I can read energy in a room, and the fact that my child and I was standing at the front desk for two minutes as two woman (one was the director of the childcare department. She has bad bleached blonde hair. The other lady with brunette colored hair with glasses was a regular worker) and they looked straight at me, literally wasn’t doing anything but standing there. Then the brunette hair lady went to the back, did whatever she was doing. Bleached blonde lady was literally standing there. Literally was ignored, but could say hi and thank you to everyone else…. Already let me know they’re not good at customer service.

I was there to get my child and I a membership, so I knew that the process would be long, and they did a decent job getting us through the process.

It’s not even about the facility because as far as what I’ve seen, it’s nice in my opinion. It’s just the customer service as to why I rate this a two.

But definitely could have better customer service. Sorry not sorry, but this location can act like they’re planet fitness bougie. It just the ymca.

Spoke to a manager to try to purchase a day pass since I’m in town for the day and was denied. I have visited multiple YMCA’s all over the country and this was a disappointing first.

DONT BRING YOUR KIDS. The child watch let my child get abused by the other kids. They would not show us the footage so we had to get the police involved. I won’t be adding photos of my son for his safety but he was hit 3 times in the face very visible and the childcare providers acted like they didn’t see anything.

This has happened to me thrice at this point and has been a frustrating experience. This location advertises a swimming pool-schedule, based on which I drive 30 minutes to swim at the pool. They have a well-maintained, 6-lane pool. But the frustrating portion of my experience is in their inaccurate scheduling. For example: their schedule would read 3 lanes of lap swim on Saturdays(typically afternoon) and 3 lanes of open swim. But while one is swimming laps you would see an entire swim team ready to swim or some other unannounced event. The lifeguard at this point asks the lapswimmers leave the pool thereby disrupting and inconveniencing a well-planned afternoon.

There seems to be zero accountability for this careless and callous treatment of patrons who not only waste their time but fuel and money to be left disappointed in the end.

Make no mistake they have a great facility but the management of said facility is anything but.

If a class or a part of the facility is closed, they don't bother posting it on a message board. You have to find out when you come in. I'm tired of making fruitless 15+minute trips. Happened twice this week.

Communication with the clientele is almost non-existent. Be prepared when your class is cancelled or the facility is closed but a notice is only given when you get there. They don't bother with using online means to save you the trouble of coming there for nothing. 😑😑😑

Very poor youth sports program. The staff is far from helpful. They want you to pay money for them to let kids down. The administration is very unprofessional when it comes to ANY form of communication, from game schedules, not relaying changes in game schedules, when coaches have issues they can't even get in touch with Josh or Chris. All the experiences my son has encountered with the youths program has been awful. I made the mistake of thinking that things could be different waiting a couple years to re-enroll him in YMCA youth sports.

The new "be respectful of the gym community do not play on your phone while on machines" is hilarious to me. Most people don't whipe down equipment, nobody reracks weights or even tries to do so properly, some people prioritize 2 machines by setting a waterbottle on one and phone on the other, shoot the one dude just blairs his jbl speaker loud enough you can hear it with headphones in but let's be salty someone plays a 2 minute game on their phone between sets while they rest.

This location has extended hours through the entire week, great for avoiding the crowds. Massive free weight addition few years ago was needed and done very well. Just upgraded a lot of cardio machines, staff is quite helpful and keep the place well maintained.

Also has pool, upstairs track and a variety of classes...had and will keep membership long term

Is not actually 24hours the days it claims to be. I find that incredibly misleading particularly because I walk to the gym and double check to see that it is and it actually isn’t -_- then having to walk home with no workout was pretty frustrating. Update the website

**Edit : outside of that one issue I have loved coming to this gym. My only issue is them allowing people to bring in their own speakers that compete with my β€œnoise canceling” headphones which I find really obnoxious. You’re in a public place. You should not be blasting a speaker

Its okay. I've only done Zumba here bc it seems like the whole place has a schedule for every place you step foot in which makes it inconvenient to visit here and its always crowded on top of that so I am trying to find another gym now. Its on the expensive side and I get a discount bc I am low income and I still feel its a bit much. The only benefit was the childcare but you still have to pay for it and tbh I prefer my kids not to come here anyway.

Update: been trying to go here more and literally every machine is taken unless you go at night, which I don’t want to bc I have to get up early. I can walk on the treadmill and that’s about it. But every machine is taken and it smells. Not to mention i was in the locker room and ppl treat it like its their home, just seen a bunch of nasty and dirtiness going on. A waste of money. I will be canceling this week.

