Early in 2025 corporate Genesis made the decision that only one staff member would open on weekday mornings at 5 am, with the next staff member not scheduled to arrive until 7 am. I called corporate Genesis and expressed my concern that, if anything should happen to that single staff member (get sick, not set an alarm, etc.) there would be no one to open the club on time. Over the ensuing months, no one has been there to open the club at 5 am many times, and twice in the past week. For those of us who have to get to work early, this means we are unable to workout. We're not even able to get showered to get ready for work.

The solution is easy: have 2 staff members open at 5 am, which had always been the case prior to that. The unwillingness of corporate Genesis to have 2 staff members open in order to solve this issue strongly suggests a lack of respect for its members, and a lack of caring about its members' fitness. My phone call to corporate Genesis earlier this year was never even returned.

To be clear: this is not a complaint against the staff workers. Life happens, and it's inevitable someone will not show up for a shift. Corporate Genesis needs to set its staff up for success, not failure. This is also not a criticism of the local Tulsa management of Genesis, which does the best job possible taking care of its members. But it doesn't matter how good a facility is if the gym isn't open for its members to use.

I had a wonderful experience at The Spa. Everyone was very helpful, from scheduling to checkin. The massage Andrea gave me was the best I’ve ever had. She explained everything she would do and was very mindful of making sure the massage was appropriate and met my needs. She makes sure she addresses any health issues and moves forward accordingly. This is certainly the best Genesis in Tulsa. Unlike BA and Midtown, I've never seen the showers down and they always have towels. And their equipment is in better shape than the other Genesis gyms in town. Still, they could stand to crank up the AC somewhat in the summer. Even Planet Fitness keeps it cooler.

Visiting from out of state and the south Tulsa genesis is close to my in-laws. Been here twice and will come every visit from now on. Super clean, all the equipment works, sauna, steam room, showers with towel service included. This is my go-to gym in Tulsa now.

Update July 2023. Still my favorite gym. Multiple locations with flexible memberships. Best bang for the buck by far. Check it out.

Update April 2025. Visiting from Houston. If you are going to a high price gym, you owe it to yourself to check out Genesis. I use the 101and Sheridan location almost exclusively when in town. Everything you need for a full workout, machines, free weights, cardio, classes, clean showers, steam room, sauna and excellent day care for the kiddos. Stop by and ask the friendly staff for a tour and maybe a day pass. I bet you switch gyms.

I really love this gym. The facilities are clean, and I appreciate that they don’t allow recording/photos in the locker rooms. My only complaint is the checkin system. They don’t provide a keycard or anything, you have to login to the website, then go to a separate page to get a barcode. It’s just really inconvenient & I feel like if they aren’t going to provide a card they should have an app.

Love this club. We come in here every time we’re in town and it’s always clean, fully stocked towels, well maintained equipment, friendly staff and has an awesome smoothie bar. There are so many machines that I’ve never had to wait. I signed up for a pilates class and got some focused training in one of the studios. I got an infrared light facial at the spa. When we signed up the salesperson said we could cancel anytime without fees. We'll we are getting charged for an extra month because they require "30 days notice" of canceling, even though the new month doesn't start for 10 more days. So we have already paid for these 10 days, and are being forced to pay for ANOTHER MONTH that we will not use. So they are liars trying to drain you of money. Don't believe a word they try to sell you. Go to planet fitness or somewhere cheaper. We paid 85$ per month PLUS THEIR YEARLY RENEWAL FEE on a membership lasting 2 years that we quite literally only used ONE TIME and yet they are making us pay for next month as well. Literally go anywhere else. It'll be cheaper and they won't try to hemorrhage money from you like these people do.
