This place is managed poorly. Opens at 5am weekdays and 7am weekends. I canβt tell you how many times many of us have showed up and no one was there to open the door. Today, I showed up at 6am on a Monday, doors locked, parking lot empty. I give it a 3 star because when itβs open, itβs a pretty good gym. They need another cable machine down stairs and another smith machine. It can get busy at times and itβs hard to follow your exact workout due to lack of duplicate machines. They also closed the pool and sauna and never opened it back up so that part of the gym is just sitting there unused but our membership prices stayed the same. Today, I will be looking for a new gym.

Front desk personnel and trainers are great. Gym is clean and well organized.
Updating from several months ago. There has been a big change in the gyms cleanliness. The cleaning team that used to be here is gone, and I'm not sure there is one at this time. Locker rooms and restrooms are not kept up as they used to be or should be. Stains in toilets remain for several days at a time.
The front desk crew is all new, as well as the GM. This crew does not seem as engaged as the previous crew.

REVISED REVIEW!
After a few years, I decided to try this gym again. Completely different staff, and honestly, theyβre killin it!
Apparently management changed and whoever is hiring for this gym is hiring to and building a great culture to engage customers. Practically everyone working the desk is exceptional, trainers are great, supplement selection is good and reasonably priced.
My experience with this staff has has changed my perception of this business.
Iβm currently using their facilities and plan to continue indefinitely.
FORMER REVIEW BELOW
**************************
Golds Gym purchased L.A. Fitness and apparently decided to rip people off in the process. We had an account in a group plan paid for by our business and after an employee no nonger worked for us we tried to cancel the individual account.
For months they said the account didnβt exist (but we kept getting charged). After NUMEROUS CALLS and trips to the local facility to try to stop the billing, we finally had to report it as fraud to get it stopped.
THEN, after charging us almost 2 YEARS on an account that they said didnβt exist, they went after the former employee to collect 2 more months of fees since we reported them as fraud!
I would not be surprised one bit if Goldβs Gym ends up in a class action lawsuit. They owe us almost $1,000 in fraudulent charges. I say that because even after escalating to management, they were unconcerned and basically said we had to deal with it. When I told them I was going to have my credit card company backcharge them because of the fraud, they said they would just go after the former employee for the whole balance. Un-freaking-believable....not only crooks but they know it and do not care.

Very nice spacious gym. It has a lot of machines and is very spread out.
Bathroom and showers are also super clean.
Also a lot of sitting areas to wait.
The only thing missing is a sauna!

Really love this gym, staff is super friendly and the stuff they have is nice. Only complaint is I use to come here back in 2016 and still to this day they have the same exact equipment, and itβs showing its age. Would love to see a bit more added to the downstairs section. Need more equipment for the space they have. Havenβt seen anything new in years besides the new squat racks. Could use more cables downstairs and more leg equipment that doesnβt suck. Still great gym!

They don't do membership cancelations over the phone, on the website or through the app so what am I supposed to do if I don't live in the area of a golds gym anymore ? Am I expected to drive 500 miles to the closest one ? Meanwhile I get emails and voice-mail every week from golds but they won't allow me to cancel my membership.

Wish I knew they closed the pool for good, the only reason I got a membership with them was because I thought they still had a salt water pool. Itβs still listed on the website. So now I have to try and cancel my membershipβ¦
Why would you close the pool area? Water resistance workouts are easier on the joints for us heavier people. Disappointed..

Just dropped my rating from 4 to 3 Stars. This location used to have a dry sauna, a wet steam room, and a pool. They closed all 3 during 2020 and have no intentions of opening them back up.
This is a gym. If you are cool with just lifting or doing cardio it'll be everything you need. It's generally pretty clean and the staff are nice. Just avoid the normal gym busy hours and you'll be fine! I've gone here for years just because it's convenient. If a better gym with more amenities open up nearby though I'm switching.

