Joe truly cares about your goals and journey from the moment you come in. I had some health problems that made me hesitant to pursue my fitness goal, and that’s when I found Joe. He’s such a knowledgeable, caring, and fun person to work with! The workouts are customized to your needs, and I can always communicate with him to adjust the level of the challenge depending on the day. I can tell the progress in my strength/goals as I train, and we build it up over time. I love his holistic approach to training, and I feel great physically and mentally.

Joe is a life changer, he takes you as you are and builds a program around your needs and goals. When you show up for workouts, each workout is challenging but you are never pushed beyond what you are capable of. Starting out with a trainer was nerve-wracking as I thought it would be the typical grueling process where you are given a list of workouts to do and you are expected to finish no matter what because that's all I've ever experienced. Joe's approach to fitness redefined my perspective on what it meant to live an active lifestyle.
He focuses on proper technique, taking adequate rest periods, and building a strong foundation which minimizes risk of injury and maximizes fat loss/muscle gain. Then, he guides you through the bigger/heavier lifts which are the keys to reaching your fitness goals.
Under Joe's guidance I've lost just shy of 100 lbs and have gone from someone who struggles with weight management to being a regular gym-goer for over 2 years now.

Joe Policastro is everything you could want in a trainer. I struggled for years and had pretty much given up on lifting. I couldn’t squat even the lightest of weight without pain. I finally sought out a trainer after years of injury and stagnation, and Joe delivered. He assessed my form and built me back from the ground up. I can now squat, deadlift, and bench more than I could throughout high school and college. I used to hate lifting, and now it’s a hobby. He was always kind, respectful, and flexible. I couldn’t be more grateful for his attention, guidance, and commitment to helping me meet my goals. I've been training with Joe for about a year total now. I love coming to the gym and being pushed to be stronger. Joe is awesome and is always great at explaining how to do the exercises properly. He is very encouraging and supportive. As a woman, I find this gym to be very welcoming and friendly. Joe Policastro was my personal trainer for the summer and he was great! When I first started training with him, I knew nothing about weight lifting, but it was my goal to be able to understand what exercises I feel comfortable doing and learn about what the right weight limits for myself are. I also wanted to continue running (I have been a runner all my life), so it was important to find a balance between strength training and cardio so that I didn't feel overworked. I can genuinely say that Joe helped me reach these goals in just the few short months I was able to train with with him before heading back to college. He worked with me to assess what I wanted to achieve out of our training sessions, was flexible with timing if I ever needed to reschedule due to work, and I left feeling more confident to go and workout by myself at the gym. I suffer with a lot of back pain and knew that I needed to make a change to help improve my quality of life. I reached out to StrongFit and was contacted by Joe Policastro the following day. We went over all the details and history of my pain and scheduled an assessment. After the assessment I decided to join and within the 5 months of training with Joe on a bi-weekly basis I saw so much improvement. We worked on overall strength training, especially in my core, arms, and back. He also assisted with spinal decompression stretches that relieved a lot of pain in my back and hips. My muscles are toned, my back pain has improved, and I am stronger than I have ever been all thanks to Joe and his impeccable knowledge of fitness and health. I can’t thank him enough!

I absolutely loved my experience here. Joe and Ron were amazing trainers, although just looking around the gym everyone seemed amazing. All workouts were personalized for me and my goals/needs and I definitely made progress that I could both see and feel in my strength building, and I was able to take what I learned with them and use it in my solo workout time and have gained confidence to continue my fitness journey.

I started training at StrongFit in May of this year with several goals to achieve. To feel better physically and mentally, gain self confidence and confidence within the gym, improve my midsection, and to have overall better definition. I came to Joe with a last minute, but urgent, request. I needed to lose a significant amount of weight within a short time frame for a military requirement/standard. Both personal trainers, Joe and Ron, devised an exercise and nutrition plan and we executed on all fronts. Not even 2 weeks in and I’ve already dropped 12 pounds in addition to improving endurance and strength. Don’t get me wrong, Joe and Ron will not do the work for you! You have to be willing to put in the hard work to have the results you want. The care the Trainers have for you here at this gym, their attention to detail, and the engaging but no nonsense environment they have cultivated is exactly what I needed. Joe Policastro has been my strength coach for the last 9 months. He is one of the best coaches. He is very good with clients and understands the body kinetics very well. When I started, I had pains in my knees, shoulders etc. He helped me to strengthen these muscles around these joints by helping me with therapeutic exercises. After being with Joe, I started doing deadlifts, back squats, and bench press every week. This was my first experience with any of these strength exercises and I stayed away from any injuries due to his coaching and his strong emphasis on warmup exercises and stretches. I lost 20lbs and gained muscle. I strongly recommend Joe as a coach to anyone.