I love the YMCA at the Heights! We did baseball this past summer and it was such a great experience! My kid really gained some great experience while the YMCA staff instill confidence, sportsmanship and a winning attitude. My daughter takes the gymnastics they offer with their parternetship with Dayton Academy and she loves it! She looks forward to it every week and the prices are so reasonable. I love the fact the facility is 24 hours. They also have phenomal nursery/child watch with great convienient hours that separates them from most of the local gyms which is helpful for young families!

I called for two weeks to register my kiddo for 4 year old soccer. I send an email to Josh Baker, left voicemail and called numerous times. No one got back to me. I called the president of the branch and he nonchalantly told me that Josh was busy with phone calls and arranging teams to return my call so my little boy can't play because the team is full and other players won't have enough time to play. I will not be recommending anyone.

This is the third Time I have tried sports at the YMCA for my son for three different sports and every single time there has been an issue with communication when it comes to pictures knowing where practices are and now my son who is under seven years old was turned away from a game because he had a necklace on and that he’s been playing in (it’s broken so we couldn’t get it off the normal way) and instead of letting us know the rules ahead of time we have been playing like this for the last few games and practices no one has said anything about it. now all of a sudden he can’t play hurting his feelings in front of everyone being discouraged and embarrassed. We understand the rules about safety we would just like to know things prior before just hurting kids who just want to have fun and not being talked to as if we are holding up the game or bothering Wayne just axing questions the guy who was keeping score that works for the Ymca was very rude he slam the paper now and I said well here it is we gave it to your coach unfortunately we only have one practice before our first game so we can get into those things he got right it’s a skills this program needs to work a lot harder

Should be more transparent about the child drop off times. Not only did I not know the hours but some other person who came in wasn't aware of the hours either. Maybe list it on the website so that we can stop any confusion. To make all the information readily available in order for us to plan our day and be able to enjoy the Y as a family.

The pool is clean sometimes. The lifeguards can’t make up their minds, they are very rude and each of them switch up every time you go. one lets you do one thing the other doesn’t. they do not stick to their rules. it was better when in order to swim at YMCA you had to make an appointment.

I joined the Y at the Heights a couple months after it opened. I have enjoyed every day of activity that I have participated in. Met a lot of nice people, and have had some terrific trips with the Senior Group.
The staff at the Y is always willing to help anyone with a concern, and there have been a few, but, seem to be worked out to everyones satisfaction.
There is a warm and inviting atmosphere at the Y. Keep up the good work.
I want to rate the Y with 4 1/2 stars....if I do 5, then you don't have anything to work for!

I signed up at the Huber Heights YMCA on January 6th after asking for a tour. During the tour I explained one of the main reasons for us signing up was so that I could bring my autistic son with me to swim and help him build his muscle tone because he is in physical therapy. After making that comment, the person giving the tour did not make any comment regarding any restrictions on the pool. His response was "That's cool." One week later, I come in to swim with my son and am told there are only specific times during specific days in which we are permitted to swim. After leaving the swimming area, I notice on the nursery door two papers that were not taped up the week before stating there is pink eye and head lice problems in the nursury. We then proceed to the kids play area where a sign states no children over the age of ten. There are several children, some obviously over that age screaming at the top of their lungs. I promptly left somewhat irritated and by the time I got home decided to call in to find out about what kind of grace period in which I could cancel my membership. A Women answered. After voicing my concerns regarding what was not said during the tour and the flyers taped to the nursery that were not present one week earlier, her response is there is nothing she can do for me because I signed a one year contract. I feel what was presented to me was in a way false advertising and am disgusted at the YMCA's unsympathetic demeanor towards my son.

