UA CrossFit is a great gym and a great community. Even my 3 year old loves coming here. I am so grateful for the coaches, who have helped me improve and modified countless workouts for me while I cope with a shoulder injury, and the members, who made me feel like part of the family immediately. You should join this gym. Great workouts every day and lots of smiles (through the pain, of course).

Okay, folks, let's talk Upper Arlington Fitness, or as I like to call it, "My Happy Place Where I Occasionally Grunt Loudly and flop in the ground in a pool of sweat and make sounds like macaroni in a pot."

First off, this gym is so clean, you could probably eat off the floor. And honestly, after some of my workouts, consuming something off the floor wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've considered.

The equipment is top-notch. I'm pretty sure they have machines here that haven't even been invented yet. I once saw a guy using something that looked like it belonged on the Starship Enterprise. I'm not sure what it did, but he looked very intense.

The staff? Super friendly. They're always there with a smile and a "Hey, you look like you're about to pass out! Need a spot?" It's that kind of caring that really makes you feel at home... you know, if your home had a bunch of sweaty people and the faint smell of victory (and maybe a little bit of old gym socks).

The classes are fantastic. If you're looking to dip a toe or jump in with both feet Upper Arlington Fitness is the place to do it. Hell - you could probably even do some zumba... Let's just say my hips don't lie, they mostly just tell the truth about my lack of coordination. But the instructors are super encouraging, knowledgable, and approachable. I almost didn't feel completely ridiculous attempting a squat. Almost.

And the members! Oh, the members. Such a diverse group. You've got the super-fit people who look like they were sculpted by Michelangelo, the "I'm just here to not die" crowd (that's me!), and everything in between. It's a judgment-free zone, unless you're wearing socks with sandals. Then, you might get a few looks.

The only downside? Sometimes when it's really cold one of the gym doors is really hard to open. But hey, think of it as a warm-up! By the time you get trough the front door, you've already burned, like, three calories.

So, if you're looking for a gym where you can get in shape, feel good, and maybe witness some truly bizarre exercise contraptions, Upper Arlington Fitness is the place for you. Just don't forget your water bottle... and maybe a towel. You'll need it.

It also never hurts that sometimes people bring their dogs in... so you can lift heavy stuff, hang out with cool people, AND pet dogs...as if you needed another reason.

I just hit 3 years and couldn’t be happier with UA fitness. The coaches and community are very inviting and encouraging no matter what your goals are. I go just to keep moving. I do push myself but I’m not breaking any records, just to be a better hiker. UA offers Complete fitness.

Upper Arlington Fitness is much more than just a gym. It's a home. Not only does this place help you get into shape, but it does so with open arms. The community here is worth the investment alone, and has changed my life for the better.
(Plus we have beers after class on Fridays. :))

Not only a great gym, but great people and ownership. Joining a new gym can be very intimidating, but from day one that I signed up, everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. I have never felt judged for not being able to do something. Coaches are knowledgeable and will encourage and push you but at the same time, will help you if you are struggling or modify movement if you are injured or aren't comfortable with a movement. It was hard finding a gym when we moved to Columbus over 2 years ago, but so happy I found my people here. If you are looking to get in shape and get new friends along the way who will encourage and push you, Upper Arlington Fitness is your place

I have both been going for 5 years now and love the people and the community that I’ve grown to know. Everyone from the coaches to the members are great to workout with. There is no judgment when you go, just encouragement to work on your personal goals.
The gym definitely recognizes personal goals and that people come from all different levels of experience. One of the biggest reasons I hear people say they don’t want to come is because they don’t feel they can do the all the movements in a workout. But that is where the coaches come in. They will take 1 on 1 attention with a member to find a movement they are comfortable with. Whether that the person feels they can’t functionally perform it, or they have an injury preventing them, the coach will walk them through different movement until the person feels comfortable with the exercise.
It’s nice also to not have to plan a workout on your own and to do it with others. It’s a bit of mini trauma bonding on some workouts lol. I much prefer that over going to a gym where I know no one and I have to fight for a machine, bench or weight, only to work out all alone.
And finally I know cost is sometimes an issue, but I see it as an accountability. If I’m paying $10-$40/month I would take “rest days”. But here, I rarely don’t go just because I don’t feel like it. It, in itself, is a motivator to get the most use out of my membership.
There are classes at times at different times of the day, and so that allows them to be small enough so you get to know the people you work out with and actually get to know them as a person.

I love UA Fit and the community we have! Going to UA Fit takes the stress out of having to create your own workout plans, and all the coaches have great recommendations and options for any modifications you may need! And the coaches and other members are so kind and supportive! It definitely makes working out fun and I’m actually excited to go to the gym!

The owners Greg, Katie, Kevin and Kristen are awesome! They’ve been in the exercise industry for a long term and are very knowledgeable when it comes to health and fitness. I’ve found UA Fit to be a very welcoming and community oriented gym. I’ve received excellent coaching throughout my time here. I’ve also made many great friends along the way. Couldn’t recommend this gym enough if you’re looking for a great culture to be around!

Fantastic gym! I've been spending most of my mornings over many years here and likely will for the foreseeable future. There's something for everyone here and a very welcoming environment. The people are great, workouts are infinitely scalable, and if you're injured or looking to increase mobility, it can happen here too. Stop in some morning and make a friend or 7.

I spent 3 years at UA fit before moving and I was so sad to leave!! The coaches are some of the best people I have ever met. The workouts are so different and engaging that you can’t get bored. The members also plan fun activities outside the gym. Honestly can’t say enough good things!

This place is awesome!! I worked out here for 8 months until I moved, this place is incredibly inviting whether you’re an avid Crossfitter or never lifted a weight before in your life. The coaches and owners are super friendly and very good at making sure you lift properly to avoid any injuries. The space itself is great too, I love the open gym concept and the outdoor space is easy to use when the workout requires some outdoor activity. On top of all that, they even have social events every now and then which is just the cherry on top to make some good connections and friends. Hands down the best gym I’ve been to, and if I didn’t move I’d still be working out there.

UA Fitness is a truly special gym! The community of members are incredibly welcoming and supportive, which regularly made CrossFit the best part of my day. The coaches are dedicated towards helping you meet your goals and growing as an athlete/individual. I am very grateful for all of their advice/cues, extra time before/after class, as well as kindness they showed every single day. I would highly suggest this gym to anyone (of any fitness level) in the Columbus area and look forward to joining again in the future when I move back/visit!

I was a member of this gym before moving out of Columbus. The people are amazing, the atmosphere is friendly, and the ramp-up sessions are genius.

I was someone who hadn't been inside of a gym for a while. The idea of starting CrossFit from a less than ideal starting point was daunting. However, the team puts you through three ramp-up sessions that expose you to the type of movements you will do, the gym set-up, and then conclude with a brief workout. These sessions helped me immensely and set me up for success.

After that, I cannot speak more highly of the people and the atmosphere that the owners have created. This gym truly is a hidden gem right in the heart of Columbus.
