually a later in the evening gym goer. I will continue to use this location as it is close and best by me.

So, overall- great gym. Staff is fantastic! But, always had issues with the showers! Even before the construction the showers were very inconsistent. Never knew if the hot water was going to work.. last week I was there first thing Thursday morning, no hot water what so ever in the guys locker room. I notified the desk. My only complaint.

HOT WATER!?!? This is over 2 weeks now where the water from the new hot water tank is not hot.
Frustrating when you head to work from the gym.

Easy to get a workout in—I love the barcode that loads on my phone, lots of equipment spread out and little enclaves of specific routine equipment to break up the monotony, and the different levels of membership offered. Nice to know if I need to change it or freeze it, I’m able to. The water bottle refill station is really nice. I love having options of tanning, red light, and massage stations. I feel the membership price is appropriate. Great mix of cardio, nautilus, and free weights along with weight benches. I’m glad you have signage reminding others not to do selfies by the showers! Good selection of tanning/red light lotions at various price points. I love the way you have cleaning stations throughout the gym. No excuses not to clean after use. I like seeing the staff greeting us coming in, being helpful if we have questions or buying lotion or drinks, and how they clean the gym. It eases my mind to know I’m not working out in germs and filth.

The reason why I am giving this one star review is because when my wife and I some time ago wanted to get a membership by cash- they posted a notice on the doors that they were not accepting cash memberships. We also found out in the news that Planet Fitness was in the headlines for something very bad and even though I don't remember what it was to post it on this review- I'm sure that many of you that have a computer can look it up online.

Been going here for a year and I’ll have to say this place is clean. The equipment is nice and maintained well. And the newly remodel is nice.
The problem I have, and others also have, is this one supervisor or manager (not sure), Krista can be very rude and condescending to many people. She doesn't seem to be very friendly for a supervisor or manager. They can’t seem to keep the place staffed turnover seems high and wondering if the reason is the workers may also not get along with their management?! Not clear, but it’s obvious this gym struggles with the customers and staff for some reason! Improve the customer experience and it would be great.

Signs were put up about construction at this location with dates that was only a week long, yet still not done almost two months later. So they are making money off of people for memberships they can't even use. Employees do not do well at their job. They will send you into tanning beds without ever starting them so you get ready to get in just to find out you have to get redressed and go ask them again to start the bed. Other nearby locations are also horrible but this months long construction that wasn't needed is a little asinine.

Honestly, very impressed. I live in Los Angeles where fitness classes, studios and gyms are omnipresent. Was looking for a place in Parma where I could get a few good workouts in during my visit. Planet Fitness did not disappoint.

Athena was super helpful and friendly during sign up, and answered all of my questions with grace! I love that there are always plenty of treadmills available, all the equipment seems to be working and in great condition, and it’s never too crowded. Very happy I joined for the duration of my time in Parma! 10/10 would recommend.

SHOUTOUT KURT, JONES AND ATHENA FOR SAVING THE DAY!!!!! My airpod fell down into the stairclimber today while I was doing cardio (just my luck), and they were so incredibly kind and helpful!!!! I was a PF member for almost a decade. I worked out thousands of times at many locations with numerous workout buddies. For the most part, my endeavors at PF were favorable. I usually found their facilities clean and well equipped. That's exactly why I renewed my black card annually.

Two weeks ago, I was publicly embarrassed by your staff. While standing at the front desk your Assistant General Manager informed me that I have violated PF Personal Training policy and cannot return. Moreover, her elevated voice and gymintimidation caught the attention of other gym members. It was quite embarrassing and made me feel like a Lunk. Without success, I informed her that I was working out with a buddy and not Personal Training. Furthermore, the arrogant associate informed me that PF has a 3 strikes and your out policy on Personal Training. Then, I challenged her to show the evidence. Upon her failure and inability to share documentation, she escalated the situation and completely lost her professionalism.

Afterwards, I shared my misfortunes with my workout buddy and she was astonished by the news. She wanted to return to the gym and vouch for me. But I talked her out of it, due to the unfriendly PF judgment zone.

I wanted to discuss this situation and reached out to the franchise and corporate offices several times. No reply.

I regret to inform you of the unfortunate experience I encountered today at one of your facilities, the location at 8443 Day Dr, Parma, OH 44129. As a recently joined member (on 04/23/23) who sought out a gym closer to home due to a family situation, I had high hopes for Planet Fitness after switching from LA Fitness. However, the management at this particular location has left me deeply disappointed.

Allow me to emphasize that during each of my visits to both the Parma location and the one at 5755 Smith Rd, Brook Park, OH 44142, I have always worn a weight vest as part of my workout routine, which primarily involves dips, push-ups, and pull-ups. I make it a point to exercise discreetly in the back corner, ensuring that I do not disturb or inconvenience other members. In fact, I actively contribute to a positive gym atmosphere by encouraging and fist-bumping those who demonstrate hard work and dedication. Remarkably, the Brook Park location staff members acknowledged my efforts and reciprocated the positive energy I brought to the facility.

However, today, on 05/10/23, I was approached by a young lady who appeared both respectful and visibly nervous, indicating her reluctance in delivering the message that I could no longer wear my weight vest. Sensing her discomfort, I refrained from inquiring why this issue had never been raised during my previous visits. I took the initiative to address the situation with the individual responsible, Kurt, who identifies himself as the "manager."

Upon introducing myself and conversing with Kurt, I was taken back by his explanation that he refrained from approaching me earlier as he was "off the clock" and believed the young lady needed a lesson. I opted not to argue or create a disturbance within your facility, but I find it puzzling that Kurt would not exercise his managerial duties when he was officially on duty. Common sense dictates that he should have waited until he was on the clock to address the matter. It is essential to highlight that Kurt had witnessed me wearing the weight vest on multiple occasions without raising any objections. Such poor management skills raise doubts about the character and competence of individuals entrusted with leadership positions at Planet Fitness.

As a business owner and corporate trainer experienced in leadership development, I strongly recommend that Kurt undergoes a comprehensive training course to enhance his leadership abilities. In this case, a suitable approach would have been for Kurt to wait until he was officially on duty and then guide the young lady on how to respectfully inform members about the weight vest policy. I would have responded by questioning the sudden enforcement, considering that I had worn the vest on numerous occasions without any issues, and the other location displayed no concerns whatsoever. With due respect to your gym's policies, I would have complied and removed the weight vest, proceeding with my workout as usual.

Unfortunately, due to this incident, I have made the decision to cancel my membership at this location and opt for a gym that requires an additional 15-minute commute. I do not wish to receive a phone call from Kurt personally, but I do hope that this matter will be promptly addressed. On a positive note, I commend the young lady for consistently welcoming everyone with a smile and carrying out her duties to a high standard. This is the type of behavior that your facility should focus on—fostering positivity and cultivating a strong team environment.

In addition to conveying my concerns to you directly, I intend to forward this to your corporate headquarters for further attention and consideration. It is my sincere hope that this issue will be thoroughly investigated and remedied to uphold the reputation and standards of Planet Fitness.
