I wrote a review not too long ago but this is a great YMCA amazing gym I love it so much. Who can I call or speak to about filming in the gym? The owner or who can I call? I know there probably rules behind it but I wanna know because I am a content creator and I want to see if I can film my workouts in here. Thank you so much for a great environment in this gym. I replaced my other review with this one

I've gone to this YMCA for years, ever since we first moved to Ohio. My kids have had great experiences in the child care, there are great fitness classes, the weight room stays clean, everyone has been friendly. One thing I wish they would change- the yearly triathlon. I would participate if it weren't on Mother's Day every year. I enjoy competing in triathlons but also want to sleep in on Mother's Day!

The ladies at the front desk with membership Susan and Janet were very helpful in explaining the YMCA program and membership.
The suggestion that I have is the ladies locker room need some updating. The showers have a great deal of mold on the tiles and the showers were not working that day only cold water I'm not sure if that is the case every day. Perhaps looking at updating the ladies locker room maybe taking a look at the men's as well.
Thank You

I moved from Englewood to Miamisburg in Aug of 2024. I’ve been trying to find β€œmy” new gym since. I didn’t realize what a task that would be. I tried out three others in the area. Those gyms weren’t terrible but something was missing. The gym has to be the right vibe, size and cost. It has to have the right workout equipment and be clean. YMCA Coffman checks all the boxes and more for me. There is something for everyone here .. CrossFit, strength trainers/body builders, cardio fanatics, swimmers, sports and much more. Everyone I have come across seems friendly and there to better themselves. The gym has been very clean every time I have been and the staff has been super inviting and helpful. They have always greeted me with at least a β€œHi” when I walk through the door. The sauna is on my wishlist but maybe they’ll put it in for Christmas ;). Happy to report YMCA Coffman is β€œMY” new gym . BTW.. pictures online don’t really do the gym justice .

This review is about sports programs... terrible experience this past summer/fall. Two kids enrolled in soccer... . Emma, sports program director, sent mails that we didn't have a coach and needed to find one or the season would be canceled. A bit shocking since we had already paid fees and the season was to start in just 2 weeks, but several of us parents got together and sent coach options to her. She failed to contact them but never communicated that to us. Season starts, we show up to first practice, NO coach. Several of us placed calls and emails to Emma about status of coach, and got NO responses. Ultimately, parents had to meet and create a rotation schedule to coach games and practices. We didnt mind helping, but the lack of communication from Emma made everything chaotic. In paying for a sports program, parents don't mind helping, ut shouldn't have to actually do the job of the "sports director".

Twice now I've taken my kids up to this YMCA to take a small piece of their multi purpose court to play with them and get some exercise in and twice we've been kicked off the court for a karate class and pickle ball and volleyball. Their basketball court space is always taken as well by people playing basketball because well, thats what that court is supposed to be there for. This Y is very busy so it's not really an accommodating place if you want to just drop in and do stuff with your family. If that's your primary purpose, don't waste your time or money.

Very nice and welcoming people but they don’t allow guests after 3 PM in the gym and if you ask for an exception one time if you don’t know about it they don’t have exceptions,
So good but not flexible.

This ymca needs to take wayyyyy better care of there basketball courts everytime I come there they are slippery cause of dust on the court they need to be broomed daily if not 2 or 3 times a day and to need to leave a broom in the gyms in case they do need to be broomed

Be wary any attending physical therapy as any form of not attending an appointment will be deemed as a NO SHOW. This is regardless of calling, speaking to someone or not, they'll just lie and say you didn't come or call so they can kick you out of the program. No issues at all with my actual therapist but the egregious way the program is ran is horrendous.

Had a terrible experience tonight, was with my wife, 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son. We were coming to get them warmed up for their upcoming basketball seasons, to get some shots up. After checking in, I got treated like a teenage thief over a ball pump. I brought an automatic pump but forgot the needle, I was pumping 4 balls and was going to do it inside the gym to not disturb the lobby, and was forced to run my loud pump in the lobby due to theft concerns. Then after I got done, I set the pump on the counter, my family went to the gym, and had an associate come TRACK US DOWN 5 minutes later asking us to return the pump that had already been returned! It was harassing, embarrassing, and degrading to a member. I have been going to YMCAs around the Dayton area my whole life and have never been treated so badly. Then got laughed at by another associate I was not dealing with (the one that tracked us down 5 minutes later). This is our hometown YMCA and now I do not feel welcomed.

