I have not attended a group class but came to Queen City for personal training. I had limited time to ramp up every aspect of my fitness for a few events and have been very happy with my results. I trained with Cody; he is knowledgable and easy to work with. I don’t have a CrossFit background, and am certainly not their strongest or most fit attendee. Many things were new to me including the terminology, which can be intimidating. I never felt anything but welcomed. It seems they also have a very engaged community at the gym. I’d recommend checking them out!

After some hesitation because of my age, I joined in early August of this year. It has been transformational! All the coaches are awesome—so attentive and very dialed in to each person’s fitness ability. The members all help and support each other in a big way. In 3 months it is already taking me to a new level of fitness after having spent many years as a competitive runner. It has made me a much stronger runner and more functionally fit overall. I highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic gym: from the knowledgeable coaches, the quality of the workouts, nutritional and lifestyle advice, and, most of all, the community, QCCF is an exceptional place. I’ll admit that I was a little unsure when I started 3 months ago (was I really a “CrossFit Guy”??) but now I’m fully hooked. Anyone can be a CrossFit person here: the coaches are attentive to individual needs, goals, and restrictions. Every workout has scaling options. And the other members couldn’t be more welcoming and supportive. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I came to Queen City CrossFit (QCF) 2 months ago because I was looking for something different. I am no stranger to hard workouts and being challenged but QCF is amazing. From the coaches to the monthly community events, everyone there is supportive and helpful. Attention to technique is critical here, and they are not afraid to adjust your form to ensure that you are safe. When I started, my sleep schedule was all over the place (maybe 3-4 hours a night) and my diet lacked the correct amount of protein (vegetables and carbs were never the problem). Since I started QCF, I am now getting close to 6-7 hours of sleep a night and my diet has balanced out and I’m meeting my protein goal more. This has made a huge difference in my body/life. I love it here and is so thankful to have found this place.

I took a leap of faith a little over a year ago and instead of just switching gyms, I ended up walking into a new family! I was welcomed with open (and seriously strong) arms from day one! The members truly celebrate each other and the coaches make classes fun while still upholding the highest standards. They’ve encouraged potential and helped me improve and develop new skills that I never believed I would be capable of…here we are handstand walking in our forties!? What?! To have support from a community that actually wants you to succeed, that gets together outside of the gym at least monthly to hang out and have fun, that will show up and throw down in a cute synchro partner WOD with you every Saturday…QCC is what CrossFit is all about!

I’ve belonged to several CrossFit gyms in the Cincinnati area, but Queen City CrossFit is by far the best. What sets this gym apart are the coaches, the members, and the environment that’s been created.

CrossFit is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re ready to change your life; your sleep, your energy, do it with this community at Queen City CrossFit.
The gym is clean. The coaches are top notch. The accountability is unmatched!!
We, my hubby and I, went in for “just for a tour” but left two hours later with a fire to change our health and work on our fitness. 10 weeks later, we are going strong, I don’t think this would be the case at another gym. I joined crossfit almost a year ago right after moving to Cincinnati and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s helped me stay consistent, pushed me to try exercises I never thought I could do, and helped shape my experience in a new city.

The workouts are challenging and the coaches always make sure your technique is correct before jumping into an exercise, no matter your experience level.

To me, the most important thing you can do for your fitness is find something you can stick with consistently. That’s the best way to make real progress. Queen City CrossFit has made it easy for me to do that since 2012.

I joined because I wanted to get strong and needed a way to stay motivated. It’s stayed a constant in my life because of the coaching, the members, the convenience, and the variety of workouts. Over the years I’ve hit strength milestones I’m proud of, but what I really value lately is starting my day by sweating, suffering, and laughing with the 5:30 am class.

If you’re on the edge of trying it out, just do it. I think a lot of new people worry about looking silly or feel like they need a “base level of fitness.” We’ve all been there, and honestly, we still are. Dan and his team have built a program that helps anyone, no matter where they’re starting, go further in their health journey and make friends along the way.

I joined Queen City CrossFit in February this year. Over the past few months I’ve not only grown to truly enjoy classes but I have met some wonderful people as well. Everyone is very welcoming. The coaches are all amazing and so so kind and helpful. You will never worry about getting your form wrong because you will be corrected asap. Also the movements are explained every single class so it doesn’t matter if it’s your first class or 100th you will be shown correct form. CrossFit will truly humble you while simultaneously giving you results you feel fairly quickly. It’s truly became something I look forward to doing. I love not having to come up with workouts or wondering what to do next. It’s also nice how it’s always something new or different. It doesn’t get repetitive at all. I joined Queen City CrossFit a couple of months ago and I love it! I was looking for something with structure where I could be pushed, compete, and grow and CrossFit has been exactly what I was missing in my routine for years.

