Been apart of Upgraded since the beginning at the old facility and would not workout at another gym. It could be a little intimidating seeing the combat wing of the facility and more for experienced lifters. However, DJ has made countless improvements through the year and making it a welcoming culture for all walks of life. Family friendly, no nonsense gym for people who are serious about improving their minds and bodies. Unreal facility. Whether you’re a competitive bodybuilder, athlete, MMA, casual lifter, weekend warrior, etc … UGI is perfect for everyone regardless of their goals. Some gyms sacrifice atmosphere for equipment or vice versa … but UGI has all the atmosphere/energy & quality equipment you could ever ask for. DJ has put his heart and soul into UGI and it shows. I live an hour from Mentor but I still make my way to UGI on a regular basis because there’s nothing it. You won’t find a gym owner who cares as much as DJ and again … it shows.

Upgraded Industries has something for everyone. The gym side has a lot of new equipment, barbells and dumbells, squat racks, plus treadmills and stair steppers. The other side of the gym is for people looking to hit a heavy bag or learn jiu jitsu. The atmosphere is supportive with a diverse membership. Do you have family, friends, sadists, etc. that enjoy going on those big, scary roller coasters at Cedar Point? Do they try to coerce you into going on those coasters with hills so high that you begin to question your life decisions?

All you have to do is go to Upgraded Industries and get nice and swole on all their equipment. That way, you'll have too much muscle mass for those safety bars and buckles on those scary rides to properly secure. Then the park employees will say you won't be able to ride. Plus, because you will have more muscles than Ronnie Coleman, nobody on the ride will dare laugh at you.

I truly can’t say enough good things about upgraded. From the members to the staff, this place makes sure that you’re in an amazing, comfortable place to workout. If you are looking for that something extra UGI is where it is at. From open gym floor plan to complete your own personalized hiit sessions, boxing, group HIIT, cardio, multiple FULL SQUAT cages, enough equipment for a full house of trainers, specialized events and it is always clean. If not the owner personally reaches out to members and lets them know that this behavior will not be tolerated and he holds to that premise. If you’re lookin for a real gym, look no further! Really great atmosphere in here. Staff are all great and helpful with any questions you may have about equipment (because there was definitely some machines I’ve never seen before, which was awesome) and also very kind. They knew I was new to the gym and made it a point to introduce themselves. My girl and I have only been there a month and she really likes it as well, because there isn’t…… if you’re a female and worked out at planet fitness or a similar type of gym you’ll know exactly what I’m getting at here.

If you’re worried about judgment because i said it’s a real gym, please don’t misunderstand! I’ve seen all shapes and sizes enter and just like it should be everywhere else, no one judges anyone. I do not enjoy working out consistently by myself so I am overjoyed that DJ and his staff have went totally out of their way to have made available so many choices and times for classes that can work with any schedule and workout preference. I came to know DJ from mutual aquintances and saw over time his dedication and support he was providing his clients. You tend to see a persons true colors over a period of time vs a post here and there. I saw consistency with DJ which in return intrigued my interest in professional weight training and clean eating. Anyone can tell you what to eat and exercises to do but there’s a huge difference when it comes to knowing which ones to implement and why. His own results as well as his clients speak volumes. ANY time, day or night, I’d have a question he’d respond within minutes when I text. I actually started questioning if this man ever sleeps, no joke either. He was never rude, short in response or annoyed with my million of questions I asked. I even questioned his answers he gave me from my original question and he always broke things down and/or gave me why that was the reason for answer. DJ has this awesome, passionate no BS personality. He’s tough because he cares, he’s not in it just to take your money, he genuinely cares about people. If he can help you in anyway he will and if he cant its more then undoubtedly he knows the person that can. Upgraded industries is going to be the most insane and intense gym in northeast Ohio.
