be careful who you do business with or support. @risefitmedina fraudulently charged my dad's credit card after I personally went and asked the owner @ifbbpro_amanda if I could buy my weekpass the next day , I even said she could prorate me for that day so she did not lose out on any business. mind you I been a member there for atleast the last 4 ish years . so its not like she was dealing with a stranger or new customer. she told me okay and then I went and worked out for that night. she then went behind my back and charged my account for a 10 dollar day pass. the next day I went and purchased a week pass like I said I would because when I do bissness my word is my bond. mind you all she had to do was be honest with me and tell me no that was no and I would have just left. also there was a witness to this. I don't know why people can't be upfront hope this post helps someone out if your deciding where to spend your hard earned money. the pictures are proof im a man of my word. Integrity still matters!!!

In my opinion; this is the best gym in Medina County. Iβve been going to Rise for almost 3 years now. Sure you can go to Planet Fitness, but itβs very crowded and a bit judgmental. Rise has a great environment for all ages and is incredibly welcoming. The staff is wonderful! The equipment is great, they are 24/7, they have showers, classes, and even child care. If you want a more intimate gym setting this is the place to go.

I signed up with rise almost 10 years ago before they opened. They've always been great. Facility is clean, modern, and has a good selection of equipment. The staff has always been great as well. I took a couple years off when we had 2 kids back to back. Today was the first time that we all came in together (wife and our 1 and 2 year old). Emanuel at the front desk is amazing! Got us checked-in in no time with a great attitude. Emily (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was fantastic with our kids! She did a great job not only with our 2, but the few others she was watching. At one point one of the kids got fussy, and I notice Emanuel come help. This is truly a great team! I always see Emanuel cleaning the facility, reorganizing the weights where they belong, and always seems to be in a good mood. I HIGHLY recommend Rise!

Limited floor space near the free weights, bench press, etc. Can get crowded easily in there. Locker rooms are a little small. Other than that itβs a solid gym. Plenty of options as far as machines go, smoothie bar, modern equipment, seems to always be clean in there.

Very toxic atmosphere and also very dirty. The staff doesnβt attempt to clean their equipment despite the fact you can see the salt from other ppls sweat on the treadmills. I once saw one of the trainers (some wannabe bodybuilder) pick his nose and wipe it in the treadmill he was walking on. He also was drinking a smoothie and on his phone while working a client. Very unprofessional behavior. I know a few employees who have quit working there due to the toxic environment. People tend to judge you and look at you funny if youβre not familiar to them. Also Iβm pretty sure thereβs no AED in the gym even though itβs a 24 hour gym (what if someone goes down when staff isnβt there ?) also one of the employees letβs her dog run around which I do not think is right especially when considering some people may have allergies to dogs. Something to think about. Overall, go to different gym.

Joe and Mandie are top-notch gym owners. They do a great job at mixing old-school elements with new, more modern machinery. If you are looking for a gym where you can put in the work, to make yourself better, then this is the place! If youβre looking for a social club with soy lattes and cute Taylor Swift music, this is just not the place for you.

Lots of space and equipment to use however the floors are always dirty. The treadmills are also very worn down which is a big disappointment for someone who enjoys getting their cardio in on the treadmill. I also reached out to a personal trainer on two occasions to help me with a personal fitness goal and he ignored me both times.

I agree with most of the guests on here rated this establishment a1Star because I experience the same thing they do . The new Owner woman name Amanda have a very unfriendly look and attitudes. Seem racist as well . Some of the men staffs also have no smiles on their face , unfriendly and attitudes as well. Itβs sad to see people like herself ( Amanda) as an owner of a business canβt even have a good attitudes toward customers, whoβs bringing business to keep her bills paid . Canβt even Understand one simple rules owning a business -SERVICE WITH A SMILE -. Sad !!!