I am so grateful for the Coffman YMCA. I have had the joy of taking many classes at the Y, using the pool, the cardio room, the track, etc. for a couple years now and it’s been an overall lovely experience. Certainly there occasionally areas of possible improvement but the Y staff has consistently been helpful and open to input. The instructors are always amazing and the genuine friendships forged over the last couple of years are some I truly cherish. The Pound class on Mondays and Wednesdays has become such a refuge for me (if you haven’t tried it, join us! It’s so fun!)
Most recently I’ve had wonderful experience with Stephanie, the Healthy Living Specialist. The In-Body assessment is such a cool tool and I love that our Y encourages measures of success other than JUST the scale.

The pool staff are very bad, they close the pool during the member hours and claim that they don't have staff, this incident happened to me while I was tylrying to use it during my scheduled member hours. The told me I can't use it because there is no enough staff. I told her I see three staff member in the pool and you are watching the class member why can't I use it. Their provide non sense excuses for the purpose of renting the pool to outsider groups while the member can't use it during their scheduled hours.

When we walked in there was a rude woman at the desk, she created a rule that never existed before we came in. She didn’t let us go in and kicked us out. She just didn’t want all the teenagers in there and we could tell. It was only 5 of us. We just wanted to practice basketball.

Besides this place being absolutely filthy, they also discriminate against people who don't match their same background. I've never seen a business treat people of different backgrounds so horribly. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The owner should be absolutely embarrassed about this "business".

Worst child watch experience ever!! Debbie and her entire staff needs training. They need to be trained to work with children with special needs. I was highly offended when I was asked to remove him because he wouldn't keep his socks on. I couldn't even enjoy my daughters volleyball game. Children with autism have sensory issues. He doesn't keep his shoes on anywhere. We have had our membership at our local Y in our area for 2 years and we have we have never treated this way nor has Jayden. The entire child watch team is terrible. The only reason we stepped foot in that discriminatory building is because our daughter had a volleyball game. I am very upset and would like to see the rules where is states what I was told. I will be expecting someone to reach out. This staff needs to be educated because they have no training to deal with children with autism. My son is a sweet boy and if he wasn't being looked at like a virus maybe you all could have took some time to get to know him before putting off in a corner room alone. There were 2 or 3 teachers and over 20 children and my 5 yr old son was a problem because he couldn't keep his socks on and Debbie mentioned it was a problem because they were short staffed
I call BS!! This YMCA needs to hire trained qualified staff. Debbie needs trained in customer service. Her delivery and tone was unacccepatable
. Along with the other supervisor
over child watch. If I can rate 0 I would!!

Absolutely terrible experience with this Y. Had a scheduled practice and was informed upon arrival that they booked all the gyms for the swim meet even though we had the gym booked months prior. Clearly the employees of this Y do not know what communication is. This should have been communicated to us the moment that they knew this was an issue, not 15 minutes before practice. The front desk members did not care that this was not communicated to us. Also, they were not willing to work or accommodate us in anyway. I am highly disappointed in the actions of this Y. I hope no other members have to go through this because clearly this Y doesn't care.

Probably the nicest Y I’ve been to before. The child watch on site has been great. If the gym equipment is broken it’s usually back up in a day or two. Lots of variety & a really big workout space. They even have a cool kind of play place with tubes & slides for the kids.

Things you should know for gaming.

1) the location is between 2 pokestops in PokΓ©mon go. You can spin them every 5 minutes.

2) The coffman center has free wifi

3) they have something called an espresso stationary bike which operates akin to an arcade machine without the cost.

4) there are places in coffman that you can buy food and drink

5) they have showers, and a pool you can use.

Coffman is one of the best places for both exercise and playing games in reguards to geo-loacation games like pokemon go. the free wifi helps when you need to get work done and the things you can do to entertain yourself or improve yourself are very useful. if you have kids, there are places for them to play and stay entertained as well. I recommend this ymca for the above reasons. When i am able to, i will get a picture to show the center in pokemon go.

New to area and went to check out this location today after speaking with the director in charge of the summer camp program. Her name is Kathryn. After arriving I asked for the form Kathryn left for us to fill out so that we can get our son registered for camp. Needless to say the girl at the front desk has no clue about simple questions I was asking. If you’re going to have someone at your front desk then perhaps it should be someone knowledgeable and not someone that continues to say β€œI don’t know” for everything being asked…5 times! β€œI don’t know”. I then asked for a tour and was told I can walk around on my own. I know I can do that but it would have been nice to have someone show us the facilities and given more information like most other YMCA facilities we’ve been to. Needless to say we won’t be registering for anything at this location. I’d give this a 0 star rating if that was an option.

Wish they would bring back access to yoga mats and bands and kettle bells etc. Montgomery county had only 50 cases of covid yesterday. Seems like a waste to now allow members access to equipment that is on site.
Also, seems weird that you can borrow equipment for classes and wipe them down but not when you are in the gym area. I’m unsure why this has not returned to normal yet.