Yup, not worth it for me. I have a bad overall experience.
Can't pay with cash.
Most of the amenities are shut down STILL due to Covid/maintenance. No swimming pool, sauna, kids club but they still charge you 25 bucks. There are 10$ gyms that offer better amenities (basketball court, jacuzzi, etc) and have deals year round.
Old equipments throughout the gym. The Press Machine is literally rusty. I've never seen new equipment come in. Infact I've seen the decline in equipment.
Cumbersome process to bring in friends/family as extras.
Coaches don't have accreditations and talk outside their realm of expertise.
Can't get help when you need it. Dispensers are empty half the time. Nobody is there at the front desk in the evening. The staff are in the office with the lights off and door closed.
Even when you will cancel your membership, they will keep charging you forever.
Seriously do your due diligence, read the previous comments about the management and fees. Know what you're getting into.

Gym is clean, staff is nice. But they donβt take cash.. staff said they got rid of registers. I visit from kc a lot. Donβt mind paying the fee for the 24 hour use. But the no cash seems ridiculous and lazy. Donβt use covid as an excuse. Itβs done and gone. It boils down to staff not wanting to balance the drawers or go to the bank.

Instead of doing my workout really disappointed . Never going to this location ever again. Been going to this gym for a couple years originally in San Antonio. Not worth it once I moved here. There are only 2 locations here that are within distance to go to and neither of them are worth the membership price. Most of the amenities are shut down STILL due to Covid. At this location they have had the sauna open since I moved here which was 8 months ago. There few advanced workout machines and very little space. No basketball court, hot tub, pool NOTHING. You are literally only paying for the gym portion. Also the staff isnβt the nicest. I know Iβm expressway they always great me, help me out when needed. At this location they donβt say hello. The girl is in the office with the lights off and door closed at night so she doesnβt even scan your membership card and the same girl has been very rude to me on occasion. So I will be switching my membership finally.

This is a nice gym and it was my first experience with Golds. Staff is nice. It was always clean as well. Sadly, I had to transfer to a different gym due to their evening group fitness classes all changing to 5pm Mon-Thursday. Prior to this change, I was a regular in all the classes for several months and enjoyed them, as well as all the instructors. I hated to leave, but normal working business hours are 8-5!!!! It seems like they did not care that those who work until 5pm would be excluded from the classes now. I had to pick a different facility w/ better fitness class times and options for my work schedule. Other than that change, I had no issues or complaints with the gym.

It's a nice gym, but we came there for the pool and they haven't reopened it since the lockdowns in early 2020, have absolutely refused to give any sort of indication on when it will be back, and haven't given a discount while it's closed. It's been more than a year, just collecting dust.

Try to join the gym, apparently you can't pay cash for a gym membership anymore. So I walked the three quarters of a mile round trip to go get a car to do so but you also can't do it unless it's tied to a bank account anymore. Ask for a manager, no manager working. I think you're going to have to change the name to Bronze Gym

Good luck.
I decided to cancel my membership due to COVID, the Moore location did well at making sure that they did what they could in regards to cleaning but it was the usual cleaning up after a guest; nothing more, nothing less. You do have to go in person to cancel, when I went not a lot of people were wearing masks including some of the workers. I get it cancelled and the get a charge for another month but itβs late so itβs an extra 20 dollars on top of the normal gym fee after I cancelled and hadnβt used the gym in 3 months. So I call the number back (National branch, I would assume) and I wait 45 minutes on hold and the it lets me record a voicemail. I have done that twice now, trying to make a payment. Now Iβm calling the Moore location and am on hold while writing their review. 20 minutes now and Google Live says itβs βless busy as usual.β
Donβt go to Goldβs, not worth the time or the money.

Sooooo when are we getting our compensation for not getting ANY of the amenities that we pay for? It has been almost a full year without the sauna, pool, and kids club. Not to mention that they "offer" a steam room that has never worked since we joined? ( 3 years ago)
Also the fact we went multiple months paying for the "premium membership" at a much higher cost, when they changed the prices.
They did eventually fix this issue.
We would love to keep the gym membership since it is the easiest to get too around, but after seeing what every other gym offers and has all their amenities open, plus being aloud a guest we might have to just leave......