I joined Rise Fitness : Medina in 2018 and absolutely loved the gym and the employees. Unfortunately, for reasons I was not privy to, they made the decision to close, but were saved for a brief time before they decided to close for good at the end of 2018. There was a sign posted at the front desk one day that said something to the effect of βWe are sorry we are closing. Thank you for your support. We will stop billing you at the end of December 2018.β
I went to a new gym in Medina and was under the impression that the sign posted by the gym itself was accurate.
Rise Fitness was purchased by new owners who kept it open, but with whom I never signed a contract.
I noticed today that Rise Fitness was still charging me a monthly membership fee. I thought for sure this was an oversight because Rise Fitness told me that I would not be charged after December 2018.
I called and spoke with Amanda. I explained the situation and asked why my membership had not been cancelled. She stated that an email was sent to all Rise members telling them that the memberships would stay active. I donβt have any emails from Rise Fitness, including an email that says I would still be charged a monthly fee after the gym itself told me they were closing.
I explained that I had not attended Rise Fitness since December 2018, and surely she could understand that the last info I received was that they were closing, so I would like a refund for the last 3 months that I was charged. She replied that based on policy, she would not refund the money, but sheβs would cancel the membership (the same membership that should have been cancelled in December 2018).
I asked to speak with an owner, and Amanda explained that she was an owner, and that she would not be issuing a refund.
$35 per month for 3 months is $105. I hope that was worth it for this negative review of your business. It could have gone a completely different way, but decisions were made, and based on my policy, I decided to make it known to the Google-verse.
Iβm curious how many other members donβt realize that the gym they thought was closing is still taking their money each month. I suppose thatβs one way to earn a profit.
Snap fitness in Medina has been wonderful since I made the switch in December 2018!

Decent facility. Tried it for a month with a friend in town because mine didn't have a month rate. I mostly liked it but they significantly raised their prices..most workers are great but not all consistent with their information and kindness. They were originally price competitive, then after price hike, priced them $150 more per year (+ initiation fee) than the Rec center after discounts . Will stick with Rec. Weight equipment not as robust as Rise but sufficient plus other activities and amenities like pool, gymnasium, Jacuzzi, and sauna for cheaper. Rise might be a good place for you if you like a lot of classes and need child care, or like having the bigger array of strength equipment.

I've seen many gyms both in and out of the military and can say I was very impressed when I first came to this facility. Clean environment, equipment, and place for your children. Staff is friendly and willing to help with any questions you may have. Equipment to suit your needs from cardio, heavy lifting, and classes. Military friendly and pricing that is justified due to all they have to offer.
Be cautious reading these low ratings for they are either biased or lack the knowledge of how a gym operates.
Also, NO PURPLE!

This is the WORST gym I have ever been to. The management was HORRIBLE. I am so appalled at the way I was treated. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I got nasty looks from workers and they are very unprofessional. The personal trainer steals your money and teaches you at a high school level. It is a joke.

If there was an option for 0, thatβs what I would give for the customer service. The facility itself is nice but the staff and management is so poor I would never join other than it being covered by my insurance. The staff was unaware of how to create a Tivity account. There was no discussion of extra fees. The second day I went, as I was leaving, I was informed in had to pay extra fees for my children. I do not have an issue with this as most gyms do charge- however they did not inform me when I got to the gym and instead waited until I was leaving and would be charging me for the day. Thatβs just bad business. Never good when management is just out to βmake a buck.β If they donβt like the reimbursement for Tivity- then they shouldnβt have accepted the plan.

There's so many great things to say about this gym that I don't know where to start! I've been a member for a little over a year now and also take classes, plus my daughter goes to their little kiddie daycare several days a week. I love all the classes I've taken there so far (they switch them up once in awhile, so it's never the same for too long- which I love! All of the instructors are great!) and their employees that work In the kiddie room are awesome with the kids (and the front desk ofcourse).
I was a member atvthe medina recreational center for years and I tried out snap fitness(both are not impressive at all)... medina rec was charging me 54$ a month for daycare alone and that was when I was taking my daughter with me only twice per week! Plus their classes which are 48$ a month (which I took one class and didn't like it so I started looking for other gyms at that point) and then the membership cost which is pretty ridiculous even for being a resident!
At Rise Fitness, I pay a total of 54$ a month all together!! This includes membership, classes, and unlimited daycare in this price! I can only speak highly of this gym and hope they keep up the great work! If you haven't tried them out you need to give them a chance π
P.s.- did I mention they're open 24 hours a day and have a smoothie bar? Also when you join rise fitness, you get a discount at palm beach tan, which is nice as well!

The facility is great, has a nice variety of equipment. The kids care room is perfect, big windows (with one open), so you can see and hear your child at anytime you want. Our whole family loves it! My only complaint would be that the shake & smoothie cafΓ© doesn't actually serve healthy stuff, smoothies are made with syrups, etc. That was our only disappointment upon starting up here.
