About the Club

Rick Rick is the owner and head coach at the Energy Lab warehouse training facility in Hilliard Ohio. Rick’s training methods simultaneously improve human movement and physicality. Rick works hard with his athletes and fitness enthusiast to challenge them not only physically, but mentally as well, so they can begin to understand the incredible potential of the human body and spirit. Gaining his Bachelor of Science degree as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from Marietta College, Rick understands the importance of appropriately pushing the body to its next level.

I’ve been working out with Rick at the Lab for many years now. I’ve had some hiatus and I’ve had times when I’m in there 3times a week. Lately I’ve been able to afford just two days per week out of my busy life with work and parenting two young children. Without much time for cycling which has been a life long passion. When I do get the time to ride, I am immediately reminded of why I work out with Rick!! Recently I headed up to Cleveland for a day at Ray’s indoor Bike Park(with a bunch of younger friends!). I was able to ride as if I hadn’t missed a day on the bike!! We rode for at least three hours before breaking for food. I was then able to rally for an additional hour of riding. My stamina and control on the bike were on point! I had one of my best days at Ray’s….ever! My recovery time was minimal. No muscle burning or cramping!! Im pretty stoked to be in my Fifties, raising two young children and still be able to sneak out and get after it every now and then!! Thanks Rick!!

This is the first time working with a trainer and I’ve lucked out! Been working with Rick Rick for a year and it’s been a great decision. He is diligent about watching your progress, understanding what you can do, and when you can do more. He’s not been wrong with any directions for me (even when the voice in my head says “I’m not sure I can do that”).
If you let him work with you - trust in what he tells you, I haven’t been steered wrong yet. I love to tell him: I believe in the me, that believes in the you that believes in me. That’s some high praise when you’re working with a 53yo body!

I’ve been a loyal client for years, but what Rick has done for my 16 year old cross country runner has been impressive. He started after a frustrating, injury filled fall season, with the hopes of helping him rehab and strengthen his injury affected areas. What he’s accomplished under Rick’s coaching he far surpassed any expectations we had, as he’s more athletic than he’s ever been, in equally due to both increased strength and being taught proper technique. Finally, his enthusiasm to get to the lab after school every Tuesday and Thursday is pretty cool to see.

Rick is a great trainer! I have been coming to the Energy Lab for six months. I love to hike, XC ski and downhill ski. Both of my knees were in slight to moderate pain when I started. Today they are both almost pain free! At 67 years old, I am looking forward to a fun ski season! Rick is positive, extremely patient, technically sound, and fun to be around. I recommend The Energy Lab 100%!

I’ve ran several marathons and love running. I had lofty goals to run under a 3:30:00 marathon at the Nationwide Children’s Marathon in Columbus, OH. I reached out to Rick Rick III to help me train for the marathon and he did great, not only on helping me get faster but also learn how to prevent injuries through his training. I couldn’t reccomend Rick and the Energy Lab enough to anyone training for a marathon, Ironman or any other endurance event!

I’ve been training at energy lab fitness for about a year and I’m very happy with my experience. Rick is an excellent trainer who really tailors and scales workouts for where you are when you start. He provides personalized support and instruction. The gym is small, clean and I feel safe there. There’s a congenial group of people working out there and in the midst of it all we have a lot of fun. Rick is a professional, knowledgeable, and a gifted trainer. He is always able to pinpoint exactly what I need physically and mentally. I came to Rick while I was having a difficult time with weight gain, was mentally exhausted, and emotionally drained. I needed something to focus my attention and jump start my soul. I dragged my sister along and decided to partake in Rick’s Fat Stripper Challenge. Although a test of will power, the quick results that I saw furthered my motivation to complete the Fat Stripper. Within the first week, I felt mentally clearer and lost noticeable weight. As I continued the 28-day challenge, I continued to lose weight, feel more energized, slept better, and felt more confident overall. Throughout the challenge, Rick was there for support, available for questions and suggestions, and continued to motivate me to finish. I finished the program 18 lbs. lighter than when I started, invigorated with energy, and motivated to change my lifestyle. It has almost been a year and I have kept most of the weight off (14 lbs)! My eating habits have changed for the better. I am eating less sugar, including more vegetables in ALL meals, not craving fried foods, and satisfied with a lot less snacking (a couple chips versus the whole bag). I can confidently say that I have strengthened my self-control regarding nutrition leading to improved willpower and an overall feeling of confidence and joy. The Fat Stripper program made such a difference in my life that I would highly recommend to all that want to strengthen their will power, develop healthier long term habits, and enjoy accomplishing such a rewarding goal.

Rick really helped me with my back squat. I didn't realize that my form could get so much better. I really enjoy using kettle bells frequently and correctly. Aside from the workouts in the gym, the outdoor workouts are always something I look forward to.
