I've been a member of Powehouse Gym for nearly 10 years now and it had had its ups and downs, mostly ups! At this point it is not uncommon to come in and find more new equipment and many other improvements to the facility. Powerhouse just keeps getting better! It can get crowded at times, but what do you expect from a gym that has continuously invested in what current members and new members want. Even that small inconvenience is not much of an issue with it being a 24 hour facility.

The cherry on top is that the staff and members are all awesome! If there were a vote to cast for the best gym in the greater Cleveland area, I vote for Powerhouse!

Great place with a mix of ol' skool iron, cross fit area, weight machines and much more. 24 hour access is a great bonus. So if you are looking for a great place to work out, if you are novice or seasoned, this is the place to be.

There is a lot of gym equipment available and it's a very popular gym because it's priced reasonably.The gym should prioritize cleanliness - have more sanitizers and cleaning products available for the equipment and hands; also it would be nice to have recycling bins to discard plastic bottles. Overall the gym could use a little makeover. Update: I noticed they are vacuuming more often and have sanitizer available.I did not see any recycling bins available yet .Update: this summer it has been really hot in the gym - temp 81 degrees in one workout room and it's really difficult to work out in these conditions and only 1 small fan available.

I’ve been a member at this gym for about 8 years now. It’s open 24/7 so you can come and go as you please at the most convenient time for you. The owners are very friendly and are willing to help you out with any questions or concerns as well as work with you with any other matters as well. The staff are all polite and welcoming… come give this gym a try!

This gym is so DIRTY it’s inexcusable and there’s a constant bad smell. Men’s and women’s locker rooms are an absolute joke. Lockers have a rusted hole at the bottom of them. It’s been like this for years, they do not care nor should you expect them to care in the future. Owner makes lousy excuses every single time.

I tried this place with the day pass since I am looking for a new gym. The workout was decent, but this facility could use major improvements. There are walls with chipped paint, torn flooring, dated equipment, and off-putting smells especially in the men's lockeroom. This place should prioritize cleanliness more.

Really dusty everywhere. Don’t think the workers are doing too much when they’re “at work”. Took Joe (the owner) about 2 years to get new showers even though the membership is very expensive compared to other gyms with similar equipment. The bathrooms are never stocked with paper towels, and the sauna is never cleaned. Marly is the only cool staff member. Dont expect anything to be clean, and expect to breathe in dust everywhere. Hope this helps!

My teenaged kids and I were visiting the area for a few weeks and needed a gym. This gym has all the equipment the three of us need for our varied workouts. The staff and other clients have been super friendly too. I wish we could keep coming! We’ll be back in the future.

If you’re looking for a musty gym with a bunch dust-mites and old equipment, this is the place for you. I really don’t review on Google but the smell in this gym is soo horrendous, I had to warn people before they make a mistake. Everything looks soo outdated, reminds me of the 90s gym. Soo much dust, this gym is not clean. PLEASE make sure you do a full tour before signing up.

Been lifting here for over a month now. I run a PPL legs split and have a focus on building muscle and strength.

Pros: The value of this gym is really hard to beat. The price is pretty good and it has all the machines you really need to build muscle. They even have a few machines that are tough to find, like a hip thrust machine and a track area to do sled pulls. I had an issue with one of the machines at a certain point and it was fixed within within a few days.

The community here is generally pretty helpful on giving advice on certain lifts; good things to look for if you are a beginner. The plates also seem to be fairly consistent; they are all mostly the same brand except for a few on one of the leg press machines. I'd also be hard pressed to think of a time I haven't seen an available treadmill/elliptical.

Cons: Mostly simple stuff. Some of the more esoteric equipment is fairly run down. Furthermore, there seems to be a real shortage of bar clips at this gym. I find myself running around a lot tracking down bar clips. I feel that it would go a long way if the gym bought a few sets of clips so every squat rack, bench press, and deadlift pad had a set.

