Review for Anytime Fitness (Cache Rd, Lawton, OK)

Pros: 24/7 access, basic gym equipment.

Cons to consider:

1️⃣ Predatory Billing Practices – Anytime Fitness uses a biweekly billing system that results in some months having three charges instead of two. This means that, multiple times per year, members unknowingly pay more than expected. Over time, these extra charges inflate the annual cost well beyond what is advertised, with little to no clear disclosure. Additonally, there is a $2.00 processing fee for each payment.

2️⃣ Fraudulent “Club Enhancement Fees” – Twice a year, members are hit with a bogus $xx fee supposedly for “enhancements.” Yet, nothing has been improved. The gym remains in mediocre condition, and there is no transparency about where this money goes.

3️⃣ Deliberate Cancellation Roadblocks – Canceling is intentionally made difficult. The gym demands a handwritten cancellation letter in an obvious attempt to stall and extract more money. Meanwhile, management routinely emails and texts members—proving this outdated policy is nothing more than a cash grab.

4️⃣ Substandard Gym Conditions (Rating: 6.8/10) – Here’s why:

🔹 Disruptive & Poorly Managed Environment – The gym allows unsupervised children to lounge, horseplay, and use loud gaming systems. Instead of enforcing a professional gym atmosphere, management turns a blind eye, making training frustrating and chaotic. (I don’t listen to music when I train—I train like I fight.)

🔹 Broken & Neglected Equipment –

30% of weight plates are cracked and unsafe due to deadlifts being done directly on hard flooring. Management acknowledges this but refuses to act.

The squat rack is defective—the front left post is bent, preventing the safety bar from locking in properly.

Resistance bands are torn and unusable.

🔹 Faulty & Frustrating Entry System – The key fob and mobile app consistently fail on the first try, forcing members to waste time swiping multiple times just to enter the gym.

🚨 Final Warning to Others: I am proceeding with formal complaints to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Department of Consumer Affairs due to predatory billing, fraudulent fees, and unfair cancellation policies.

📢 To anyone considering a membership: If you want hidden fees, deceptive billing, broken equipment, and roadblocks when canceling—this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay far away.

Those one ⭐️ reviewers are just haters. I walked into this gym, the first thing I noticed was that it smelled of rich mahogany and many leather bound books. Upon paying for my first month of membership I immediately got 6 pack abs! After one week I was able to squat a ford f-150 filled with kittens. The facility is hospital clean and the equipment is on par with the rest of Lawton. They have tanning beds on site. (Don’t drink a dirty thirty of pbr and fall asleep in them. I came out looking like SpongeBob when he needed water at Sandy’s house.) Also steakhouse right next door bonus!!!!

The trash is overflowing, and most of the wipes are empty, making it difficult to clean the equipment. The other front desk person used to vacuum regularly, but now that they're gone, no one does, and there are rocks all over the purple carpet while you're trying to stretch. The bathrooms are filthy, and it's really unpleasant having to use a toilet with urine and feces on the seat. Hopefully, this review will lead to some changes. If not I’ll have to cancel.

Just joined the gym here and it is great. All the equipment is super clean, and I love the warehouse-vibe of this specific Anytime that others don’t offer. It feels spacious and offers all you need to get a good workout in. Music is also hype & not basic or boring. Assault treadmill or bike.

It's very spacey, they don't have a lot of barbell options! But they do have four free ones that you can use for at least hip thrusting and deadlifting but they only have one squat rack for a barbell!

The equipment seems to be kept up very well the bathrooms are nice they have showers!

They have a tanning bed. They have a hack squat two types of leg press machines!

Any of the upper body machines that you need and a wide variety of dumbbells and kettlebells!

They have a nice little stretching room. It smells really nice and it definitely seems like they've been trying to keep it up the standard! :-) definitely enjoy the fact that it is 24 hours with your key fob.

They don't keep the wifi posted any where so make sure you snag it from the desk or someone eventually.

Overall great gym. I’ve been to several Anytimes around Oklahoma and other states and this one has been the cleanest and nicest by far. I’ve been at this location for about a year with no major complaints. It’s cleaned regularly and well, they have a decent selection of equipment, machines rarely go down and are fixed quickly, and the vast majority of customers are respectful of the space. Bradley is a personal trainer at this location and recently has stepped into the manager position. When I had an issue with someone walking out with one of my belongings, he was able to figure out who it was and get it back in less than 48 hrs. Highly recommend this gym!

If you are looking for a dedicated and passionate personal trainer, then I would recommend Bradley Willis. Bradley will go above and beyond to help you meet your personal goals. I've tried out most of the other gyms and a couple of other trainers in this town, but none of them seemed to fit my vision. I gave Anytime Fitness a final shot out of desperation and that's when I was introduced to Bradley. He will definitely make sure that you not only meet your goals, but also leave with knowledge that you can use for the rest of your life. The only regret that I have is that I didn't find him sooner.

This Gym is kind of ridiculous. They receive money specifically for Gym upkeep. Yet, I have been coming here for over a year and several plates are still cracked and broken. The only new equipment they’ve gotten while I’ve been here is for cardio. All of their weight machines are old and some aren’t even as effective as other machines. It’s better to just use free weights.

The room where are the Yoga mats is also kind of tacky with all of the mats sitting directly on the floor. This is after the mount has fallen down several times.

While yes, this gym is cheap. It also has a plethora of issues. Ranging from small to large. I would recommend this gym if you are on a budget and don’t mind the vibe being a little off.

I went to Anytime Fitness on the west side of Lawton to take a tour of the facility. It was very clean and all the equipment was working. I had no intention of joining today, but after spending 15 minutes with the Club Manager, Caleb Kulbeth, I gladly joined. He was very professional and knowledgable. The gym is great it's the staff that is horrible (now I see why they keep changing managers and each one informs you of something different ) and their contract is not the best it is deceitful , be careful when signing the contract they do not state what the cancellation fee is and they make each member of a family sign a contract so if you have to cancel for whatever reason each person has to pay a cancelation fee . So they can make up any fee for you to pay (because they say it's set by each owner of the gym but it's a corporate contract) , then they still charge you an extra month the staff does not know what is in the contract when you ask questions..I will never sign a yearly contract again with this gym (I will only go back there if they do a month to month contract) if they are using the same contract and tactics. Why not put in your contract what the cancellation fees are and that each member of the family must pay this fee if they wish to cancel.

Can’t tan at other anytime fitness gyms, charge too much then charge a $40 twice a year for “up keep”charge, they don’t let you bring a friend and charge you $10 dollars a month to tan on top of the $40 fee to go so for me and my husband we have to pay $90 a month to go. 😡so glad it will only be for 1 year then I’m leaving!

I met Tonia, toured the gym, and worked out. Very easy to sign up, building is secure, and there's a squat rack, yay. Only drawback is its pretty small.

I love this place. Almost a private gym. It's a little expensive but its probaly for convenience of the twenty four hour. Has no pool or sauna but you do get a twenty four hour tanning bend.
