I’ve been attending Barker Pilates for almost a year, and the results have been truly life-changing. My back pain has significantly subsided, and I feel stronger and more in control of my body than ever before. The sessions are thoughtfully designed to build core strength, improve flexibility, and enhance overall well-being.

One of the most unexpected benefits has been the improvement in my balance and focus. Pilates has helped me develop better body awareness, making everyday movements feel more controlled and effortless. I’ve noticed a difference not just in my posture but also in how I carry myself throughout the day. Mentally, the practice requires a level of mindfulness that has helped me feel more centered and present.

A huge part of this experience has been Lauren Barker—she is simply the best! She’s full of joy, incredibly encouraging, and extremely knowledgeable about the body. Her commitment to her clients is evident in every class, ensuring each person feels supported and challenged at the right level. I am so grateful that our paths crossed. If you ever get the chance to take a class from her, do it! You won’t regret it.

Lauren Barker is a highly skilled Pilates instructor and her products reflect the highest quality which she demands. I have purchased the mini-roller which is great for exercising and loosening muscles. I purchased the Rollga great for feet exercises to enhance balance. Lauren also has exercise tapes, a great series, I just started the balance and mobility.
Overall Lauren provides excellent training and products.

Let’s face it, the pelvic floor can feel like a mysterious and intimate matter. What is this pelvic floor? How do I know if I’m feeling what I’m supposed to be feeling? What if I can’t feel anything? Will I be able to stop leaking? These are the kinds of questions you can ask Lauren Barker, a teacher who specializes in corrective pelvic floor exercises, among an impressive laundry list of other exercise certifications and modalities. Lauren not only knows how to guide you to learn how to feel your pelvic floor in action, she knows firsthand what it’s like to repair and regain pelvic floor function after her own traumatic birthing experience. Lauren takes it all in stride (poop, pee, sex, incontinence, constipation, all in one session? You betcha). She answers all the questions and brings up seemingly taboo/embarrassing topics with humor, kindness, open mindedness and curiosity. She answers and shares what she knows and if she doesn’t know, she’ll tell you and point you to resources or someone who does know. If you know you need help with your pelvic floor, or are just wondering on how do I “feel” or activate “down there” connect with Lauren. She can help you strengthen, release and/or build awareness around your pelvic floor so you can reacquaint to a part of yourself that plays an integral role to daily living.

I’m in good CV shape having back country hiked overnights w significant elevation gain and pack weight but I have been bothered off and on with Low Back Pain for years and some vestibular imbalance due to benign positional vertigo. I read Pilates, with proper form, could help with my back. Well, it does. Lauren is a stickler for form and technique and after my first session my back felt much better. After 3 sessions I no longer fall off the Bosu doing squats so my vestibular imbalance is palpably better. Best of all this is all done without drugs. I am a physician and while there is a role for medication, there definitely is a role for Pilates. If you want to learn the technique from a sweet person, Lauren is your person.

I've really been enjoying going to this class! Definitely the most out of shape I've ever been and was nervous about keeping up or even being able to do the class. But it hasn't been an issue and she has different ways of doing the same exercise if needed. Super friendly and highly recommend!

Lauren was great at listening to my pain points and explaining thoroughly on why I was having my pelvic floor pain. She walked me through the exercises thoroughly and just after 3 weeks of practice, I saw significant improvements. She was always available for questions and check in’s. Definitely recommend.

Excellent instructor, knowledgeable, patient. Being new to pilates, I was admittedly nervous. Lauren put those nerves to rest within minutes. She guided me through each exercise with ease, corrected my form when necessary, and made the overall experience amazing.

Lauren does an amazing job. I’ve done Pilates on my own at home frequently over the years, but the workout with her was just way way better. I love that she talks about functional fitness. The exercises she used built on the Physical Therapy I did after having a baby. Lauren can help with building a foundation but she’s also an athlete and can guide you through advanced workouts.
