I dropped into the gym last week when visiting from out of town. First, the facility is huge and very well equipped, which is great for doing accessory work around the WOD. More importantly, Coach Madison made me feel comfortable and welcomed, and the other members were super friendly. You can tell Koda has a great community! Definitely will visit next time I’m in Norman.

I had an incredible experience at Koda CrossFit Norman! From the moment I walked in, I could feel the energy was uplifting and motivating. The community here is truly supportive, and you can feel the positivity in the air.

The workout was challenging in the best way possible it pushed me beyond my limits but in a way that felt empowering, not overwhelming. The programming is well-structured, and every movement is purposeful, ensuring you get the most out of your session.

A huge shoutout to Coach Kruz! his skill set, encouragement, and attention to detail made all the difference. He took the time to correct form, push me when I needed it, and make sure everyone in the class was engaged and motivated.

If you’re looking for a welcoming, high-energy CrossFit gym that will challenge you while keeping you inspired, Koda CrossFit Norman is the place to be! Highly recommend!

Still love this gym so much. The community is amazing and the coaches are top notch. Go check out Koda Norman!

Absolutely the best gym ever. All workouts are scaled(whether that be up for you super amazing folks or down for this out of shape old momma)to meet each individual persons needs. The coaches are always available to modify workouts for injuries or old knees(thats for me). Everyone is kind and welcoming. My kids also attend KodaKids and their confidence has skyrocketed. They love working out and the coaches are so encouraging and helpful. They always work to ensure the kids don't lift heavy weight until they are ready and safety is their top priority! Seriously....you should absolutely come try out this gym(the first class is free!)

Koda is a life saver for me, as I’ve gotten older I find it necessary to keep this body moving and the longevity class that they have here for ages 55 plus is the best thing I’ve done for myself, the owner Toby and all of the coaches are all very knowledgeable and work with everyone no matter what abilities or disabilities you have. My health has improved so much in the last 5 years.

I worked out at Koda all summer while back from college break, and I have never enjoyed working out so much in my life. The coaches and people are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the workouts are fantastic. I would 100% recommend Koda to anyone who is considering trying CrossFit for the first time! I went to the beginners class for my first month and loved it!

Amazing box. Expansive, with tons of racks, weights, dumbbells, as well mobility accessories. All equipment was easily accessible, identifiable as far as weight, resistance. They have a sauna and a cold plunge bath, though I was unable to take advantage due to only being in town a couple days.

Great website which made signing up for a drop in class easy. And Coach Zeth was AWESOME. Skilled, great communicator, very patient with everyone in class.

I’ll be in Norman next year for my nephew’s graduation - will definitely drop in again. Thanks Koda CF!

TLDR - highly recommend

There's a lot to say, and it's all good. If exercise is stale, you want exercise time to be more efficient, you dropped off fitness goals, or you are working your way back from injury then sign up for a free introductory session and see if it fits you. You can expect a clean, safe, respectful, well-equipped space with friendly people and knowledgeable staff.

I've been exercising at Koda CrossFit in Norman since May 2018. At least half the regulars today have been members longer than me. I have taken different breaks for busy periods of work or family events. When I walk back in the coaches greet me and catch up. They are as intentional in their relationships as they are in fitness.

The building is big with areas to recover, clean up and change. There is a children's area and a kid's class in the evening. All equipment needed for any given class is in the gym. You bring shoes and clothes to sweat in. Fitness track classes are an hour long with a general fitness emphasis and a cross training flavor. First there's a thorough warm up tailored to the workout then skill development focused on form then a high effort circuit. Coaches guide you with careful attention.

Workouts are posted by app for the week so you know the schedule, what you’re going to need and how busy the class is. Typical exercises are too numerous to list - it is never repetitive. Often part of the workout is outside. The programming is in 6-week blocks. It is carefully considered and consistently excellent. The coaches are attentive to safety and form allowing confident skill development. Classes are available as early as 5:30 AM and throughout the day. There are weekend classes and numerous local events.

