About the Club

Slow down, feel good, and be your authentic self. Created and operating on Ludlow Ave. since 2005, we are a modern yoga studio inspired by ancient wisdom. We believe the practices of yoga are for any breathing body. The only requirement for yoga practice is to breathe. You don’t have to look, dress, or be any way but yourself. This is your practice, your choice, your consent. You are invited to come as you are, allow for pause, and be open to change. All are welcome and this is what we mean when we say we offer, β€œYOGA FOR PEOPLE WHO BREATHE.” Plug into community and join us on and off the mat! The practices of yoga have the ability to uplift your life through movement, mindfulness, and meditation.

World Peace Yoga is an exceptional yoga studio. The skilled teachers offer a unique experience with poses and especially the breathwork, which all enhance the practice. The principles found here are something we can embrace and carry with us after practice.

WPY and their wonderfully diverse teachers have helped my healing of atrophied bodily wounds that over 22 years physical therapy was not able to do. The integration of mindful breathing in each class has been instrumental in my capacity to face and create peace with the emotional trauma I have experienced.

The outreach to community in offering multiple ways to participate is inspirational; from yoga at the park across the street from the studio, online classes, benevolence fund to ensure those that need financial assistance to participate can and a festival at the park in the late spring to share knowledge of the many limbs of the yoga practice.

Taking the Yoga Teacher Training has been a large commitment for myself and growth in healing. The eight limbs of yoga discipline are replicated in the secular society as the foundations to positive mental health. Being I product of cultural values I had not been exposed to many of the foundational needs to build my character and stay strong in my core being. This training offers so much in awareness of ourselves, others and our relations to this realm of existence. I most truly recommend this course, even if not intending to be a formal teacher such as myself.
I would rate this a 10 but the studio has a bit of water damage that hopefully will be corrected soon.

I have practiced at World Peace Yoga (WPY) for over 17 years with a class regularly guided at WPY for 11+ of these years and immersed myself into the learnings for Foundational WPY Teacher Training (YTT) and WPY Advanced Teacher Training (ATT) certification. These days I enjoy guiding those in WP YTT and ATT study along their path to certification as well as the WPY weekly classes. Thank you World Peace Yoga for bringing my life full circle!

This studio is not for the people who is looking for just superficial fiscal betterment. While you will learn/experience a proper yoga class, you will be shown the deep transformational power of the ancients practice of yoga. It's a holistic experience at World Peace Yoga. Needless to say I'm a fan.

My home studio for 10+ years! I came for the physical practice but stayed for the holistic benefits of learning how to calm and regulate my body.

I just finished the Foundational Teacher Training and found it to be both fulfilling and flexible in terms of completing the online coursework :) I truly feel like doing the teacher training program in tandem with taking classes with excellent cues and welcoming teachers has prepared me for the next steps in my own yoga journey.

World Peace Yoga is the perfect place to begin your yoga journey, or to continue your existing practice. The Peace House is professionally run, but the atmosphere is comfortable, and the environment embracing. Even taking a class online is wonderful. I cannot recommend this studio highly enough

My time at World Peace Yoga, was transformative. The special energy of Rishikesh can’t be described, it must be experienced. The teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Guru Vishnu, shares his knowledge, openly and sincerely. I am a better human for having attended world peace yoga ❀️. Everything from pranayama, meditation, and yoga asanas were great.

This place is wonderful if you are more interested in slow meditative yoga or have any conditions that prevent you from being able to handle rough workouts. I used to attend a different yoga studio that was more β€œhardcore” and it was far too much on my body and caused me pain. I’m really digging the relaxing and slow pace of this studio. I do wish they checked/corrected posture more frequently but other than that it is great; very friendly and welcoming.

Also I have to laugh at the most recent review 🀣 Brian, I can promise you there is no β€œdevil worship” happening in here. Goodness.

I’ve been coming to world peace for about 4 years now, and I learn something new in every class. This spiritual and safe space is simply too special to me, and has helped me through many tough times. The community is unwavering, and I simply love it here!

Last year I also took the leap to do yoga teacher training, and it was so fulfilling and rewarding. I wish I could do it all over again! I recommend taking the year long program rather than 6 month :) (I took the 6 month program and still ended up using about 12 months to compete my certification)

I love all of the teachers at WPY, but I always recommend Mary’s class for all levels, and personally love a good yin class with Patrick.

World Peace Yoga has an amazing ability to make you feel like you've always been part of the community. The asana sessions are empowering, relaxing, and engaging. The teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and generous with helping everyone to develop their own personal practice. I have learned so much beyond the poses discussing and practicing the philosophy, nutrition with a focus on veganism, meditation and breath work, and mental health and the physiological connection to it.

