I love this golds gym location! It's nice,very clean and,very spacious..it's never crowded.
I have never had any issues with this location! Be it canceling membership,re-enrolling..nothing at all!!
I just hate the fact that they closing this location 😭😭.This has been my home for about 3-4yrs,am really heartbroken and sad 😔. The other locations are nothing compared to this..

A better facility than Edmond ,it's bigger new equipment sauna was open steam room closed unfortunately but Edmond entire pool sauna are completely closed permanently, after covid and not reopening the members didn't know either. On the fence, looking past bad reviews and the same awkward continual and exiting billing experience(unavoidable), previously used Golds and loved it. My now closest gym only has one sauna opt, limited hours, still full price at $30 mo or something annual. I just don’t know about paying for partial what is standard at other locations. Warning, billed later and sent to collections after told my account was fine and I had a working card on file.

I was a member here and while I was a member I had no issues. Paid on time every month and used the facilities regularly without issue. When I moved, I no longer would be near a Gold's therefore I cancelled my membership with the front desk.

Spoke to the front desk to cancel, attendant took care of it and told me my gym access would be cut off after 30 days -- normal stuff, no problem. I asked if there were any fees or payments left and I was told "No, you're good to go". I went to the gym a couple more times, then moved thinking everything was fine.

6 months go by and suddenly I'm getting calls from collections agencies saying I owe the Gold's money after I had specifically been told everything was good to go. I have a hard time verifying this and why the amount is higher than what a monthly payment would have been despite being told my account was good and having a valid card on file. And I was informed there were no cancellation fees when I cancelled.

Collection calls are nearly unintelligible due to loud call center noises and strongly accented English, which I believe is farmed out to foreign collections agencies. Despite being off-put by the entire experience, I go ahead and pay. A month goes by without word and suddenly I'm getting calls yet again, this is ridiculous. I'd had a favorable view of Gold's but can't recommend anyone sign up given how this has been a nightmare to cancel a membership.

Hardest gym to leave & they harass you. We cancelled our membership and were told we’d be charged once more because of 30 day policy - which is fine, many gyms have this policy… but they stated they never received our final month payment and sent us to a collection agency for a $50 gym membership. We paid the agency and now are continuing to be harassed for another $52 saying we still owe more.

Don’t understand how a couple could owe $102 for a “final unpaid month” when the gym membership is supposedly $25-35/person a month with “no cancellation fees”

Love this location. Rarely busy and has all the equipment and space you need. I wish they were open longer on the weekends but I love that it’s late during the week. I smelled someone vaping and I complained to the staff and they laughed and did not take it serious. I have asthma......i have since talked to the manager and he said unless I saw it no one was ever vaping there, i asked him what was I supposed to do , barge into their office during the day to inspect their employees to catch them vaping. Indoor tobacco vaping causes terrible indoor pollution not suitable for a gym, and he laughed at me and said he was the regional manager and there would be bo one else to complain to

Avid gym goer for about twenty years. I love this place. Excellent layout. Great equipment. No frills - my favorite part. Was at Lifetime for a year. This surpasses that place, IF you are looking for a place to get a good work out, rather than have a nice, social experience. They have everything you need, and plenty of it, from free weights and kettle bells to mats, machines and cardio equipment. Super nice staff and easy membership. Clean bathrooms and equipment.

Tried to cancel membership when Covid got bad and my local Golds permanently closed. This was the next closest location so they were contacted to cancel, refered me online, that referred me back to this location. They then tell me all cancellations must be made with the gym in joined at...which is closed. I tried to contact corporate, sent emails, made calls...and finally blocked charges with my bank since no one would call me back or reply. I spent 20 hours on something that should have taken 3 minutes. Then they turned me over to collections and once again tell me in order to dispute, I must call the gym in signed up through and offer no solution when I say they closed it permanently.

I intentionally paid the extra fee upfront to have the ability to cancel without penalty because I knew how I always do gym memberships.

When it came time to cancel, I could not do it over the phone, I had to go in person. Tried the first time, and the manager had already gone home for the evening. Tried again in the morning and the manager was not scheduled to be in until after 10:00a. I tried again the next morning, and the manager was still not in at 10:30a. Frustrated, the counter person reluctantly gave me the cancellation paperwork and in the 20 minutes I was there, the manager had still not come in, which would make the manager of the store an hour late for their job.

The icing on the cake was that I received a letter from a collections agent about a month later for over $150 (cancellation fee and a month’s membership fee). For being one of the most expensive gyms in the city, you sure don’t act like it.

Gym is okay with the worst cancellation process I've ever experienced.

Pros: plenty of machines, equipment and space to workout in.
Cons: machines are often broken, mens restroom / showers smell like a terrible combination of body odor and mold. Ventilation needs addressed.

