I went in for my first day as a free trial day, and I had the best time. I immediately signed up for a membership. It was great to do a cardio, strength training, and a yoga/cool down in one session. It was also really nice to have a goal and a motivation set in mind for the workout but be able to go at your own pace. The staff were incredibly kind and the workout areas were so comfortable.

SPENGA Hilliard: A Masterclass in How Not to Run a Business
Dealing with the manager at this location was like watching a bad comedy—except no one was laughing. Her ego could give the Manhattan skyline a run for its money. I left her two messages and stopped by three times with no response. On the fourth attempt, I finally caught her, and honestly, I wish I hadn’t. The interaction had all the warmth of an ice storm and about as much grace as me trying to pirouette in steel-toed boots.
Let’s be clear: her only apparent qualification for managing a yoga/fitness studio is that she happens to own a yoga outfit. That’s it. Customer service? Zero. Empathy? Nonexistent.
I signed up, attended two classes, then got sick and couldn’t go back. Months later, I realized my card was still being charged. I owned up to my mistake and asked if there was anything they could do. Any business with even a shred of customer service sense would’ve said, “We understand—let’s work with you. Stick with us and we’ll make it right.” Instead, I got the robotic chant: “You signed a contract. You signed a contract.”
And just when I thought she had secured her place in the Customer Service Hall of Shame, she doubled down: “Oh, and you’re responsible for next month’s fee too, because we need 30 days’ notice to cancel.”
Seriously? That’s not just bad service—it’s a business model built on fine print, gotchas, and arrogance.
If you’re looking for an uplifting, customer-oriented fitness community, look literally anywhere else. SPENGA Hilliard is proof that you can slap on trendy branding and yoga pants, but you can’t fake integrity, decency, or professionalism. Therefore, SPENGA = “Service Poisoned Entirely by Narcissism, Greed, and Arrogance.”

I have been at Spenga for 2 years now and love it. The instructors are motivating and helpful. I’m very uncoordinated so I love when they teach me by modeling each strength and yoga positions. I discovered SPENGA through a neighbor and have been doing it now over 2 years. I love that it combines 3 of the recommended activities for health (cardio, weights & yoga). I've been a member of Spenga since late 2024. This is my first time joining a gym that offers a group class format. I really enjoy the group format, the accountability, and encouragement are very motivating and helpful. The instructors are very friendly, helpful, and motivating. I also like how they celebrate other members milestones. The only thing I don't like is the cancelation fee policy, which I find to be restrictive. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

The three 20 minute exercise sections were good. The cycling (spinning) was detracted by the very loud music, also the instructor was hard to hear. The loud music also made the 2nd section harder to understand the instructor. I probably won’t join the gym due to the loud music issue, I don’t need music that loud to be motivated.

This place is AWESOME! The instructors are fun and encouraging, while still challenging me to push myself and giving me the tools I need to reach my goals! The set up is sick, and all of the employees are so welcoming and kind. Coming in for the first time I felt welcomed and not judged, which was surprising to me because of how nerve wracking gyms can be. The pace of the class is quick but adaptable to where you are at, and it feels like there is no time to overthink, making it a more enjoyable experience.
If you are looking for a way to get fit and have fun this is probably the place for you, my sister has been here for a few months and she’s said her life has changed!

This is a really nice place to exercise with other like-minded people. The energy is very positive and there is hardly enough downtime to feel that unfamiliar-gym anxiety or shyness about where you're at in your fitness journey. Love this place! I had never worked out at a gym before and was super nervous when I tried it out. Not only were they incredibly kind and welcoming, I got an awesome workout! Have been going now for 3 years and it is such an important part of my week. It has been so good not only for my physical strength and health but also for my mental health. I miss it when I cannot attend. I love that one of their sayings is You vs. You, you don’t feel like you necessarily have to keep up with the person next to you and can progress at your own speed and ability. I also really enjoy the combo of 20/20/20 spin, strength, yoga. The hour flies by and you do so much within it. The instructors are wonderful. Very upbeat, encouraging, as well as entertaining :) It is also just a wonderful supportive group of people that attend. I am not one to spend money on myself, but this monthly membership is worth every penny I have paid. Go and check it out!

I'm not sure why I did not give my review before. I've been working out for more than 1 year here. Sometimes, with unlimited membership, other with 8 classes a month. That is one of the great things of this place. All the options and variety you have to keep moving. Personally, it is the first time I have kept engaging with exercising. Plus all the staff are excellent and beyond. I really recommend this place.
There are no tricky charges on your credit card, and they are very understanding when you need to change your plans.
I highly recommend you give a try.

The Hilliard studio is very welcoming and offers many different class times to fit your schedule. You simply book your sessions from the very convenient app and just show up! The staff are well trained and experienced, giving you motivation to push through and work hard to improve yourself. What I love most about SPENGA is their motto of “you versus you”. You take what your body needs to get stronger, and although you are in a small group the focus is on your own self. Unlike other spinning workouts where the resistance on the bike is a set value, at SPENGA you focus on the output power - which actually increases as you improve. This is GENIUS because the spinning will always be a challenge. As an athlete and business owner myself, I really enjoy my classes at SPENGA because it pushes me to become even better and I don’t feel like it takes over my already busy schedule since I can get everything done in only one hour. They make it very easy! 100% recommend to anyone looking to become more fit!

For any seasoned athlete or beginner to fitness, SPENGA is the place for you! They offer a variety of classes involving 20 mins of spin, strength and yoga. I look forward to working out here! Who knew I would ever say I look forward to a workout? I have been an unlimited member for a year now and attend about 12-14 sessions a month. The instructors are all encouraging. Each one has something they do or say during their class that pushes me to work a little harder or have a better mindset. Every 20 minutes we switch from spin to strength then yoga. I never have time to be burnt out on one thing. They use a variety of equipment for strength training. Besides dumbbells they utilize TRX straps, BOSU ball, slam ball, kettle bells, and the step bench. It is never the same workout. Each day focuses on different muscle groups and a mix of counted reps vs timed exercises. The instructors watch to make sure everyone is using proper technique to prevent injury. There are always lower impact options for the exercises also. Yoga (revive) has improved my flexibility and taught me to slow my breathing and focus mentally. The members represent a good mix of ages. I’m 49 years old with adult children and I feel like there are plenty of others close to my age. There are also many people in younger stages of life. Everyone is friendly, staff and members. Staff acknowledge members by their name when we arrive and when we leave. They acknowledge efforts of individuals during the session. They always encourage us to have fun. They have fun special sessions also, such as a costume ride in October or a pumpkin pie ride for Thanksgiving. The studio is clean. I can see someone cleaning the bikes while we are doing strength or cleaning the yoga mats before class starts. Scheduling class is super easy on an app and they open up 2 weeks out. If a class is waitlisted, still sign up for it. I have never been shut out of a waitlisted class, an opening has always freed up. Their app is also awesome because you can see progress on the bike. When I get home from class I look forward to see how I kept up with the zones that the instructor called for. I can see my improvement in my “sweet spot” for riding. I also see improvement in my daily life as I do yard work or work 12 hours as a nurse. I’m stronger, my back doesn’t hurt as much, I have better stamina. That’s what it’s all about for me, improving my physical and mental well being.
