I am proud to say I’ve been working with Alyssa Drown and Paige DeCrane for 10 months now. Built Training Facility has helped me grow in my knowledge of training and push my body to do things i thought to be impossible. Alyssa excels in working with people of all abilities, ages, personalities and backgrounds. Paige knows exactly when you need a pep talk and when to break complicated movements down. Both of these ladies are extraordinary at reading your body language, asking about food, sleep and stress for the week and adapting your program accordingly. I am so lucky to have found trainers that make it easier to accomplish the goals I’ve set for myself.
The owners Jim and Angelis Cash are incredibly supportive, and it’s clear to me they are the source of the amazing community Built Training has. Built training also offers supplements, which makes it an easy centralized location for many of the things you need to get started.

Wasn’t greeted at the door, my friend and I were waiting at the door for 10 minutes. We were looking around trying to find someone to talk to which didn’t take to long because of how small the gym is. We talked to a trainer and he went to go ask the owner the question we had even though we had more and the owner didn’t even get up to come talk to us face to face.

I have been to many gyms in Columbus and have never visited a more well ran facility than Self Made Columbus. Just a great family environment overall with a bunch of knowledgable trainers and great owners! High-end equipment as well that is properly maintained.

My wife and I selected Karlee Gilliam as our certified trainer at SMTF. Karlee was simply excellent. We are seniors and she modified the workouts to fit our level. She made every workout challenging, but yet so much fun! Within months I was able to loose weight to where I needed a smaller belt, and am able to touch my toes again! I lost fat and gained muscle, strength and flexibility. I feel better. I highly recommend Karlee Gilliam if you are looking for an effective trainer who is able to make working out fun! Who knew?

I love this gym! It’s one of the few gyms where I have felt at home and comfortable. It’s never too crowded and the equipment is everything I could want plus some.
I work with Karlee Gilliam and she is amazing. When I started I felt very overwhelmed with the amount of information and methods available in the fitness industry. She is very knowledgeable and has helped teach me every step of the way. I am currently down 50lbs and I’ve never felt better in my life.

I loved the atmosphere from day one.
So much so that I am an active trainer here.
I train as often as possible and enjoy all my clients and everyone else who is at the gym.
It's great to see and be around folks who genuinely want to invest in themselves and become better than they were yesterday.
The facility does a great job of maintaining cleanliness, equipment is well managed, music is great, upgrades are frequent, supplements are top notch, and the variety of support offered here is something not found many places.

I train specifically with Cody. I couldn’t recommend him enough. He has very competitive prices for his wealth of knowledge. He has a great ability to provide you with a next-level mind/muscle connection to any specific body part that you’re targeting.

The gym was great… full variety of free weights and machines. Very clean and maintained well. I did a one-on-one with Cody McClung. I’m not anywhere new to lifting, but wanted help perfecting my form on some exercises, and he helped me do just that.

Lexi, my personal trainer, is an absolute rockstar! I’m in my 30s and started about a year ago working out a few times each week with Jim at SMTF and so far I’ve lost and kept off 25 lbs, my cholesterol and overall health has improved significantly according to my doctor, and I’ve gained quite a bit of muscle since starting. Jason is one in a million. He really knows his stuff and is supportive both in and out of the gym. Every session has always been focused on the long term goals and his approach to training has always been from a place of personal experience and professional studies. He's flexible, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to truly be there for his clients. In my time training with him, I've never once had any complaints. I’ve been training with Alyssa Drown for over 8 months now and she’s the best. I come in to workout and know I will be challenged but also be encouraged. I feel like I’m working out with a friend and she always makes me feel 100% comfortable.
Self Made as a gym itself is great. The owners, Jim and Angelis, are amazing. The gym is always clean and the equipment is very well taken care of. The environment is always fun and inviting, which was a huge plus when I started coming here because I had some anxiety about working out in commercial gyms. I would recommend Self Made to any of my friends or family in a heartbeat.

