Well spaced out except for what I considered the treadmills were too close together which would make it difficult for to to get down from unless I got an end one - knee problem. This location is the worst. I spoke to Jamie the manager and received every excuse under the sun when I reported an issue about the night shift employee monitoring just me and my father for whatever reason.(I have my assumptions!) She made us feel like we weren’t welcomed there while allowing everyone else to enjoy their workout. She faked vacuumed and acted as if she was picking things off the floor just to stay in our area. Areas that needed to be attended to.. she never even cleaned.

Great value for monthly fees, overall staff is kind and helpful. Other patrons are cool. One manager there is really bad at his job. Explained how I should call another PF manager to figure out how to solve his computer problem. Explained he wasn't good at that stuff so I needed to find help elsewhere. I made him repeat that 2x to be sure he truly believed he was incompetent and that I was responsible for seeking competence elsewhere. There was no one else at the counter waiting. I’ve been a member at Planet Fitness in Sylvania for over six years, and not once during that time has anyone told me to take a phone call in the lobby — until now. Let me be clear: I was using AirPods, speaking calmly, and not disrupting anyone. I wasn’t laughing, yelling, or drawing any attention to myself.

So being singled out and told I was a “distraction” is not only insulting — it’s absurd. If Planet Fitness is suddenly enforcing a no-phone-call policy, then it needs to be enforced consistently. I see people filming themselves with full tripods and selfie sticks, taking up space and clearly drawing far more attention than someone quietly taking a call.

And here’s the truth: there is zero difference between someone talking to a workout partner next to them and someone speaking on the phone — unless you’re choosing to create one. Selectively enforcing this so-called policy while ignoring actual distractions is a joke.

I understand staff are “just doing their job,” but if that means targeting quiet phone users while ignoring people who treat the gym like their personal studio, then something is seriously wrong with how this policy is being applied. I’m not here to be policed for something that’s never been an issue in six years — especially not when worse distractions are happening right out in the open.

This kind of arbitrary enforcement is disappointing and frankly unacceptable. I expect better from a place that claims to be a “Judgment Free Zone.”

I have a Black Card membership. My brother and I went to work out. There was a manager who asked my brother to show him his ID. He sat and checked his ID as if we were in a police station. I told him that I pay for a Black Card so I can bring whoever I want with me, and that this is not the first time they have done this. It is just a gym. I have cancelled my membership.

It's a nice gym I guess, I love 24 hr access during week but I do have issue with their bs billing policy. I started my account on the 3rd so I believe I should be billed on the 3rd which I was first month the 45 service fee on the 17 I did not anticipate that since I thought monthly and I'm disabled I have low income. So today I went to use the gym and got told since I'm 2days late I cant use the gym, I had cash but they won't accept that they want a card so they can charge you repeadly.. I will be looking for a new gym asap I don't like these practices shouldn't be to hard to find since there's like 4 in the area ..

This location forces you to "sign in" if you visit from out of town. PF needs to understand that I'm not paying for the ability to visit any location just to not use it. I paid for the convenience of going to all locations, stop bothering the customers who are paying you extra.

Awesome place to workout. Really laid out well. Probably the most tvs I've ever seen in a planet fitness. I think there were 22 TVs in the place.

They had the 30 minutes workout part off to the side instead of right in the middle.

It was not very busy when we went.

They have stand up tanning booths. They have laydown tanning beds. They have a hybrid tanning bed as well with red light therapy built into one of the tanning stand up tanning booths.

They also have 4 hydrobeds. And some massage chairs.

This is my absolute favorite PF to go to when Im visiting family in Toledo, OH! And suddenly it all made sense. I had made friends here with staff and other members. People I thought were good friends. I liked the equipment and was supportive to a staff member who was called out unjustly in another review. A review I removed moments ago. A review that was only acknowledged a few weeks ago by their social media reps who spat out their rehearsed response while no one at the gym appreciated it and all of them had shout outs.
I was away for a week in Texas. I returned to an entire different experience. One of total alienation. One of disdain and I could not figure out what I had done. Suddenly it all made sense. A new hire. Same guy I have a legal situation with. What does this have to do with a review for this particular location? After all this is a personal matter right? Yes. But it has everything to do with a staff that has chosen to halt not only their interactions with me but also halt their company's core philosophy NO JUDGEMENT ZONE.