Joe at StrongFit is a great personal trainer. He's really knowledgeable, builds a plan for specific fitness goals, and provides great balance between meeting you where you're at and motivating you to push yourself hard over time. A little over a year ago, I consulted with Joe Policastro to help me overhaul my health and fitness. I had struggled for years to implement a work and food regimen that worked, so I looked for professional help. I am very grateful to have found Joe as he has been instrumental in my transformation to a healthier, stronger, and happier person. He takes a thorough approach to setting goals that meet my needs, as well as keeping me motivated and focused to improve myself everyday.
I consulted Joe at the height of my unhealthiness at 5'10", 285lbs. I was developing chronic back pain from being so overweight. At the time, I was very unmotivated to improve the situation as everything I personally tried didn't work. Be it diets or exercise, I needed help. Joe started by giving me a great foundation in physical training exercises that where challenging but well within my capabilities. He also provided a reasonable diet to help me reduce calorie intake, that wasn't a ridiculous restriction to food. In 3 months I dropped 54lbs and shredded 9% body fat.
As I gained more confidence lost more weight, Joe worked to develop good core strength and endurance, eventually implementing more weight training and lifting exercises. He taught me the movements and correct form to exercises I never thought I could ever achieve! Now I have the confidence to correctly perform these movements on my own (squats, bench press, deadlifts, etc.), and understand how to push myself safely. And when things are not feeling right, he is very quick to intervene and modify a workout, avoiding any chance of being uncomfortable or injured.
After a year of training, I have now lost 100lbs and 17% body fat (See Pics Below). I feel better than ever and have never been as motivated to continue this journey. This is all thanks to the help from Joe Policastro. He has a true passion to see you succeed and knows how to bring out your true potential. He has always been very professional and a genuinely kind, enthusiastic, and positive person. Thank you Joe!

It's great to work out with Jake and Joe! I've been working with Jake for a while now and I've seen great results. I like the way how he switches things up with me (based on how I'm responding to the exercises) by not making me do the same exercises repeatedly.
Also, considering my job I'm very fluctuating with my schedule and Jake has been very kind and helpful (even where days I'm late) in working that out with me.

I’ve been going to Strong Fit since July 2018, and so far, my experience has been great. The way this place works is that you pick the number of days per week you want to come in and a goal that you want to achieve, and each day your trainer will give you a personalized workout that shows up on your phone. Each trainer manages a handful of people, which makes it more affordable than a one-on-one session. However, they stagger the appointments so there are never more than a couple people per trainer at a time (at least in the mornings), and they do a really good job of having people use different equipment so you’re never waiting for something to open up. Although there is not someone standing over your shoulder 100% of the time, your trainer will check in and give you pointers, spot you during heavy lifts, and answer any questions you might have. For me, it’s the perfect balance between a low-key gym membership and having a personal trainer. My favorite part is that I don’t even have to think about my workouts – I just show up and do what’s on my phone – it’s always different and changes as I improve.
I’ve worked with both Joe and Jake at Strong Fit, and both trainers have been great. On Day 1, I hadn’t worked out in years and I almost passed out during my assessment! Jake eased me back into exercise with a program to build my endurance and cardio strength. Due to a scheduling conflict, I am now working with Joe, who has helped me with my next goal of getting familiar with barbell exercises such as squats, deadlifts and bench press. Before, I was afraid that I might hurt myself with bad technique, but now I am totally comfortable doing these on my own even at home between sessions. If you’re looking for a customized, long-term workout program in a low-key and friendly environment, I’d definitely recommend talking to Joe and Jake at Strong Fit.

