Extremely DISAPPOINTED with Membership Cancellation Experience. PHILLIP IS UNPROFESSIONAL.

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with the Anytime Fitness location in Poteau. When I first signed up, I was told by an employee named Philip that I could cancel my membership at any time since I lived over 25 miles away. Later, when I moved in with my grandmother to become her full-time caregiver, I reached out again and was told (both in person and via text) that all I needed to do was update my driver’s license to reflect my new address and bring it in. I did exactly that.

Philip assured me again in person that the cancellation would be taken care of. However, I was charged again two weeks later. When I followed up, I was told that his supervisor hadn’t approved the cancellation—despite me fulfilling every condition they gave me.

I’ve been repeatedly misled and given conflicting information, which comes across as unprofessional and dishonest. I’ve done everything asked of me, only to be met with shifting requirements and no resolution.

I’ve since moved over 60 miles away from the Poteau location, and the nearest Anytime Fitness is still well over 25 miles from my new address. I’ve provided proof of my new residence, and I will not be making any more payments. If this isn’t resolved, I’ll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and relevant consumer protection agencies.

I expected more integrity and transparency from a business like this.

Be careful signing up with AF! I signed up at the Poteau Oklahoma AF in November of 2024 as I was working in Talihina and staying in a hotel locally. I live 300 miles away from this facility.
I was wrongly terminated from my position and had to cancel my membership. I brought my termination notice to the Poteau AF manager to cancel my membership. He said he would cancel it. To date I am getting emails saying my membership is still there and being charged for a membership I can no longer use. Calling the AF corporate is useless. Customer service is useless.

Do not sign up with Anytime Fitness before you actually talk with a manager at the facility. If you can find them there.

Anytime fitness in Poteau Oklahoma is a great gym with amazing people, Phillip was extremely helpful and it's open No Matter The Weather, even during the big snow storm Phillip was there, I highly recommend if your in the area check it out!

Would no longer recommend this gym. And good luck trying to cancel! They'll still charge you for months after you signed to cancel. The "club managers" can't help with this issue as it's out of their hands. Just be aware and think before signing the contract.

I've been doing the training for the past week and I've already noticed pain in my body, mainly my head, is getting less and less. I've tried to skip once already and he keeps me accountable and doing what I need to do to reach my goals. Friendly, clean, and actually genuine in helping me reach my goals and reduce pain sending my condition into remission instead of just looking for a paycheck. 100% recommend the Year of Change plan!!

Since Joshua Tepley became manager at Anytime Fitness in Poteau, the gym is cleaner and more enjoyable to go to. Josh greets each person as they enter and tells each person goodbye and have a good day as we leave. He provides workout tips and always happy to help. I’ve only taken one training session with Josh so far but loved it! He recognized my strengths and weaknesses and knew when to push me and when to adjust my weight poundage to ensure I completed each move correctly. He kept it interesting with a well rounded mix of exercises that kept me motivated. I really enjoyed the experience and plan to go back for more sessions. I was ready to look for another facility if Josh had not taken over the facility. Hats off to him and the leadership that keeps him happy enough to stay where he is. It’s a small town so great workers could be hard to find.

First time to use. Facility is clean and cool. Treadmill worked great. Didn’t notice anything to use for disinfecting equipment. Tried to use hand sanitizer station but it was empty.

Mike and Joshua are the best! I'm training with Mike and he's absolutely saving my life with every single session!! I consider him a lifetime friend now! If you ever had doubts about the gym I challenge you to go meet them and then form your opinion because you will see that what you hear isn't always true so go see for yourself!!

Horrible management, deactivated my keycard even though I’m a PAYING member?? DO NOT COME HERE. Very shady manager. When we came to cancel our membership he refused to cancel, called the police and had me and my brother trespassed, for literally NO reason, all we wanted to do was cancel the membership. Poor House keeping….
They need to scrub those showers tubs since they look filthy. Also, the gym has a dirty smell all the time. I’ve been to different locations, and this one is the only one that is always dirty.

Best gym in town!! I’ve been a member since the beginning, and I won’t go to any other gym again. This is the only gym I’ve ever felt accepted without judgment! The staff is like family & treats you as such!! They work hard to help you reach your health goals any way they can. I recommend this gym to everyone I know & anyone I don’t!

Yes it’s 24 hour open to you and yes the staff is friendly but the personal trainer contracts are ridiculous to get out of and when you think your out it’s another’s piece of paper work you have to fill to get out. Looked like a great place but ended up costing me more then what it was worth. A few friends of mine had the same problem. Won’t be joining any more anytime fitnesses I do believe I’ll stick to the Family Fitness Gym in town.

Crooked management.embezzlement allegations from employees. DO NOT go here. My wife could not get out of her contract. When she thought she got out of it they kept taking money off her card they said they removed from the system.
