Cancelled my “contract” in May due to moving out of state and was charged again on October 6th stating it was charge that should been from June. Asked about my refund and it was not refunded. Should have known from my sign up experience I was overcharged and the number given to contact about billing never responded after 4 weeks and multiple text. Disappointed.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for about two months. Everytime I email the cancellation form they do not respond to the email, but will email me any other time and continue to charge me. I call them and they say they will have someone reach out to me. I have been charged even after sending the form. The gym was good and the trainer was great, the only complaint is dealing with the actual gym when it comes to cancelling and the lies about not receiving the form when I am showing it sent multiple times. Shady business.

Tremendous gym. Very clean. Very well-run.
People are in incredible shape—some of the best shapes, frankly.
Some are in triangles. Others… more creative arrangements.
Group fitness? That’s just the beginning. Believe me.
This gym is open. In more ways than one.

This was the gym that got me through law school. No, the equipment isn’t brand new nor does it have state of the art facilities. But that’s part of the charm. Rusted barbells and plates. It has everything you need if strength work is your goal. People and Arnold were nice too.

Ive been attending this gym for the past 2 years. I love the environment, convenience, and community at Shape Fitness. Everyone is so nice and willing to help with any questions I have about my membership and workouts. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a new gym!

Good gym for the price. Equipment is older but works fine, only 2 cables but it is not usually an issue for me. 24/7 key fob access and parking. Obviously not as nice as other gyms in Columbus but for the price I am extremely satisfied.

The Gym is overall great for convience and location BUT I recently had to stop my membership and training because I had emergency surgery and I was extremely prompt when it came to paying my fees. When I started my training, there was no policies i.e. payment, refund, scheduling, etc... explained in detail. I am a small business owner as well and if I have a customer that services weren't rendered, I refund promptly. Well, I had emergency surgery and I was stopped by my Dr up until August check up results to stop my training. When I finally got to talk with my trainer, after days of hearing nothing, I get this very vague response about no refund policy....which I wasn't asking for the entire amount back.... just for the time I did not complete. He went on to say my health was important, blah blah but I guess my money isn't important either given that now with my new medical condition I'm unable to work. Needless to say, I was very disappointed because you'd think the compassion and integrity would withstand alongside with the lack of detailed policy information. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Maybe I can get some results sooner that later. .

I was a member here before the pandemic and recently came back. Sadly, the equipment that was broken before the pandemic is still broken. There's no reason it has not been repaired in 3 years. I do like that you can come and go as you please, however. Given the price, there are other options that are better.

Limited gym. There’s only one of each of the workout equipment. One bench, one leg press, etc.. the timing that you decide to go workout here has to be perfect otherwise you could spend quite some time waiting for equipment to free up. I like that it’s 24/7

The issue I have with Shape Fitness is when did it become okay for a white female yoga instructor to whistle at Black men who want to cancel their membership? The lack of awareness and just overall stupidity of that moment is why Shape Fitness isn’t safe for Black men. And it doesn’t matter that the gym is owned by a Black man the people he employees do not respect Black men and he should re-evaluate his staff. Do we need a history reminder of Emmett Till?

Ps: since we live in times were unless you give a situation a name it doesn’t hold validity, Amy Lay is the person you need to get together!

The staff that I have dealt with are very courteous and professional. They take their jobs and reputation seriously. There are a good variety of machines for both strength and cardio. Has always been clean, everytime I have attended. I like gyms where staff AND patrons are friendly, clean and helpful. This gym exceeds these needs for me.

I was in the fitness industry for over 40 years. I've read the reviews and while I have no experience with the other Shape facilities, i will give you my 2 cents concerning the gym on Grant.. If you want a gym that is clean, taken care of, in the process of rectifying earlier issues and during most normal times of the day, staff are available. It's a FOB club, there are many, many positives and a few negatives to this type of club, If you want a positive work environment, old skool fit and features, a world class power-lifter in house most days. Then I can't recommend a better fit for you.
If you want new, shinny, people in uniform walking around and pretending to be "trainers", facilities, then SHAPE isn't your cup of tea.
But, with that being said, if you want to be around a group of hard working people who are more than happy to have you become part of the family. Stop in, this is where I'll be.....kickin my own butt!

I came in last month with paperwork filled out and left a message and they charged my card and started an account and on the message told me when I could come in but I couldnt understand on the machine so I called back.
I have called several times leaving messages asking for a good time to come in and get my fob so I can get in.
No one answers the phone, the mailbox is now full and no one ever responds to my messages.

The only staff I saw present after the day I joined was janitorial, they never answer the phone even during office hours, and theres no email to contact. The contract stated that if you don't show up at least three times a month, they'll cancel your membership for you, but a pal of mine didn't show up for three months and they never got cancelled. I literally had to cancel my debit card to get rid of my membership here. Honestly I can't recommend this place.

WORST management ever. I used to go to the Grandview avenue location and they just decided to close that locations without any notice. Not to mention that they place is dirtier than you could even imagine.

I love the gym and I love how little they bother me but I dont understand why they keep moving everything around so much and why they got rid of the only flat bench and why there are no paper towels anymore? But I really like this place they have lost everything I could ask for just need to hang a bag or 2 and put some paper towels in.

It's a bit simple. They removed the climbing ropes. Have two small showers. They need to answer their damn phone though during sign up hours or at least actually have someone there. They also need staff shirts because who the hell is who in there? I really have some complaints about the poor logistics here but it's just a gym. It's not City planning or anything.

Now the gym is going through construction, and it just became the crappiest gym I’ve ever been to in my whole life. The pedaling machine been broken for years and they never fix it, despite I’ve been telling them to fix it multiple times, I miss the good old days before the construction

This is a great gym to come workout at. I enjoy having the 24 hr access because sometimes I don't get off work until 9 PM at times. Its clean, and the price point fits my budget.
