We are thrilled with our experience in the swim lessons program at the YMCA at West Park. Our daughter absolutely loves attending her lessons.

All of your instructors are amazing. Specifically, both Mr. Jim and Ms. Mya worked as my daughter’s instructors, and they are excellent. We greatly appreciate the wonderful instruction they provided.

Very friendly, quiet very inviting place. Everyone is so helpful. They have an variety of things to do, like swimming lessons for only $88.00 for 8 wks. ( adult and children)
They have exercise equipment to use plus a weight room, they even have something for the older adults that's trying to stay fit or get fit. I Love this place, its not the biggest YMCA, but the people there make it feel huge.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Staff and Great Experience!
I’ve had a great experience at the YMCA. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. A special shoutout to the lady at the front deskβ€”she’s always kind and professional, and makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. It’s a great environment with positive energy. Highly recommend!

We are loving swim lessons at the west park Y! Three kids in different levels and they are all enjoying their time in the pool. More importantly they are gaining an important skill and developing a hobby that can be life long. Check out swim lessons here if you're looking for a quality affordable option.

The worst, most uncomfortable location I've ever been to. I've had several bad encounters at this location. Unfortunately this is the closet one to me other than Lakewood and you normally have to be a resident but I just paid for a year membership May 1st so pretty much a waste of $780 and when you bring things to their attention they act as if they will "handle" things but clearly after the visit from today they dont. Clearly NO consideration for the paying members and no fun for the kiddos in the pool. No consideration for children that may have a disability as far as ADHD, ANXIETY,ETC. HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

My fiancΓ© has been going to this location for years. We were not aware that they closed at four on the weekends considering we typically go to the Lakewood one and we decided to change it up since he really likes this location. We’re simply working out and four people decide to come up to him and start literally acting like we’re being rude and trying to purposely overstay and abruptly forced us out so they can go home sooner which is understandable but be professional. They weren’t even kind at first they just were rude right off the bat. Won’t be coming back.

I have really grown to love this place! They seem to be constantly updating and upgrading their equipment, have everything needed for serious strength and cardio training, and everyone who works here is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Happy to give it five stars but also love that it’s small and not too busyβ€”so don’t all come at once! :)

West park was kind enough to triage my pet into their emergency services while I corresponded with them from home due my cancer surgeries that week. It’s not an unreasonable ask given every patient’s/owner’s situation isn’t as black and white as being able to wait hours while the pet waits their turn for care or while more serious cases as they should be, are treated. While the $504 in testing and exam fees was helpful in ruling out her symptoms being related to her pre-existing cooper storage disease, we ultimately got no diagnosis or treatment for her worsening secondary symptoms - just another something that might work. I was in a very vulnerable spot having just been discharged from the hospital that day after having 13 hours of surgery that week. Doctor Mike provided poor care to my dog and in my opinion is a poor practitioner. Why? 1) She got no definitive diagnosis 2) I had to call him back to ask him to address treatment for the obvious secondary symptoms he neglected (her raw inflamed skin) caused by the initial bowel issues. 3) He didn’t even have the decency after I called back to ask about her raw skin to provide her with any topical treatment to give her relief during her exam. He did nothing but tell me what to buy. It’s clear they don’t understand the point of paying the hundreds of dollars is in exchange for your pet to actually get a diagnosis, and that your animal is supposed to get the treatments to feel better for their symptoms/ they needed after care WHILE they are at the hospital. They just expect to get paid loads for going through the motions. It’s highly unethical to take large amounts of money from people and in exchange provide such a paltry quality of care. I’ve found if you voice your warranted frustrated respectfully, they’ll do an even worse job caring for your pet because they are more concerned about being called out on the obvious holes in their operations, communication and practices then actually caring for animals. Sadly the clear reality is as they grown they’ve proven time and time again they merely expect to get paid while providing bad veterinary care. If they actually cared about your pet they would show it in the type of treatment they administer. It’s that simple. Lastly, to top it all off, I kindly asked the receptionists for two basic things while discharging when 1) if they could have the nurse put a disposable diaper on her so she didn't have an accident on the car ride home 2) For the physical copy of test results so I could review her liver values and then send the results to her specialist. Both seem like pretty obvious standard tenants of care for $500 but I knew from previous visits if I didn’t ask they wouldn’t do it. Pathetically, they followed through on neither. I’d been going there for years and unless you hold their hand, advocate for every single obvious single step along the way your pet will get crappy care. I can’t understand why they take no shame in how consistently and obviously bad they are. The ultimate disgusting reality; they still have gotten richer, have built a bigger facility that they aren’t even skilled enough operationally, administratively or medically to use to actually provide relief to the animal - WHICH is the whole point of running a veterinary hospital. The last two times I have been, both triage people have complained how bad their computer network is and were clearly frustrated in trying to execute the basics of doing their job due to the poor resources they have. The one triage person didn’t even know the email address to send medical records to after stating she’d been there for almost a month. One time i went there and my dog sat in a cage for hours because they discovered the machine to perform her surgery was broken after I brought her in. Skip this nightmare of a facility if you care about your pet and go to Tremont Animal or Rocky River animal hospital instead.

Ive been through a lot of ups and downs healthwise and the grief of losing 2 of my kids within a year. The Y keeps me focused. It keeps me moving forward. It gives me the strength I need to keep pushing forward. I am grateful I belong to the Y and especially the Westpark YMCA because of its kind, caring, helpful and wonderful staff and my AOA group. They have been updating the place here. The gym is a good size and the pool is great. Exercise room and workout room are in good shape. My daughter has been attending swim lessons with the best instructor on the freaking planet -- Jim! If you want your kids to learn how to swim in under 4 months Jim is your guy! I have put my other kids through swimming lessons costing more money with no results. They also have a program here to train them for lifeguarding if they stay with the youth/adult swim program which my oldest is looking forward to. This YMCA location is the bees knees. It's very community homebound here. Everyone is very nice! Everyone! 😁 They are very helpful and it pulls you to come here to exercise, hangout in the gym, working out in the weight room, or even taking a stroll on the treadmill while listening to your phone's playlists, is all the worth here! Just come and see what I see. Still love it!

My experience here and lakewood ymca has been horrid. First I wanna complain about sign in policy. I just started my membership and called both places to see if guest were allowed. Well first they told me yes between 5 to 6 and after 730. Which times were wierd but I continued my day. When I showed up they told me that I couldn't sign in unless it was for the weight room which was completely different from what they first said
well when my guest showed up they changed the whole ordeal that they weren't letting guest sign in. Im disappointed bc I felt profiled which is sad for a location in an urban community. On top of that I coach throughout cleveland and this is the only affordable gym it seems to be open during the pandemic. I expect more from a business that has benefited from the neighborhood and my membership that has the perk of signing people in.