Lexi is a phenomenal coach! Her programs are intentionally designed to build functional strength. She’s great at modifying/customizing workouts to target areas of weakness. Let me tell ya, if you don’t have a personal trainer here by now, you’re missing out. I personally train with Lexi, I have been for over a year now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m so much stronger, more confident in myself and at the gym. She’s taught me so much about my body, muscles, nutrition, adaption and life style. Her knowledge is insane and truly I’ve never had a trainer with so much energy and passion for what they do and the people around them. The group that she’s created has given me such an amazing amount of support and love through out this journey. If you are looking for a personal trainer look no further than Karlee Gilliam of KG Fit at Self Made Training Facility. I started doing personal training sessions with Karlee after having my first baby. Karlee taught me about the importance of weight lifting and the nutrition component of training as well. I lost 30 pounds from my post pregnancy body to now and was so happy to have Karlee help me achieve my fitness goals. She is so wonderful to work with and even helped train my 60 year old mom. She is skilled with every fitness level and can modify to your exact needs. She offers group training, one on one sessions, or a drop in class on Sundays.

Jonathan Nossa is the most knowledgeable trainer I have trained with. He takes the time to understand your goals, develops a comprehensive plan, to include nutrition, supplements, lifestyle habits, and most importantly, holds you accountable to yourself. Your only going to get you out into it, and he lets you know that first hand.
His training sessions are put together for any fitness level. But don’t get me wrong, he pushes you when he knows you can go further. I have been training with Jason Bai at SMTF since November 2021. It has been a rewarding 17 months.
SMTF is hygienic and well equipped. Everybody that utilizes the gym, be them trainers or clients, respect boundaries, work hard, and just generally have a good time.
Jason has been my personal trainer for the entire 17 months. He is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about fitness. He caters his training plans around individual needs, and changes them accordingly upon feedbacks. More importantly, he holds a practical and constructive mindset when it comes to making process. He never seeks to force out fast and dramatic changes but instead, paces them to be sustainable and lasting. I made significant gains with my upper body strength and squatting PR training with him 2-3 times a week, and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.
If you look to make changes with with your health and your body, Jason would be of great help to make that journey more structured and efficient. And if you are looking for a gym community that’s welcoming and uplifting, SMTF is the place to go.

I've consistently been going to Self Made Training Facility for the last two years - since Jan '21. The atmosphere is a perfect fit for me as everyone there is with their own trainer. This makes it easy to work in a set and provides order/kindness that the other big-box gyms don't give you. My trainer Jim has been great!!! I am absolutely over the moon about Self Made Training Facility!! This is the first time in my life that I have felt comfortable & at home in a gym setting. All of the equipment is amazing & the whole gym is spotless. It truly feels like a gym family here :-)
My trainer, Karlee Gilliam (KGFit), is also OUTSTANDING. Karlee radiates positive energy in and out of the gym, is friendly, caring, and inclusive. Karlee is passionate about making fitness and wellbeing accessible for all, and truly tailoring each client’s training plan to meet their individual needs and goals. It is evident that Karlee pours every piece of her heart into the work she does, through all of her clients’ insane progress and successes.
I would recommend that anyone wanting to take the first step in their healing and fitness journey to work with Karlee!!! Such an amazing human :-)

I’ve been training at Self-made since April 2021 and I’m in love with it. I train with Karlee who is amazing. She is always super flexible with my schedule and always ready to work and push me to my limits. I love the environment of self-made, it’s clean and everyone else around you is friendly too. If you need any fitness needs, I highly recommend KGFit by Karlee!!

- Self Made Training Facility (SMTF) is a top notch facility to go if you’re looking for help reaching fitness goals. All trainers I’ve interacted with are professional, especially Jonathan Nossa. As a veteran of both the Marine Corps and Air Force, Jon displays character traits that you’d expect from someone with 20+ years of military service. He is always available and self-improving so he can better serve those who he trains. His plans are written out for you to follow, and will go in depth as you want (nutrition, workouts, etc). At the beginning of the month he already has a plan for the weeks ahead, but can adapt on the fly as necessary to meet current needs or to refocus on something that may need more attention. If you’re unable to come into the facility itself, Jon will write-up workouts that you’re able to complete on your own (if you have the self-dedication and mental fortitude).
- Jon is also more understanding than most, and understands that life happens. Jon has had clients poached due to their constant fraternization with other trainers, looking for the best deal possible. He has accepted these clients back from the good of his heart, only to have them prove to be exactly what they’ve been in the past. However, this has not stopped him from working his hardest for the clients he does serve. Jon has my friendship and my business for life.
- Any negative review of Jon most likely comes from immaturity, and most likely comes from the type of person that would leave him for another trainer in the same facility, only to ultimately return… then attempt to blast him for wanting to use him more but pay him less.

