This gym has knowledgeable and well intentioned staff, with curated work out plans for any and every goal.

Whether you're a complete beginner or professional, there is something for you here.

The atmosphere is laid back and everyone is extremely welcoming.

The staff frequently make the rounds assisting members with lifts, checking up on diet/goals, and asking whats up with life.

you definitely get what you pay for, and the staff has made working out at a joy. I wish I would have started coming here sooner.

The gym I would choose:

To give perspective: I've traveled all over the US, been training for almost 20 years, hold multiple records, have competed on a national level in more than one sport.

I've been to gyms in Dallas, almost all in Phoenix, all over LA, San Diego, New Mexico, parts of Denver, Chicago, and this is the gym I would choose.

Is it for everyone? Anyone who enjoys lifting, growing muscle, Olympic Powerlifting, Powerlifting, and Strongman. (Do not limit it to just those sports as that is not at all doing the place justice, nor does that give sufficient credit to what would make someone good in those sports do for someone not in them)

The knowledge of the staff is vast and they are good people who do want you to succeed.

I really enjoyed Dayton, the Air Force Museum, Wright Brothers history, the lush vegetation, rain, temperature, and food... but this gym is pretty damn awesome. I look forward to seeing it and the people within it develop even further.

Should be listed as one of the attractions along with the USAF museum. Awesome facility, awesome people. Casey was a pleasure to deal with. I regret not spending more time in Dayton with a facility like this at my disposal!

I came to Dayton for 2 months as part of a surgical residency rotation and needed to find a gym to continue olympic weightlifting training. I stopped by the Dirty Gym on a whim and met Marcus and Casey and was welcomed to their gym crew. I quickly found the Dirty Gym was an incredible training environment, both Casey and Marcus have helped me improve my lifting technique and teach me the fundamentals of weightlifting as a sport. For visitors as well as locals, this gym has everything going for it regarding training equipment, coaching, nutritional support, and what an athlete needs to succeed in the sport. I look forward to maintaining the friendships I have built during my short time in Dayton, and continuing to progress in weightlifting with the help of coach Marcus and Casey. I look forward to coming back to visit in the future.

As a regular traveler and always trying to maintain my lifts, I have found the location I'll frequent when in Dayton. The Dirty Gym has great/respectful staff and the equipment is top-tier from the big ones (i.e., Rogue) to the boutique (Elite FTS). Plenty of racks and they open extremely early for us folks trying to get the lift in before getting back on another flight. Highly recommend if you're in for even just a day.

This is one of the best powerlifting gyms I've trained at. The staff is awesome and receptive, constantly trying to improve the gym. Members are friendly and super helpful. I've been a member for 3 years and am now being trained by the coaches. I recommend it here for all powerlifters and strongmen and really any athlete.

Gyms like this one are hard to find. There’s equipment for all types of training, whether you’re a power lifter, strongman, bodybuilder, athlete, or just trying to stay in shape. There’s never been a rush where I have to wait to do the exercise I want. The owner Marcus and the rest of the staff are super friendly and want to see you kill every workout. They offer cheap but effective training programs, and personal training options. As an added bonus, it’s tucked away in the art district of Dayton so it has a unique atmosphere.

Been training here for awhile and it is the best spot I’ve been to in the Dayton area to train. Amazing equipment, everybody who works out here actually seems to have some purpose for why they are there and the owners are constantly improving equipment. Everybody I’ve interacted with that works here and works out here have been nice folks and it’s never too busy to be able to get a rack/equipment you need

I've been training here a number of years. I've been around the block and seen a few gyms in my day. These guys are constantly putting back into the gym and evolving as necessary to offer classes and structure people desire. Give these guys a shot at any level of training and if you are willing to put in the work, you will progress.

The place looks like it’s gonna fall apart how is this even allowed? The gym staff is super rude. It’s like as soon as you walk in you’re immediately being sized up. You don’t feel apart of the gym it feels like they feel threatened by you.

I've met 4 different members who go to this gym, each one of these women have been very rude and have had no respect for others' property. I'd love to check out the gym if it weren't for the fact that I already know the kind of people I'd be surrounded by.

EDIT: The owner reached out and seems to care about the situation. We'll see what happens and if the problem gets resolved, but if I had to guess I'd say he's had no idea his members are using his gym's name right before they do something dishonest.

Met and exceeded my expectations. I was in town for a few days from Canton and needed a place to lift for the day. Very cool place to lift, lots of equipment and motivating atmosphere. The staff were helpful and quickly showed me where things were and pointed out some rules but didn't bog me down letting me get to move some iron. I plan on being in Dayton at least a few times a year and I will be sure to return. If I lived here this is the gym I'd be in.

I have been coming here about a month now, and I have been sore for about a month now. So they are either really good trainers, or I am a realllllly bad student. Legit though, this is my first time having formal instruction in the Gym. After a long hiatus due to injury, my form had become garbage, and trust me, you can get surprisingly strong lifting incorrectly; however, you are still lifting like garbage. Through their instruction, my form is getting cleaned up, and I am also learning more about Olympic lifting when I primarily did powerlifting.

The thing that sold me the most is that the entire group is supportive and they collectively do push you to do better, but they are not going to push you to injure yourself, which is why I avoided submitting myself to having a trainer for a long time. There is a fine line between pain being weakness leaving the body and pain because your body is about to break. Thankfully, the trainers here, just by observation, can usually tell the difference and will tell you to step it up or lay off.

Also, there is on occasion puppers and doggos to pet = 5% more gains.

I was in Dayton, OH for business and was looking for a place to lift. Came across this place on google and saw the website along with photographs and reviews. I decided to go check it out being I'm a fan of the old school style gyms. The owner, Marcus (previously trained at west side barbell), was a really cool and down-to-earth guy. Not only did he let me lift there when I was in town, but gave me a few pointers on my deadlifts and squats. Very nice guy. All of the other members that were present when I was there were also very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this gym.

I have always been and avid gym rat being a division 1 athlete; the leadership, tutelage and atmosphere at the Dirty Gym (DG) is completely surpasses anywhere I have ever worked out. If you really want to see results and gains the DG is the place to be!

Felt at home as soon as I walked in! Very old school vibe with modern, quality programming! If you are looking to excel in powerlifting, weightlifting, crossfit, or strongman or if you are a high school, collegiate or semi pro athlete and need to get bigger, faster, stronger, this is where you need to be. There is no other place like it in or around the Dayton area!!