TL;DR: Queen City CrossFit is more than just a gym; it's the place where you transform into the best version of yourself.

I joined QCCF to get back in shape, but what I've received in the past 7 months is more than just a number on the scale.

A decade ago, I was injured playing college rugby and I never returned to that same level of athleticism. I felt disconnected from my body and that mental betrayal manifested as I grew heavier and unhealthier over the years (overweight, high LDL, on-track for future CVD or diabetes).

I moved to Cincinnati about 8 months ago for school determined to become the person I always knew I could be (professional, physically, mentally). I joined QCCF to take care of the physical part. However, with the stress of work and life, CrossFit quickly became my daily respite.

It is the part of the day I cherish most. When I'm trying to finish the WOD, the only thing I'm thinking about is my heart rate, not the myriad of tasks I have to do or the events of the day. But most importantly to me, I'm reconnecting with my body and surprising myself with what I am able to do physically that I thought I would never be able to again (I'm pointing at you squat snatches!!!).

I feel better physically and mentally. The mind-body connection is what CrossFit has given back to me and I'm so excited to continue my fitness journey with QCCF. One day I'll be an RX athlete ;)

Love this box! The coaches are thoughtful, knowledgeable, and super encouraging. Since the class sizes are small, they really pay attention to everyone, making sure you’re doing movements correctly and pushing yourself in the right way.

I highly recommend trying out QCCF if you’re in downtown Cincinnati. The coaches are welcoming and very knowledgeable, and made me feel at home right away. Queen City CrossFit is the best!
I started here with absolutely no experience or knowledge of what CrossFit even was. Queen City CrossFit offers an on-ramp program that allows you to work on your skills in a smaller setting to allow you to build strong fundamentals and have more personal coaching tailored to your needs! The coaches are very knowledgeable and always ready to help with form, technique, and modifications!
The regular classes throughout the week are a great way to meet people and build a sense of community. There are tons of community events and the team is always ready to accept anyone from a beginner to a seasoned athlete with open arms.
The workouts themselves are awesome too! Every class is challenging, engaging, and scalable to your level of fitness! The coaches do a great job of watching every athlete and ensuring you’re always progressing safely and doing the workouts with good form!
They also offer free nutrition coaching, body composition scans and tailored personal coaching programs to help you reach your goals!
Queen City CrossFit has been such a blessing for me and a light in my life. From not knowing how to lift a barbell to achieving each of my goals- Queen City CrossFit has changed my outlook on fitness for the better! I only wish I could bring them all with me when I move 🩷

I trained at Queen City CrossFit for the week I was in Cincinnati for work in January. Dan was quick to get back to me with communication when I asked some questions and was very accommodating. I’ve been doing CF for 10 years and I’ve been to CF gyms all over the world and this gym was great. Definitely in the spirit of a true CF community as the coaches were friendly and the fellow members in the classes were so open and welcoming, chatting before and after the workout. It was a great atmosphere all around and there were two CrossFit dogs present which made my workout even sweeter. Located right downtown and easy to find. I attended the 5:30 am class, which was full of welcoming people, a cute dog, and great energy despite the early hour. Dan was an awesome coach, giving me tons of helpful cues. I wish we had a gym like Queen City in my town and would recommend it to anyone in the Cincinnati area!

Came into Cincinnati for a work conference and decided what the heck Queen City CrossFit is about a half mile down the road from my hotel. And I went..
Folks let me tell you, talk about a very welcoming and almost "at home" feeling environment. Coach Daniel was extremely welcoming and inviting along with EVERYONE in the box. They didn't see me as some guy just coming in and not talking to me. Everyone wanted to get to know me, I felt extremely welcomed. Warm up was done all together so coach Daniel could watch everyone closely and provide recommendations/improvements. The metcon was a great one. I felt very welcomed. Everyone, if you are going to be in downtown Cincinnati for a little bit and want to get your workout done, get to Queen City CrossFit.
I'll be headed back today for a second workout!

As someone who was not an athlete growing up...but someone who wants desperately to be able to travel, move, climb stairs and consistently do things with my family as I age, at the age of 48, my husband convinced me to try Crossfit. We started at another Crossfit gym, which I really enjoyed and definitely saw improvements, but we decided to change to Queen City Crossfit when we moved to OTR due to proximity. I honestly thought that all Crossfit gyms were relatively similar, but the experience has been different, especially in regard to Dan's coaching. He is so invested in each one of us in class, no matter what our level is...with corrections given frequently (always encouraging) to ensure that we are completing the moves to the best of our ability. I really appreciate the instruction on progressing through the moves, the scaling options, and his ability to figure out where we really are...and to help us to get where we want to be. Fantastic gym - highly recommend.