On September 14, 2020, they closed the pool, stating it was because of Covid19. There were no emails or signs up stating this was about to occur.
On September 28, 2020, I requested that my membership be frozen for the time being because the only thing I use there is the pool. The staff member assured me it would be done.
When October s fees came out, I wrote an email to the gym requesting my membership be placed on hold.
When November s feed were withdrawn from my account, I called the gym. I spoke to the young man who answered the phone, who then put the manager, Robert, on the line. He looked up my account and sure enough, he stated that it was on my account record that I had indeed called on September 28 to request my membership be frozen for the time being.
I asked him then if he had received my email. He asked what email I sent it to and I told him. He informed me that the email was incorrect by one letter: one letter.
He then went on to say that Gold s would not refund my membership fee since it had already come out and that he could add those months on to my membership when I came back.
At that point, I asked him if and when he was going to reopen the pool. He informed me he didnt know.
I then told him that adding my paid in advance membership monthly fees would not be acceptable.
He sighed and told me he would call corporate to see if they could refund my money. He further went on to say he would phone me back on Monday.
I am still waiting for.that Monday.
In December 2020, lo.and.behold, surprise! Surprise! The monthly membership was taken out yet again
I am going to be writing the regional, as well as district manager in regards to this conundrum.
It appears Robert doesnt care about his members at all, rather, just their money.
I also had another thing that occurred. I gave front desk personnel my new credit card company the day my gym membership fees were due. They waived the 20.00 fine and I was very relieved about that since I had given them my card number that day.
A month later, I was charged 20.00 because, I guess, the front desk didnt make my credit card change in the computer.
Not only does their manager need customer relations classes, but their people need help regarding bookkeeping.
This time, they refused to credit my 20.00 charge, even though it was their fault.
I am a professor at Oklahoma City Community College and I Uber part time. I tell everyone who asks about gyms where NOT to go.
If I cant get my membership fees returned, then I will get them the ways I can.
Next line of business:
a
letter to both the regional and district managers
And one to
The Better Business Bureau
Plus a call to my bank.
Maybe they can stop the illegal withdrawal of funds.

I cancelled my membership at the beginning of July. I was told I would get charged one more time on 7/20. I needed up getting charged again on 8/20. Apparently, when I signed up, they put my credit card under the person I signed up with and put his credit card under my account despite what the names were are the credit cards. Goldβs refuses to refund me the charges on 8/20 even thought I was no longer in contract. Today, I saw they charged my credit card again for $63.00 after they told be several months back they deleted my credit card and it wouldnβt be charged again. They have now charged me $100 after I cancelled. $63.00 of it 6 months after I cancelled my membership and they still wonβt refund me. This is definitely the most poorly managed facility I've ever been to. I've only been a member at the Moore location for 2 months and I've spent a total of $300 on membership prices, hidden fees and taxes. When I tried to talk to management about a double bank draft that happened, they never had time to talk to me. At one point I could see the manager at his desk and when I asked to speak with him he couldn't be bothered. On top of being completely overpriced and unprofessional, the equipment is always breaking, the trainers are always quitting, and there's literally nobody to fix the issues. The childcare and font desk are the only good things about this place. Actively looking elsewhere that's worth the money.

And cash taking in all the money and when I won for my age group they said here's a shirt we are getting prizes together that went on for 2 months and now they say u got a shirt didn't u? Who would pay 65 to win a freaking shirt. They are money hungry and could care less about members. They never clean. bathrooms are disgusting. Equipment never gets wiped down. Theres mold in bathrooms and hotub and pool area. Over crowded and not worth the money.

Most bad reviews are about the fees and prices. I'm okay with higher prices for HIGHER QUALITY, but almost all the bench and squat barbells are very bent, they only have pull ropes with knots that come apart instead of the ones with plastic ends, and only one pull down machine. Also almost no one racks their weight. They need to enforce people racking their weight or have an employee do it. Tired of it. Been going here for about 9 months now. Not closing at 8 on the weekends would be a plus as well. They do have friendly staff though.

Went to price for membership too high prices for us the Moore location is huge with a pool. but they must have high overhead and they pass the cost on to membership fees we are going to go to ten gym it's cheaper. shoot gold's gym is not even open 24 hours you figure for the cost of membership they would be open 24 hours I am not paying the mortgage on there house and the gym

I love the classes, pool, different areas to work out. It's huge and there is plenty of room for everyone. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful. They have a good personal training staff. I mostly love the body pump classes!! The instructors are informed I don't like going to a class where the instructor is reading off a sheet. The ladies that teach know their **** it's always fun and they engage with you. The upstairs is great so much room and lots of choices. I have never had severe issues. If I ever did have an issue it was resolved very quickly and professionally.