Have been working out here for many years. Today I was alienated and treated very poorly from the worker named “Bryce”. Sad to say I was the only person of color working out that day and I could feel the tension from him, while I spoke in a calm manner. This is my home gym that I visit very regularly during the week. I first visited this location as it's nearest to my house, but not by much. So it's my home gym even though I frequent 5 or 6 different locations. This one is my favorite. The employees do a good job keeping things stocked and are always around cleaning, the layout is preferable to other locations, and it's typically not too busy, mostly regulars doing their routine at least during the hours I usually go. The only knock on this one is that the showers don't have as good of water pressure and don't get very hot as compared to others I've been to. But they're serviceable. Noah gave me my initial tour and was very knowledgeable and welcoming.

Overall, this is a good place to work out, especially cardio. Always clean and friendly staff, and the new black card area is very nice.

My only issue is with the temperature and humidity. This PF is noticeably warmer than the other area clubs. This causes the body to work harder to stay cool, which makes for much more uncomfortable cardio sessions. Not the case at other clubs (especially noticeable at the PF near Airport Hwy.) a few degrees cooler would be appreciated….I can’t take any more clothes off (that would cruel to your other guests if I did), but others could add an long sleeve or sweatpants.

Absolutely terrible remodel job! This was my go-to planet fitness in the Toledo area. Now, after a huge remodel, they’ve added tons of cardio and cable machines without removing any old equipment or adding workout space. Moved across town and worked out here for a couple months until I was told I can’t squat in socks and must have shoes on at all times. No big deal, so I checked the rules. Nowhere does it say you can’t do an exercise in socks. Not on the website, wall postings, contract, etc.

Spoke to the manager and was told it is a rule just not written down anywhere and they’ve only had it come up about three times. Not quite sure how it’s a rule then. Free teen summer is also about the worst promo ever ran, but that’s not on them.

Customer Service: was front desk welcoming and offer greeting coming/going, if able? Were they helpful when asked? Was their attitude generally positive?

2/5. Was stretching w/ only socks on (yes, still had on everything else...you're welcome :))...on a stretching mat...and was asked to keep my shoes on. All I could think was, "quick, get back behind the glass...I fear for your safety."

I would have gave Sylvania planet fitness A5 however there is no rowing machine. I was told to go to the one on airport or to a different location and I don't think that is fair... Especially when I only live one block away from the Sylvania planet fitness .
I've called and talked to two managers and asked if there are any plans to have a rowing machine put in in the near future or if they would consider designating a spot for a rowing machine and clerk said probably not. I asked him if they would call the main office and inquire about this and I never got any call back this was probably four times now that I've asked.
I have a group of probably 30 ladies where we all meet once a week and they all also saw the same thing. they will not join or they cancel their memberships due to no rowing machine.
It would really benefit this planet fitness in Sylvania to get one and put it in a designated spot for us rollers (rowers) LOL
all in all though it is a great experience I love the spa treatments I love working out and I love the friendly environment
please make sure you clean your bathrooms very thoroughly and your spa seats as well and your tanning booth and your infrared station as the virus is very catchy and many people sit on those as well as use the door handles faucets in br and public all day long. I am not saying that you don't I'm just saying I do not observe it when I'm there especially these high risk places front door knobs rails that people hold on too while exercising faucets etc etc

Horrible experience when my wife attempted to cancel her membership. She called in September, which was before the $39 annual maintenance fee was due, to cancel and was told over the phone it would be taken care of. Not once was told to cancel in person. We continued to be charged for the annual maintenance fee (since PF needed her debit card AND bank routing number they took the liberty to keep trying to take the money out of her account...major red flag) and was told by Jamie, the GM, that my wife never canceled and we should have done it in person. Yet somehow Jamie was able to cancel that day over the phone. Strange. I disputed the charge with my bank and Planet Fitness AGAIN refused to acknowledge our first attempt at cancelling. Most businesses don't risk potential return customers and their reputation over $39, but PF is the exception. Just Google search 'Planet Fitness Corporate' to see the atrocious reviews, this is nothing new for them. Steer clear of this business, and DO NOT give them your bank information as it will be passed to a third party billing agency (ABC). You will most likely regret it.

Black Card members for over 6 years and bringing a free guest was a complete joke with all of the protocol to get through. Brought in my 13 year old daughters birth certificate but they wanted a photo ID as well (for a 13 year old). Basically they want you to pay for the top membership but never get the “free” guest benefit. My wife and I canceled both of our black card memberships as no one was ever reasonable on the guest process.
