This locations does no investment into their facility. The equipment and facility is very dated and not updating is ever done. To make it worse, the parking lot is even worse. The parking spots are no longer visible so cars just have to make up their own spots and it becomes dangerous with cars not correctly parked. This location needs to spend a little to keep their facility on par with other options in town.

No pool, no sauna, no friends or family passes. Same excuse we are remodeling in 2 years, pool is coming out with the remodel that has no seeable date. With Crunch Fitness coming in to Edmond, its cheaper, user-friendly family and friend passes newer equipment. Golds today is just 1 mile closer, no benefits or perks with multiple closings, I have little faith.

This place was the best, years ago. It was open 24 hours and I would visit late in the evening for the sauna and steam rooms. Those are closed permanently now. Such a bummer. If they would just open thw sauna and steam rooms, I would come back. I can handle it not being 24 hours. I won't come back until they reopen the sauna and steam room. I think a lot of people came just for that. It would be a wise business move. Just saying.

Overall the facility is clean and doesnโt smell, however I really hate that I have a contract with them. They are not so pleasant to African American people they are rude. For instance me and my fiancรฉ went (only black people there) we went to one side of them and every last one of them packed there stuff either left or went to the other side of the gymโฆ also we where watched the whole time we where there. Not all black people are thugs and it made us very uncomfortable.. I havenโt been back since.. I would really like to cancel membership and find some where I would be comfortable

Iโve been working out at golds for years, I was at the one off of Sante Fe until it closed so I had to switch to the Bryant and Danforth location.. they closed the sauna and pool during Covid and still havenโt opened them back up. I really donโt care about the pool but I would really like to be able to use the Sauna or steam room again, itโs ridiculous that itโs still closed! And Iโm still paying the same price.

We have tried so many to cancel but the manager and the customer service keep us and tell us that you need to do this and this. And the bill keep coming. The new/nice location is permanently closed (they made sure not to disclose that before signing up,) they still have all their amenities closed (pool/basketball/sauna/etc. - false advertising,) wonโt honor the โfreeโ personal training offer, employees will tell you they cancelled your membership and refuse to let you workout - then 5 months later theyโll try to bill you for the last 5 months & threaten to send you to collections. No, just no. Pool isn't up, saunas are not working, unfriendly front desk guy. I requested to cancel my month to month and it was granted. I requested it on April 7th and they said that's a 30 day notice... I was charged for an entire month extra vs them doing the right thing and doing a prorated amount as I only used this place one time. Manager refuses to refund saying it's a full 30 days but I've been charged for two full months now. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well. Absolutely unprofessional and it's no wonder they have so many bad reviews.

i signed up and they told us we had to do a bodyscan so we went in and the lady was nice until she told us that we had to sign up for a class which was 200$ more and we told her we couldnโt do that and she told us they werent allowed to show us how to use the equipment so we wanted to cancel. after that they were rude to us and didnt want to help at all. so we signed all the papers saying that we would get our money back in 3-4 days because it was within the 30 days and we didnt have to check in 8 times before we would get our money back. well we just checked and they still havenโt given our money back and we went to ask why and it was because we didnt check in 8 times and they wont let us cancel after the 30 days and we wont get our money back. we come in to check in but they shut down our account so we cant check in. and now they tell us we have to come in for a body scan to finish up the cancellation. our 30 days ends in 2 days and they havent helped us AT ALL. AND their manager doesnt do anything to help a girl out. if you want an honest gym this aint it because theyโll scam you.

Last couple of weeks it seems hotter in the gym than outside and fall isnโt here yet. Turn the AC on please as it should be set to 70 max for cardio and weight training areas. 75 is great for the pool but not aerobic workouts indoors.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. I was weary to start a membership here because of other reviews about billing. I decided to give it a try anyways. When it came time for me to end my month to month membership, I signed the paperwork, expecting two more payments as per the agreement and then everything would be fine; however, this is not the case. Goldโs Gym has been recharging me a charge for 3 months now. At first, their general manager, Shannon, was easy to work with. It took a bit to get her on the phone due to scheduling but we talked and I thought it was going to get fixed. Then a week goes by and she responds to an email saying she was getting her billing team to look at the issue. She has since stopped replying to any communication requests. I even mentioned I would be bringing an inquiry into this businwith the Better Business Bureau. I should have looked here before doing business with them as it appears to be this location on the BBbโs website that had an โFโ for failing to respond to 3 or more inquries. That being said, my card is still getting charged. I have done everything I can as a consumer that I know to do to rectify the situation to end this matter but Goldโs Gym is refusing to cooperate. So please, if youโre on the fence about joining Goldโs Gym, this location in particular, I warn you to take caution. Even if you are not on the fence about joining, you may want to consider this as something you may potentially have to deal with. This has been the worst experience in dealing with a business in any regard. I hope they see this is wrong and that this type of behavior Is unacceptable.