Overall good gym in Moore, if you just work iron and the Sauna works , Jacuzzi and the Steam not so much. Most of the time on maintenance repair.
I dont like the fact that the sauna, steam and Jacuzzi are unisex and especially sauna most walk in fully clothed, with work out shoe and smell of persume or whatever else smell.

I canceled my kids club service last month and was told by two different employees I would not be charged again this month, but I was charged again. I called the gym three times to get a toll free number for customer service because someone kept giving me an incorrect corporate number. I was told by one person that I didn't cancel until the 19th and must give a 30 day notice to cancel any services. I was told by the manager on duty that I didn't cancel until the 23rd and must give a 30 day notice to cancel any services. My cancelation paperwork is signed and dated on the 15th and there is nothing on the paper work indicating I had to give a 30 day notice. I have been a member at this gym since before it became Gold's and every time I have a question or issue with anything the employees don't seem to know what is going on, have to ask someone else, or give different explanations as to policy, etc. I love the amount of equipment they have so I keep ;going here to workout, but I always dread having to deal with anything like this because their customer service has always been so bad. I don't understand why it's so difficult for everyone to know and understand the policies and guidelines the same as everyone else - everyone should be on the same page and able to help customers competently as needed!

This is gym needs massive help with having a full time janitor.
1. Trash cans over flowing
2. Disgusting mirrors in the bathrooms also in front of the treadmills.
3. Bathroom stalls look like there was a concert last night.
4. Thankful that they finally cleaned the filter's after a 6 month's.

If you plan on using a barbell when you go to the gym, this is not the gym for you. The barbells are bent and actually present a hazard to lifters. This safety concern has been brought to the attention of the staff and they have not shown any desire to fix the issue.

I would give this gym 5 stars and usually don't leave negative reviews but once you cancel your membership they will try and create any kind of bill to get every last penny from you.
First of all I have been a member way before Golds gym took over. Had a family plan with LA Fitness and then it became 24 hour fitness. The family plan we had was a non contract with LA and once Golds gym took over they just honored it and transferred over, as I thought so.
We decided to cancel our membership and went in person to cancel and made sure there will be no more bills coming in and informed him that we recently had a bank fraud and had to get new cards and the one on file was not good. The guy that helped us and ensured that we are good to go and there will be no more charges and our membership is good till November.
Beginning of October had a charge for $68.75. Went to the office and ask what this charge was. Guy at the desk. Can't remember his name, said it was b/c we had to pay for one more month to cancel and $20 fee for the card being denied. Decided not to argue and pay the bill.
A week later I get another bill via email so we go to the office and ask what this was. They explain that since we canceled it now changed to Biweekly and there is a $20 fee per person since the card was denied. Which came out to $162. I tried to explain the situation and how we always paid monthly and not biweekly. He said it is now biweekly and told us that we had to pay the rest of the fee.
I went ahead and paid the bill to be in good terms but this is ridiculous! I ask the guy at the desk if there will be any more surprise bills and he ensured that there will not be.
Not even a week later I get another email from Golds Gym saying I owe $20.
Please beware if you join this gym plan on staying them forever and you will love it! But once you cancel there business ethics go out the window and they will try and bill you for anything that seems they just make up, even if you don't have a contract.

Great gym when you're a member. I'd been a member for at least 4 years since it was LA fitness, but terrible when you try to cancel. I signed a non-contract membership when it was LA Fitness, but GOLDS is charging $160 cancellation fee with a month notice. The month notice is reasonable, but charging $160 is NOT. They don't care when you're cancelling. Keep in mind that they'll charge you an arm and a leg despite signing a non-contractual agreement.
Went there to talk to them and they said that they changed the payments to bi-weekly instead, basically doubling my charges. Doesn't make sense and how convenient for them to double the charges right after giving them a cancellation notice. Asked about the other charges, they just mumbled and said I had to pay.
Unless you're a lawyer with a lot of time on hand, you won't understand where the extra cancellation fees are coming from.
Biggest pile of crooks! Don't join this gym unless you're planning on staying with them forever.

