Best kept secret on Bancroft. Our neighborhood considers it to be our own little country club. The pool is sparkling and heated never crowded with attentive life guards. There is a small concession stand and everyone has a wonderful time.

I absolutely love it over here. Out of any facility I've been to, they have the most friendliest staff ever. I made new friendships, older people, absolutely wonderful. I go to PT link therapy 3 days a week, in the pool, absolutely fabulous! They have an inside pool, and a outdoor pool, they have a beautiful workout center, the facility is clean, and updated, wonderful classes with wonderful instructors. Why the one I placed out this place is amazing!

I recently had a full tour of this facility. It is clean, offers indoor(heated) pool, outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, water aerobics, personal trainers and many options for equipment. It was not bustling with noise as it mostly caters to older people and some kids who for the most part are grandkids. It's a family based environment with guest passes. It's very inexpensive for only $42.09 a month after signing up for a year membership. There are other plans as well. I really am amazed at how much they offer for the price. I'm looking forward to going. The personal trainer is Chelsea who gave me the tour. Very positive, friendly and no judgement felt at this gym.

The staff here is unbelievably helpful and friendly. They always greet me with a smile and make sure I can find everything I need. The indoor/outdoor pool set up is great for people like me with a bad back and a need for a pool year round. I did have to watch the aquatics schedules in the winter, but it was fairly easy for me to work around those times.

I absolutely love St. James! So much so that after being involved in the club when I was a kid on swim team that now I work as a front desk worker :). The atmosphere is very friendly and there are a lot of resources available like indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpool, saunas, steam rooms, locker rooms, workout floor, and a variety of classes. Even when I'm not working the front desk, I spend tons of time at the club exercising or enjoying the pool. St. James is the place to be!

I had written this review 3 years ago and re reading it now makes me sad. My experience then is vastly different than my experience now.When my membership expires I will probably be looking for somewhere different.
The other women that use to attend my class for the majority are no longer there. Partially due to COVID but since have moved to different facilities.
The area leading to the Womens Locker Room is usually not clean.
The Sauna in the womens Locker room has been out of order for months.
The support Bar to the whirl pool was broken now fixed but still does not feel secure.
As an older person I have felt disrespected by some of the staff. In particular Ashley.
The office manager with whom I have had a cordial relationship on occasion has seemed confrontational. Certainly has in no way given me the impression that my membership matters.
I had encouraged my Son and his family including 4 children to become members. They have moved to another club this summer.
My daughter-in-law stated that one of the swim instructors Laura had been quite nasty with her.
It is this person Laura who I have found to be unhelpful and not very nice.
Since an owner Mike died it has seemed there has been an attitude change in the staff.
When checking in quite often the person at the desk doesn’t even greet you.

Went to the club as a guest and really enjoyed their workout area, they have a good selection of equipment. This club has a comfortable environment, Mackenzie who works the front desk is really helpful and knowledgeable. Greg who is one of the trainers, was very helpful and informative. I didn't even get in the door. I called and whomever the male was that answered the phone sounded very disinterested. I tried to ask questions to get a feel of what they offered and his response was, "Well you will have to come in and talk to a Manager." If you can't sound interested in your job and welcoming on the phone, why would I want to come in and see your facility.

We go there often in summer because of heated pool and swim team for kids. It is not as crawded as other pools. Indoor pool ok also. We dont use gym and they barelly have anything for kids off season, but pool is a fave.

Signed up recently, staff was overall very friendly. The older gentleman behind the counter was going on a political rant Fox News melt down. Felt a little too comfortable expressing his political views while on the clock. I asked the Tour guy if they had basketball and he said no we don't want the sheriff down here. Take that for what you will.

Have been a member for 10 years. I've seen a steady decline in cleanliness. The equipment is old and repairs are not done in a timely manner. The instructors are great and dedicated. I especially enjoy water and yoga classes.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The equipment is older but works well and is fixed quickly when needed. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are well maintained. One of the few places in the Toledo area that has both an indoor and outdoor pool which makes it unique in addition to its full complement of classes for those who are physically active. Perhaps one of the nicest things about St. James is that it is a great place to make friends.

Gym needs cleaning thoroughly and I was really expecting the bathroom update to be much more than just what was done. The carpet, paint, bathroom stalls could all used an update. This is close to home so convenient and the summer pool will be nice. Otherwise the equipment is outdated and dirty and I do not and would not want to use this as my primary gym

Excellent family oriented facility. Friendly members and staff. Though I live in the area, I had never been in the St. James Club. I was a member at Bally for 28 years...made the long trip there and had to find a new place when it went downhill. St. James is one of the few clubs in the area at which you can work out, swim and use a whirlpool. Many of the other health clubs have limited or no whirlpools or swimming. The pools are great for health and for socializing. I really enjoy it here.