I have been a member at Golds since it opened. Great location and access if you live in North or East Edmond. All you can ask for in terms of weights, cardio and classes. Needs to improve on cleanliness and I have complained about that before. Staff needs to interact more in terms of walk-through's for the cleaning. If you are a motivated person and do not need a "coach" to push you to work out then this place works. I am a 5:00 a.m. person and have seen the same groups of men and women for years. Never seen any sexual hanky panky for what it is worth. No gym is perfect. Never had a problem with billing but always did things face to face to make sure I was understood in what I wanted to do and what management's idea was. I would not have stayed here if it did not measure up. The price was right for me.

Well I thought this was going to be a good experience but it didn't work. The sign up process was easy and was told that the kids watch area was going to be a flat rate plus my membership so I signed up in May 2017, but it was not to be, July comes around I get to the gym to workout and the manager confronts me stating that there's a kids watch fee PER KID plus my membership (I have 3 kids and fill time dad so they are always with me). I told them the reason why I signed up with the flat rate for the kids watch plus my membership... And they wouldn't even budge or make an exception so I cancelled. Don't go there because the employees aren't on the same page and will say anything for you to sign up

I've been going to various Golds for many years now. This location is not bad equipment wise. The layout and the amenities are nice. But it's not properly cared for and management does not seem to care. I've gone to the gym every night this week and the same exact used, practically empty water bottle, has been sitting next to a bench at the free weights since Monday. It's a regular ole plastic water bottle so it can definitely be thrown out. I love Gold's, it just needs to be take care of better.

Cable machines have been broken for at least 3 months with no mention of when they will be repaired. Weights are usually laying around on the floor. Disinfectant bottles used to clean machines are not maintained. Overhead music is hit or miss. Staff is very unptofessional. No ownership of their gym. They usually stay at desk watching videos on their phones. No monitoring of the gym itself. I have been going there consistently for over 3 years now and there is a definite pattern. No leadership, ownership from management. For the 3 years+ I have been working out there, I couldn't tell you who the manager is. Frustrating...

We joined the Gym in December with a family membership, and have had nothing but problems with our billing. They wrote the account number where the routing number supposed to go, they set me up as the primary, even though I wasn't even there to sign for it. When I advised them I didn't want to go anymore and wanted to change the primary they said we had to close that account and set up a new one as you can't change the primary. That created a whole set of problems. I was supposed to have a credit on the new account and not be billed for a month. I continued to be billed, and billed the wrong amount. I even had to resort to a stop pay issue at my bank to stop them from billing me. My bank told me Golds in Edmond is the worst, they have more complaints about their billing. I've made at least 2 or 3 phone calls per month to try to get this resolved, and I have finally given up and cancelled our membership. However, I paid a
$50 membership fee that I can't get back, and several of hours I can't get back. Save yourself the drama, go somewhere else. It is a nice gym and close to campus for my kids, but management (Danielle) is incompetent, and apparently there is a lot of staff turnover.

I have been a Gold's Gym member from more than a year. Because of some reasons i need to cancel my membership, i did that before thanks giving break and the employee told your membership is cancelled and good to go. But they didn't cancelled my account and keep charging me for the recurring billings and also for the Annual membership fee. After noticed that i was keep billing and when to this location they said your account is active. They overcharged me like 75$ and they are saying that they can't refund it back.

After I cancelled I received a confirmation message that it has been cancelled and last billing will be the following month. I didn't check my credit card statement for a while but noticed I was charged 6 additional times. When I went in, they said it was because the primary account wasn't cancelled but secondary. Who cancels a secondary account on a primary account if you are still going to pay for the whole plan? no refunds. at least they stopped charging me right after I talked to them. but still took my $200 that I payed for nothing. Gym is good and clean but beware of their payments and billing. If it wasn't for them taking my money I would have given a good review. Everyone just beware and talk it through before signing up