Programming tracks include: beginner, enthusiast, competitor, lady-exclusive, Olympic lifting, longevity and strength. There are early, lunch, afternoon and evening classes. Classes usually have 6 to 15 people, occasionally it’s busier but I have not been to many classes that feel crowded. I have never been to a class where I didn’t have space, equipment or coaching I needed to complete the workout safely. My schedule varies so I go at different times during the week. There are different energies that depend on the people present but the experience is always supportive. I am glad I made it to the gym every time. It’s a great way to wake up or let go of a stressful day. All types of people show up: families, mature, teens, parents with kids, students, professionals, soldiers, teachers, travelers and visitors.

Beyond simply working out, it’s a community. There are events to support mental health, celebrate holidays and raise funds for member competitors. There's a hoop, pickle ball courts are marked out and I understand there is general rec time open to the community. When Covid was looming, they shut down and reopened according to guidelines to keep everyone safe. Extra precautions to keep the gym clean are in place today. Management responds to issues proactively and consistently. Members are national competitors.

If you need to recover or adapt, rehabilitation resources are included and available with advice. Everyone who shows up demonstrates an inspirational level of fitness and everyone is looking to improve.

The coaches are all versed in adaptation to protect participants in pursuit of elite fitness, accommodate variable fitness levels and are consistently encouraging. I hear it often and it resonates - I have a membership to do with as I please. I can go for broke or slow down to get what I need out of my time at the gym.

Koda Norman has helped me get in the best shape of my life! And after that, helped me maintain my fitness through pregnancy and life with a newborn. Not only are the warmups and workouts effective and engaging, but also the people here are second to none. You won't find a more welcoming atmosphere of friends who want to rally around you and celebrate your successes. They'll be there cheering until the last person is finished with the WOD. I’ve been a member at Koda Norman for 2 years now and it’s by far my favorite gym! I’ve made more progress here in 2 years than I ever thought possible. I struggled making gains for YEARS in all the other facilities I’ve tried and there’s no way I will ever go back to your run of the mill gym…. Koda isn’t only a gym, it’s a community, a family and for me personally my second home. Every coach is uniquely amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and inclusive. You will never feel alone here. It’s like having a private trainer everyday and who wouldn’t benefit from that! If you’re looking for your gym, this is it! No matter what health journey you’re on this gym is tailored just for you! They also offer many other options. Just to name one they have a physical therapist on site who is so helpful. I thought a lot of my problems were because I was old but I was so wrong. The PT literally figured out what was causing my pain and other chronic issues in less than an hour and made a plan to fix them. I thought these were issues I would live with forever but that’s not the case thanks to her. This is a wonderful place with wonderful people all around and I’m head over heels in love with my gym! 💙Koda means friend❤️

By far, the most friendly and welcoming crossfit box that I have ever been to, after visiting over 2 dozen boxes across North and Central America, Asia, and Central Europe. The program in this place is super genius that you can see the super fit athletes and new crossfitters all do the same workout, and all lay on the ground after doing it.
By the way, this gym is HUGE. You take a random rock band to hold a concert there, and it won't get filled up.

I was really intimidated by CrossFit for a while, but finally decided to give it a shot. I didn't know anyone at the time who did CrossFit and the idea of dropping into a gym and trying it out by myself was pretty daunting. But I knew I needed to give it a shot and Koda Norman was the first gym I tried. I went for their free class and because of the coach (you're the man, Rico!) and the extremely welcoming community, I signed up for a membership on the spot. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Koda CrossFit and appreciate the Network of gyms and amenities which are made available to members. I've had the opportunity to workout in multiple gyms over the years and one of the many things which has stood out to me about Koda is the friendly, warm atmosphere coupled with the high level of knowledge and professionalism from the staff in conducting classes and training athletes. To say this group is competitive would be an understatement...I've seen Toby and several of the leadership train for competition and it's all business - they don't mess around. But in the pursuit of excellence in every area: training, coaching, nutrition, competition, etc., they never lose sight of why they're apart of Koda and the greater CrossFit community as a whole: to train and support anyone who walks through their doors by providing the tools, resources and knowledge base necessary to achieve the goals that are most important to them.

If you want to improve in any area - diet/nutrition, strength training and competition, or if you're simply looking for a community that is going to support you in the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, I would highly recommend giving Koda a try. I believe you'll find the complete package: friendship, accountability in helping you reach your goals, and a network of coaches & athletes alike that will walk alongside and do whatever it takes to both encourage you and make you successful.

