I wanted to surprise my wife with private dance lessons for our anniversary. After doing some research of several dance studios, I decided to reach out to Angel. She responded immediately and was super excited about the surprise I was planning. She was super accommodating and went above and beyond to help plan a perfect surprise! I could tell Angel loved dancing even before we met in person. When we arrived at the studio, she played our special song as we walked in and we started slow dancing. Then she came in, introduced herself and we started our very fun salsa dance class. My wife was beyond surprised and was blown away at the experience. Angel made it extra special with her fun and energetic attitude. At no time did we feel like newbies. She instilled confidence and was cheering us as we earned. My fiancé and I were looking for someplace to get dance lessons for our wedding; we found ADELANTE dance studio on “The Knot’s” website. I reached out and communicated with Angel several times, we scheduled a phone call to discuss lessons.
On the phone call, we talked about our dance vision for the wedding, she asked about body limitations; did we have a bad back or knees, discussed number of lessons & the cost. I knew immediately I was going to love her and I was right.
We decided on 4 lessons. At our first dance lesson we did a bunch of lifts and started to learn dance steps. Angel not only explained the steps & the lifts, but also demonstrated the moves with us. She led and followed so my fiance and I could feel the steps and the rhythm. At the end of the lesson, she said if we have any questions we could text her.
The next few lessons we worked on steps and lifts to create a dance routine. Angel wanted us to have the perfect wedding dance so anything we were uncomfortable with or didn’t like she had us tell her and she would adjust. She was so amazing to work with, we laughed and had so much fun during our lessons.
Angel wanted us to be able practice our dance routine to our wedding mix. We talked to our DJ and he asked if we could get him a copy from our choreographer. We talked to Angel about it and she doesn’t have the equipment to do this so she reached out to a friend to get the song mix. At our 4th lesson (4th lesson is 2 30 min lessons) we were able to practice the whole dance routine to our wedding mix; she went above and beyond for us.
A few of our sessions went over in time and she didn’t charge us for it.
Angel also recorded our dancing so we could see what we did correctly and what we needed to work on. I asked her if she could provide narration to a few recordings so we could hear the count or the steps coming up. This was extremely helpful when we practiced at home.
Angel is so amazing, she gives helpful tips for dancing in your wedding dress & shoes, she suggested buying wedding dress pins if the train is still too long. She gives tips for feet movement in your shoes, how to land on your feet from a lift, how to turn correctly, how to hold your hands and your arms.
We loved working with her. She was not only instructive, but she was hands-on. She was able to modify our dance for Paul at a moments notice. We laughed and we had the best time at our dance lessons. She was very welcoming, funny, and easy to learn from.
The day of our wedding, we knew the dance well, had the whole routine down. We heard the crowd cheer and laugh during our dance. We had a great time dancing at our wedding. Angel made our wedding dance memorable.

Working with Angel was amazing! We met with her biweekly for two months. She was endlessly encouraging, the choreography was phenomenal, and she gave really detailed feedback. She was flexible with scheduling and great with communication! My husband and I plan on continuing with dance lessons at Adelante Dance Studio since we enjoyed it so much!

Attending the Cumbia workshop was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in years! It's a memory I'll cherish, and I'm already looking forward to the next one. I plan to try the salsa classes soon as well. I can't recommend this place highly enough! The atmosphere is incredibly fun and welcoming, and the teacher is warm and engaging. Angel was our instructor for our first dance at our wedding. She was absolutely amazing! Neither of us had ever had formal lessons before and we only had two hour long lessons with her and were able to nail our dance at the wedding. This review is long because there is so much say.

I have taken salsa lessons in 8 states and 4 countries, on 3 continents. Angel was by far the best Dance Instructor I’ve ever taken lessons from, who IS the best because she builds communities, one cross body lead at a time.

Angel will tailor her lessons to the skill level of her students that day. She will teach different patterns that are 1-2 measures long that can be challenging but are not impossible, even for absolute beginners. She will not be satisfied until leaders can lead and follows can follow the movement through body language alone, and will break down the movement so anybody can perform, under any conditions with any music and any partner. After learning a turn with Angel you will not only know the positions, but understand the forces involved.

You never know what you’re going to learn, but you know you’re going to have an absolute blast learning it. Sometimes new turn patterns will be introduced. Sometimes previously learned movements will be improved, not for repetition’s sake, but with a clear objective in mind. Sometimes you will dance the entire lesson to fast music because Angel thought too many people were slacking off at the last social. (Affectionately referred to as cardio Salsa) The results speak for themselves. For each month you take lessons, you’ll learn 3-4 different patterns you never knew before

Angel builds communities through her classes which feature all the above, along with a generous dose of humor. I wish I could in any way describe the quantity and quality of jokes for this review but I can’t. You will be learning while you laugh at the silliness of the world for two hours. This creates an atmosphere is one where everyone has the confidence to attempt new skills and the patience to refine them.

I started lessons at Adelante solely to change my dance style from stepping on 2 to stepping on 1 prior to a west coast move. Angel made me an entirely different dancer. I could talk about the 19 unique turn combinations she taught in 16 lessons, and my ability to immediately recall them months later as if I learned them yesterday, but the most important thing I’ll take away from Adelante Dance Studio is more than that. Thanks to all the amazing people who I both learned with and danced with while I was there, I will always be able to look at my last 6 months in Oklahoma with a laugh and a smile.

Angel is amazing!
For our wedding, Angel choreographed the perfect piece for my fiance and I. Using not just one but two songs because I'm rather indecisive and couldn't decide. She created a piece that involved dips,lifts,swirls all the things that make a girl feel like a ballerina princess and babe from dirty dancing. Not to mention all in a week from us calling last minute, taking a chance she made it happen. This will be the perfect addition to our wedding that will make it a complete dream come true. Great Instructors. Friendly, kind, funny, patient, accommodating, encouraging, and experienced in teaching, not just in dancing.
Call them anytime with any question and they will be happy to accommodate you, regardless of your experience.
They also host a dance party for their students the first Saturday of each month, but they welcome everyone, not just students. It is a very fun, friendly and family environment.
One of the best things (of the very few things), to do in Moore, OK.

Debbie, the owner and the dancers there, will make you feel like family. Roomy dance floor and the DJ always plays the most well known classics and the newest Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha Cha, Swing and Kizomba songs! If you haven't been, it is a must if you want to dance somewhere with real flavor. Sabor Real! Nos Vemos!