Great facility, lots for the kids to do with group sport and solo fun. My daughter learned to swim here. The big kids ride their bikes over every day to play basketball. The summer camp is great for the kids too. Clean pool and clean locker rooms. I have been a member for 8 years now and plan to stay a member. I cant wait for the governor to lift the restrictions so we can get the fitness center and cardio all back.

I love going to this gym - everyone is so friendly. However, many visitors do not take precautions and wipe off the equipment (during flue season) when they are done. I always wipe before and after. Some work-out when they are sick coughing all over the place. My husband caught a staph infection and now on antibiotics but I am 100% sure it is from the gym equipment. Please people whip off the equipment - take precautions. A large sign would be nice to remind people and also making it mandatory would be good. Staff is a contact infection. Will still go but will be extra cautious when wiping down the machines. It's a great place to go and it is not the Y's fault......in anyway..

Not a big enough facility for the current number of members. Had a terrible time for the few weeks I was a member. Machines were being used by small children??! Where are the parents... saw one kid about to break his neck using a machine wrong because he looked to be about 7 years old. No matter what time of day you go, you can’t enjoy yourself. Pool is always full, weight room is always full, basketball courts are always full. Would not recommend joining here unless you’re okay with all of springboro staring at you while you try to workout.

I love the move to lose class at the Y. If you are experienced or a beginner it's a fabulous class. The classes are up to 12 people so you you get individual attention. This class is excellent for someone who is self conscious and is just starting out and needs to be motivated. There is no pressure or judgment it's just a class of up to 12 people trying to get healthy and fit. Clay is a great instructor. I think this class needs to be promoted more I did not know about it for years. The class could really help people to begin to exercise again. Thank you

A very nice recreational facility in the area. They have recreation for all ages in the family like day care, play area, cycle studio, yoga, swimming pool, basket ball court, walking track, lockers and others. They have various classes like swim at a very reasonable price.
The staffs are professional. But they can improve on their customer service and portal.
They provide family membership and individual membership at a reasonable price.

Bottom line - Looking for a family recreation - Coffman YMCA is definitely worth a visit before you decide the facility.

Coffman YMCA is a class act! I have been a member for many years and have appreciated the family I have with my YMCA friends and staff! Every morning that I come in, I am happily greeted by Sherri. She has so much care and genuine desire to connect with me personally! The friendships I've gained from the Y are incredible. It's so much more fun to work out with friends than to work out alone!

The Y supported me when I was a young mom with fussy boys, just needing a break away from the kids for myself. I needed a time to get healthy, both mentally and physically! They made that possible. My boys have loved things like swim classes, karate, the mat room, and open gym time. The Y is now supporting me as my family has been dealing with some tough times and numerous staff have reached out to help in any way possible. The staff at Coffman YMCA truly care about their members! This is why I love my YMCA!!! You won't regret joining the YMCA family!

I transferred to the Coffman Y from another location almost five years ago. In addition to being the busiest YMCA I've ever attended, it is also the most well run. The place is always sparkling clean, the equipment is in top shape. Most important the staff is very efficient, helpful, knowledgeable and above all, very courteous. For me and a host of other Silver Sneaker members going to the Y is a part of our social life. Our day isn't complete without a healthy workout and a visit to the lounge for a cup of coffee or water. Great place and friendly, too.

I have been involved with the Coffman YMCA for several years now with the kids sports, Adventure Guides, and Miracle league baseball. It has been an extremely positive experience. The sports staff at the YMCA are excellent, and I would recommend getting kids involved in the programs. My three year old son with Autism has recently started participating in Miracle League baseball, and it has been a wonderful experience to see him get involved. The Adventure Guides father/son campout this year was great, and the YMCA does a terrific job organizing this event. The staff and facility at Coffman are a great addtion to Springboro!!!!

When my son first started taking swim lessons he was doing ok, but now that he is in he Polliwog class he has thrived due to his instructor Tucker. I am in awe of Tucker because he has compassion for all the kids that come to him. He knows when the child is fearful of the water. He makes them feel comfortable and relaxed and they are able to perform at their pace with confidence.

The YMCA itself is a great place to be. They are professional and courteous and very helpful when approached with questions, comments or concerns.

The Coffman YMCA has a friendly staff, exceptional facilities, and a wonderful childcare program. We attend the Coffman YMCA daily and have enjoyed the experience for our entire family.

I've been a member of the Coffman Y for about 13 years. I absolutely love it! I always tell everyone that they have the best selection of classes and times I've ever seen at any gym at any location. Whenever we go out of town I try to visit other Y locations. No one even comes close to the schedule, cleanliness, or friendliness (both staff and members). I like that I have the freedom with my membership to go to any Dayton area Y for no additional cost too.

