I have been a long-time member of the Power Shack Gym in Hilliard. Though I am primarily a runner, I use all available equipment to build muscle to maintain my endurance. When I have had to deal with unfortunate injuries, it became a rehab center, getting me back to regular activities sooner. I have seen individuals come and go, but I love the consistency of the facility. There are a lot of good people there!

I used to really love this gym. Unfortunately the contract that is now forced upon patrons is beyond ridiculous and not customer focused. I unfortunately fell upon hard times with housing and since I had been living either in my car or sleeping on couches I couldn’t prove that I moved or even that I moved to a distance that was eligible for cancellation. I will never sign with a gym again if I know they work along side the same contracting company. I attempted to reach out to the manager and never got a call back. Horrible culture. Horrible experience.

Been going here for around a month now and am very satisfied. It is a tad bit pricey, but they have every price of equipment you could need. They play great music 24/7. Gym and locker rooms are kept clean. The vibe is always great in there and it does not get packed. I have lifted at a lot of different gyms in Columbus and this one is definitely my favorite.

Been going here for a year now, I love it! The staff is very friendly and they have all the equipment I need. I started going here as a beginner and never felt intimidated. Incredibly friendly staff. Will see the same people at whatever time you go and everyone is friendly. Not typically crowded at all, especially in the mornings and evenings. Showers if needed with locker rooms. Will travel to come to this location.

This review is specific to Hilliard power shack. The gym core is a solid weightlifting gym with some specialty pieces from rogue and westside barbell. I don’t find it crowded either with waiting times. It has an exercise room for those who want space for yoga and stretching. My top issue is cardio machines needing replacement or repair. The bikes and ellipticals suddenly lose tension or have other issues. The stair climbers and treadmills seem fine. The industrial carpet might be from the gym opening. The equipment is better cleaned than the two major OSU gyms.

After being a member for over a year I cancelled my membership for multiple reasons. The gym is always filthy, especially the bathrooms which appear to have never been cleaned during my year of membership. If you ever do decide to cancel your membership I’m positive you will have a similar experience as I did and they will make it as difficult as possible to cancel so that they can continue to charge you long after you attempt to cancel.

This is far and away the best gym I’ve been to in Columbus. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable staff. Really great range of equipment. I’ve gotten some of my best workouts in at this place. It’s family owned and has been around for decades and it shows. You can tell that there’s a great community surrounding and supporting this place. What’s best about it is the environment - everyone’s somehow both about their business but also very down to help out or give advice if asked. I’ve recommended this place to friends and family many times and am going to continue to do so.

Been coming to this gym for about 2 years now and I gotta say I love it. The staff is kind and friendly and the atmosphere isn't intimating at all for beginners. Yes it's a little pricier compared to other commercial gyms but I never once had to wait for a machine or any equipment. From my experience every one practices proper gym etiquette and never did I feel discouraged during a work out session because there are definitely members who are competitors/ look like competitors working out near you. I've had positive experiences with other members in the gym and even had a few correct my form when I first started and gave me tips to help me better my lifts and optimize my work outs. All and all 10/10 would recommend. 💪👌

I've been going to Power Shack fitness since 2000. This is the biggest location of all the gyms. It's not new or shiny but if your objective is to workout? You'll like this gym. It has plenty of variety. Free weights or machines. Plenty of Elliptical machines for you. The membership price will fit your budget. I would be surprised if you didn't like it.

The locker room could be upgraded a little but it's not bad and will suit your needs if you're not picky.

I wanted to take the time to post and really just share how amazed and overly satisfied I am with Power Shack Gym in Hilliard. I’ve never been a member at a gym that takes the the time to know your name, where you work, how you’re doing and genuinely care about what you’re lifting. If there were more gyms like this, I truly believe it would make more people dive into their fitness and become healthier because they actually care about you getting physically fit. If you’re ever near the Columbus area they have four locations surrounding downtown in the burbs. Check them out and see what a real local gym should look and operate like.

Power shack is definitely a good gym. I’ve been a member here for the last 2 years and prior to that I jumped from gym gym, trying to find a gym that is fairly priced, with clean equipment, good staff, and not packed. I can say that this a gym that has all of that. Rarely do I find myself having to wait on equipment and I’ve been able to consistently reach my goals with the equipment that they have. Highly recommend!