Joe had recruited me to come join Strongfit, however, I worked with Jake. With their expertise, we were able to target different goals as we trained. Originally we targeted weight loss and I have seen amazing results. Now we are targeting muscle gain, and likewise its been working. I've worked with a few personal trainers but only with Joe and Jake have I learned how to actually do things on my own. Prior trainers would do everything for me -- set the weight, adjust the machine, etc. -- and when I was in the gym by myself I was completely lost. Joe and Jake ably demonstrate what you need to do and how you should do it and then leave you to it. That's not to say they are inattentive; quite the opposite -- kind of like proud parents carefully watching from the sidelines! I finally feel like I can walk into any gym and know what I am doing. As a girl in the gym I often get asked, "Can I help with that?" and I can now respond with confidence, "I'm good, thanks."
Another thing I appreciate is that Joe and Jake take the time to introduce you to other clients, offering the opportunity to get to know the other folks you see on a near daily basis. There's a sense of community I haven't found elsewhere.

I've been at StrongFit for almost a year now, and it has been a really great experience. I had done some personal training in the past and tested out other gyms and none can compare to working with Joe and Jake at StrongFit. Before I even started Joe took the time to meet with me about what I was looking for and what I was hoping to get out of my training. I appreciated that he took the time to listen to my goals but also to my fears about personal training. Personal training can seem really intimidating but Joe and Jake have always made me feel confident and comfortable in my workouts. They're both so encouraging and are clearly experts in what they do. I have been working with Joe since July 2014. When I first started with Joe, I had picked up running a few years prior but wanted to get back to strength training and just didn't know where to start. I had some home gym equipment and would follow videos or monthly schedules found online, but nothing ever stuck or seemed to have much of an impact so I sought out for some assistance. Right from the initial consult, I felt very comfortable with him and could tell that he had my best interest in mind. I started out at twice a week with him for a few months and made great progress but had to decrease to once a month for the next year or so.
In July 2016, I hurt my back - I did have a previous back injury but this was new and quite worse, a torn disc. Instead of cancelling my sessions, Joe worked with me in conjunction with my chiropractor and helped me gain strength in my core and back to aid in my recovery. Now, I can't say it was a quick process but in this case, slow and steady wins the race and now I feel I am stronger than I was before the injury.
Fast forward some and for the past year and a half, I have been working with Joe three days a week and have made great strides. Getting stronger not only feels good but it makes normal, everyday functions easier - unloading groceries, pulling out decoration totes, moving furniture, any kind of housework, you name it. I highly recommend Joe and then entire StrongFit team - they are an absolute pleasure to work with and whatever your goals are, they will help you meet them.

Joe and Jake are down to earth guys that are always there to help make sure you are using proper form, motivating you to keep going, and are always up for a good laugh. I have been training with Jake since May 2018. Having not worked out in many years, I set out to find a place where I could get help and still see results quickly. StrongFit has been the perfect fit for me. I've been going there for just over four months now, and I can honestly say this is the best I felt and looked in a long time. Joe takes time to explain what and why we are doing what we do. This is very important to me, and it should be to you. Anyone can tell you lift this or push that, but understanding why makes all the difference in staying motivated and seeing the big picture.

Good concept.. execution though is not for me. Gym is not open for use outside of your meetings, and for me, that's too much to pay per month, if you're not getting access otherwise. Other reasons with the owner that I won't get into here, because it's all subjective if you mesh with someone or not. It is clean and looks nice though, so there's that.

Its been really fun working out with Joe. He listens to you and tailors the workouts accordingly. I had tried running, home gym, yoga but I always give up because I don't see results or I am not motivated. Joe has helped me stay motivated and is very knowledgeable. I was doing weight lifting on my own looking at random Youtube videos, I reached a point where I wasn't able to look beyond a certain set of exercises and I reached a plateau.
I came to Strongfit to help me reach my goals. Joe has been an incredible coach and trainer, he understands the body movements and helps you fix your form. Before him things like compound movements, proper form, tempo of the workout were all alien words to me. His workout plan hits you in every part of the body and I never knew I could do such things that used to scare me. Never did I feel a 3 pound dumbbell could be so heavy and later 20 pound will feel like nothing, Joe is really a magician.