I have been a member for almost ten years and find my modest monthly membership fee well worth it: a friendly and helpful staff, a clean and well-maintained facility, a spacious walking track, and a roomy and comfortable indoor pool. I'd give the facility a five start but since I can't break it down I have to average my rating for experience. Showed up for the half marathon on Jne 11, 2016. During the week I had some questions that made me call the front desk. Always felt like an inconvenience to the lady on the phone or like she was agitated...Chalked it up to whatever, probably a bad week or real busy. Showed up race day and like EVERY RUNNER I know, we have toilet needs before a big race. I went inside and asked very politely where I could find a restroom. I was met with a short and curt response along with finger point. I thought, you must be that ball of fire I spoke to on the phone during the week. I go to a single stall restroom with two guys waiting on it as it was occupied. We all agreed there has to be another option..YOU'VE INVITED WHO KNOWS HOW MANY VISITORS TO YOUR FACILITY...I went back out to the desk and asked for another option. I was advised, "there's the restrooms in the lockeroom, but I don't open those until 7:00 AM....Really? You have an event of this size starting at 7:00 AM and you're not going to open up all your restrooms to people WHO PAID AND DROVE HOURS TO GET HERE AND EXPERIENCE YOUR FACILITY!?? I went back to the original restroom and the banter was comical...all of which centered around the ball of fire at the desk. So at least I know I wasn't the only one thinking this way. I never right reviews...especially to a place I may not visit again. This one just bothered me. I guess because of the consistency of the rudeness and lack of hospitality. You have people squirming with preface bowel movements and pretty much carry an attitude of "you're an inconvenience to me...go away." I did have other pleasant interactions with staff? I believe?? Or the folks who were working the event I participated in. In all, I'd give the facility a 5 and the customer service a 1. That's why the 3 star and lengthy write up. Oh...and "Leon" please return folks phone calls. I called and left no less than three or four voicemails practically begging for a call back to help resolve a minor issue. One simple call back could have solved the issue. Liked the event...just not sure I'll go back to it. Plenty of other very well organized and pleasant places putting these on:)

This YMCA is really nice. They even have a kids play area like at McDonald's. Gym is larger than most, they have significantly more aerobic machines than other Ys.

This is my for year olds favorite location. Out of the way though in Huber.

Every time I go to the Y I am always treated with excellent customer service and always get a solid work out in. I love being able to get everything that I need done at the gym in quick fashion and I can box too if I have some time to kill! The Y definitely brings a family aspect and is always nice seeing familiar faces when working out or stopping by and catching up with people who I haven't seen in a few weeks. I also like how the fitness center is starting to add new work out equipment and updating old and outdated equipment, makes working out that much better! I hope they get a stair master and that will be icing on the cake!

I love the ymca. Over the last 6 years this place has been amazing to me. I've lost a total of 153lbs and the whole way they've been there to root me on, cheer for me, and train me. My family loves it here too. I can drop my teenager off for a workout. I know she's safe. It's just a great family location.

It's a nice facility, but my BIGGEST issue is when I went in, I had a plan set up to where I use one machine after the other in my workout, but people sat on one machine way too long waiting for their next set, and sometimes left their shirt on the machine to go use free weights, then come back. It was extremely annoying, and happened every single time I went. There should be a time limit on those machines. It really was annoying to the point of me just getting tired of it, and walking out. I stood near one machine just to wait for it probably about 5-10 minutes, then someone tried to take it, I told them I was waiting for it, then they got an attitude. I would probably never go back to there again.

Several months ago I came to the Huber YMCA because I had such a great experience at the former YMCA in another county. One of my major hopes was that Huber would have a YMCA facility and that I would have the great relationship with the desk staff, instructors, and members that I experienced at my former YMCA, Unfortunately,my first contact was at the counter where not on person greeted me. A few of the staff looked up but ignored me. After, I finally said excuse me a few times, then asked could someone help me; finally one of the staff responded. I asked her to show me around the facility and describe some of the available activities. I asked to see the pool. She walked me to the pool without a comment. I asked to see the locker area, etc, There was no descriptions or comments on the membership, the facility or staff or on anything unless I specifically asked, When she did comment it was as if I was taking up her time. A week later I came back with a neighbor who I had asked if she was interested in the Y. I did not discuss my prior experience but when she left she had the same perception that I got from the tour, that the staff didn't want to be bothered.

While I enjoyed some of the classes the Huber Y offers (boot camp, fitness factory), I have been so disappointed with the child care. Is it so much to ask for the child care workers to smile and greet my children when they arrive? I usually go in the mornings and the staff that works during this time is very unfriendly. They act as though they are annoyed with you when you are dropping your kids off. Working in a daycare setting probably wouldn't be easy…I get it. But if you are too miserable to be nice to the kids coming and going, then why work there?

Staff is unfriendly. Last week I paid 10$ to use the swimming pool. This week I wanted again practice my swimming and suddenly it was not longer possible. Only for club members. I tried to ask why and even offered to pay more (every penny more is actually a joke for the swimming pool condition) but they just throw me out of the building. Will never go there again. Now I found another fitness club...I pay more, but the staff is friendly and the gym better. Thx for nothing YMCA!

I LOVE this YMCA. Our 3 yr old daughter loves coming in and asks to be put in the daycare. She has a blast in gymnastics and we love taking her. The work out machines all have an individual TV with full cable that you can watch while working out. I think their staff is super friendly and helpful.