Power Shack is an absolute well rounded gym. They have all of the equipment needed for SERIOUS powerlifting or body building results. Now this is where it gets awesome. A great Weight-lifter's gym with a welcoming atmosphere for all walks of the fitness spectrum. Clientele is diverse, the customer support is awesome, it gets harder to leave the more i'm in there. Whether you're a machine person, free-weight, body-weight, cardio, competition lifter, casual lifter, Power Shack is where you want to be. I respect the management and member's proud passion for this gym.. you'll be hard-pressed to find a legitimate old-school (but also new-school because they have all of the latest machines) anywhere else.

I've been a member of this gym for six months and its a great place to work out. I wish I had joined earlier. Power Shack has plenty of free weights and power racks for lifters in addition to lots of treadmills and machines for cardio. They also have a hip thrust machine for glutes which is very effective.

Power Shack is also well maintained. Its clean, and the soap and paper towels dispensers are re-filled promptly. Members are polite and do a good job of putting the plates back on the racks. The management and staff are friendly and responsive. This gym is a gem.

The gym is great. The ownership is great. The people working there are great. All around the gym is great.

The billing company used by the gym is horrible. They make it impossible to cancel the membership. Moved out of town and it took over a month to get ahold of the correct individual to cancel. The cancelation process was very long and involved. Please be aware when you sign up with a great gym that they do not handle billing and the third party company they use is atrocious.

People here are whiny. ANY real gym is not going to let you in to try the gym for free if you already have before. They also aren't going to let you out of a one year contract for free unless you move 100+ miles away.

This gym has a friendly great staff, it's clean, has almost every piece of equipment you could ever need, and of anything breaks it's fixed in a day or two good. You won't find a better gym than this in the area. If you want to pay 10 bucks a month and not have a contract then go to a crappier gym like planet fitness. You don't get the best quality of things for lower rates. Ex) station wagon vs a mercedes; box hair dye vs professional salon styling; etc.

Also this gym isn't even that much a month. Put on your adult pants.

Nick picolo, may be the worst customer service manager I have ever dealt with. I went in before Christmas (2016) to take your and try club out. He verbally assaulted me and said he would not give me a 5 day pass, even though in company website, it states 5 day pass, 1 time a year per person. He said I was in in 2013 and I already tried club out.
I just went in and tried to redeem a 5 day pass, Jan 22, 2017, I said I came in to try out club and have friends that are interested, he said not interested, there in the biz of selling memberships, that I was on camera, they are a private club, and if I came back I would be arrested. I said nothing but looked in disbelief, and he said why are you looking imposing? Seriously?
I asked for the owners number. As a business owner myself, I would want to know knowing my employee was rude and turning people away. He refused to hand out owners info. Which leads me to believe Mr. Napoleon is the owner. Its public record, so I will find out and contact owner

Never sign up with this company. I was told at the time if I moved 25 miles away from the closest location I could cancel. The billing company they use will not accept a drivers license as proof. I had signed up for a 1 year membership in April 2015. In June of 2016, I realized my account was still being charged. Confused, I called for a explanation in which I was told I had renewed in April. Um, no? I haven't been in over 6 months (I signed up for a new, cleaner gym with better equipment that didn't regularly break down and bathrooms that weren't disgusting). I was told to call back when a manager was working - so I did - and he said after 12 months my contract became a month to month agreement. Okay, maybe you should have brought that up beforehand... but then I was told they don't handle cancellations and to do so I needed to call their third party billing partner. Seriously? They had no problem signing me up... I called Affiliated Acceptance, their third party partner known for customer complaints and fraudulence, and was told I needed to write a physical, post-office certified cancellation letter and mail it in stating my name and account number and it would take 30 days to process. So another month of being charged... Are you kidding me?! Had I known this information was hidden in my contract or that Power Shack worked with such stone age shady partners I would have never signed up.

cons- First, They keep it COLD inside, I can't get my GF to go back because it is so cold in there, keep in mind it is 30 degrees and when I am not going to the gym I wear shorts and a jacket, but when I go to powershack I layer it up. Second, the place has been around 20 years, which for me is fine, but I know some people prefer new stuff, older stuff in my opinion has more character though the locker rooms could use some bleach and airing out. Third, dumbell pairs only go up to 100 or 110, anything heavier is mismatched.
Pros- good array of equipment, plenty of weights and cardio, doesn't mind if you actually LIFT weights, you can use chalk (but clean up after yourself), aka this is more of a GYM than a "fitness room", even though I listed a number of cons it is still overall the best GYM in the area.