Love coming here! Such a great community, great staff and good, tough workouts. Even working out through pregnancy has been wonderful - the coaches offer modifications for movements I slowly was unable to do. There isn't childcare, but they truly are a close knit "family" and many have lent a helping hand with my kiddos while I work out.

Hands down one of the best gyms and names in Crossfit. I wish there was a KODA everywhere. Coaching, programming and community are incredible and can help anyone reach their goals from a brand new athlete to a masters athlete to a games athlete. KODA can offer everyone something.

Great place for beginners like me to get into CrossFit! Coaches are friendly but challenging. Koda has created it's own community and it feels like it every time I go. This is the only gym/fitness program I've ever been able to commit to. It's difficult and challenging but very rewarding if you put in the hard work. I highly recommend checking out Koda CrossFit Norman, it really has changed my life and attitude about health and fitness.

The atmosphere here is fun and friendly. It helps ease any anxiety you might have about starting crossfit or joining a new group. Everyone encourages each other to do their best. The coaches are very knowledgeable and are so great about targeting your weaknesses in a positive way so that you can improve. The coaches make new members feel included and welcome as well as the members.

Incredible, nothing short of top-rate. It becomes evident very quickly that everyone involved with this organization puts their hearts & their passion into producing the best experience for their members.

The extent of my physical aptitude has been in endurance training - performing as a distance athlete in competitive 5ks and later competing recreationally in half/full marathons. Before joining Koda, I had zero experience with Crossfit and almost as little knowledge about strength training. I was looking to explore a different method of physical fitness, but was nervous to try something I had no formal training with. From the very first day I felt welcomed by the coaching staff & members - and the support, encouragement, and expertise is unlike anything I've ever experienced.

The pricing is very affordable, especially with the student rate - as you're not getting just a gym membership but also: knowledgeable coaching, nutritional advice, workouts designed by certified professionals, and a community atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else.

After just over 2 months, I'm thrilled to have found an alternative form of fitness that has produced such impressive results, both physically and mentally. I now feel confident with the program, comfortable with the people I'm sweating alongside, and excited for what I can achieve as I continue to challenge myself with the support of KXN & its community.

I have always been the last to finish, and least favorite for physical team activites.... but soon enough, with the help of the coaches, I will be the first to finish and not the most out of shape/breath person at this box! Everyone here is supportive if your the first or last that finishes. That's what makes Koda a place you want to be!!!

I walked into Koda Crossfit Norman in August '14 not knowing any coaches or athletes. I was immediately treated like I had known everyone for years. The athletes at Koda Norman are some of the hardest working, dedicated people I've met. The coaches' dedication and expertise in programming workouts is amazing. The overall atmosphere at Koda Norman is full of encouragement, accountability, laughter, precision, and sweat. Koda Norman is the epitome of a Crossfit box.

The coaches and clientele at Koda CrossFit Norman are extremely helpful, outgoing, and generally care about your health and fitness. They are very attentive to individual needs and always open to answering questions or breaking down a new concept. I highly recommend the personal "elements" classes to learn the movements, concepts, and some terminology. I've only been attending for a couple months but can already see myself as a long term member!

I joined Koda CrossFit Norman after having moved to the area a few months ago, never having done CrossFit before. The coaches at KXN have been unbelievably helpful, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun, and the others in classes have been the same. I'm very glad to have found this place.

Koda Norman is Awesome!
I am 44 and two years of work travel and eating on the expense account had taken it's toll on my health. After six weeks of crossfit, I have added muscle, and dropped weight and inches. Nothing feels better than going to the next notch in your belt. I sleep better and feel better. The paleo diet is a big part of the success. Cutting out grain and sugar wiped out the belly bloat in no time.
I am hooked - Now I am picking my hotels on the road based on their proximity to a crossfit gym so that I don't have to miss. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are pushing yourself at the regular gym - it is not the same.
Good Luck!

Dear Potential Crossfiters,

Koda Norman is a fantastic community, however, I would not recommend to any person who enjoys using machines and easy workouts.

The workouts are tough, the trainers are all legit, and your mental/physical capabilities will be tested with every workout. I started at Koda Norman the day it started and have never been dissapointed with the quality of the gym. Great group of trainers and great group of members.