Few people in this gym seem to bother with re-racking weights. Sometimes you will see an empty bench with a plate and a half on it and you'll be unsure if its being used or not. The curl bar area is usually a mess, and its not uncommon to see misplaced dumbells on the rack.

Overall I think this gym is a great place to work out if you live in the area. It has all the equipment I could think of and helpful staff. Very well thought out, versatile gym that anyone could benefit from, whether you're training to be a bodybuilder, powerlifter, build muscle, or just trying to get in shape.

So Im crying my eyes out right now because of this gym. This (berea) gym was supposed to cancel my membership 4 months ago... recently i relized they where still takeing money out my bank around 40$ a month. The desk person gave me the managers email to talk to. And i explained in detail that i need a refund and she totally ignored it... i call the desk girl again and she very rudley tell me Im not getting my money back. So here I am... i apparently handed them 150$ plus they made me pay a 15$ cancelation fee on top of all of it... Do not go here!!! If you do check your money to make sure they arnt doing anything sketchy because you wont get your money back!!!!

A solid gym at the right price. I have struggled with my schedule in the past- I like to go home after work, wind down, and eat dinner before going to the gym in the evening, when my workout won't take twice the amount of time because of lack of available equipment. They give you a key card with a barcode to swipe in after the staff goes home and it has come in clutch for me. Also during the Covid pandemic, they have kept things clean and taken the necessary precautions to keep people safe while they stay in shape. I can't see myself needing much else out of a gym

Best gym I have trained at. Solid atmosphere, very motivating. The people are pleasant and the equipment is varied. Everything is simultaneously heavily used and appropriately maintained. My only gripe regards the multi use cage in the plyo room, would like to see it fastened to the floor.

Joe and Mandy run a quality gym. By the way, it’s a real gym, with actual people working out really hard. They work really hard to make it as nice as possible. I see all the abuse people unleash on the equipment. They recently added a few Lifestyle Fitness machines that are just gorgeous. Go to Planet Fitness is you want a safe space, or need a juice box.

Was a member for a year. Had high hopes. Place smells awful and doesnt have a clean smell. For $35/ month, I expected a nicer locker room. People also are not very friendly. Owners seem to always be there and caring towards customers. Water fountain was broken for 3 months before being fixed. Doesn’t have WiFi and a cell phone signal won’t reach inside by the constant broken down ellipticals. For the money, look elsewhere.

Love this place staff is friendly always has been. Place is always clean it's nice to know you can work out at a gym and be comfortable in the environment. So glad that is open 24 hours now. Stopped in for a day pass to check the gym out.
No WiFi in 2017... first I’ve ever seen a gym without.
Many dead spots throughout the gym for no phone signal.

The music playing over the audio system had a lot of profanity for my whole visit. Several songs dropping F bombs and more.

The gym itself is in major need of repairs and upgrades, floors and walls are super beat up at best.

The heat was on during peak hours and it was 84 degrees according to the thermostat with absolutely air circulation.

What really got me was the smell of the men’s locker room.. I get it, it’s a gym. However, the smell was extremely rancid. As if many protein shakes had been spilled on the carpet throughout and not cleaned up. Absolutely rancid smell, the only way I can describe it.

The equipment was what you would except for the most part for a powerhouse Gym. However, about 80 percent of the gyms upholster on equipment was so damaged it looked as if it had been that way for quite some time.

I spent a week here while on leave from Germany. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I did not have to fight for equipment which was nice. The gym was very clean and the weights were always organized on the racks.

Well, I like Powerhouse's equipment and it's a nice, big facility, but the music is so offensive that I'm giving them a two-star because of it. It's not minor, radio-appropriate swearing, it's hardcore, graphic rap and heavy metal music. They have a daycare facility and play this music while the children are there. I don't see how this is acceptable for a public place.

I have been working out at this gym for a little over two years and have lost over 80 lbs am in the best cardio and physical shape of my life.. Atmosphere is why I keep coming back- Great people!!