5-stars for QCCF for sure, a gold standard for Crossfit gyms. I had been out of regular gym attendance for a couple years due to moves and some injuries, and Dan and the team were welcoming, encouraging, and willing to help wherever I needed it. The coaches are knowledgeable and helpful. The workouts are always unique and the gym members run the gamut of talents and abilities, providing a good setup for anyone looking to grow themselves. The community is very nice, but the gym is money-driven and inflexible. Pricey cancellation feels and a 48 hr. membership cancellation policy. I cancelled my membership two days before the first of the month, but hours after the 48 hour deadline. I was therefore charged the $189 for a month I will not be using the facility, and they refused a refund or to work with me in any way. CrossFit is something I work hard to afford, and now I have to delay working out for a month because I can’t afford two gyms and this gym wasn’t working for me. This is a business, not a community-driven space. Take care.

I've had the pleasure of being a member of QCCF for almost a year. QCCF is a supportive community that has helped me achieve meaningful fitness and nutritional goals. I worked with Dan on nutrition for my first few months, which set a solid foundation for my fitness journey. I just joined this gym a few months ago and it is such an awesome place! The people are welcoming and encouraging. The owner Dan is approachable, kind, and keeps things organized and running smoothly. Don't worry about it if you're out of shape - the coaches will help you modify workouts to fit your needs and you won't feel too out of place. Best gym ever! Dan and Renny create a very welcoming atmosphere no matter your level of fitness. I've never left a class without laughing. Such a fun group of people and everyone cheers until the last person finishes the workout. You'll always be supported. I also echo the comments ... gym is pristine, equipment is well maintained, and Dan ensures safety above all. You are well versed on the WOD (workout of the day) and the coaches personally help you determine movements, skills, etc. to ensure you're getting a challenging and safe workout. I'm in my 50's and 8 months ago had never been really been to a gym. I had tried the YMCA a few times, but didn't really have a plan. I chose QC because it was super convenient for me to go at lunch or right after work. The first 2 months were pretty hard, even though I scaled most of the workouts. But what works for me is... I go there for one hour and don't have to think about it. Just go ...and do it and leave breathing hard. I have grown to crave it. I really appreciate the coaches, especially Evan, they push but know I have limits. I am in the best shape of my life and feel awesome. thanks.

This is a fantastic place to drop in or begin your Crossfit experience. I dropped in for a workout due to my local box having their 5:30AM program cancelled for the morning. Evan (the owner) was very kind and helpful through the whole process. He referred me to their website to purchase the drop-in and I was ready to go. The facility itself is on the smaller end, but there is plenty of equipment and despite the cramped quarters, everyone fits well and there is space to get your WOD in. Evan personally coached the class I was in, he was efficient and very observant in making sure everyone was on point with their form. I also appreciated that everyone here is used to wiping down equipment, chalk, sweat, etc. So despite it being small it's for sure the cleanest Box you will see. There is also a shower as well if you need to drop in early and shower before heading to work. Will definitely come back and recommend.

I would definitely not recommend this box for a drop-in. Crowded, coaches are not welcoming. I got paired up with someone who just started crossfit two weeks ago and ending up being her coach and lifting extra light weights.
Weird "boys do WOD" first because we don't have room. Girls stood around watching until we could work out. Overall very disappointed.

Dropped in to QCF for a workout while in town for a wedding. Evan was prompt and courteous when replying to emails. He also happened to be my coach during class and specifically addressed some of my mobility issues. I could see he takes the time to instruct, coach, and drive improvement with all his athletes - he's paying attention. The workout itself was the right mix of varied, fun, and challenging and was the perfect way to get my dancing legs ready for later that night. Thanks Evan and QCF.

One comment -- I always like when dropping in to a gym they give you a discounted (or free) tee - the extra drop-in fee you toss gyms is always pretty steep, so I feel like getting a memento out of the deal helps soften the blow to the wallet.

I did not have a good experience at this CrossFit gym. At first, I thought that CrossFit just wasn't for me but then I joined a different CrossFit gym and the difference has been night and day.

This location is simply not beginner-friendly. Nearly all of the members here are hyper-athletic—which there's obviously nothing wrong with—but when hyper-athleticism translates to elitist attitudes and unwillingness to help others who are still learning—that's when it turns into snobbery. I received very little constructive assistance from anyone at this gym. I was continuously over-coached by trainers who would get frustrated at me for not doing movements correctly and slowing the class down. The last straw was when I was openly mocked by one of the trainers for looking ridiculous when I was earnestly trying to learn one of the movements. Not cool.

If you are a beginner looking to start a CrossFit program I would not recommend this one, there are plenty more out there that are much more beginner-friendly and less full of CrossFit snobs.