I have been going to this gym for long time, about 7 years. Recent times I found out this is a hooker station instead of a gym at night. The night shift employees bring their so called girl friends/ hookers to gym at night and vanish into to day care center at the gym or the room by the yoga area or the one by the steam room to have sex. You don't find any employee at the desk even if you need help with something. I also noticed one guy was high medicated, and high. These night shift employees are pot heads. They have random girls, not employees or members sitting at the front desk browsing main computer putting their feet over something. These night employees have their mind set somewhere and its disgusting what they do.
To be fair, the day time staff is ok, because there are enough people in the vicinity so they can't act as repulsive as they do at night. I hope management would do something about this. I was taken aback by these incidents and I have experienced this for sometime now because I go to gym late nights or early morning.
You only see random girls sitting at the front desk who they call their girl friends and having sex in the back rooms or smoke weed with friends. This is repugnant and scary. I wouldn't want my daughter coming to gym at night at all and I asked her to either go day time or go to another gym.
I don't know why management is blind to these incidents. I wish they have better surveillance on these crazy , pot heads so members can have a safe environment.

First all, dont join this gym. Its is only so-so. But if you must join, pay only in cash. Don't ever give them your bank account info or credit card. You will be faced with incompetence, overbilling, underbilling, and the complete run-around. God-forbid if you try to terminate your membership or have to call the customer service department in Dallas. You will be met with rudeness to no end. So I went into the location to cancel my membership and asked to pay my balance in full. The local desk clerk gave me a balance due, which apparently was incorrect. Silly me for assuming that the desk clerk had a brain in his head. So then, they start hounding me for more money, then give me a refund check, then hound me again for more money and threaten to turn me over to collections for what amounted to a clerical error worth $13. Bad customer service all the way around. I will never set foot in this place again.

Don't even think about this gym. Terrible, Terrible and Terrible. If you decide to enroll in their membership you ARE screwed. Save your self a headache and MONEY and go somewhere else. If you don't trust me, go and try it your self but believe me you will wish you never did.

One phone call told me no worries about renewing till it was in next time then IN said oh itS PAST 30 DAYS AND THEN TRIPLE PRICE TO 500 DOLLARS A YEAR PRE PAY.... GO TO LA GYM WHEN IT OPENS!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHISH I COULD GIVE A LOWER RATING !!!!! STEAM ROOM IN 2 YEAR OLD CLUBS BEEN BROKE 6 MONTHS GOLDS SUCKS

Easily the best gym OKC has ever had (referring to the Edmond location) and I'm not really understanding the vitriol from those here who are rating it low other than for seemingly problems with cancelling. It has a regulation sized basketball court, a swimming pool, a huge weightroom with every possible machine, barbell, dumbbell, bench, etc. you could hope for and a cardio cinema which is very cool and they always are playing pretty current movies. Not to mention there is tons of eye candy everywhere to look at and some of the hottest women you'll see in OKC. I love it and it's easily worth the $36/month.

Worst gym ever. Cancel my membership after my contract is over in Oct. Mail me a Collection in DEC. I call them and ask where they get the fee from. They say since i cancel in oct and the membership is reflected till Nov. But yet they send a letter in Dec. Saying i didnt pay for Nov.. charge me an extra $25 late fee.

I have been to a lot of gyms and have been by far most unhappy with these gyms (both Danforth and Quail Springs). The Danforth location has serious air conditioner issues and it's too hot to work out in there-and the other location stays so crowded that you can't get on a machine and if you do finally end up on a machine, a group of "tools" comes over and asks how many more sets you have and stands there while you finish. The pools are supposed to be designated for exercise and lap swimmers and most people are in there standing against the walls with noodles and get mad when you try to swim laps. We specifically asked about over crowdedness at peak hours at our initial signup and were told a couple of different times that, "there are not enough people in all of Edmond that workout enough to overcrowd our gym." Well, within a month, we were having to park at Best Buy-absolutely no parking and no equipment. The kids area is lacking in toys, and stuff for them to do as well. We will not be renewing our membership and can't wait until our current one ends.

Overall pleased with the gym. Only two complaints. There is an ellipitcal machine in the cardio cinema room that squeals LOUDLY whenever someone uses it, and it is extremely distracting! I've reported it in the past but to no avail. Second issue is some people create their own parking spaces making it difficult to navigate through the parking lot when it is busy.

They say you can cancel at anytime, but what they don't tell you specifically and clearly (at least in my case) is that it takes 30 days to cancel and you have to still pay in that 30 days. They do no pro-rating. Also, major charges in January for improvements to the gym that they decide to improve without your permission. This year we were charged $30 per person on our membership for them to add new flatscreen tvs. Very frustrating. And if you cancel your membership the next month, they do not pro-rate it.