Have always enjoyed working out here. I recently had fraud on my debit card and had to get a new card. I took took care of the current month due and updated my card. The girl at the front desk said they were just charging the current month. I look at my online banking and what do I notice an additional fee for my old card being declined. Iβm sorry but this is not acceptable we pay a good amount to workout here already. Looking at previous reviews it seems like golds charges everyone extra unauthorized charges. Not even remotely happy first your inconvienced with fraud on your bank account and then golds gym adding fees because you got your new card on the weekend. The very first visit to the gym with my new card it was updated and paid. Not right at all.

As far as equipment goes for, body building Is decent here. Maintenance isn't the best and management sucks but the capabilities are there. Better options out there but not the worst in moore.

In Feb, before my due date, I was finally able to get my account frozen and did so over the phone. March 1st I called to see about getting it done again. I was told a message would be left for the General Manager and he should be getting back with me the next day.
3-2-18, I hadn't heard from the GM so I called. I was told he, the GM, was about to leave in 30 minutes. I rushed out and went to Gold's Gym to ask the GM what I could do to maybe get my account frozen for a month or 2. As i was sitting and waiting the GM comes out and starts speaking to somebody else and they go into his office. I spoke to a guy named Taylor, did a great job btw or so i thought at the time. I was informed I was on a month-to-month contract and could cancel it without having to pay anything because nothing was owed. Now i remind you that for a long time i was told i could not cancel and i could not freeze the account. So, okay, he dbl checks with GM and comes back with good news, I can cancel. So, I cancelled my membership. I have to feed my family and pay insurance, Tri-care Insurance. Well, here it is 3-5-18, and guess what... Look at the bank account and 3 separate charges have come out for Gold's Gym. Go figure. So, I called Gold's Gym and spoke to the GM. All he could tell me is they submitted the request and that's all it is, a request. If I haven't heard anything back in 48 hrs to call back. I should be given the refund and it should refund automatically. He also said they have a 30 day cancellation policy. Where was that mentioned BEFORE I cancelled it??? Well, now we have no $ for the insurance and not so much food right now. This is so ridiculous. We pd every month and didn't even go to the gym, kept being told I couldn't cancel, then finally I was told I could cancel anytime. I think Gold's should be ashamed of themselves for taking money from a family who wasn't using the facility(ies), and kept being told no about cancelling. Those funds for the last 5 months should ALL be refunded along with what was just taken out. I rate this ZERO stars. My family and I will not do business ever again with Gold's Gym. By the way, the GM was still in his office when i left, making him there longer than the 30 minutes I was told before leaving to speak to him.
So, we signed up being told that my wife and son's membership along with Kid's Club would be waived til October, but my membership would come on the 15th. Well, so not true. Well, Gold's Gym took out $43 and change 3 times on the 15th of Oct and now again today. I'm so not happy with being told one thing and it not being true. Can't stand to be misinformed. Anyway, I would like nothing more than to give this membership up especially since we only went 2x in Sept. It's so not worth the trouble. As for the military price, well, it's even more from what was explained. I think I could find a gym at Tinker with no cost to military. I only signed up because all my son talked about was working out at Gold's Gym. It was for his birthday and I'd feel really guilty to cancel it.
So, today 1Nov2017, I call to find out what to do to freeze or suspend the membership. Apparently having a year membership we can't cancel it. To freeze the membership it's $15 per month. We haven't been in 2 months. This is ridiculous. The point of having a membership is to go. When you don't go enough, it's not worth the price. Then when I asked if there was a customer service number the response I got was, "I don't know." What the heck... This membership will be no more after the year. I'll be looking for a different gym. Thanks for nothing Gold's Gym. I am very disappointed.

Only gym, besides YMCA, that has both sauna and steam room. Honestly only reason I go here, and enjoy it this much. When they were having issues with the steam room almost left, overpriced to not have!! But overall, clean, spacious, hardly ever a wait, for equipment.