World Peace Yoga holds a special place in my heart and stands out from the rest for many reasons:

1. A Catalyst for Learning & Growing:

I found my most integrated yoga practice at World Peace - offering introductions and advanced options of all kinds of yoga. Whatever your body is feeling/needing or you are interested in learning more about, you bet there's a class or workshop on the schedule for just that. Including a donation-based, community class making yoga accessible to all...

For the information hungry folks, World Peace becomes a mecca for learning by offering multitude of workshops available to the public focused on niche topics (like specific anatomical conversations, understanding reiki and more) that I have always left with impactful takeaways from.

Teachers are happy to speak with you further (either during or after the workshop) about questions, thoughts or experiences you have and ignite a feeling of being heard amid your journey. Teachers at WPY have an authentic, wholesome and integrated connection to yoga - you can feel it as soon as you walk into the beautiful, peaceful and sacred studio.

2. A Sense of Community:

World Peace cultivates an inspiring, healing and friendly community of like-minded people that you will be happy to meet and befriend. This is a supportive community of mindful beings along similar journeys of yoga, non-harming/vegan philosophy, meditation and interpersonal connection who inspire each other with conscious, intentional regard for the world.

Monthly community dinners hold an open-hearted space with others ready to mutually support each other in expanding, growing and connecting to others along the way.

3. Spirited Yoga Teacher Trainings:

I have never felt more at home and at center than I felt amid the spirited, advanced teacher training at WPY. With connection not only to physical, I gained a well-rounded sense of what yoga truly encompasses - including philosophical, spiritual, emotional, moral and communal aspects of yoga. Be ready to grow. ❀️

I think you get the idea. πŸ™‚

World Peace Yoga is a wonderful yoga studio!!
The instructors are warm, welcoming, incredibly helpful and professional.
The studio has skylights opened wide when weather permits. Classes are enhanced by opening and closing meditations accompanied by an ancient, soothing instrument called a harmonium.
I attend Mindy Wise’s Yoga Basics classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings. She is a gifted instructor. She greets each participant as they enter. She imparts yoga wisdom, encourages us to listen to our bodies and carefully instructs us in the various poses. We end our practice with savasana and a short meditation. This restful period is accompanied by soft music and a mini lavender lotion head massage, if desired.
There is usually a collective sigh and smiles as we slowly rise to leave. We leave deeply relaxed, stronger and more peaceful and compassionate towards ourselves and others.

My first experience with World Peace Yoga was for my 300 hour fundamental yoga teacher training in 2018. Before entering I had never been to a class, just a close friend telling me that she highly recommended the training. After talking to someone on the phone I then met with the owner/founder to talk about the training. it was humbling to see how involved they are and how much they really care- not only about you as a person, but about making sure you are best teacher/yogi you strive to be. Shortly after I started, World Peace Yoga offered me more than I could have ever imagined, knowledge and experience that exceeded my expectations. The classes and teachers are also amazing in their own unique ways, I found myself "craving" a class when I wasn't in training. It is a very rare and special place where yoga is the core value of everything and everyone. You will feel peace when you walk in and you will definitely feel even more peace and equanimity when you leave the studio. It's an essential part of my life now.

This is a great studio to get introduced to yoga. The teachers and other practicers are friendly and helpful and inviting. If you are a beginner the basics classes are wonderful. They teach you all the well, basics to get you started. I quickly became a regular at Mindy’s Wednesday morning class. She is so friendly and makes the class fun. I found that yoga was the perfect thing for me in my mid life. For years my body felt so tight and I craved the limberness of youth. I also wanted to go into the second half of my life with a strong core, good balance and flexibility. World Peace put me on that path. I love it!

I came to World Peace yoga in 2006 for a prenatal yoga class and I never left. My husband and I took yoga basics once a week with Anna or Mary for about 3 years, as a date without the kids. It was awesome! I eventually did the yoga teacher training in 2012. Now I am a teacher here.
I love teaching at this studio because of our common goal to create a space where anyone can participate. There is no pressure to push beyond one's physical limits because the goal is to connect to the Self, not to achieve a certain posture. We welcome each participant where they are with compassion and empathy, and assist each participant on their journey to the most magnificent version of themselves.

There is an emphasis on incorporating yoga philosophy into our classes and our lives. A wide variety of asana (posture) classes are offered, while meditation and stillness are an important part of the experience. I still attend as many classes taught by other teachers as I can each week. Many of our teachers do this, so it is common to have teachers taking a class along with the other participants.

The founders of World Peace Yoga are committed to educating about veganism as Ahimsa (non-violence) from the 8 limbed path to yoga. The promotion of this compassionate lifestyle choice is part of the mission, and participants are encouraged to cultivate a connection with all beings everywhere. Although I am not 100% vegan, I am accepted where I am, and feel encouraged and supported to live a more compassionate life. You will be accepted too. World Peace Yoga welcomes everyone. Please visit soon and see for yourself!