When it comes time to cancel make sure you take pictures of all your forms. Better yet make sure to force the current manager to input your cancellation request in front of you so they cannot "lose" the form and get you to charge more.

So back in March, my car was broken into at the golds gym on nw expressway. I was there for maybe a total of 45 mins. According to the place next door, this golds gets break ins all the time. I told golds to cancel my membership and I didn't feel comfortable being there. I finally had to pay $100 to break my contract. They're still emailing me stating that I owe them a balance in which their GM said he would take off. I keep calling and the guy isnt doing anything about it. Idk what else to do. Not only am I dealing with the after math of now identity theft (the person took my whole identity), but now I have to deal with my credit being at risk, and all this extra nonsense when the GM can easily go in and take the extra charges off that he said he was going to do.

Negative: I try not to complain but this place is gross. The bathrooms are rarely cleaned, they're disgusting. A gym should be cleaned daily, especially the bathrooms. I've seen the same stains on the lockers for weeks. Piss everywhere. Same empty bottles on the floors in between treadmills. Tons of bugs in the light fixtures. I smelled my hand yesterday after using the dumbbells and I won't repeat what it smelled like. They should close the gym and hire a company to do a thorough deep cleaning.

My friend invited me to play racquetball during the week they had a promotion in which you could bring your friend for free early this year. When I got there, the guys in the first desk made me sign in (which is fine) and I was sent to talk to the guy that signs new contracts. Apparently he was unaware of the promotion going on, and said I could only get in if I got a contract with them, which was super embarrassing because I didn't want to commit at that point. So after a while trying to convince me, he said I had to pay the day which was about 16 dollars, and since I didn't wanna walk out I paid to be able to play during the "bring a friend for free" week. The manager called me later saying they were sorry and that they would refund me but I never got that money back. Other than that, during my expensive stay, they were staring at me and talking about the whole situation. The guys in the front desk didn't understand why the other guy made me pay, it was weird, expensive and I felt coerced. Never coming back.

Gold's gym I like bc I like the staff and you can go to any gold's in Oklahoma City and Edmond. They all offer a little bit of different stuff the one on memorial they have basketball court and multiple punching bags. They also have a swimming pool. I like gold's also bc of the yoga classes. If you think that yoga is for whimps think again. I'm 47 and being I run marathons and lift weights. Yoga has made the biggest difference in my life bc stretching and doing yoga poses if you stick with it your health will improve tons. Your life will improve. I don't have the injuries or the tightness and my body is balanced. Anyway I'm saying at Gold's you really can improve if you take there classes and listen and learn it's worth the money!

Update: After years loyal attendance, when I tried to pay my annual contract amount, the NEW general manager informed me that I would need to pay $100 more this year. I told her that I had a lifetime contract for a specific amount per year through aspen that they assumed when they bought out their contracts, she just went through a list of talking points. When I asked for the contact information to speak with the regional mamager above her, she got offeneded and then became disrespectful. She refused to provide me with the contact information I requested and said I would have to deal with her. Thank goodness I have a second membership at 10gym, they have much better hours and have recently updated the entire gym and it far exceeds the equipment offered at Gold's NW Expressway. I had fully planned to keep both memberships because I have built a good report with the staff and other patrons at this location of Gold's Gym, but due to the actions of the new general manager I decided to walk away and just keep my 10Gym membership. In an attempt to extort more money from me, she essentially lost a long time paying customer. It saddens me to have to leave all of the great peiple I came to know but rest assured i plan to convert as many people as possible from Golds to 10gym. 1. Because 10Gym has better hours. 2. Better management staff and 3. Nicer equipmemt since the redesign.

If you are thinking about a gym membership, I highly encourage you to stop in at 10 Gym on NW Expressway before signing any contracts. The staff at both places are amazing, but there is a clear difference in company imtegrity. Then do what's best for you after having seen both places.

I was told I could try the gym out and cancel at anytime if for whatever reason it did not work out with no major penalties and of course the story has now changed. This gym typically works well for my family. We enjoy the cardio cinema and the machines are usually always working. The complaint I have is that the janitorial staff seems to always be cleaning at peak hours. I'm talking about mopping the floors. It's hard to use the locker room when you have to step over the girl mopping and try not to slip. It's also awkward because she is unfriendly. She looks like she hates her job and the members while she is mopping the main floor when it's packed!

The customer service is worst here in whole america. So i gave my 1 month notice to terminate my membership ; and after a month i got charged on my account. I called them and they were saying that i never cancelled my membership. I cancelled my membership with one of their employee and he said everything is covered . I talked to operational manager and he said no body can cancel membership except him. The guy who was working there was not trained properly so you have to pay for one more month. I asked if thats a common practice to charge customer by fault of your untrained employee and management ? he never admitted that i gave a month notice.
