The Edward L. Gaylord Downtown YMCA is a great place to work out. The staff are friendly and helpful. It has free weights and weight machines that are kept in working order. It has several cardio machines. I particularly like the stair master. The hours are convenient. It also has a pool.

I like the Gaylord YMCA. The location works for me as it’s not far from my home. They have various group exercises with great instructors. My schedule varies but they have classes scheduled so that I can maintain my routine. The staff are professional and nice. There is also a variety of equipment; you’ve got free weights, weight machines, and cardio machines. It’s a great place for your fitness needs.

My wife and I joined here and everything is great. Wide variety of facilities, very clean and the staff is very friendly. We signed up with Teresa at the front desk and she is super friendly and knowledgeable, she seemed to know every member passing through by name. We really like it here!

The men's locker room and shower area needs a major makeover. After 25 years the showers are getting nasty.
People need to shower before entering to pool and hot tube and be required to wear a bathing suit. I have seen many people come from the workout area directly into the pool or hot tub in the same soiled outfit. The YMCA Employee, Treasa is the biggest offender. She also goes into the hot tub during the Pool safety break (I guess she feels it is her privilege as an employee) She usually stays in the hot tub for over an hour at a time. There is a suggested use rule of 10 minutes for the hot tub right on the wall. I love the Y and have been a member for most of my life. I have also use Y's in other cities I have visited. As the Flag ship the Downtown Y should be updated, and the rules should be better enforced.

Wonderful opportunities to be involved with the community. Safest place to bring your children. I love the staff, they do their absolute best to remember you and make you feel welcomed. I’ve been coming to the Y since 10 years old, maybe longer and I’m 26 now.
Only thing I think everyone misses is the saunas. But plenty of equipment and often updated to stay with the times. Feels like home.

Downtown Y is my go-to place for workouts and lap swim. From the moment you arrive, whether morning or afternoon, you are greeted by a family member who cares that you're there. Ms. Dwandolyn and Ms. T in the morning are just awesome - they always greet me and check up on how I'm doing. Ms. Bernadette in the afternoon does the same. The facilities are nice and well maintained - Roger does a great job! I use the pool almost every time I'm there - life guards are great and super friendly especially Teresa and Donald. If the hot tub is open, that's an added benefit. The stages bikes are great because they provide multiple ways to get metrics for later analysis. All in all, you can't go wrong - it's "the place" to go !!!

I’ve visited many Y’s. I’m disappointed that the hot tub seems to always have issues. I visited the Y in Enid last week and the manager said they have not had issues with their pool because they have 3 month hot tub Checks which involves water chemistry, jets etc. This Y seems to have reoccurring.
I’ve heard many members canceling their membership because of the inconsistency.

A good gym. Lots of cardio equipment, but also a nice amount of strength training machines. Would be better if it had more weight plates. People are walking wondering where to take some more weight. No actual smith machine - there is one but not a usual one - it also moves forwards and backwards. Here I saw 100lbs in a single plate though! I would generally recommend this YMCA to my friend.

My kids are having the best time prepping for swim team at this location. Coach Amber is the BEST. She's amazing with kids, patient and encouraging. They are learning so much from her. Facilities are well kept and kid friendly.

The front desk staff is excellent. The gym is terrible. They took over 1/4 of the gym floor with a Queenax play set that goes unused 95% of the time. And, when they do have classes with it, it's louder than a rock concert for no good reason, only when a certain instructor is there. It's so disrespectful to anyone who pays for a membership, but they obviously don't care. They bought a $3K tire that rarely gets touched, but have two broken (and in-demand) incline benches with barely enough room to use them. Whoever manages the facility is clearly out of touch with the needs of the vast majority of the members.

Also, the equipment is never cleaned. I might suggest taking some money out of the portable speaker budget and putting it towards cleaning. Or, since no one uses the tire, maybe they could sell that. If they could get $1K out of it, maybe they could pay someone to simply wipe off the equipment once a year for the next 5 or so years.

It’s clean bright and attractive and the staff are super friendly. It must be a nice place to work because everyone seems happy. There’s plenty of good equipment, lots of tv screens, very clean locker room. Easy parking.
Sometimes there’s a class with three or four people, at most. The trainer brings a boom box and BLARES music so loud that nobody in the entire gym can hear anything else. Very disruptive and seems completely unnecessary as the space isn’t big.
Otherwise, everyone else is respectful of others and uses earphones and takes phone calls off the floor so it’s usually a very pleasant place to work out.