I'm a working mom with two kids (4 & 2), and after having babies, I developed all kinds of problems . . . I was underweight, had pre-diabetes, was getting back spasms, and was generally tired and run down. My doctor offered me two options: start medication for diabetes, or do something radical. She suggested weight training.
Enter Anne. I've been training w/ Anne for about 7 months, twice a week. I went in with two goals: 1) Gain 10 pounds, 2) get my fasting blood sugar to normal levels. It only took about 8 weeks for me to get there . . . kind of amazing, right? But in addition to these things, I have had all kinds of other great improvements: my posture is better (people comment on it all the time), I have tons more energy (and drink less coffee), no more back problems, my balance and coordination is better. Oh? And bonus? BIKINIS. I went in to this for health and not aesthetics, but it sure is awesome to have visible abs after two babies and two csections. I look better than I did when I was 19!!!!!
I've always been a pretty active person, but I've never had these kinds of results so fast. The secret weapon is Anne. She is an amazing trainer. Anne has spent a lot of time working with me on the mechanics, rather than emphasizing weight or reps. She wants to make sure that I do things correctly, and really emphasizes the progression, instead of the max. I think it's also extra helpful to train with a woman, because . . . well, she's a woman. Anne has spent a lot of time working with me on building core strength and proper alignment. Those basics make such a big difference in everything else. She's smart, highly educated, and goes to workshops/trainings so that she can continue learning. I basically think everyone in the world should know Anne!!!!
Other things to know about StrongFit, more generally: Location is fantastic. Facilities are good. The environment is friendly and approachable. I go in the mornings, and the other morning trainers (Luke & Steve), as well as the regulars are all awesome people. Friendly, but not cliquey. No smarmy gym guys (that matters when you're a woman) - everybody is respectful and supportive. But, really, if you are a woman, you want to go there and see Anne. She's pretty much the best :)

The trainers at Strongfit were all down to Earth, accommodating, and supportive. I was given individualized workouts 3 to 5 days a week, and trainers worked around my difficult schedule. They designed my workouts to progress towards my goals of gaining muscle, losing fat, and lifting heavy, while still working to improve my chronic back pain and various injuries. Everything about Strongfit met the criteria of what I was looking for.
As an out of shape post-grad I was looking for something that fit my lifestyle and schedule and that is exactly what I got from Strongfit. Steve, Joe, and company were so encouraging and positive in my development and I enjoyed every moment. They pushed me to limits without making me feel in anyway inadequate or less than worthy of their time.
I was a member for a year and would have easily continued going had I stayed living in the area. I fully recommend this to anyone looking to get back into shape. It takes work, and it is hard, but the staff is right along the ride with you the whole way.

Came here after 4 years of trying to get in shape and not having much success. I can honestly say in 3 months I have accomplished more than I have those previous 4 years. The trainers focus on your form, nutrition, attitude, and overall wellbeing first and foremost.
There are also yoga classes and boxing classes of various skill levels. Workout and nutrition plans are customized to your goals. Monthly checkpoints on your weight, size, etc help you accurately measure your progress.
For me, this is a great, friendly place that I would recommend to anyone trying to get in shape or stay active. I look forward to every workout.

I wanted to join a gym to try and get in shape to keep up with my nieces and nephews since I would get really tired, very quickly when playing with them. Since I've been working with Steve, I've been able to keep up with my nieces and nephews, I have more energy overall, my clothes fit better, I'm more confident in myself, and I have muscle tone I've never had before. I highly recommend StrongFit if you're serious about getting in ahape

Since graduating college, I've been extremely focused on my career and advancing myself in the workplace. While I'm proud of my professional experiences, I found myself starting work early, staying late, and leaving no time in between for workouts and health.
I decided 3 months ago, I would change that and have been working out with Joe since. I could not be happier with my results and it has definetely been a decision for the best.
Joe programs workouts for me 3x a week, has me boxing 2x a week, and schedules cardio 1x a week. He's even begun programming a meal prep plan that I will start next month. He truly goes above and beyond to make sure his clients reach their physical and mental goals. Even when he's out of town, he arranges for other trainers to step in and monitor workouts. All of whom, are just as motivating and educating.
Thanks Joe and the whole team at StrongFit! I can't wait to see where the next 3 months or 3 years take me!