When you walk in you're always met with a smile. I don't think I've ever left there with a good-bye. I workout a lot in the mornings. I can always count on Sherri for a laugh to start my day. No matter your age or weight there's a class there for you and they make you feel like you're hanging out with friends.

Instructors are all so much fun and helpful. They are all so great that it would take too much time to name them all. I take Zumba, x-bootcamp, cycling, cardio-kick, and yoga, so there's a huge variety. I've stayed after classes to ask about form and never felt like I was being a pain. I really like that they take the time to get to know class members and try to give new folks extra help and encouragement.

The latest thing at the Coffman Y that has me working hard is ActivTrax. I've lifted weights for many years. I seem to get in a rut and just do the same thing every time. A member of the fitness staff told me about ActivTrax. She did my strength test with me, set up my account for the type of workout I wanted and my goal. After 98 workouts today I'm still getting a varied workout that keeps me "moving forward" as she always encourages.

The classes they offer to kids are great too. Movement, arts and humanities and sports... they offer it all. My son enjoys going to the childcare there and attending art classes. He is excited to try out their sports teams too.

I've made some wonderful friendships there that encourage me to not miss my workouts and we still have fun outside the Y! I'm thankful that my family has such a fabulous place to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Obviously I love this place or I wouldn't be able to go on like this!

For the past 12 years the Coffman Y has afforded me and my family with a variety of quality health and wellness services form babysitting, swim lessons, kid's parties to group exercise. The group exercise program, by far, exceeds any other facility I have been to in the quality of instructors, variety of classes, and multiple time offerings. The cardio machines and equipment are well maintained. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always ready to provide assistance. The facility is like a second home to me in that I visit it almost everyday and have fostered some of my closest friendships there.

I have been coming to the Springboro Y for over 10 years. At first it was just a place to do my workout. Then I started getting involved in the many different classes they offer. Soon, going to the Y wasn't just for the exercise, it was about the people. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They genuinely care about your health and will make suggestions to get the most out of your time there. You can't help but start your day off right with the delightful and funny duo of Sherri and Debbie greeting you at the desk! I have become friends with many other members who are now like family to me. I would highly recommend this Y if you are looking for a place to get a great workout and meet some great people!!

I have been a member of the Coffman YMCA for over 10 years. My kids basically grew up with the amazing nursery staff. The front desk employees are so friendly and helpful. I have always loved the abundance of class options, which has allowed me to try so many new things. I absolutely love the instructors. No matter what the age range in the class, they adequately prepare you with warm-ups, cool-downs, and a challenging workout in between! Nothing compares to the Coffman YMCA!

I frequently visit all of the YMCA in the Greater Dayton Area. I've been to Y's in practically every state that has one. They each have their own unique personalities, strengths and weaknesses. However, in my opinion if you're looking for the best fitness classes, the most knowledgeable staff, a friendly atmosphere, a diverse fitness and activity schedule, and some of the best (if not the best) zumba instructors in the state (if not the nation), then you need to go to the Coffman YMCA. It is SLAMMIN!

Well equipped facility. Expansive offering of classes with great instructors. They make the effort to replace/update equipment with the latest and greatest and add classes that appeal to a wide range of ability. Friendly environment, strong community of members. Front desk morning staff-outstanding.

The Coffman YMCA is my home away from home. The fitness classes are excellent, the childcare is fabulous and the staff are like a second family to me. When I went through a battle with cancer 3 years ago, one of the staff sent a card in the mail every Monday for my 4 months of treatment. That is above and beyond! I would give the Y 10 stars if I could.

In early 2013 I started using the Coffman Y to train for a charity bike ride across America. The staff and cycling classes were extremely helpful and I was well prepare to ride from San Francisco to Bethany Beach Delaware averaging 64 miles per day.

I also use the fitness staff and the "ActiveTrax" system to do full body workouts. What a great community resource! We are blessed.

Great for our community. I have been going to the Coffman Y for five plus years 4 to 5 times a week. They continue to keep pace by adding new equipment every year. In addition, I attend several of the free classes and enjoy them as well.

Keep up the great work.

Join this Y if you have no other options. A very monopolistic Y. They say they go by the judeo- Christian principles, but they are not even close those principles. They need to start practicing what they preach!!!!

The next best thing about this Y is the fitness staff. Such a bad bunch. They think no end of them selves. As long as the members scratch there back, they will help you, save a spot in the class or even go the extra mile to let you cheat and get a spot for those hard to get in classes.
If you buy a bottle of wine for some higher level managent staff at this Y, you can run for president of this Y. How's that for fairness???

Think before you get a membership at this Y.