I’ve worked out that gym for a few months, it’s a nice gym but the trainer I had worked with was not a good fit for me. (Jonathon Nossa) I decided I wanted to part ways with him. I had paid him for the entire month ($350) when we decided that we were not going work together anymore he then refused to respond to my messages or calls and he refused to give me money back. I reached out to the owner to try to let him know what was going on and I got no response from him either. Just really unprofessional if you ask me. I would not recommend anyone to that trainer specifically.

not what i was expecting. was welcomed at the door by a couple people, but everyone seemed desperate for me to come train with them. was looking for help to bet trees myself but ended up feeling degraded by a personal trainer who ended up being rude. owner wes wasn’t that great either. don’t really recommend

I work out with Cory (CORCARPFIT) about twice a week. Super great guy, he’s got a great energy and is always keeping the workouts new and entertaining. I never know what to expect going in, but I always feel great afterwards. He knows how to push in just the right ways and is super aware of past injuries and works around them. Facilities are always really clean too!

Super clean as well, that’s the first thing I notice going into a gym. Trainer recommendation: Darren Boykin (Flex Luger). By far the most personable and approachable person in and out of the gym. Self made training facility is great! I’m a germ freak so I’m very weird about cleanliness and this is definitely one of the cleanest facilities I’ve ever worked out in! I work out with Darren Boykin and he’s one of the best trainers I’ve ever worked with. He explains each workout and is always there as backup if you need help with a set. Darren Boykin at Self Made is the best trainer I could ask for. I'm looking to get into better shape for my fiancée before our wedding, and this guy is helping to make that happen! All of the workouts are tailored to my abilities and he ensures that I get the best value in our training sessions by packing a ton into one hour. The facility is brand new, all the equipment you'd ever need (even an octagon ring!) and the atmosphere has been supportive and feels tight knit, in that everyone is rooting for you too succeed. Darren is very encouraging and you can feel his passion in what he does and his faith in your progress. Highly recommend!! Don't put it off anymore!

I’ve been training at Self Made since mid November with the always dancing, positive vibe Lexi! Her passion for training really shows each day you show up. She pushes you to the limits and is always there for you as a friend as well. I’ve seen tremendous difference in myself within these few months and it’s amazing! I’ve been trying to get these results for a year before but have had trouble keeping myself accountable! Lexi always is checking in on me and helping me track my macros to achieve my goals faster. I have been to many gyms. I can honestly say this one is by far the most fun and welcoming facility I have been apart of. I workout with @_bliftedup Brittani Koons and she is a ball of energy and makes me want to workout. When I look around I see all the trainers and what I can potentially learn and do. Brittani and I are trying one of Ryan’s boxing classes together cause I’m scared to try new things haha. She makes me feel like I’m not in this alone and that to me makes her stand out and makes me want to keep coming back to the self made training facility. They all have the same goal and to help you reach yours.

You come in with a goal and he will get you there. He’s hard working and enjoyable to work with. He designs work out to fit your specific desires. Fantastic gym with all new equipment and at least one of every possible machine. Also has a boxing ring and an octagon for MMA. I have been working out with Dylan Harlow for quite some time now. If you want results hes the right trainer for you. It is unlike any other training I have had. The training dylan gives out is intense, Its harder than any football, baseball, wrestling training and close if not better than any military workout I have had. When I started I wanted to gain muscle and pack on mass and dylan helped me with that. I started seeing results in as little as the first month. I would highly recommened at least trying to reach out to someone at this gym

I have been working with Trent Burke Fitness since November and love it! He pushes me enough that I'm seeing results quickly but not so much that I dread going to the gym. He also customizes workouts to improve skills that are important to my end goal. I also love that the gym is not open to the public which keeps it from being overcrowded! I have been working with Wes since November 2018 at SMTF. The place is great! Very welcoming and non intimidating. Depending on what you want to accomplish they have a trainer for you. It starts with the environment. 5/5 when it comes to the energy, the motivation, and the diversity each trainer expresses in their routines and clients. Not to mention the speakers in this place are nice and the aux is always playing something good since it comes from personal playlists. This place is awesome! I work with Ryan Dickey @RyanDickeyBoxing All brand new equipment. 24 hour access with a personal trainer. Boxing ring, octagon, turf field, Olympic lifting sets, InBody machine, dumbells up to 150lbs, and all the other normal gym equipment. Highly recommend.
