I am passionate about fitness, nutrition, and working with people of all ages, body types, and learning styles. My background is in public education and I have worked with all ages from PK-12 to adults for over 10 years. I love teaching people new skills to help them better themselves and watch them grow to become passionate about bettering others as well. Nutrition is a key focus of my fitness and health coaching that I do with clients whether it’s in-person or online. I teach your how to track your macros but also develop a healthier relationship with food overall.
Improving your health is a lifelong process but I can gaurantee you once you start, you won't want to stop! I look forward to working with you and getting to know you!

I knew I needed a personal trainer to hold me accountable if I wanted to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I fully prepared myself for this experience to feel like every other workout and diet I’ve tried, a chore. What I did not expect was to actually enjoy eating my meals and to find myself looking forward to my workout sessions.

I really enjoy working with Tara! She does a great job of pushing (i.e., encouraging) me but making sure I’m working out safely. She assesses each client’s goals and current fitness level and creates workouts specific to them. I’m in my 50s, FYI.
I’ve learned many new workouts and much about proper form. I’ve also learned a lot about nutrition. I had misconceptions about what/when to eat. Tara has given me macro goals to hit each day and has shared recipes to help me. I feel stronger and better informed after 2 months working with her.

I've been working out with Tara for over 2 years now. Tara has great energy - enough to keep pushing me, but not too much to overwhelm! As a lower energy person, I don't think I could handle someone who is constantly bouncing off the walls and too pushy! I think one of the best things about Tara is that she can be like that for people who need or want that, but you can see that she adjusts her motivation style to whomever she's with and also how they're feeling that appointment. Over the last year, I've gone through some things that made me learn I need to be more gentle with myself and Tara can sense that in people and knows when I need her to be more gentle one day and push hard a different day, which is invaluable for this to be a sustainable relationship for me and sustainable healthy habit. She's also very caring about her clients, both inside and outside the gym, and helps with nutrition as well. Tara helped me get over the psychological barrier of adding more calories after a long time with restrictive dieting and I'm noticeably gaining muscle and strength. I make way too many people feel my biceps now. Tara is also very conscious of past injuries or weak areas and takes safety seriously since it's not worth getting an injury and being out for the count for who knows how long. The training location is very convenient to the east side (Oakley, Madisonville, etc.), which is great. For my goals, slow and steady wins the race, and I know after each year with Tara, I'll be in a better place.

Tara is great about discussing and setting attainable goals, keeping everyone’s individual strengths and weaknesses in mind, and changing up the rhythm of the workouts. I've been working with Tara for about 2 years and I feel great. When I started, I was recovering from a very painful back injury that I thought would severely limit my physical abilities. Tara helped me make a full recovery, I never had to see a doctor, chiropractor, or a physical therapist. She is always aware of my back and focuses in on form during technical or new exercises, providing customized workouts to strengthen these areas. I used to get frequent back aches, even before my injury, but since starting with Tara they've vanished. For years I've always considered myself someone who has to work very hard for small amounts of gains, being near 40, I didn't think this would change much. Working with Tara, all my friends and family mentioned the changes they've noticed in my arms, shoulders, and chest. Tara helped me understand the importance of mind/muscle connections, time and tension, and isolation. Tara also helps with nutrition advice, giving me guidelines for macros and suggesting recipes that my kid would like too. It's her knowledge and experience that has made the difference, no question about it. I've recommended Tara to friends of mine and they've seen success as well. I consider Tara my fountain of youth, I've never felt as good as I feel today.

Tara is probably one of the most versatile personal trainers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only does she work to help her clients met their personal fitness goals, she consistently works on her own personal fitness goals. Therefore, sessions are never boring and never the same. You’re learning new things at your sessions and she’s teaching herself new things during her own personal workouts.
She is all about her clients, meaning if you aren’t comfortable with doing something she’s not going to judge, shame, or rag on you. She will adjust to what you are comfortable with, fitness wise. She is extremely flexible and understanding within reason when “LIFE,” happens and you have to reschedule or cancel. She’s personable, always asks how her clients are and takes an interest with what they’re willing to share. She’s respectful of all lifestyles and offers a judgement free zone.
She encourages and helps lessen any insecurities a new client might have when stepping into what can be an intimidating environment, especially if you’re new to strength training.
She’s also an exceptional nutritionist, and can help clients learn how to count macros for the best results they’re looking for. She’ll do measurements as well, if that’s something that you want to keep track of in regards to progress. She will also share her own meals she’s made to add variety, which helps with the consistency of tracking macros, no one wants to eat the same thing all the time while training right?
I don’t say this about very many people but the respect and admiration I have for Tara is the reason why she’s easily one of the top personal trainers in Ohio. She has that affect on people, so if you’re looking to start training to be a badass she’s your go to.