I started at StrongFit in November 2014, which is SO crazy (I had to look it up just now and I cannot believe that it’s been that long!) At the time, I wanted to “try” a personal trainer for a few months before my wedding. So I looked around, read a lot of reviews about different places and I truly remember thinking “Just for a few months, 4-5 tops! Too expensive!” (plus I wasn’t particularly excited about working out )… Joe reached out and seemed the most genuine so I went with it.
I hadn’t been pushed physically since High School so I was nervous but I LOVED it. I saw results I didn’t know I could. I lost 18 pounds for my wedding the following June (I don’t even think Joe knows that because I didn’t do an eval right before,), around 2% body fat and, most importantly, felt AMAZING!! To top it off, I actually looked forward to going!... well, as much as us normal people can look forward to the gym lol
I totally surprised myself and decided to spend the money to continue going well after that, because I just felt so great! After a while, I started going through one of those rough patches in life that we all go through… I was insanely busy and focused on grad school, I had a lot of mental breakdowns and weird slumps & started going to the gym less and less. Joe (& his team) were SO supportive the entire time. They encouraged me but didn’t push too much, reached out when they didn’t have to, and truly made me feel like they care about me and were there for me. I finally just took like a 6 month break to focus on school, because I knew I wasn’t committed and was wasting my money and their time.
I graduated in December and started back in January and I feel like I never left! (except I’ve got a lot of work to do to get back to where I was!! Haha) It’s just such a great, positive environment, and I KNOW I’m going to see results because I’ve already lived it!
If you’re considering a personal trainer, I promise you the pros outweigh the cons… at least in my experience :)

I love this gym and hate working out! The personal trainers are very experienced, caring, and keep you motivated to reach goals. The boxing and yoga classes are fun and make you want to work out. I highly recommend and am so very greatful for a gym as unique as this one.

I have been working out at StrongFit for about a month as of today. I came into this very out of shape and overweight with a low self-esteem. I started working out with Patrick everyday to change that and I wanted to be in the best shape I could be for my wedding and honeymoon this summer. Patrick immediately demonstrated his knowledge for personal training in our first session. We started out with so many unique exercises and so much focus on adapting my body to a life of fitness that I knew this was not only a great program for me, but for anyone looking to hit their fitness goals. When you find yourself on the fence about personal training, I strongly urge you to spend one week working out with a trainer from StrongFit. Patrick is changing the way I define the word "exercise." With so many stability, strength, and bodyweight exercises I am already noticing the difference in just four weeks. He will start you out with a program that is not overwhelming nor is it too easy. I am challenged everyday to be better than the previous workout and love it[. When you pair yourself with a personal trainer from StrongFit they not only work with you in the gym but they will design personal diet plans that are meant specifically for you and make it very simple to follow without being hungry. I've been training at StrongFit for 12 months now and would recommend it to EVERYONE. The trainers take a personal interest in your success and modify each workout to your individual goals and needs. If you are ready to feel amazing and be held accountable for achieving results - this is your place. In just a years time, training 2-3 days a week, I have been able to lose 7% body fat and complete a 5+ minute wall sit - goals far beyond what I thought I was capable of. Luke, my trainer, accommodates my crazy travel schedule and makes time for me to squeeze in last minute work outs without complaint. I am looking forward to seeing what this next year brings :)

I have so many good things to say about StrongFit. StrongFit is not only a gym but has become a second family to me. The people there are really warm, friendly and welcoming and the same goes for the trainers. There is a vibe of belonging, encouragement, and strength that permeates the gym. I love the atmosphere and personal attention I receive! I have been training with Joe, the owner, for over 6 months now at the gym and can’t say enough about my positive experience training with him. He has always pushed me to work harder, pin point my weaknesses and create a program that fits me as an individual. He is very experienced, personable, professional and knowledgeable in what he does. He explains the science behind the exercises he chooses for you. What sets him apart is that he truly cares and listens to you. He pours his heart and soul into coaching and his business as a whole. He cares about each person he works with and treats them like he would his only family. I can go on and on but the most important thing is that I go home feeling happy and healthy every time! I also love the group boxing classes. They are really a fun cardio alternative and I look forward to them every week. They are an amazing stress relief! Overall, my experience at StrongFit has been a very positive one and I would recommend it to anyone!! I highly recommend StrongFit!
